Book 3: XDR Rising
Chapter 2: Homecoming
The world of the Symphogears. This world may look like Earth, but it's much different. It was usually under the threat of extra-dimensional beings known as the Noise, beings that appear out of nowhere and can turn humans into carbons upon contact. But this world also has its own saviours, the ones known as the Attuned; the Symphogears. They fight to protect this world from the Noise, and even fought villains that plan to destroy the world. What adventures will take place in this world for our multiversal travelling heroes, especially the ones who are originally from said world, Kanade Amou and Serena Cadenzavna Eve?
Guardian Base
A portal suddenly appeared right above the clouds, and out came the large airship; the Guardian Base, before the portal disappeared right behind it. Inside the airship's command center, our heroes are awaiting the results of their current location. During the trip through the dimensional portal, they took the time to explain to Vent and Aile about the events that happened so far. They were shocked and surprised at what they've learned, but eventually understood their current mission until they find a way to go back to their own world.
"Looks like we made it through the portal in one piece." Commander Prairie stated before turning to an operator. "Activate the outer cameras to see if we're in the correct destination."
"Yes, ma'am!" The operator named Tulip responded as she began to tap a few buttons until several holo-screens appeared on the command center, revealing the Guardian Base's currect location via the outer cameras. And what they saw, completely stunned the group with shock and awe, especially Kanade and Serena.
The screens showed odd shaped buildings, hologram billboards and other high-tech stuff. Not only that, the place looked like a future version of Tokyo, Japan. But for Kanade, this is what she remembered when she was still alive in that world. "This is it... There's no mistaking it... This is Tokyo, Japan...!" Kanade said, gaining everyone's attention while she turned to Serena with a smile. "Serena... we're home... we're finally back in our world...!"
"Then this is... the world of the Symphogears...?!" Serena exclaimed, earning a nod from Kanade before they began to hug each other while shedding a few tears.
"Kanade, Serena, welcome home." Zeo declared with a smile as they watched the holo-screens showing the world of the Symphogears, Kanade and Serena's homeworld.
"Give me a moment to see what month and year we're at right now." Gaius said as he began to push a few buttons on his Zikan Phone, until it revealed what he was looking for. "January 2045, huh? Well, damn. Me, Zeo and Akira just started our journey a few days ago in 2019. Looks like we skipped 25 years and a few months during the trip."
"Wait, 2045? We've also somehow traveled back into the past? Or was it the future?" Grey questioned.
"No need to think about it too much." Gaius answered before putting away his phone. "But this is what Earth looked like in the past. Well, the Symphogear version of Earth, to be exact."
"Whoa..." The four chosen Mega Men, including Prairie, gasped in awe at what this world's version of Earth looked like in the past, way before their own technology in the very far future. Even Gunvolt and Copen were impressed.
"Wait... something's not right." Copen spoke when he saw something off about the city. "Where is everyone down there?"
"Huh?" The group responded before they took a closer look at the holo-screens. The city looked completely empty, along with several empty vehicles on the streets.
"Hey, you're right! Shouldn't there be people walking around the busy streets at this time of day?" Gunvolt questioned before turning to Kanade. "Is it because of some kind of threat lurking in the streets?"
"Hmm... Well I can think of one reason why the streets are empty." Kanade began with her hand on her chin. "And that would be because of-"
"Ma'am! We've detected a large horde of unknown beings from the north of the city!" Tulip reported.
"What?! Give us a visual!" Prairie ordered before the operator began to zoom in on the target location. And everyone gasped in shock at what they saw. Hordes of unknown beings of all colors, shapes and sizes lurking around the city streets, searching for humans to hunt down.
Kanade frowned at the beings that killed her family a long time ago. "Noise... of course."
"So those things are the Noise, huh?" Gunvolt said as he recalled what Kanade informed back in his world.
"What are the Noise looking for, exactly?" Prairie asked.
"They hunt down humans, turning them into carbon upon contact." Kanade answered, making Prairie and the four Mega Men gasp in shock at what those beings can do.
"That's horrible..." Aile remarked.
"Is there any way to stop them?" Vent asked.
"Only me and Serena can deal with them since we have the Symphogear system." Kanade answered. "Repelling them with normal means of attack will not work on them."
"But what about us?" Ashe questioned. "I mean we've got four Chosen Mega Men, two Kamen Riders, and then there's also GV, Copen and Reiko. Not to mention those two Legions that Gaius have in control."
"I think it might be doable. But just to be safe, try not be careful. We don't know if you'll be affected by them or not." Serena advised.
"Wait a minute, what if the Noise are planning to escape the city to look for other people in other locations? Are there at least any blockades stopping them?" Vent pondered.
"Tulip, see if there's any blockades surrounding the city." Prairie requested.
"Understood." Tulip nodded before pushing a few buttons until the holo-screens showed several blockades around the city being prepared by the military. "Looks like there are plenty of them around the city, along with the military with their weapons ready... Hold on, a helicopter is headed straight for the Noise horde!"
"What?!" Everyone exclaimed as they saw a white helicopter on the holo-screen, heading straight for the Noise.
"Is that pilot crazy?! There's no way they can handle that many Noise!" Ashe exclaimed.
"Wait. Let's see what happens first." Zeo advised before they continue to watch the holo-screen and saw something jumping out of the helicopter. "Looks like the pilot's dropping off two people out of the helicopter to deal with them."
"Commandos, maybe?" Aile guessed.
But, no one could expect what happens next...
"Balwisyall nescell Gungnir tron..."
"Rei Shénshòujìng rei zizzl..."
"?!" The moment everyone heard that unknown chant, everyone's eyes widen in shock, especially Kanade and Serena. Though Kanade had the most shocked reaction of all after hearing a very familiar name of a relic. "Gungnir...!?" Kanade said in shock.
"Wait, a Gungnir relic chant?!" Gunvolt exclaimed before turning to the operator. "Tulip, zoom in on those two people that the pilot dropped off!"
"Right away!" Tulip nodded before pushing a few buttons to zoom in on the two mysterious figures landing on the ground with their battlesuits ready. And everyone gasped at what they saw, especially Kanade when she looked at one of the familiar figures.
"It's her..." Kanade said. "The one I saved back at the Zwei Wing concert before my death a few years ago in this world... Hibiki... Tachibana..."
Hibiki has short light brown hair with orange eyes and wearing an orange, yellow and black bodysuit with a revealed stomach, a yellow and white short skirt, and orange and yellow short pants. She's also wearing black, white and orange rabbit ears-shaped headphones, along with a long flowing white scarf around her neck. She's also wearing white and yellow battle gauntlets over her white and yellow forearm gloves with yellow braces covering her knuckles. She's also wearing yellow and white armed boots with black heels. Lastly on her neck is a red and yellow crown-shaped crystal.
Right beside Hibiki is another girl with short black hair and teal green eyes, and wearing a black open jaw-like head gear with purple and grey horned headphones. She's also wearing a white and purple bodysuit with black and purple long gloves, along with a pair of black whip-like cables on her arms with a small mirror on its ends. She's also wearing purple heels along with a pair of dark purple bulky knee plates. Lastly on her neck is a red cross-shaped crystal. The weapon she wields is a large purple and white metallic folding fan with a circular mirror on its end.
"So these are the other Symphogear users of this world?" Prairie asked.
"Yes." Kanade confirmed with a nod. "And the one with light brown hair is the successor of my Gungnir relic, Hibiki Tachibana."
"Hibiki Tachibana, huh?" Gunvolt repeated as he briefly took a quick glance at his Azure Gungnir Relic Pendant he's wearing on his neck. "How did you know her name?"
"Well, Zeo, Gaius and Akira told me about it when I first met them." Kanade answered before turning to Zeo and Gaius. "Though now that I think about it, how DID you know her name?"
"?!" Zeo and Gaius stuttered in surprise when Kanade asked that question. They never did tell her how they knew Hibiki's name from the beginning. Though Serena chose to ignore that question since she already knew when she was still a spirit that Kirika, Shirabe, and her older sister Maria, had made new friends. However, she was feeling a bit curious about how Zeo and Gaius knew about it.
"Oh... well... uhh..." Zeo and Gaius struggled to answer while they scratched their chin with their finger.
"You both have a lot of explaining to do." Grey said with his arms crossed as everyone turned their attention to the Riders.
"If it's a very important secret, then we can let it slide until you're ready to tell us." Prairie told the Riders.
"No, no. It's best that we tell you guys about it now." Zeo replied. "It's just that it's kinda hard to explain."
"Let's see..." Gaius tried to explain. "It's like when you watched the entire action movie, then when you're transported into said movie that started from the beginning and told the characters of the entire plot. Though the characters there would either feel skeptical or have an existential crisis."
"Plus, our world never had stuff like this in real life." Zeo added.
"Ah, I see." Serena understood.
"So basically, it's like living in an action movie?" Kanade summerized.
"For you and Serena, it's an anime." Zeo answered. "And we've already watched the entire story of your world."
"As for everyone else, it's a video game." Gaius added. "And our lives are supposed to be normal... that is until the Dimensional Quakes, the Neo Time Jackers... well you guys get the idea."
"Why does my head hurt when you two explain something like that?" Ashe groaned with her hand on her head.
"Hey, we tried our best to answer. The least you could do is to just accept it anyway." Gaius defended.
Everyone in the room did feel a bit skeptical at what Zeo and Gaius explained, but they chose to agree and believe them for now. "Alright, we'll believe you for now considering how you both helped all of us." Vent accepted.
"Though honestly, we've all seen plenty of crazy stuff back in our worlds. So we're a little used to it." Aile added while everyone else nodded.
"That's good to know. Thanks, guys." Zeo smiled and bowed.
"So does this mean that you know the name of the one standing next to my kouhai?" Kanade asked.
"Kouhai?" Grey repeated in confusion.
"It means 'younger student' in Japanese." Copen answered.
"Ah, ok."
"As for the name of the one next to Hibiki, it's Miku Kohinata, relic user of Shénshòujìng, and Hibiki's best friend." Zeo revealed.
"Miku Kohinata... Shénshòujìng..." Gunvolt repeated as he glanced at Miku on the holo-screen.
"A Chinese relic this time, huh? Interesting." Copen commented with curiousity.
"Sorry we're late!"
Everyone turned around to see Kohaku arriving with her sister Reiko right beside her who's wearing a red and white soldier uniform, with a brown armband on her right and a brown short glove on her left. "We had to check up on the kids, just in case." Kohaku said.
"Jin is helping out Dr. Fleuve with his research, Kyota is with Thon, and Maria is assisting the nurses; Muguet and Rose." Reiko added.
"Understandable." Prairie nodded. "Everyone, Kohaku will be assigned as our new operator for the Guardians. She will be your eyes and ears during missions."
"I'm happy to help everyone out." Kohaku smiled and bowed. "It's the least I could do to return the favour."
"Glad to have you and your sister with us, Kohaku!" Kanade grinned.
"Welcome to the team!" Serena added with a smile.
"Take the navigation console on the right, Kohaku." Prairie pointed at said location.
"Yes, ma'am." Kohaku saluted before heading to the navigation console and took a seat.
"So, who are those two on the screen along with those weird creatures?" Reiko asked when she saw the holo-screen.
"That's Hibiki Tachibana and Miku Kohinata, the other Symphogears. And they're about to take the fight to the Noise." Gaius answered.
"Should we go down there and assist them?"
"Nah, I think they've got this." Kanade replied to Reiko with a smile. "Just sit back, relax and enjoy the concert."
"What concert?"
(Play BGM: All Loves Blazing by Hibiki Tachibana)
When the music began to play, everyone (except for Zeo, Gaius, Kanade and Serena) looked around to see where the music came from. "Is someone playing the radio right now?" Grey questioned.
"Wait... the music is coming from Hibiki! I think she's going to sing this time!" Joule answered.
"I wonder what her voice and song would sound like? I'm getting pumped just thinking about it!" Lola commented with excitement.
"Easy there, Lola. We're about to find out." Copen replied.
"Show me your strength to protect, Hibiki, Miku." Kanade thought as they continued to watch the holo-screen as the battle was about to begin.
Hibiki quickly rushed towards the large group of Noise while singing her song, while Miku quickly hovered and followed behind Hibiki while providing cover fire with several purple laser beams from her Armed Gear. Hibiki punched and kicked several Noise with her martial arts, followed up by sending a group of Noise airborne with a powerful uppercut, dashed towards the airborne Noise and unleashed a barrage of fast punches, and finishing them off with a powerful axe kick, sending them crashing onto another group of Noise as they disintegrate into ashes upon impact while Hibiki landed on the ground, transformed her right arm into a large war gauntlet with boosters, and proceeded to rush towards another group of Noise with her fist forward.
Miku began to fire several lasers onto another group of Noise while dodging lasers fired by a group of aerial Noise. She quickly retaliated by transforming her Armed Gear into a full circle composed of 14 fan segments and threw it onto the airborne Noise like a frisbee, slicing through them in its path.
Zhuīyì (Reminiscence)
Miku then flew up, caught her weapon when it circled back to her, and unleashed a stream of rapid-fire lasers onto the group of aerial and ground Noise.
Shǎnguāng (Flash)
With her targets eliminated, she tranformed her Armed Gear back to normal and flew towards Hibiki for support.
As everyone is watching Hibiki and Miku battle the Noise on the holo-screen, they were somewhat shocked, but impressed and in awe at how they fight and how they use their skills to easily take down the Noise.
Kanade simply chuckled and grinned at how Hibiki fought the Noise with her impressive martial art skills. "Hehe, that's my little kouhai. Old Man Genjuro definitely taught her well. And Miku's no slouch either."
"Hibiki's song is really good too! I think she might have potential to become an idol as well!" Joule added.
"Genjuro? Who's that?" Prairie asked.
"Genjuro Kazanari; Kanade's commander and Tsubasa's uncle. Plus, he also taught the Symphogears how to fight." Gunvolt answered.
"I see." Prairie understood before turning to Kanade. "So he's your commander of a secret division?"
"Yup, from the Special Disaster Response Team." Kanade confirmed with a nod. "A long time ago, me and Tsubasa traveled around the world to deal with the Noise threats."
"So it's not limited to just Japan... that's rough considering it's only just the two of you during that time." Copen commented before turning to Serena. "And you were not there to help them because of well... you know..."
"Yes..." Serena sadly nodded as she knew what Copen was referring to. "If I was still alive during that time, I'd gladly help Kanade and Tsubasa."
"Yeah, I know you would."
"Well, at least you got another chance to help out, Serena." Kanade assured. "And besides, you already did help us out during our missions in GV's world."
"You've played a very important part during our final battle with Eden when you and Kanade sang my song. And I thank you deeply for that." Joule complimented Serena.
"You're a very brave young girl, you know that? Your older sister and friends are gonna be so proud of you when we tell her that." Lola added.
"Thank you." Serena smiled.
"Heh, you reminded me and Vent about our battles with Slither Inc. along with their leader, Serpent. We were about the same age as you during that time, Serena." Aile said, remembering about her and Vent's past adventures.
"You're definitely going to grow up to be a fine young woman someday." Ashe added with a smile.
"I agree with Ashe." Reiko nodded.
"Thanks, everyone. I'll do my best to help out!" Serena bowed.
"With that said, can I comment on one thing, though?" Grey questioned as he glanced at Miku after seeing her skills on the holo-screen. "How did a girl like that, have that many laser beams?!"
"If I were to guess, it's because of her Symphogear and her Armed Gear." Zeo answered.
"How she uses her arsenal is all up to her." Gaius added. "She may have a powerful weapon, but her skills are just as important if she can use them well."
"Ah, I get what you're saying." Reiko understood. "No matter how powerful the weapon is, it's still just a weapon if you don't know how to use or master it properly."
"Exactly."
"Uh oh." Kohaku spoke, gaining everyone's attention.
"What's wrong, Kohaku?" Reiko asked.
"You guys might wanna see this." Kohaku replied as she pushed a few buttons on the console to zoom in on what's currently happening on the battlefield for everyone to see; a group of larger Noise appearing as the same size as a double-decker bus. They are also with another horde of smaller Noise, both ground and air, and they are a kilometer behind Hibiki and Miku. "I never expected to see large Noise like this, especially in a group. And they're approaching Hibiki and Miku from behind!"
"A pincer attack... that can't be good." Gunvolt frowned before turning to Kanade. "You fought these kinds of giant Noise before?"
"Yep, and they can be a real pain in the ass to deal with." Kanade replied.
"Wait a sec, the same white helicopter is coming back in to intercept the approaching Noise from behind." Kohaku informed as they saw what was on the holo-screen. "And it's dropping off three more people to assist them."
"More Symphogear users, maybe?" Prairie guessed.
"Could be." Zeo replied.
However, little did everyone know that Prairie is about to have her answer confirmed...
"Killter Ichaival tron..."
"Various Shul Shagana tron..."
"Zeios Igalima raizen tron..."
Everyone's eyes widen with surprise when they saw Prairie's guess confirmed on the holo-screen, while Serena gasped in complete shock when she heard the familiar voices of the latter two relic chants. "Shirabe?! Kirika?!" Serena exclaimed, earning everyone's attention.
"You know some of them?" Grey asked.
"Yes..." Serena replied with a nod as she looked at the two familiar figures, along with the third one, landing on the ground with their Symphogear armours equipped and their Armed Gears ready. "The one with black hair and light pink eyes is Shirabe Tsukuyomi, while the one with blonde hair and green eyes is Kirika Akatsuki."
"So those are your two childhood friends, right?" Copen asked Serena, who confirmed with a nod. He remembered about Serena's past after she explained it to him back at Gunvolt's world. Serena also mentioned those names to Gunvolt and Kanade.
Shirabe has black hair with light pink eyes, wearing a pink and black bodysuit with a pink short skirt. On her head, she's wearing dark pink and white cat ears-shaped headphones which are connected to a pair of large white, black and pink metallic twin-tails. She's also wearing white and dark pink armoured leggings; and a pair of pink, dark pink and white armoured sleeves on her arms while also holding a pair of pink, black and white yo-yos on her hands. And lastly on her neck is a red and dark pink crown-shaped crystal.
Kirika has short blonde hair with green eyes, wearing a green, dark green and black bodysuit with a dark green short skirt. On her head, she's wearing a light green, dark green and white head piece that's shaped like a witch hat with an 'X' on the lower left side of the head piece. She's also wearing a pair of green and dark green armoured shoulder pads with curved blades. On her legs, she's wearing a pair of white and light green striped leggings along with a pair of green, dark green and white armoured heeled shoes with curved blades. She's also wearing a pair of dark green and white long sleeves. Lastly on her neck is a red and dark green crown-shaped crystal. She's also wielding a large green bladed scythe on her hands.
"A scythe? Kirika has a scythe as her Armed Gear?!" Ashe exclaimed, remembering a certain reploid with a beam scythe back in her world.
"There's a scythe user in your world too, Ashe?" Kanade asked.
"Yeah. There's this one reploid we fought and he used a beam scythe." Ashe answered.
"A beam scythe, huh? Now that sounds cool."
"It would be, if he's not our enemy at first." Ashe sighed.
"And what are those things hanging on Shirabe's hair? Armour or weapons?" Grey questioned. "And also those things she's holding on her hands?"
"Your world never heard of yo-yos before?" Serena asked back to Grey, who shook his head in response. "That's... weird..."
"As for those metallic twin-tails on her hair and her yo-yos, that's the power of Shirabe's relic; Shul Shagana." Gaius revealed. "As for Kirika, her relic is called Igalima."
"Shul Shagana and Igalima, huh?" Copen repeated the relic names with curiousity, before turning to that third mysterious figure with Shirabe and Kirika. "And who is this one?"
"I... don't know her name, actually. Even though I did see her with Shirabe, Kirika and Maria when I was still a spirit." Serena replied.
"I'm with Serena on this one, since I don't know that girl's name either." Kanade added. "I did see her with Hibiki and Tsubasa when I was also a spirit." She then turned to Zeo and Gaius for an answer. "You two know who that person is?"
"Allow me to answer that one for you." Zeo responded as he looked at the third figure. "That girl's name is Chris Yukine, and her relic is called Ichaival."
"Chris Yukine... Ichaival..." Gunvolt repeated.
"And it looks like she's got a pair of revolvers as her Armed Gear." Aile commented as she saw said weapons Chris is currently wielding.
Chris has purple eyes with long white hair that reached her knees, separated into twin-tails that further split into three curly strands each, and an ahoge. She's wearing a red, black and pink bodysuit with a revealed upper chest. On her head, she's wearing some kind of red and black armoured head piece that covered from the top of her head all the way down to her ears. She's also wearing some kind of magenta and white hovering 'metal skirt' around her waist with a pair of 'metal wings' attached on the back of the skirt. On her legs, she's also wearing mostly white, red and magenta long leggings, along with red armoured shoes. She also has a pair of red arm plates on her arms over her mostly white and pink sleeves. Lastly on her neck is a red and magenta crown-shaped crystal. As for her Armed Gear, she wields a pair of red and silver revolvers that also has a small magenta curved blade on the underside of the barrel.
"Why do I get the strange feeling that those revolvers are gonna transform into something else entirely?" Ashe questioned when she looked at Chris on the holo-screen.
"Let's just say, you're about to find out." Gaius replied with a smirk.
(BGM Change: Take this! "All loaded" by Chris Yukine)
Everyone felt surprised when they heard the sudden change of music. "A music change? Who's singing this time?" Reiko questioned.
"Ah, it looks like the music is coming from Chris this time. Oh I can tell that her song is gonna be great!" Lola answered with excitement.
"I see." Copen responded as he looked at Chris on the holo-screen. "Chris Yukine, huh? Let's see what you can do."
"Kirika, Shirabe, go get 'em!" Serena mentally cheered for her childhood friends as everyone continued to watch the holo-screen as the second team of Symphogears are about to eliminate the next Noise horde.
Chris began her attack by opening up her side armour and unleashing a barrage of missiles towards the Noise.
MEGADETH PARTY
The attack prompted Kirika and Shirabe to rush in and take out the Noise while missiles destroyed some of the Noise, leaving behind a few dust clouds that confused the creatures. Kirika began to slice through a group of Noise left and right, then following up by holding her scythe horizontally, spun at high speeds with her rockets on the pauldrons, and sliced through another group of Noise like a spinning top.
Calamity Ring: Tinkerbell
Shirabe sliced through another group of Noise from the hidden blades of her yo-yos with her acrobatic skating skills, then followed up by spinning at high speeds, transformed her skirt armour into a buzzsaw, and sliced through more groups of Noise like a spinning top.
Delta Style: Charming Axel Killer
Chris saw an opportunity for a combination attack before jumping into the air, transformed her revolvers into a pair of tri-barreled gatling guns and fired towards the Noise and the spinning Kirika and Shirabe.
BILLION MAIDEN
When the bullets struck the spinning Kirika and Shirabe, the bullets were reflected as it was spread out and struck through the Noise instead. The aerial Noise began to close in on Chris, but she countered by performing a rush attack with her gatling guns before landing on the ground as Kirika and Shirabe stopped spinning while the Noise exploded behind them.
FIERCE MAIDEN
After that, they continued their assault on the smaller and larger Noise with Chris' bullets from her gatling guns, Kirika's scythe strikes, and Shirabe's yo-yo slashes while also unleashing large saw-blades from her metallic twin-tails.
Everyone on the Guardian Base were in deep shock and awe at Chris, Kirika and Shirabe's assault on the Noise along with a combination attack. While Ashe was wide eyes and jaw wide open in complete disbelief, especially when she saw Chris' power. "What... the... heck...?!" Ashe responded and still in shock.
"I thought Miku's attacks were insane, but this... this is more insane..." Grey remarked in shock.
"Though I gotta give credit to them for performing a combination attack like that." Copen complimented after watching what was on the holo-screens. "Chris' missiles to take out a group of Noise while using the dust left behind from the explosions to confuse them, then Kirika and Shirabe's high speed spinning attacks onto the confusing Noise, and lastly a bullet barrage from Chris as the bullets reflected from those two spinning at high speeds and shot down the Noise instead."
"So this is the power of the Symphogear system, huh? Makes me wonder if me and Copen's Armed Gear can transform into stuff like that." Gunvolt pondered.
"Won't know until we try it for ourselves." Copen replied. "And we've barely scratched the surface of it during our fight with Laius."
"Hehe, it's good to know that they still got it while I'm away." Serena smiled before pondering. "Though I wonder where's Maria-neesan in all of this?"
"Now that you mention it, I can't find Tsubasa anywhere." Kanade added.
"Huh, now that is odd." Zeo remarked.
"What do Tsubasa and Maria look like, exactly? And what are their relics? You two forgot to mention that part." Prairie asked the two Symphogears.
"Tsubasa has long blue hair and indigo eyes. Her relic is called Ame no Habakiri." Kanade answered.
"While my sister Maria, has long pink hair and cyan eyes. Her relic is the same one as I currently have." Serena added.
"Airgetlám, right?" Gunvolt guessed, earning a confirmed nod from Serena.
"Ame no Habakiri, huh? Sounds like a name from a japanese blade." Reiko commented.
"That's because it is, Rei." Kanade replied. "It's also the first relic found in this world a long time ago."
"Interesting..."
"I wonder how many relics are there in this world?" Aile pondered with her hand on her chin.
"So far, I have no idea. Could be more than a hundred, maybe? Fragments counts too." Kanade answered, making everyone (except for Zeo, Gaius and Serena) gasp in shock at the possible sheer number of relics and fragments hidden.
"I just hope that those relics and fragments are not within the wrong hands. That would be bad for all of us." Vent stated with a frown, earning an agreed nod from everyone.
"So what should be our next move for us?" Grey asked.
"Well I think Hibiki and the others got the Noise problem covered. We'd better find Old Man Genjuro first." Kanade suggested.
"You're not gonna greet Hibiki right now?" Gunvolt questioned.
"That would be weird if we land the airship now while me and Serena said 'Hi' to them right out of the blue. How would they feel?" Kanade questioned back.
"Okay... good point there."
"I'll have to agree with Kanade for now. I don't want Kirika and Shirabe to feel skeptical about our sudden appearances." Serena agreed.
"I'm sure we'll figure something out when we meet up with Genjuro first." Zeo assured. "Then we can-"
(BGM End)
The sentence was cut short when they heard the alarm from the airship while the lights flickered red. "I don't like the sound of that." Gaius frowned.
"Hey, who interrupted the music?! I was just enjoying it!" Lola complained.
"...Really, Lola? That's what you're complaining about?" Joule said in a deadpanned tone.
"Are we about to be attacked?!" Vent said.
"Kohaku, what's going on?!" Prairie asked.
"S-something is appearing at the west side of the city, just a kilometer away from the two Symphogear teams!" Kohaku informed with a bit of worry, until her eyes widen when she saw what's next on the monitor. "A-Are those... portals?!"
"What?!" Everyone exclaimed before looking at what's going on at the holo-screen. Three red pixelated portals suddenly appeared, and it began to pour out a horde of unknown air and ground grey creatures as they quickly head towards the Symphogear teams that are still busy assaulting the Noise.
Everyone gasped in horror at the unexpected turn of events, especially Zeo and Gaius since the portals looked very familiar to them. "That can't be right...! Why are there Red Gates here in this world?!" Zeo exclaimed.
"Red Gates?" Prairie repeated in confusion as all eyes were turned onto the Riders.
"Remember the chimeras we told you guys about? That's where those things came out of." Gaius explained, shocking everyone.
"Wait a minute, you're telling us that the chimeras came from those gates?!" Kanade asked while pointed at the Red Gate on the holo-screen.
"Yeah, and what's beyond those Red Gates is where the chimeras originally came from; the Astral Plane." Zeo answered.
"The Astral Plane..." Gunvolt repeated the name of the chimera's home.
"Then those creatures that came out of those gates are also chimeras?" Copen guessed.
"Those are just the grunts of the chimeras. The Abberation." Gaius answered.
"Does that mean that the ones we fought before are elite units?" Serena guessed, recalling the fight with Laius and the Axe Nemesis back in Gunvolt's world.
"That's right." Gaius confirmed with a nod.
"We have to close those Red Gates before the city is overwhelmed by the abberations, or worse, the chimeras." Zeo stated.
"Do you know how to close the gates?" Prairie asked.
"Leave that to me and my Legion. The astral chain will be able to close those gates for good." Gaius responded.
"However, we're gonna need some help while Gaius and the Legion do their job." Zeo added.
"But what about the other Symphogears?" Gunvolt asked. "I'm a little worried if those abberations attack them in an ambush."
"I'm with Gunvolt on that." Copen nodded. "What should we do?"
Zeo took a moment to ponder, before making a decision. The Symphogears may be strong, but even they have their limits if there's too much enemies to deal with, which could result in their energies being depleted overtime and leaving themselves vulnerable. "Okay, change of plans. Kanade, GV, you two are going to assist Hibiki and Miku. Copen, Serena, you two are gonna assist Kirika, Shirabe and Chris."
"Got it." Gunvolt and Copen acknowledged, while the two Symphogears gasped in surprise.
"Well, so much for meeting your friends later." Ashe remarked before turning to the Riders. "So I guess you're gonna need the help of the Mega Men to come with you?"
"Yep, all four of you." Gaius nodded before turning to Reiko. "Rei, you're staying here to protect the airship while we're gone."
"Understood." Reiko nodded back. "Me and the Guardians will keep the airship safe."
"By the way, are those Symphogears being watched by someone right now?" Grey questioned. "They did send the helicopter to drop them off at those locations to deal with the Noise."
"Ah, right... I forgot Old Man Genjuro and his team are watching them from inside their hidden base." Kanade realized.
"Then there's no doubt that they'll also see those abberations and those gates on their base monitors." Prairie stated. "Not only that, the moment you all go down there, he will see all of you as well, especially you, Kanade."
"Yep, we figured as much." Kanade sighed.
"But there's no point for us to do nothing. We have to risk revealing our identities and take action before it's too late." Serena stated.
"Just do us both a favour and don't call them by their names yet, except for Serena since she knows Kirika and Shirabe already." Zeo advised with Gaius nodding.
"Got it." Everyone acknowledged.
"Then this will be our next mission." Prairie began to summerize. "Gunvolt, Copen, Kanade and Serena will assist the other Symphogears in fending off any remaining Noise and the incoming abberations. Meanwhile, the Kamen Riders and the Mega Men will head towards the Red Gates and destroy them, preventing more abberations from spawning."
"I just hope we don't encounter any chimeras later on; but if we do, be prepared for a tough fight. But destroying those gates is my top priority." Gaius added, earning a nod from everyone.
"You four will be with me and Gaius on the Time Mazines. Should have enough room for us to ride on." Zeo stated to the Mega Men.
"And as for us?" Kanade asked, wondering what her team will do.
"Simple, you four are gonna free fall to your locations."
"What?!" Kanade's group exclaimed in shock.
"I mean, you can materialize your Symphogears while you free fall. You did stuff like that before, right Kanade?" Zeo questioned.
"Well... on some occasions." Kanade admitted. "But Serena, she's never done stuff like this before."
"No, not in my entire life." Serena shook her head.
"Me and Copen will make sure they land safely." Gunvolt assured with Copen nodding. "We did our fair share of free falling during some missions. Plus, we both have abilities to hover safely."
"Thanks, guys." Serena smiled at the two.
"Don't worry, Serena. We've got your back." Copen assured and smiled back.
"If there's any new developments during this mission, I'll contact all of you." Kohaku stated.
"And another thing, the Guardian Base now have communication access to your Zikan Phones, so we could contact each other in case something else happens." Prairie added. "Not only that, the Time Mazines have recently finished the repairs and the energies refueled."
"Thanks for the help, Prairie." Gaius replied.
"It's my pleasure." Prairie nodded back as she stood up from her chair and move her hand forward. "With that said, let's begin the mission!"
"Yes, ma'am!" Everyone saluted as the Riders team head for the loading bay where the Time Mazines are located, while the Symphogears team head for the sky deck to prepare for free fall.
Guardian Base, Loading Bay
"Ah, there you guys are! The Time Mazines are ready to go!" The mechanic named Silure reported as the group arrived.
"Thanks, man! We'll take it from here!" Zeo replied before Silure head for the controls to open the loading bay doors.
"Alright everyone, time to suit up!" Gaius declared as he and Zeo strapped their Ziku Drivers on their waists.
=ZIKU DRIVER!=
Then, Zeo and Gaius took out their Ridewatches, rotate the dials and pushed the buttons.
=ZI-O!=
=GEIZ!=
Then the two inserted the Ridewatches onto the belts, slammed the tilt button and prepared their transformation poses. Meanwhile, Vent and Aile took out Model X and Z, while Grey took out Model A. The four Mega Men gave each other a determined nod before preparing the Biometals to transform.
"Model X!/Model Z!" Vent and Alie shouted while raising the Biometals.
"Model A!" Grey and Ashe shouted while raising the Biometal together.
"Double Mega Merge!/Mega Merge!"
"Biolink Established! M.E.G.A System Online!" All three Biometals announced before they glowed in a very bright light, triggering their transformation.
"Henshin!" Zeo and Gaius shouted as they turned the belts in a 360 turn and triggered their transformation.
=RIDER TIME!=
=KAMEN RIDER! ZI-O!=
=KAMEN RIDER GEIZ!=
Soon after, Zeo and Gaius transformed into Kamen Rider Zi-O and Geiz, while Vent and Aile transformed into Mega Men ZX, and Grey and Ashe transformed into Mega Men A. Everyone began to board the Time Mazines (with Zi-O, Aile and Grey on one bike and Geiz, Vent and Ashe on the other) while the loading bay doors began to open as the bikes started to rev up the engines and prepared to take off.
"Alright team, let's Ragna-Rock and Roll!" Zi-O declared as he blasted off and out of the airship first, with Geiz following closely behind as they head towards the location of the Red Gates.
Guardian Base, Sky Deck
Meanwhile at the Sky Deck, Kanade, Gunvolt, Serena and Copen are prepared to free fall off the airship. "Well, this is it. The moment we jump off this airship, there's no turning back." Gunvolt stated. "Is everyone ready?"
"Ready for anything, GV." Kanade replied.
"I'm a little nervous, but I'll be okay." Serena also replied.
"Honestly, I don't know how the other Symphogears react when they meet us. But we're not gonna sit here and do nothing, it's time to take action." Copen also replied.
"Good to hear, all of you." Gunvolt nodded and smiled back.
"Then let's get started! I'm heading out first!" Kanade grinned as she began to jump off the airship.
"Wait, Kanade!" Gunvolt began to call out to her, before she jumped off and began to free fall towards Hibiki and Miku's location. "Ugh... gacking damn it." He facepalmed and shook his head before turning to the others. "I'd better go after her before she does something reckless again."
"You do that. Godspeed, Gunvolt." Copen nodded, prompting Gunvolt to nod back.
"We'll catch you later, Joule!" Lola added.
"Likewise, Lola." Joule replied back. "Let's get going, GV!"
"Already on it!" Gunvolt replied as he jumped off the airship and began to free fall right behind Kanade.
Copen and Serena watched the two free falling towards their destination, though Serena is feeling a bit nervous at how high they are currently at. "If you're scared, you can hold my hand so that we can jump together." Copen suggested and offered a hand.
"Thanks, Copen." Serena smiled back and gently held Copen's hand before they looked at the clouds.
"On three, start jumping off the airship." Lola told them. "One... Two... Three!"
And on the third count, Copen and Serena jumped off the airship together while holding hands and began to free fall towards Chris, Shirabe and Kirika's location.
"All team are en route towards their targets." Kohaku reported to her commander.
Prairie nodded back before turning to the holo-screens to watch their progress. "Good luck, everyone." She prayed, hoping for the mission to be successful.
Unknown Base
Meanwhile in an unknown secret base, another organization is also watching what was happening on the large monitors as it showed the three Red Gates and several unknown creatures coming out of them.
One of them standing and watching the monitors with his arms crossed is a tall, muscular man with gold eyes, spiky red hair and a goatee. He's wearing a red dress shirt with rolled sleeves, a pink tie with its end tucked into the left breast pocket of his shirt, light beige slacks, and black and blue athletic shoes. His name is Genjuro Kazanari.
Another one who is using the computer is a man with brown hair and eyes, and wearing a blue suit with a light blue tie and a pale yellow shirt. His name is Sakuya Fujitaka.
Another person using a separate computer is a woman with dark blue hair with purple eyes. She wears a blue jacket with a blue dress and black tights and shoes. Her name is Aoi Tomosato.
And lastly the one standing next to Genjuro is a young girl with short golden brown hair and light blue eyes. She's wearing a white open scientist coat over a cream colored dress with a dark green ribbon in the middle, and dark green short pants. She's also wearing brown and dark brown shoes over her long white socks. Her name is Elfnein.
"What in the world are those gates?" Genjuro questioned.
"I'm not sure, sir. It seems to appear out of nowhere and spawned these strange creatures." Aoi answered.
"Is it the Noise?" Sakuya guessed.
"I don't think it's the Noise or the Alca-Noise. It's something else entirely, like it came from another world, but not from the same world as the Noise." Elfnein answered.
"So how should we proceed with this, sir?" Sakuya asked his commander.
"...We'll have to tell the girls to deal with those creatures too, in addition with stopping the Alca-Noise." Genjuro answered.
"What?! But we don't know what those creatures are capable of!" Sakuya exclaimed.
"I know that, but we're running out of options at the moment." Genjuro replied. "It would be nice to have Tsubasa and Maria right now, but they're both in London performing a concert tour."
"Hmm..." Elfnein began to ponder as she glanced at the portal and the creatures that came out of it.
"What is it, Elfnein?" Genjuro asked.
"If we can somehow close those gates, it should stop those creatures from spawning." Elfnein stated.
"I see. But the question is; how to close that gate?"
"I'll see if I can find a solution as soon as I can."
"Alright, we're counting on you, Elfnein." Genjuro nodded to the young scientist.
"Sir! Several unknowns are coming down from the clouds! Two unknowns are headed for the portals while four unknowns are headed straight for the girls' location!" Aoi quickly informed.
"What?! Aoi, Sakuya, give us a visual!" Genjuro ordered.
"Putting them on screen now!" Sakuya replied as he and Aoi began typing on the computer as the large monitors revealed the unknowns. One monitor showed two large hoverbikes heading straight for the gate, while another monitor showed four unknown people free falling towards the Symphogears' location. Everyone was surprised at what is happening next. Could those unknowns be allies or enemies? "Who... are those people? We can't get a clear view on the four unknowns heading for the girls' location." Sakuya said.
"But we did get a clear view on the ones heading for the gate. And it looked like two large hoverbikes along with some passengers." Aoi added. "But, are they friends or foes?"
"What should we do, Genjuro?" Elfnien asked as everyone turned to their commander for an answer.
After giving it some thought while he looked at the monitors of the unknowns, Genjuro made a decision. "Let's not rush in blindly, we wait and see for now. Eventually, we'll find our answers."
Everyone nodded in agreement before they turned back to the monitors again to see what happens next.
Meanwhile back at the skies of the city, Kanade continued to free fall until she saw Hibiki and Miku still fighting the Noise, and also the approaching abberations slowly closing in on the unsuspecting targets.
"Hang in there, my little kouhai..." Kanade began to take out her Relic Pendant with a determined look on her face. "Help is on the way!" She then closed her eyes and began to sing her Relic Chant.
"Croitzal ronzell Gungnir zizzl..."
Kanade began to glow in a bright orange light as she materialized her Symphogear armour. And when her transformation is complete, she brought out her Armed Gear spear and began to dive faster.
Gunvolt closely followed behind Kanade after seeing her transform. "Well, I'd better join in too." He declared before taking out his Azure Gungnir Relic Pendant. "Ready for this, Joule?"
"I'm ready when you are, GV!" Joule responded.
Gunvolt nodded back before focusing his energy and shouting his transformation phrase. "Oversurge! Faust Robe!"
Gunvolt began to glow in a bright azure blue light as his Faust Robe began to materialize. And when his transformation is complete, he brought out his Armed Gear sword before diving behind Kanade.
"Sir, we've detected Aufwachen waveforms coming from the two unknowns heading for Hibiki and Miku's location!" Aoi informed.
"What?!" Genjuro exclaimed upon hearing that.
"We're identifying the waveform energies now!" Sakuya informed before the monitor revealed the name of the energies.
=GUNGNIR=
Everyone in the room were in complete shock that the identity of the waveform is the same relic as Hibiki Tachibana. "G-Gungnir?!" Genjuro exclaimed in deep shock.
"It can't be! Hibiki's supposed to be the only one with the Gungnir relic!" Elfnein added. "Now there's two more?!"
Genjuro did not expect two more unknown Gungnir users appearing out of nowhere as he's feeling a bit speechless at the moment. Wasn't Hibiki the only one with Gungnir? Or are there other fragments of said relic hidden?
Meanwhile back in the skies, Copen and Serena just witnessed Kanade and Gunvolt transform before diving faster towards their destination. "Looks like Kanade and Gunvolt had already made their move." Copen remarked before turning to Serena. "We'd better transform too."
"I understand, Copen." Serena nodded back before they took out their relic pendants.
"Lola, prepare to activate my Faust Robe!" Copen ordered.
"You got it, Boss! Been wondering if we get to try out that armour again!" Lola responded.
Serena and Copen then took a deep breath before they sing their Relic Chant.
"Seilien coffin Airgetlám tron..."
"Ignite! Faust Robe!"
Serena and Copen began to glow in a bright white and red light as they materialize their armours. And when their transformation is complete, Serena is wearing her Symphogear armour while Copen wears the Faust Robe. They prepared their Armed Gears and dove faster towards Chris, Kirika and Shirabe's location.
"Sir, two more Aufwachen waveforms detected! And its from the other two unknowns heading straight for Chris, Kirika and Shirabe's location!" Sakuya informed.
"What?! There's more?!" Genjuro exclaimed.
"Identifying the waveforms now!" Aoi informed before the monitor revealed the name of the waveforms.
=AIRGETLAM=
Everyone in the room were in complete shock yet again when it was revealed to be the same relic as Maria Cadenzavna Eve. "Airgetlám too?!" Genjuro exclaimed in deep shock again.
"First two Gungnir users, and now two Airgetlám users... Who are these people...?" Elfnien questioned with curiousity.
"Sir, I think now would be a good time to tell the girls about this unexpected development!" Sakuya advised to the commander.
Genjuro nodded before he began to contact the Symphogear team. "Everyone, you've got incoming unknown Gear Users dropping from above the clouds and heading straight for your locations! Do not engage unless they attack first! Also, there's a group of unknown creatures that are approaching from the west city area! It's not the Alca-Noise, but they're still dangerous so you'll have to eliminate them on sight!"
"Unknown creatures that are not the Alca-Noise?" Shirabe responded.
"Wait, did you just say other Gear Users?! This had better not be a joke, old man!" Chris also responded.
"I wouldn't joke about something like this!" Genjuro replied. "The Aufwachen waveforms and the cameras confirmed it! Be ready for anything!"
"Roger!" The Symphogear team responded.
Meanwhile back at the city, Hibiki just dodged a few attacks from the Alca-Noise before countering with several jabs followed up with one powerful straight punch, destroying them into dust. "Miku, are we hearing this right from Master? About the other Gear Users and the unknown creatures?" She asked.
"I don't think Genjuro-san would joke about something like this either!" Miku replied as she dodged more lasers from the Alca-Noise before countering with her cables and whip them into dust.
Cánxiǎng (Reverberation)
"We'll have to be ready for anything!" Miku added, earning a nod from Hibiki as she punched another Alca-Noise, sending it crashing to another group of Alca-Noise as they disintegrate upon impact.
When Hibiki looked at the west side of the city however, her eyes widen in shock as she saw something approaching. "Uhh... Miku? I think the unknown creatures are here!"
Miku quickly looked at what Hibiki is looking before her eyes widen in shock as she saw that the abberations are quickly approaching them. "Those... are definitely not the Alca-Noise!" She exclaimed. "What are they?!"
"I don't know, but Master said that those things are dangerous! I don't think I can reason with them either!" Hibiki replied back as she began her battle stance.
"Then we'll have to destroy them!" Miku declared as she prepared her Armed Gear. "Just try not to be reckless, okay Hibiki?"
"I won't." Hibiki nodded back. "Same for you too, Miku!"
The creatures quickly rushed towards the girls while materializing their blades and claws. But before they could reach them, something large fell from above and crushed them into red pixels before fading away. Hibiki and Miku blinked in confusion after seeing the approaching creatures suddenly eliminated. They saw that the large object was actually a yellow and white spear as they began to look up, and what they saw at the top was a woman with long flowing and feathery red hair, wearing a red and orange battlesuit. The girls' eyes widen in deep shock as they recognize who that person was, especially Hibiki.
"H-Hibiki...! Is that...?!" Miku spoke in shock.
"K-Kanade-san...?!" Hibiki stuttered in deep shock as she spoke the name of that familiar person who thought to be dead during the fated Zwei Wing incident a few years ago. She was also the same person who unintentionally gave her Gungnir when a piece of her armour latched deep into Hibiki's chest during the battle against the Noise, allowing her to become the new user of Gungnir two years later. "T-That's impossible! I thought she died!" She exclaimed. "The last time we saw her is when she was a spirit and gave us her Phonic Gain to stop Yggdrasil!"
"So, you remembered that moment too, huh? My little kouhai." Kanade spoke to Hibiki before jumping off her spear as it shrunk back to normal size and flew back onto her hand before landing in front of Hibiki and Miku. "Honestly, I should've stayed in the afterlife after helping you, Tsubasa, and your friends. But, it looks like the wheels of fate had other plans." She said as she hung her spear over her shoulder.
"Eh?" The girls responded.
"It's a long story." Kanade sighed before smiling. "But I promise I'll tell you everything when I meet up with Old Man Genjuro again."
"If you say so, Kanade-san." Miku nodded. "You're not a spirit right now?"
"Nope. Pure flesh and blood." Kanade confirmed. "So, what are your names? I never did get a chance to know you two."
"Oh, right. I'm Miku Kohinata. It's a pleasure to properly meet you."
Kanade nodded before turning to a stunned Hibiki, who is still having trouble processing what's going on. "Something wrong, little kouhai?"
"O-Oh! It's nothing! I'm fine!" Hibiki quickly shook her head and assured that she's okay. "I'm Hibiki Tachibana, 17 years old! My birthday is September 13th, my blood type is 'O', and-"
"Hibiki, she only wanted your name." Miku sighed.
"O-Oh... oops, ehehe..." Hibiki nervously chuckled while rubbing the back of her head.
"Hehe, it's alright." Kanade chuckled in amusement. "Still, it's nice to finally know the name of my successor of Gungnir."
"Yeah. I remembered that your Gungnir fragment was latched into my chest during the Zwei Wing concert." Hibiki replied as she recalled the fated incident, making Kanade wince with guilt.
"I see... Is that fragment still within you now?" Kanade asked.
"Not anymore." Hibiki shook her head. "The scar is still on my chest, but last year, Miku was able to purge the fragment out of my body with her Relic, Shénshòujìng. The Gungnir I'm using now is originally from Maria-san."
"Phew... thank goodness for that." Kanade sighed with relief... until she blinked a few times when she mentioned a certain someone. "Wait, Maria? As in, Maria Cadenzavna Eve?"
"Y-Yes? How did you know that name?" Hibiki asked.
"Serena told me about her." Kanade answered. "Guess she didn't mention that Maria used Gungnir before."
"Serena?" Hibiki and Miku responded in confusion.
"Serena Cadenzavna Eve, Maria's younger sister." Kanade explained. "Didn't she tell you about her younger sister yet?"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"EEEEHHHH?!"
"You two didn't even know about that?!" Kanade gawked.
"Maria-san never mentioned that part!" Hibiki answered.
"I never knew Maria-san had a younger sister!" Miku added.
"Well... that's odd..." Kanade remarked with her eyebrow raised. How could these two never knew about Maria's sister?!
"Hold on, I remember seeing a young spirit talking with Maria at Yggdrasil!" Miku recalled seeing a young girl with long brown hair and teal eyes during their recent final battle. "Was that Serena?"
"Yep, that's her alright." Kanade confirmed with a nod, making the girls gasp in surprise.
"Wow... so Maria-san had a younger sister..." Hibiki commented.
"How did we not know about that from the start?" Miku questioned.
"Maybe you never asked?" Kanade pointed out.
"Ooohhh..."
"Anyway..." Kanade began to walk pass the girls as she prepared her spear. "As much as I hate to end our chat, we've got enemies to deal with first."
Everyone saw another horde of abberations quickly approaching the group with their weapons ready. Hibiki and Miku nodded at each other before turning to the creatures, walked next to Kanade, and prepared their battle stances. "We're not gonna let those creatures destroy our world! Let's do this, girls!" Kanade declared with her spear pointing forward.
"Hai!" Hibiki and Miku nodded as they prepared to fight the approaching abberations.
But before they could take a single step forward, a powerful blue lightning bolt suddenly crashed down upon the approaching abberations, destroying them all with one powerful lightning shockwave. The group shielded their eyes for a moment from the blast before looking at what came out of the lightning bolt. Kanade grew a small smile when she saw who appeared as the dust clouds dispersed. It was her partner Gunvolt, who stood up as he pulled his sword out of the ground and glared at the group of abberations. "Took you long enough to get here, GV."
Gunvolt quickly rushed towards the abberations with lightning speed and slashed through every single one of them in half before appearing in front of the girls as he sheathed his sword, while the abberations exploded into red pixels.
"Kanade, could you at least wait for me before jumping head-first towards danger recklessly?" Gunvolt crossed his arms and gave an unamused glare at her.
"Sorry, kinda wanted to save them as soon as I could." Kanade replied as she scratched the back of her head.
Gunvolt sighed before turning to the others. "Sorry about Kanade, she can be a bit reckless at times when someone's in trouble."
"I understand." Miku nodded. "Hibiki's like that as well."
"O-Oi, Miku!" Hibiki retorted, making Kanade chuckle and Gunvolt raising an eyebrow.
"GV, this is Hibiki Tachibana, successor of my Gungnir. And this is her friend, Miku Kohinata, Gear User of Shénshòujìng." Kanade began the introductions. "Girls, this is one of my new friends I met along the way, his name is Gunvolt the Azure Striker. But I usually call him GV for short."
"Gunvolt..." Hibiki repeated.
"Azure Striker...?" Miku also repeated before asking Gunvolt. "Wait, are you one of the other Gear Users?"
"Guess Old Man Genjuro saw all of that, huh? But yeah, GV's also a Gear User. And its called the Azure Gungnir." Kanade confirmed.
"Azure Gungnir?!" They exclaimed in shock at the familiar relic name.
"I'll explain how I got this relic later. But for now..." Gunvolt assured them before turning to the remaining abberations and Alca-Noise slowly approaching the group. "How's about we teach these monsters a lesson about disturbing this peaceful city?" He asked as he prepared his Armed Gear and his handgun.
Kanade gave Hibiki and Miku a determined nod, making them look at each other for a moment on what do to. As much as they wanted to know how Gunvolt acquired a Gungnir fragment, it'll have to wait because saving the city comes first. They nodded at each other before turning back to Kanade and gave her a nod before everyone turned to the approaching abberations and the remaining Alca-Noise and prepared their Armed Gears once more.
"Oversurge, Azure Striker! Time for lighting to strike down upon these monstrosities!" Gunvolt declared as his sword surged with blue lightning before rushing towards his targets with Hibiki, Kanade and Miku right behind him.
Meanwhile with Chris, Kirika and Shirabe, the hordes of Alca-Noise were quickly being eliminated by them including the large ones. "Shirabe, how long will those unknown Gear Users or those creatures arrive?" Kirika asked as she slashed a group of Alca-Noise with her scythe.
"I'm not sure either, Kiri-chan. But we have to be ready for anything." Shirabe replied as she sliced another group of Alca-Noise with her yo-yos and saw-blades.
After Chris shot down another group of Alca-Noise with her revolvers, she suddenly heard several footsteps and noises approaching. "Wait a sec, is that...?" Chris said as she and the others turned towards the source of the noise coming from the left. It was a horde of approaching abberations, including the ones that fly and with a crossbow arm. "So those are the unknown creatures, huh? Geez they look ugly..."
"These things look straight out of a horror movie..." Kirika remarked nervously. "I'd rather fight the Alca-Noise instead of these guys..."
"Either way, we can't let them invade this city. It's time to take action!" Shirabe declared as she and the others prepared their Armed Gears to battle against the approaching abberations.
"I'll take care of the ones that fly! You two handle the ones on the ground!" Chris ordered her partners.
"Hai!/Dess!" Shirabe and Kirika responded with a nod.
But before the girls could engage their targets, something from above crashed onto the approaching abberations with a large impact, eliminating the small group. They girls felt surprised, but still kept their guard up as they dust clouds slowly dissipated. There, they saw a young man with short white hair in a white and red battlesuit, slowly standing up with his shield ready as he glared at the approaching abberations.
"Who is that guy?" Kirika asked her teammates.
"I've never seen him before." Shirabe added.
"I'm guessing this must be the one of the other Gear Users the old man warned us about." Chris answered, before blinking in disbelief. "Wait, a guy is using a Gear System?!"
"Dess?! I thought only girls can use the Gear System! I've never heard or seen a guy use it before!" Kirika exclaimed.
"Either way, should we engage?" Shirabe asked.
"The old man told us not to engage him unless he attacks us. Let's just wait and see what he's doing first." Chris answered as they watch the mysterious Gear User's next course of action.
As the abberations rushed towards the young man, he quickly detached his shield from his arm and threw it like a frisbee towards his targets, slicing through them in its path, including the airborne ones. He then followed up by taking out his handgun and fired fast burning lasers at the creatures before firing at his spinning shield as the lasers reflected onto the creatures, piercing though their bodies as they slowly disintegrated into dust. After that, he holstered his handgun before catching his shield as it circled back to him and attached it to his right wrist. The girls were in awe at how that mystery Gear User single-handedly eliminated the abberations with ease.
"Wow... that guy is really strong..." Kirika remarked.
"The way he uses his Armed Gears are astounding..." Shirabe added, before she and Kirika noticed Chris taking a few steps forward. "Chris-sempai?"
"Is she planning to talk to him, Shirabe?" Kirika whispered.
"I think so, Kiri-chan." Shirabe replied as they watched Chris starting a conversation with the mystery Gear User.
"Hey, you!" Chris spoke to him, earning his attention. "Are you one of the other Gear Users?"
"I take it that your commander saw our arrival?" The young man asked back, earning a nod from Chris. "My name is Copen Kamizono, the Luminous Avenger. We're here to protect this city from those invaders."
"Copen Kamizono?" Chris raised an eyebrow.
"Luminous Avenger?" Kirika and Shirabe repeated.
"And what's your name? Along with those two." Copen asked Chris while also looking at her teammates.
"I'm Chris Yukine." She introduced before gesturing to her teammates. "And these two here are Kirika Akatsuki and Shirabe Tsukuyomi. Which division are you from, Copen?"
"A peace-keeping force called the Guardians. The commander ordered us to provide assistance." Copen answered.
"The Guardians?" The girls repeated.
"I've never heard of a division like that before." Kirika said.
"Neither do I, Kiri-chan." Shirabe added. "But he did help us wipe out those strange creatures."
"Those strange creatures you saw earlier are called the Abberations." Copen explained. "You're lucky that you three didn't encounter a Chimera yet."
"Chimera?" The girls repeated.
"Basically the stronger versions of those creatures. The abberations are just the grunts." Copen pointed out.
"I see, so that's what those things are called." Chris understood, with Kirika and Shirabe nodding. But then Chris began to ask about something. "Wait a sec, if you're one of the unknown Gear Users, then where's the others?"
"Oh, you're talking about one of my partners?" Copen replied. "She'll be here soon. Oh and Kirika, Shirabe? She seems to know the two of you quite well."
"Eh?" The girls he mentioned responded.
After a few seconds, Copen began to smile as he sensed his partner arriving from above. "I'd look up if I were you." He said before looking up, prompting the others to look as well. And what they saw, made the girls' eyes widen in shock, especially Kirika and Shirabe. The girl who slowly floated down from above and smiled at the girls was none other than Serena Cadenzavna Eve, younger sister of Maria Cadenzavna Eve, former member of F.I.S, and the original Airgetlám Gear User.
"S-S-Serena?!" Shirabe exclaimed.
"D-D-Dess?!" Kirika also exclaimed.
"Wait a damn minute... didn't I see this girl before at Yggdrasil?" Chris recalled seeing that girl talking to Maria during their recent final battle.
"So you did see her before." Copen replied. "Allow me to introduce my partner, Serena Cadenzavna Eve, younger sister of Maria Cadenzavna Eve, and also Shirabe and Kirika's childhood friend."
"Maria's... sister?!" Chris exclaimed.
"Wait, you didn't know about Maria having a younger sister yet?" Copen questioned with his eyebrow raised. "I thought she, Kirika or Shirabe told you about that already."
"T-They never told me about that yet!" Chris answered, but then everyone heard noises coming from behind, prompting them to look, and saw that more abberations are approaching them. "Tch! More of those bastards?!" She muttered as she changed her Armed Gear into a pair of red and black crossbows and aimed at her targets.
"Wait, let me handle them." Serena told the group before she raised her Armed Gear and flew up as she summoned multiple purple orbs around her. And when she moved her knife forward, the orbs began to unleash a massive barrage of light arrows, completely decimating the abberations with ease.
WARM†LUNALIGHT
The girls were in awe at Serena's Symphogear power, while Copen simply smiled at how she handled the situation on her own. She may be the youngest Gear User, but she's more than able to hold her own battles. With her targets eliminated, she floated back down to the ground and in front of the group to greet them. "That should hold them off for a while." Serena informed.
"Heh, as expected from a brave young Gear User like you." Copen smirked at Serena, making her smile before she turned to her two childhood friends.
"S-Serena? Is that really you?" Kirika asked.
"Yes, Kirika, Shirabe. It's me." Serena replied with a nod with her hand on her chest. "I'm not a spirit this time, I'm pure flesh and blood once more."
"But... how are you manage to come back to life?" Shirabe asked.
"It's a very long story. I was supposed to stay in the afterlife with Mom, but I guess fate has other plans with me." Serena answered before smiling. "But I will say this, it's good to back and to see you two again."
Kirika and Shirabe were a bit silent and unsure at how to answer Serena's response, but they eventually began to shed tears of joy, ran towards Serena and embrace her. "Serena!" They cried.
"Kirika! Shirabe!" Serena also cried while hugging them back.
Copen can't help but smile at the tearful reunion between childhood friends. Considering that Serena helped saved his sister Mytyl back in his world, this is his way of repaying the favour. Too bad that Serena's sister Maria is not here at the moment, but there's always next time. As for Chris, she was completely speechless with her mouth slightly open and confused at what is currently happening. She was about to step in, until Copen put his hand on her shoulder, gaining her attention. He shook his head, telling her not to interrupt the moment yet and allow the three to embrace each other for a little while longer. And after a short while, the three broke off their embrace and wiped away their tears.
"You know Serena, I've gotten a lot taller than last time!" Kirika said while using her hand to measure her own height.
"Hehe! I'd say you've grown about this much." Serena giggled while also measuring with her hand, but slightly at a lower height than Kirika.
"No, no, no! I've grown by at least thiiiiis much, I swear!" Kirika insisted with her hand raising a bit higher.
"Either way, you're still the same Serena as we remembered a long time ago." Shirabe commented.
"Yes. I still am." Serena nodded before turning to Copen. "Though I owe it all to Copen for taking care of me during my trip back here."
"O-Oh... Umm... It was nothing... Really..." Copen replied while slightly looking away with his face feeling a bit red and his hand on the back of his head.
"Wait... are you blushing?" Chris teased with her arms crossed.
"N-No! You're just imagining things!" Copen retorted, making the girls giggle. "Ahem! Anyway..." He quickly shook his head and cleared his throat. "Serena, this is Chris Yukine. From the looks of it, she's the one who took care of Kirika and Shirabe."
"It's nice to meet you, Chris." Serena greeted with a bow. "And thank you for taking care of them for me."
"O-Oh... You're welcome, Serena." Chris nodded back... with her face also feeling a bit red and looking away slightly. "W-Well someone had to take care of these two while your older sister is busy."
"Now who's blushing." Copen smirked with his arms crossed.
"S-Shut up, baka!" Chris retorted, making the girls laugh.
"Oh my god, am I witnessing a double tsundere moment from Boss and Chris?! Wait till I tell GV and the others about this!" Lola thought with glee after witnessing at what she saw from Copen's relic 'X' crystal on his chest.
Suddenly, the group heard more noises coming behind them, prompting them to turn around to see more abberations and the remaining Alca-Noise approaching them. "I hate it when they interrupt our moment." Shirabe frowned as the group prepared their weapons once more.
"Then let's give them a taste of death!" Kirika declared as she twirled her scythe.
"Serena, go with Kirika and Shirabe! Chris, you're with me!" Copen ordered the group.
"Got it!" Serena nodded.
"Since when you became the leader?!" Chris retorted at Copen. "You know what, never mind! I'd rather shoot those Alca-Noise and abberations to kingdom come anyway!"
"Good enough for me." Copen smirked at Chris' response. "Alright, let's go!" He declared before using the boosters on his legs and back to rush towards his targets while Chris, Serena, Kirika and Shirabe followed behind him.
Unknown Base
Meanwhile back at the unknown base, Genjuro and the others are in complete shock at what they've witness on the monitors. First, Kanade's sudden reappearance along with a male Gungnir User assisting Hibiki and Miku, and then the male and female Airgetlám Users assisting Chris, Kirika and Shirabe, with the latter two working alongside the young female Airgetlám User like they knew each other before. But Genjuro's biggest shock is still Kanade's reappearance as he still recalled her death during the Zwei Wing concert a few years ago. How is it possible that she's able to come back to life?
"Am I seeing what I'm seeing, Aoi?" Sakuya asked while in shock.
"I am, and I still can't believe it..." Aoi replied while also in shock. "Kanade... alive...?"
"How is this possible that she was revived?" Elfnein asked the commander, who is still in deep shock.
"I'm not sure... but the only way we can find that answer, is from Kanade-kun herself." Genjuro replied while slowly trying to calm down.
"I see." Elfnein nodded before she watched the male Gear Users fighting the creatures from the monitors. "Though I've never expected to see male Gear Users before. I thought only females can use the Gear System."
"Then I guess it's rare to see male Gear Users lately since we only have Hibiki-kun and the other girls to use the Gear System." Genjuro responded while also watching the footage. "Maybe those two have been injected with LiNKER and have a high compatibility to use them."
"We'll just have to ask them about it if we get the chance." Elfnein said, while gazing at the male Gungnir user unleashing lightning powers on the monitor. "That power... is that... Alchemy...?"
"Agreed." Genjuro nodded before turning to one monitor showing the two hoverbikes heading towards the Red Gates. "If Kanade-kun's with them, then that means that third unknown team is going to do something about those gates."
"Do you think they know what they're doing?" Sakuya asked.
"We'll have to observe and see what happens." Genjuro replied. "In the meantime, if they begin to contact their commander, see if you can trace their communications so that we can establish a transmission."
"Sir, are you planning to contact with someone we don't know?" Aoi questioned.
"If Kanade-kun's involved, then I'm about to take that risk." Genjuro answered.
"Understood." Aoi nodded as they continue to watch the footage on the monitors.
Meanwhile back with the Riders and the Mega Man, they drove on the Time Mazines airborne until they eventually saw the three Red Gates at a far distance, along with the large horde of abberations coming out of said gates rushing towards the other two teams. "Well there's our targets." Ashe pointed out. "So do we get to go in with guns blazing?"
However, Zi-O and Geiz chose to brake, stopping the Time Mazines and surprising the Mega Men. "Wait, we're stopping?! What happened?!" Ashe questioned.
"As much as I want to take out those abberations head on, it's still reckless. And by the time we reach those Red Gates, we'll be exhausted and left vulnerable." Geiz explained.
"Sorry, but I have to agree with Geiz." Zi-O added. "We need to try a different tactic."
"What's wrong with being reckless?" Ashe questioned.
"It's the kind of mentality that'll get you killed, Ashe." Vent warned. "I thought you knew that already."
"He's right, you know." Grey agreed. "We didn't come here to die early."
"Alright, fine..." Ashe sighed. "So what's the plan?"
"Hold on, give us a moment to think." Zi-O replied.
"Though you'd better make it quick. The others won't be able to hold them off for too long." Aile cautioned.
"I know." Zi-O replied as he took a moment to ponder while looking at the three Red Gates; one from the center, one from the east, and one from the west. He then look at the only route the abberations took to rush towards the other teams that are busy fighting. After much thought, he had an idea. "Ashe, Grey, do you two mind becoming bait?"
"Eh?"
"I want the two of you to cut off their attack route and distract them for as long as you could, while I attack the west gate from the left and Geiz attacking the east gate from the right." Zi-O explained.
"I get it. And during all of that, me and the Legion will destroy the east gate first, and then the center, and lastly the west." Geiz understood.
"So we're basically cutting off their reinforcements so that the other teams will have an easier time to wipe them out?" Grey guessed.
"Yup. You and Ashe will be the distractions, while me and Geiz will attack the other gates while they're not looking, or when they have less guards." Zi-O confirmed. "And once we're left with the west gate, we'll close in and eliminate the last remaining abberations. And if we're lucky, the other teams will join in on the assault once they've eliminated the abberations and the Noise from their areas."
"But that means it's just Grey and Ashe against an endless horde of abberations. Do you think they can handle it?" Vent questioned.
"Did you forget who you're talking to, Vent?" Ashe questioned back. "Before I became a Mega Man, I was part of the Hunters and a treasure hunter. So I'm used to these kinds of adventures. And besides, I've got Grey and Model A with me, so we'll be fine."
"Well someone has to keep an eye on you in case you get into too much trouble." Grey told Ashe.
"Hehe, yeah. And I'm really grateful for that." Ashe smiled back. "I'm not ready for my story to end just yet, just like you who wanted to follow your own destiny."
"True. We make our own destinies and our own stories." Grey agreed with a smile.
"Well said, you two." Aile smiled at Grey and Ashe before they turned to the Riders.
"Hope your strategy of yours works, Zi-O, Geiz." Grey said.
"So don't keep us hanging for too long!" Ashe added with a grin.
"We won't." The Riders nodded.
"Good luck, you two." Vent wished Grey and Ashe the best of luck.
"And be careful!" Aile added.
"Same to you guys too!" Grey replied before turning to Ashe. "Alright, let's go!"
"Right behind you!" Ashe nodded back before she and Grey jumped off the Time Mazines and landing in front of the abberations' attack route. After that, they begin their assault, firing numerous rapid and charged buster shots onto the creatures.
"Okay, time for us to get into position." Zi-O told Geiz. "I'll contact Kohaku so that she can give us the signal while they watch Grey and Ashe distract the abberations."
"And when she does give the signal, that's when we'll begin our ambush. Got it." Geiz understood with Vent nodding.
"We'll catch you guys later." Vent said to Zi-O and Aile.
"Good luck, you two!" Aile replied back before they drove and split up, heading towards their respective positions.
"Kohaku, this is Zi-O. I'm gonna need your help with our plan." Zi-O contacted on video call via his Zikan Phone.
"I'm all ears, Zi-O. What's the plan?" Kohaku complied.
"We've sent Grey and Ashe to cut off the abberations' attack route while distracting them. I need you to keep an eye on their progress until they received enough attention so that me and Geiz will begin our ambush on the east and west gates respectively."
"Oh, I see what you're planning! That way, the two gates will have less guards to defend since the abberations will be too focused on Grey and Ashe."
"Yup. And as for Geiz and his Legion, he'll destroy the east gate, and then move to the center, and lastly the west. Plus, it should give GV and the others some breathing room since we're cutting off their reinforcements. We need you to give the signal when the time is right, okay?"
"Understood. I just hope those two can handle the endless horde of abberations."
"Don't worry, Kohaku. They've been through a lot back in our world and managed to pull through, along with our help. I'm sure they can handle it." Prairie assured.
"I see. That's good to know, ma'am." Kohaku nodded and smiled before turning back to Zi-O. "Alright, you'd better get into position. I'll keep the voice line open so that I can give the signal."
"Roger that, we're counting on you." Zi-O complied as he turned off the video call while leaving the voice call open as they soon arrived and landed the Time Mazine at a rooftop near the left side of the west gate, and away from sight from the ground and air abberations.
"Okay, now all we can do is wait and hope for the best." Aile said.
"Yeah. But anything can happen, so be ready for anything." Zi-O replied.
"Got it." Aile nodded as they watched the west gate from afar.
"Alright, we're in position. Zi-O and Aile should arrive at their post by now while contacting Kohaku." Geiz said after he landed his Time Mazine at a rooftop near the right side of the east gate and away from sight from the guards.
"Hope this plan goes well without any problems." Vent said.
"I hope so too, but anything can happen at any time. So be prepared for it if does happen." Geiz said with caution as he turned his Zikan Phone's voice call open.
"Noted." Vent nodded as they watched the east gate from afar.
Unknown Base
"Did you manage to trace the comms line?" Genjuro asked Aoi after they witness on the monitor one of the hoverbike riders having a conversation using his phone.
"Just a bit more..." Aoi replied as she was busy typing a few buttons to trace the signal until... "Got it! I've traced the signal! Revealing the address now!"
Everyone looked at a monitor as they showed the address that revealed: 'Guardian Base'.
"Guardian Base? What kind of base is that?" Elfnein questioned.
"Never heard of a base like that before." Sakuya remarked before turning to his commander. "Sir, should we establish a transmission to them?"
"Not yet." Genjuro replied as he watched the monitors showing the hoverbikes in two areas and one monitor showing two people in battlesuits fending off the creatures. "Right now from the looks of it, they seems to be implementing a strategy to deal with those creatures and the gates."
"Those two... I've never seen those kinds of armours before." Aoi remarked, and also watching the same monitor. "I wonder who made those?"
"Guess we'll have to ask them too when we get the chance." Genjuro replied.
"So what kind of strategy are they planning, sir?" Sakuya asked.
"From what we've seen so far, those two are distracting those creatures while cutting off their attack route." Genjuro summerized. "And when the time is right, the other two teams will ambush the east and west gates since those creatures will be too focused on the ones causing the distractions."
"Cutting off their attack route...?" Elfnein repeated, until her eyes widen in realization. "Of course! They're also giving Hibiki-san and the others an easier time to deal with the creatures and the remaining Alca-Noise by stopping the reinforcements from reaching their locations!"
"Exactly." Genjuro smirked and nodded back. "Kanade-kun's made some trustworthy allies during her trip, and I'm looking forward to meeting them. For now, we'll have to wait and see if they can pull off their strategy. One simple mistake could cost everyone's lives."
"Hope they can pull this off." Sakuya said as they continue to watch the monitors to see what happens next.
Meanwhile back with Grey and Ashe, they continued to shoot down numerous abberations as more and more of them rushed towards the Mega Men. "Well the plan seems to be working, but our current forms won't do much good." Grey remarked as he fired another charged shot at a group of abberations.
"If you're thinking what I'm thinking, then let's go for it!" Ashe replied with a grin as she fired homing lightning blasts onto multiple air and ground abberations.
"You two are gonna use A-Trans, right?" Model A guessed. "But the others said that we're gonna need to attract a lot of attention from those abberations."
"I know." Grey replied. "I was going to transform into Bifrost. Something big should get their attention."
"Huh, I was actually planning to transform into Vulturon." Ashe added. "The sound of rock and roll will definitely get their attention."
"Hmm... you know, both are actually good choices right now. They can get the job done." Model A agreed.
"Then let's use both of them!" Grey declared as he and Ashe holstered their hand cannons.
"Time to give those creeps something to remember us by!" Ashe also declared.
"A-Trans!" They shouted as they transformed in a flash of light.
Grey transformed into a massive light blue robotic bipedal crocodile with red eyes, a large head and long tail, and ice spikes on its claws and large teeth. This is Bifrost the Crocoroid.
Ashe transformed into a robotic bipedal green and blue vulture with a lanky frame and skeletal traits, long arms that can emit energy to improvise wings for gliding, and wielding a green electric guitar-shaped controller. This is Vulturon the Condoroid.
Ashe-Vulturon hopped onto Grey-Bifrost's back and strummed her guitar loudly, unleashing a large sonic boom onto the abberations, destroying them upon impact. "Hello abberations! Are you ready to rock and roll?!" She shouted, gaining the abberations' attention. "Well today's your lucky day, cause I'm gonna rock till you go boom! Now, come get some!" She taunted with several more sonic booms from her guitar, destroying more abberations, while Grey-Bifrost let out a powerful roar, gaining more attention from them as they quickly approached Grey and Ashe.
G-Bifrost unleashed a powerful ice breath as it froze the large group abberations in place before being destroyed by his tail swing. He also spit out several spike wheels from his mouth onto the creatures, slicing them in half. He then spat out several ice shards onto another group of abberations, freezing them in place before crushing them with one large bite.
"D-Did you guys just saw what I just saw?!" Sakuya exclaimed after they saw what appeared on one of the monitors.
"We all did, and I still can't believe it!" Aoi replied in shock.
"Those two transformed into a robotic crocodile with ice powers, and a robotic vulture with the powers of sound and rock?!" Elfnein exclaimed.
"Well... I did not expect something like that from those two..." Genjuro remarked while staying calm from the shock. "This day's been full of surprises."
Guardian Base, Command Center
"Did Grey and Ashe transform into a robotic crocodile and vulture?" Kohaku questioned after they witnessed what was on the holo-screen.
"This is the power of Model A, the ability to transform into Falseroids by obtaining their DNAs." Prairie explained. "Falseroids are mechanical animals with humanoid traits."
"I see. And I thought the combination of Model X and Z were amazing." Reiko commented, recalling Vent and Aile's power she witnessed back in Gunvolt's world. "Are there any other Biometals besides Model X, Z and A?"
"There's actually 4 more Biometals we used to have before they were stolen." Prairie answered. "Model H, the power of the Wind Mega Man; Model F, the power of the Flame Mega Man; Model L, the power of the Ice Mega Man; and lastly Model P; the power of the Shadow Mega Man. Model X can fuse with one of those four Biometals, enhancing its abilities even further."
"Interesting... It's a shame that those Biometals were stolen. We could really use those powers in our fight against the Neo Time Jackers." Reiko said.
"I agree." Prairie nodded. "But sadly, those Biometals are still in our world. We could use everyone's help to get those Biometals back if we ever get a chance to go back."
"You can count on me and the others to help, ma'am." Reiko nodded back.
"I'll help out too in any way I can." Kohaku added.
"Thank you, Reiko, Kohaku." Prairie smiled before they turned back to the holo-screens as they saw Grey and Ashe gaining attention from a lot of abberations from the east, west and center Red Gates and also cutting off their attack route, allowing GV, Copen and the others to fight a bit easier. And after one minute when a lot of abberations are too focused onto Grey and Ashe... "Alright, I think now's the time to spring the ambush! Kohaku, give the signal immediately!" Prairie ordered.
"Yes, ma'am!" Kohaku complied before she began to contact the ambush teams. "Zi-O, Geiz, Vent, Aile, the time is now! Begin the ambush!"
"Got it!"
Rooftop near the West Gate...
"Alright Aile, here we go! Let's hit hard and hit fast!" Zi-O declared as he revved up the Time Mazine before speeding off towards the gate. He quickly detected a few airborne and ground abberations upon arrival at the gate and destroyed them with the Time Mazine's beam vulcans and homing lasers. "I'm surprised that Sougo and the others never knew that the Time Mazines have onboard weapons like these, only relying on their Battle Modes. I'll save that mode as a last resort." He thought as he continued to shoot down a few more abberations, with Aile providing cover fire with her ZX Buster.
Aile then began to jump off the Time Mazine and fired a few rapid buster shots before following up with a charge shot at one group of ground abberations before landing safely on the ground and continued her assault. "Hey, Zi-O! You think we could get a bike like yours someday?" Aile asked while still fighting.
"I'll see if I can ask Copen and Dr. Fleuve if it's possible! Though we're gonna need plenty of materials first!" Zi-O replied while firing more homing lasers.
"Fair enough!" Aile replied back as she shot down another abberation from behind her before moving on to deal with another group. "Hope Vent and Geiz destroy those two gates soon while we thin out the numbers until they arrive..."
Rooftop near the East Gate...
"Ready, Vent?" Geiz asked as he equipped his Legatus on his wrist and revved up his Time Mazine.
"I'm all set! Now let's take down that gate!" Vent replied before the Time Mazine began speeding off towards the gate that's now being guarded by fewer air and ground abberations.
"Cover me from the airborne enemies for me! I've got special plans for the ground units!" Geiz advised Vent as they arrived at the gate and began to drift past the energy arrows fired from the airborne abberations.
"What special plans?" Vent questioned as he fired at his aerial targets with his ZX Buster with rapid and charged shots.
"You'll see!" Geiz smirked as he called forth the Sword Legion from the Legatus and materialized the astral chain.
He then commanded the Legion to move to the far left while they keep moving towards the group of abberations and the Red Gate. When the chain reached the creatures, they dragged them until they reached the gate where they circle around it as Legion and Geiz riding the Time Mazine moved to opposite sides before crossing over, tightening the gate and binding the creatures. "Vent, prepare to deliver the finishing blow on the abberations from above!" Geiz requested, prompting Vent to nod back before high-jumping out of the hoverbike and above the Red Gate. With one final push, Geiz and the Legion bound the chain even tighter until the gate exploded into pixels while the abberations are left trapped within the astral chains. "All yours, Mega Man!" Geiz yelled, prompting Vent to change his weapon into the ZX Saber, charged it to full power, and unleashed a powerful downward saber crash, eliminating the entangled abbearations in one strike while also causing a powerful shockwave that destroyed the last remaining abberations around the area.
With the Red Gate and the abberations destroyed, the Sword Legion dispersed back into the Legatus while Vent quickly jumped back onto the Time Mazine before speeding off towards the center Red Gate, located just a kilometer away from their current position. "So that's how you and the Legion destroy the Red Gate!" Vent said. "Would be nice if we had more of the Legatus and the Legions."
"Well, Copen did agree with me on making another Legatus." Geiz replied. "Maybe I should ask Dr. Fleuve for assistance too, though finding more Legions is the tricky part."
"Fair enough. Alright, time to deal with the next Red Gate!" Vent declared.
"Then it's full speed ahead!" Geiz activated the Time Mazine's boosters and quickly sped off towards the next gate.
Guardian Base, Command Center
"The west Red Gate has been destroyed! Looks like Geiz and his Legion completed their task!" Kohaku reported after witnessing the destruction of the first Red Gate on the monitor.
"That's good to know." Prairie smiled and nodded.
"Looks like the strategy paid off." Reiko added. "If they keep this up, this battle will go smoothly."
"I agree." Prairie replied, but then began to ponder. "But... why do I have a strange feeling that something else is about to impede their progress?"
"You felt that uneasy feeling too, Prairie?" Reiko responded. "Don't worry, I feel the same way. I'll be ready to deploy if something goes wrong."
"Please do, Reiko." Prairie nodded back, until everyone heard a loud pinging sound. "What was that?"
"Uh... ma'am? We're receiving a transmission from an unknown source." Tulip reported after seeing what's on her console.
"Can you identify the address first?" Prairie advised.
"One moment." Tulip replied as she typed a few buttons until it revealed the receiving address. "It's from the Squad Of Nexus Guardians; also known as S.O.N.G."
"S.O.N.G? Is that some kind of secret organization?" Reiko pondered.
"Hmm... Kanade never mentioned any other secret divisions except the Special Disaster Response Team." Prairie remarked with her hand on her chin.
"Should we respond to the transmission?" Kohaku asked.
Prairie began to ponder on how to respond to the situation. They were originally planning to visit Kanade's commander Genjuro and the rest of her division about Gjallarhorn and their current roles as multiversal saviours. S.O.N.G however, is a different story since they knew little about that organization, not even Kanade or Serena. But she was feeling a bit curious about who they are, but she'll have to do it carefully since she can't tell if they are either friends or foes. "Alright, we'll respond to the transmission, but only by voice contact. We're not sure if S.O.N.G are our allies or enemies." Prairie declared with caution.
"Understood." Kohaku nodded before typing a few buttons to receive the transmission. "The voice transmission is now active, ma'am. You're free to speak to them."
Prairie nodded back before she began to respond to S.O.N.G's comms line. "This is Commander Prairie of the Guardians. We've received your transmission, please state your name and occupation."
"This is Genjuro Kazanari, the commander of S.O.N.G. Are you the one who are allied with someone named Kanade Amou?"
Everyone in the room had their eyes widen in shock when they heard a familiar name that Kanade told them earlier. "G-Genjuro Kazanari...?!" Prairie exclaimed. "Are you Kanade's commander for the Special Disaster Response Team?!"
"The very same one. Though the Special Disaster Response Team is now changed to S.O.N.G due to some recent events that happened last year."
"I see... Don't worry, any friends of Kanade is a friend of ours." Prairie assured.
"That's good to know. Thank you for taking care of Kanade for us. Though I wonder why she's been revived?"
"It's a very long story so that explanation will take a while. But for now, the Guardians would wish to form an alliance with S.O.N.G to help resolve this current situation."
"Well more help is much appreciated since Tsubasa and Maria are busy in London, so we'll gladly accept your alliance."
"Thank you, Genjuro." Prairie nodded. "So that's where Tsubasa and Maria are... Guess Kanade and Serena will have to wait for their reunion for another time."
"You seem to know who those unknown creatures are since these beings do not look like the Noise or the Alca-Noise." Genjuro stated.
"Alca-Noise? Kanade never mentioned those kinds of Noise before." Prairie questioned.
"Let's just say that a lot has happened ever since Kanade's death."
"I see. How were you able to locate our comms line, by the way?"
"We saw what's on our monitor one of your field operatives using a cell phone contacting you earlier. Then our operators Sakuya and Aoi quickly traced the signal."
"And that's how you're able to find us. Your operators are quite talented." Prairie praised.
"Heh, I'll take that as a compliment. They know how to get the job done."
"Good to know. Anyway about the identities of those unknown creatures, those are called Chimeras. The smaller ones you've witnessed earlier are called the Abberations, basically the grunts of the chimeras."
"Chimeras and Abberations, huh? And what about those mysterious red portals?"
"Those are called Red Gates. And what's beyond those gates is the chimera's homeworld, the Astral Plane."
"What?! Gates to their homeworld?!" Genjuro exclaimed.
"Correct." Prairie grimly nodded. "That is why I've sent our teams to eliminate the chimeras and to destroy the Red Gates. And if those Red Gates are left open for too long..."
"An endless army of chimeras will come marching out of the gates for an invasion." Genjuro finished, earning a nod from Prairie. "Well, we're very glad to hear that you're here to help us out."
"No problem at all, Genjuro. The Guardians are an independent peace-keeping force, protecting the world from disasters and outbreaks."
"So that's who the Guardians are... Never heard of a force like that before."
"Well... there's a reason for that, actually."
"...What do you mean?"
"Before I explain everything, is it alright if I can access the video transmission?" Prairie requested.
"Very well, since we're already allies." Genjuro accepted. "Aoi, turn on the video feed."
"Kohaku, turn on our video feed as well." Prairie requested.
"Yes, ma'am." Kohaku nodded back before she typed a few buttons, until the video transmission became active, revealing Genjuro's face on the holo-screen.
"So this is the face of Kanade's commander... you look like a hardened veteran from the military." Prairie commented upon seeing Genjuro's face.
"And you're the commander of the Guardians?" Genjuro raised an eyebrow after seeing Prairie's face. "I never expected someone so young to lead a peace-keeping force."
"Well, my older sister Ciel was the original commander of the Guardians. She asked me to take over leadership, just in case something happened to her." Prairie explained.
"I see... If you're here, then something did happen to her."
"Unfortunately, yes." Prairie answered sadly with a sigh. "We've lost contact with my sister during a relic excavation a long time ago. We've tried really hard to find her, but to no avail."
"Oh... I'm sorry about what happened to your sister..." Genjuro apologized.
"Yes... But despite the loss of my sister, with the help of the other Guardians and my friends, I've managed to keep them together, stronger than ever."
"I'm sure your sister will be very proud of your achievements." Genjuro assured with a smile.
"Thank you, Genjuro." Prairie smiled back before she became serious. "Now then, I believe it's time I start explaining the Guardians' motives and our arrival."
"You have my full attention." Genjuro nodded in response. "Sakuya and Aoi will keep an eye on the other Symphogears on the monitors while you begin your explanation."
"Understood." Prairie nodded back before she turned to the operators. "Kohaku, Tulip, Gardénia, Marguerite, keep an eye on Kanade and the others while myself and Genjuro begin our discussion."
"Yes, ma'am!" The operators responded.
"I'll be with my sister to assist with the operations." Reiko requested.
"Go ahead, Reiko." Prairie gave a nod of approval to her before she walked towards Kohaku to help. Prairie then turned back to Genjuro and took a deep breath before she began her explanation. "Now then, let's start from the beginning. It all started with the ones named Zeo Naotora, Akira Naotora, and Gaius Cornell, residents from a world called Prime Earth..."
Unknown to the heroes however, a mysterious onlooker on a rooftop is watching over the entire battle without being seen. He's wearing a dark grey outfit with yellow horizontal stripes under a dark purple cloak with a hood over his head and hiding his eyes. "Hmm... where did those portals come from? Some kind of alchemy? And what were those creatures? Those do not look like the Alca-Noise that we usually summon." The mysterious figure pondered about the unexpected turn of events that he witnessed. "I must report back to the remaining Bavarian Illuminati remnants immediately about my discovery..."
Unfortunately, he was unable to make his move when a stray red energy arrow suddenly pierced through his heart from behind before the arrow detonated into an explosion, instantly killing him. And the one that shot that arrow was a floating humanoid with red glowing eyes and black skin with a red-accented, black-and-grey armor-like plating covering its head, shoulders, lower arms, and entire bottom half that looked like an armoured skirt. It has a red glowing core on its chest and wielding a large spike bow.
The humanoid began to float to the edge of the rooftop and witnessed the battle unfolding to search for its next targets; until it sets its eyes upon a girl with the automatic crossbows and a boy with a gun and shield. Its eyes began to narrow as these two people will be its next targets.
It seems that our heroes are about to run into some unexpected trouble down the line, even after they formed an alliance. Will they be able to overcome this threat while they continue to fight the abberations and the Alca-Noise? Will Geiz and his team be able to destroy the remaining Red Gates in time? Until then... Only time will tell...
