I don't own Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, Rick Riordan and J.K Rowling do.

Chapter 2

"Sh, sh. It's okay." Poseidon, yes the god, was consoling a sobbing Sally Jackson.

They were sitting in the bedroom of her cozy, little apartment. The walls were a warm coppery colour that gave you a comforting, homely feeling. Sally was lying on the floor, crying into her hands, with Poseidon's arm around her shoulders. Bits of the torn up letter were scattered on the floor.

"Sorry," Sally said, wiping her tears away. "I-It's just that I've always wanted a child but now..." she trailed off.

Poseidon felt sorry for his lover. He wanted to give her a child, the least he could do for such an amazing person, but the letter came and it seems that it wouldn't be a possibility. He couldn't stand to see Sally like this.

"Come Sally. Why don't we go for a walk." Poseidon suggested as Sally started to calm down.

"If we're going to Montauk just let me get changed. Ok?" she said with a small smile as she started to get up.

"Not Montauk" he replied with a bit of teasing, "just a walk." The way he said it was normal but the way he smirked meant that this was definitely not just a walk. "Come on," he said, leading her out the door.

It was a chilly night. You couldn't see the stars because of the clouds, but the moon shone right through. Lamp posts illuminated the roads, which were full of people, even though it was late. Well, New York is the city that never sleeps.

They kept walking at a casual pace. To Sally it seemed like a normal walk where they would go wherever they felt like. To Poseidon this walk was a plan to get his lover a child.

After a while, the couple arrived at an orphanage after turning a corner. It was a bit run down and had a sign that read 'Sunshine Orphanage.'

Sally let out a small gasp after she realized what Poseidon was suggesting. "You think so?" she asked him, the uncertainty clear in her voice.

"You can get a baby, then you can raise them, they'll be your child. You'll be helping the kid. I can even make them my blood child if you'd like?" He said the last sentence in a quiet voice with a warm smile on his face.

"You would do that for me?" she asked him. It didn't take long for her to nod her head in agreement and start walking towards the building.

knock knock knock.

"Coming!" was the response.

A kind looking woman opened the door. She wore a light blue dress and had her blonde hair pulled back into a loose ponytail.

"Hello, I'm Olivia. Sorry I took so long. Can I help you?" she asked.

"Hello Olivia. We're looking to adopt a baby, " said Poseidon.

Olivia looked happy, but a sad undertone was present in her face. "Sure, right this way. I had twins come in about a week ago. Perseus and Harry Potter. A friend of their parents dropped them off. They were in a car crash. The parents died, but luckily the babies survived, though they do have identical scars above their right eyes. Sort of in the shape of a lightning bolt." She lead them inside the house.

"Ah, these children sound wonderful, but we were looking for just one-" Poseidon got cut off by Sally. "Actually I think two will be fine. I mean they are twins. How could we separate them?"

"That's true," started Olivia, "I haven't been able to keep them apart without them screaming at the top of their lungs. The only time they don't mind is when their sleeping but even then, they sleep better when in the same room. Mind you, it's almost impossible to tell them apart. I'm pretty sure they're identical twins."

They had arrived at the play room and saw the children playing with blocks. They were making a boat, which made Poseidon smile.

Thinking the mist would cover it up, he made the boat a miniature sized real boat. The kids clapped in excitement.

He noted Olivia's gasp but assumed the Mist would take care of it.

"So, um, what are your names?" she asked a little guarded.

"This is Sally Jackson and I'm Poseidon," he stated, just as guarded.

She gasped again and bowed. "My lord, please forgive me. I have never been in the presence of a God before"

After Poseidon got over his shock he asked, "What is your name in our world?"

"I am Olivia Martinson, daughter of Athena, my lord." she responded, still bowing.

"How are you here without monsters coming after you? I know for a fact that Athena's children have quite a strong scent." he asked curiously, motioning for her to stand up.

"Well, I prayed for my mother to help me. Before I went to camp, I was on the run. When I arrived there, I found that many people were on the run before they got to camp," Olivia explained, "So looking back I decided to open an orphanage for both half-bloods and mortals. Then there was the scent problem. My mother thought it was a good idea so she helped me put a barrier around this house. It's similar to the camp's boundaries. This only blocks the scent though so sometimes they wonder around here and I kill them before they get too close."

"Are they demigods?" Sally asked. That might change things. After all, she loved Poseidon.

"No," Poseidon answered, "they have a magical aura, but not a godly one. Maybe they can see through the Mist, but definitely not demigods."

"Anyway, I think we're getting off track. Could we adopt them? Also, um, Athena never told us about this place. I know of a few kids on the run. I can send them here if you'd like, then you can get them to camp, " Poseidon suggested.

"That would be wonderful!" she exclaimed, nodding enthusiastically.

"I'll flash us and the boys home, okay?" Poseidon asked Sally. She just nodded while Poseidon went to pick up the boys.

"It was nice meeting you Olivia, bye." Sally said with a smile as Poseidon flashed them out of the orphanage and into Sally's apartment.

"Lets do the blood bond before I leave. I can feel Zeus is getting suspicious." Poseidon said, looking up as if he could see Zeus watching them.

"Will it hurt them?" Sally asked tentatively.

"Of course not. There is a special ritual I can do so that they won't feel a thing." Poseidon replied.

Sally looked visibly more relaxed with that answer and headed to the kitchen, saying she wanted a snack.

Poseidon placed the children on the couch and summoned a dagger.

He started chanting in Greek as he brought the dagger up to his wrist. He made a small slit, enough for ichor to come out. He continued to do it on the other side too. After doing the same to the boys, he put their wrists together so that the blood and ichor would mix.

The boys didn't really change much, it seemed like they were rejecting the ichor.

Poseidon stopped and took his wrists away from the boys. He tried to find their aura. It was small, too small for a half-blood, more like a quarter-blood.

Poseidon stood there for a few seconds before getting an idea. Athena would be proud of me, he thought.

He changed to his Roman form. He didn't always like it, but he could use it in this case. He looked like a warrior now rather than a fisherman.

Now Neptune, he put his wrists back to the boys' wrists. He gave as much ichor as he could until their auras looked about average.

Once he took his wrists away there was a huge flash of golden light. When the flash died down, Perseus and Harry were still sitting on the couch, though they looked just a bit different.

The most noticeable difference was their hair. Before it was a pitch black colour, now it had a blueish tinge to it, like the oceans' depths. Their eyes were different too, but you had to look very close to see it. Their eyes were two different colours. The ones on the left were, instead of an emerald green, a sea-green that looked like the calm ocean.

Poseidon then felt their aura and was surprised. Their auras were very large for babies. He quickly healed them and himself before calling Sally to say bye.

When Sally walked in he gave her a kiss on her lips then disappeared in a sea-breeze , leaving the slight smell of the ocean.
