It was the day of the pain attack tsunade had joined the fight only to sense multiple of konoha's strongest dead.

This made her angry real angry so angry she felt as if she could tear the world in two the village her granddad had worked so hard too build and protect was all going to come crashing down.

But now on her watch she charged into battle, she went straight for the deva path but she didn't notice the asura and preta path right next to her, this would be her downfall as a spike went into her side and multiple missiles launched at her as the preta path blitzed and grabbed her head while the Asura path held her in place.

She tried activating 100 healings but she couldn't it wouldn't work she felt her chakra drain as her soul was being sucked out of her body.

Meanwhile shizune was watching it all happen, she watched as tsunade a soul was sucked from her body and she turned wrinkly and pale, she watched as her teacher… no mother had been killed.

She wouldn't stand for it even if it meant certain death she rushed in throwing poison senbon at the paths of pain that were in front of her of course this would do nothing to them as she pulled out her tanto and did hand signs as a thick cloud of poison emerged.

This of course wouldn't hurt the paths in the slightest but she thought it did, she felt a new found strength as she summoned as shadow clones and rushed at the preta path the one who killed her mother.

She sliced at it expecting it to be weakened by the poison but nope it dodged her attack and need her in the gut just for her to get almighty pushed right into the asura paths blade, she coughs up blood as she starts crying she couldn't avenge tsunade she had failed.

As she closed here eyes she started to think about how many different ways she could have saved tsunade there were many she wished she had a second chance.

'I-I wished I would have trained harder done everything better but I guess I lost that chance huh' she thought as she chuckled at the end and closed her eyes for her final rest.

But that was not the end of her story.

"Mmmhn" she said as she opened her eyes fully expecting to be dead but she was very surprised when she saw tsunade caring for her it seemed she had a high fever.

But wasn't she dead? Didn't she and tsunade die in the pain assault what's going on? Her mind was running at 1000000000000000900 miles per hour until… she passed out.

"SHIZUNE SHIZUNE WAKE THE EVERLOVING FUCK UP" shizune heard tsunade scream which both worried and frightened her

"What's wrong tsunade-sama?" Shizune questioned as she was pulled into a tight bear hug

"I-I thought you were going to die" tsunade said with tears streaming down her cheeks she couldn't stand to lose another loved one

"Haha" shizune chuckled "don't worry about me dying tsunade-sama I'll become so strong no one will be able to hurt us" shizune said raising her fist in the air like a certain blonde headed boy.

It had been a week during that time she spent as much time with tsunade as she possibly could because soon she would start training and she wouldn't stop for a long while.

It was finally time for her to start training first though she needed to learn how to summon katsuyu after that she can begin pyshical training and training to increase her chakra reserves so she could get 100 healings.
