Me own nothing

Chapter 7

Percy's POV

I popped my back as I stretched, breathing in the fresh morning air that blew through the open window. Yesterday was one of the most awesome days I'd ever had. The feast was amazing. There was chicken roasted to perfection, potatoes the most glorious soft on the inside and crispy on the outside and so much more. There was even desert! And lots of it too. I really need to find the cooks and thank them if they're going to do this for me pretty much every day for all my meals (maybe show them how to get a bit creative with the blue food colouring too).

The headmaster is a bit nuts though. I mean, who tells a bunch of teenagers or soon-to-be-teenagers "don't go to the forbidden forest" with a smile on their face. He's completely off his rocker. And I'm pretty sure he thinks we're sheep. I mean, he said, and I quote, "Off you trot." Seriously, who says that?

I pulled back the the dark blue curtains and swung my legs over the single bed. The one thing this house has that the others lack, is blue. It's like it's meant for us. It's just so perfect.

I rubbed my eyes and headed to the bathroom after getting a jeans and shirt. What? They said that we have to wear the uniform on special occasions.

I tip-toed to the bathroom door going past the other occupied dorm beds, not wanting to wake them up.

I was extremely happy with myself, that is, until I opened the bathroom door to find myself faced with my brother brushing his teeth.

"Oh come on!" I exclaimed, the whiny tone prominent in my voice, "One day! Just one day! That's all I ask for!"

"Yeah...," Harry said through the toothpaste, "Not gonna happen." he deadpanned with a smirk.

He always, and I mean always woke up first. I think I'm going to stay up the whole night on one of the weekends just so I can see his stupid, surprised face when the roles are reversed. Though I'd probably look like a devil from lack of sleep. Oh well, can't be winners all round.

We both finished washing up and went out to check the time on the clock in our dorm.

This might sound weird because I'm sure many have told you that identical twins don't like dressing the same and stuff. I guess some don't, but we sure do. Our mom's probably the only person we know that can tell us apart no matter what. So, when my brother saw me carrying my clothes in the bathroom, he went to get his same pair. It was hilarious when they tried to figure out which is which and we just went along with it.

We checked the time to see it was 5:30. A personal best.

"So, according to the prefect-" Harry started.

"Chester" I put in.

"- Chester," my brother said rolling his eyes, "that showed us our dorms yesterday, breakfast won't start until 6:30. We have about an hour. What do you want to do?"

"First things first, I need to ask you something." I said with fake seriousness, "Can we use the telepathic stuff instead of talking. It's less tiring, and we can practice more." I said quickly and hopefully.

"Really Perce? Do you really think we haven't practiced enough?"

I gave him the baby seal eyes, even though I knew he could do the same, I also knew that he knows I really want to do it. It would be so cool to prank people like that. All the possibilities!

"Okay," he said, "But only in class and when necessary. I say necessary, as in if we don't want anyone else to hear." he continued, using the fake authority tone.

"And pranks," I added.

"And pranks," he agreed with a grin.

"Now what?" I asked, plopping down onto my bed.

Harry just shrugged his shoulders and did the same, "Well, we've worked on our wizard abilities. Do you want to try the Godly ones?"

I thought about it. It would be cool. We did do spells and potions but not much with out Godly powers.

"We could go to the lake to practice our water powers, and check on Sheldon too. I'm also pretty sure he mentioned something about merpeople. Don't we have their hair as cores?" I said.

"Yep. But incase I forget, just remind me that we need to remember to practice our earthshaker and stormbringer abilities too."

Wow, I almost forgot about that myself. Poseidon's like the full package.

"Sure, now let's get going."

/Do-you-ship-Pernico/Nicercy?\

Being in the water again felt great. It made us feel so much more alive and reactive. It sharpened all our senses and lead us to our friend. Sheldon was pulling us to the deeper part of the lake. He wanted to show us the merpeople.

Sheldon was just adorable. He was like an old puppy, if that made any sense. He's so energetic and knew the lake like the back of his... tentacle? Yeah, he's really cute. The only problem is that he insists on calling us 'lords' no matter how many times we tell him not to. What's worse is little lords. He just has to rub it our faces that we're shorter than most people our age. Harry pointed out that that isn't the actual reason, which I knew, but it still irritated me.

As we were being pulled along by the tentacles wrapped around our arms I realized we weren't being affected by the water pressure. Huh, must be a Poseidon thing. That brings me to another thing. If Poseidon is a king... then I'm a... prince? I screwed up my face at the image of me in a crown and all these weird flowing materials around me. Nope, not gonna happen. But if Zeus is the King of the Gods... and I'm his nephew... what does that even make me? What about Hades... Wait! Would Persephone be my aunt... because she's married to Hades, my uncle... or would she be my cousin... because she's Demeter, my aunt's, daughter...

That just gave me a headache. I'll just drop it.

By the time I was jarred out of my thoughts, I caught sight of the beautiful underwater home of the merpeople. It had marvelous stone houses all lined neatly together. Several had pale green demons tied to steaks outside their homes. I think they're called Grindylows. There were beds of different types of seaweed surrounding them. There were children playing in the street, but with tails. I saw an old lady swimming with her Grindylow, a merman holding a bundle of seaweed and a couple of children playing ball, but hitting the ball with their tails. It was pretty awesome.

"Why aren't we going closer?" Harry asked. Sheldon's tentacles had let go of our arms and we were now just floating and staring.

My little lords, the merpeople are not too fond of me. I would rather not bother them with my presence, but I'm sure they were alerted of your arrival by your father.

"Why can't you guys just become friends. You do share the same lake." I pointed out. Why couldn't they just get along?

I'm not so sure about that, little lords. This feud has been going on for a very long time, since before my father's time, in fact.

'looks like we're going to have to do something about this' my brother thought to me.

'definitely' I replied.

A feud between two sides that live in the same water body and barely meet? Sounds ridiculous.

Bye little lords. The guard will come when I am gone.

And with that we bid farewell to our tentacle friend.

True to his word, two merguards came and escorted us to the palace.

"This is really beautiful." we breathed as we swam into the palace. We passed all the statues, rooms and halls until we made it to the king's throne.

"Hello, your majesty." we said, bowing.

"Don't bow, my Lords. You are our princes. Call me Fredrick." he said bowing back.

'I knew it! We are princes' I bothered my brother.

"We'll stop if you do. Your village included." I suggested smiling. I received an elbow to the side from my brother for that, but he remained quiet otherwise.

The king laughed, "Deal. Now why don't I explain a few things to you. I was told that you were new to both of our worlds."

We talked for about an hour before we went to breakfast.

"Sorry to bother you Fredrick, but we should be leaving now." I told the king. ]

"Very well. Just know that you will always have a place amongst us." he said.

"Thank you again. It was great getting to know you and your people." Harry said. I nodded my head in agreement.

We waved bye as we ascended to the surface.

"Looks like we didn't get to actually practice out powers." I said with a pout.

Harry laughed, "Too bad, we'll have to find another time. At least we discovered the water pressure thing and we can speak under water. First breakfast then we'll see."

We tried to get to breakfast before everyone started ogling us, but obviously luck wasn't on our side. Neither were the hallways. We had to stop several times to get directions.

When we managed to get to the great hall, it was already 7:00. Meaning, just about everyone was there.

We tried to walk to our table while ignoring everyone, but we still had ADHD and ended up scanning the crowds. Most looked at us with awe, but there were still a few with the jealous looks. Particularly at the Slytherin table. The only person that was acting normal was the headmaster, and he seemed to find this extremely amusing, which wasn't helping.

We reached the seats we took yesterday and started piling food onto our plates. What? We were growing boys. Most started going back to normal, but so many were still staring. It was getting really annoying. So what if we kill some moldy guy? We were babies. No one, including us, even knows what actually happened. We can't remember anything about that day except a green flash. And they stare at us as if we've hung the stars? It's ridiculous.

I stood up, Harry at my side.

"Do you know how creepy you all look? You're going to catch flies, you lot."

"Yeah, shouldn't you be hungry and dreading work and stuff this early?"

"Look, we know we're handsome and pretty and you all want a piece of us,-"

"-but you're going to find others. Not as good looking, yes. But there are others."

As Harry finished, the hall was laughing. By the time it died down, everyone was back to normal. God I love my twin. No, not in that way. Just no. We didn't even need the connection to know what the other was thinking. We just know each other that well. And I got to hand it to him, he took the words right out of my mouth.

We started making conversations with the rest of the Ravenclaws around us. Well, we tried to anyway. They were nice, I guess. Most of them were clearly the type that do all the work on a project alone, then ask why you never helped. If they do the project by their house the exact day they got it without telling anyone, then what were we supposed to do...

'You know, talking to these guys is pretty weird. Do you think we chose the right house?' I asked Harry.

'Honestly? I've been thinking the same thing. These guys don't seem like the interactive bunch. Most of them seem to be reading a book at breakfast. Who does that?' he responded.

I looked down the table, just noticing the large amount of books.

'Yeah, they seem to be more attached to the books than each other. Some family. I like a good read, and I understand it's magic, but this is a bit crazy. Though, it's not like we can't talk to the other houses, right? We do have lessons with the others.' I pointed out.

'True, but they isolate the houses so much, I feel like we might not get many chances to.' he thought.

A grin spread over my face.

'What if we alter our appearance... change the colour of our robes...' I smirked as Harry started to see what I was thinking about.

'Of course! That would be so cool! I heard no one has been known to get in to another house. And if Dumbybore has any other tricks with the traits, then it won't bother us. The sorting hat said we would suite any.' he was so happy, a couple Ravenclaws started looking at him weirdly.

'Relax, bro. I know I'm a genius, but that's not an excuse to act weirdly around others.' I smirked.

'Just shut up.' he rolled his eyes. 'We need to get our schedules.'

I looked down our table to see he was right. A short teacher was at the front of the table, handing out everyone's schedules.

We got up, hoping no one would follow us. A couple eyes stared at us but a raised eyebrow plus our before speech made them blush and look away.

By the time we got to the front of the table, we got a good look at the Ravenclaw house head. He was a very short, dwarf-like man with brown hair and brown eyes. When we got to him, he gave us our schedules.

"You know, Professor McGonagall has said you resemble a mixture of the Weasley twins and your father. Try not to be too much like them." he said with a twinkle in his eyes, "I'm happy, as long as you do all your work. What you do in your free time doesn't concern me."

I looked down at the piece of paper as he walked away to give out more schedules.

"I guess we'll be seeing him soon. We're starting with charms." I told Harry.

"Looks like we'll be seeing the Slytherins." Harry said.

"Let's leave now, we don't want to be late like breakfast. I would say they should give maps, but where's the fun in that?"

Hi everyone. Don't know who "everyone" is, it makes sense, but anyway... How've you guys been?

And I'm sorry for the crappy chapter, but I had some school problems. And my mom got Covid. So thing are quite hectic for me.

I'm also a bit stressed out, cause I have no idea where I'm going with this. I also read over something else I wrote and found out how bad I am at personality differences. I don't want Harry and Percy to be completely different people and now I'm freaking out and wondering what to do. So, sorry.

I'm going to be continuing with first person, okay? I have another story that's in third person so I decided I want to try both, so this is staying 1st person.

Just like to make it clear that I have no idea where this is going. Seriously, why do you even read it? It's just stupid and me being my crazy self will probably have OP characters. Anyway, wow, I really like that word. I mean I use it a lot. Anyway...
