Minerva McGonagall woke up in a strange room and jumped in surprise. "Easy Min," a voice soothed as the arm around her caressed her gently.
"Dougal," she asked suprised as she turned her head towards him. "Where am I? How did I get here?"
"Easy love," he soothed gently. "You are at my home in Caithness. You were injured in that fight with the black robed people and your mother insisted I bring you here."
"The Death Eaters," she gasped as memories of the fight danced in her head. "You still remember magic? They didn't wipe your memories?"
"Your mother rushed us out of there when the red robed people showed up," he answered honestly.
"Aurors," Minerva supplied then frowned. "Why would she do that? Its against the laws for muggles to know of magic unless they have a close familial connection."
Dougal rolled Minerva onto her back and settled on top of her so he could met her gaze. She became painfully aware of her lack of clothing as well as his. She bit her lip to keep from moaning out loud at the mere feel of him against her. "A gold light pulsed from your chest and surrounded me," he explained. "Your mother said it was a soul bond and pleaded with me to convince you to consummate it."
Minerva stared at him in shock. Dougal saw the conflicting emotions already going through her mind and distracted her the only way he knew how. He kissed her, hard and demanding like he used to all of those years ago. She moaned at the feeling and tore her mouth away from his to catch her breath.
"Dougal," she panted as she tried to calm her trembling body. "You saw how vicious the magical world can be. I can't drag you into it."
"Tell me you don't love me," he challenged as he shifted his lower body against hers. "I feel your want, your wetness, against me from just a kiss Minerva. Don't push me away!"
"I have to protect you," she reasoned, anguish showing on her face.
"Don't push me away again," he begged, tears welling in his chocolate eyes. "I can't survive without you. I love you entirely too much."
Minerva closed her eyes as tears overcame her. "I love you," she admitted honestly.
"I know," he whispered as he slipped into her slickened channel. She gasped at the sudden, unexpected movement. She hadn't expected him to take matters into his own hands but he had. He claimed her lips again as wrapped his arms underneath hers and propped himself up on his elbows. "I will never let you go love. You're my witch forever!"
Her tears flowed quicker as she claimed his lips with her own. Her arms wrapped around him and caressed him gently. "Love me," she begged as she gave into him.
"Always," he whispered as he moved within her.
Minerva closed her eyes and allowed the sensations to overtake her. The fire was building rapidly and if the sounds coming from Dougal were an indication then he was close to the edge. Their soulbond was obviously speeding up the process. She planted her feet against the mattress and thrust up to him. The moan from him encouraged her to repeat her actions until he stiffened above her and spilled his seed into her welcoming body. She screamed his name as her orgasm hit her.
A golden light surrounded them brightly before flashing out. "What did that light mean?" he asked once he caught his breath.
Minerva smiled brightly at him. "It means I am your wife," she answered and kissed his lips lovingly. "We fulfilled our soul bond."
"Good," he answered as he reached into his nightstand and pulled out a ring box. He opened it and held out an engagement ring for her to see. "Guess you will be needing this then."
"You kept it all of these years," she whispered emotionally as she watched him place it on the fourth finger of her left hand.
"It was meant for you," he offered as he kissed her again. "I shall have to buy you a wedding band to go with it."
Minerva smiled happily at him. "I love you so much Dougal McGregor," she stated matter-of-factly.
He kissed her lovingly. "I love you Minerva McGonagall McGregor. Now try to rest. I am sure your mother will be back first thing in the morning."
Minerva snorted at that. "You're probably right," she admitted before snuggling close to him and dropping off to sleep.
Minerva woke as sunlight filtered into the large window. She grinned as she remembered last night and lifted her left hand. Her solitary diamond ring shined brightly. It was the same ring Dougal had proposed with all of those years ago. It touched her tremendously when she learned he had kept it all along. He had never given up on her and she was grateful for it.
Her stomach rumbled when she smelled bacon frying and freshly brewed coffee. She used the loo and freshened up before slipping into one of Dougal's button up shirts. She decided against anything else besides her knickers as she went in search of her husband. She found him at the stove finishing up breakfast. "Morning love," she whispered as she learned against the doorway.
He turned and gasped at the sight of her. Bare legs, wild hair and his button up shirt mostly open. She had three or four buttons done, just enough to cover her assets. "You are gorgeous," he breathed as he greeted her with a passionate kiss. He lifted her up and walked her towards the kitchen table before dropping her in a chair. "I have your favorites; tattie scones, eggs, bacon and freshly brewed coffee."
Dougal sat a plate down in front of her before grabbing his own and sitting across from her. "Tell me about your life once you left Caithness" he asked as he dug into his plate.
Minerva raised an eyebrow in suprise before digging into her own meal. Between bites, she told him of Hogwarts and her life there.
"You teach at a boarding school for magical children?" he asked suprised. He had heard she was a teacher from some neighbors but never asked about her himself. He had been devastated when she left all of those years ago. He had tried to push her from his thoughts, his mind, but it never worked.
Minerva smiled at him. "I do and I love every moment of it. I currently act as Head of House for Gryffindor students and am the Deputy Headmistress."
Dougal let out a whistle at that. "Sounds fancy love," he teased. "When do you need to go back?"
Minerva looked pained at the mere thought of separation from him. "The last week in August," she answered. "If I resign from the Head of House position, I wouldn't be required to stay in the castle. I would just need to be nearby in case of an emergency."
"Is that what you want?" he prodded.
Minerva met his chocolate eyes with determination. "I love being Head of Gryffindor House but I love you more," she answered. "I want to be near you. I have already squandered so much time by my stubbornness. I won't lose any more."
Dougal searched her face and found only sincerity. He offered her a reassuring smile before revealing one of his secrets. "I no longer farm the land. Neil O'Donnell farms the land and his wife brings by canned goods as a thank you. They are saving for a place of their own. I have all I need and felt a need to help the boy out. His family has been downright mean to him and his wife's family doesn't have room for them."
"You old softy," she teased as she kissed him lovingly.
"I will follow you wherever you go," he promised with conviction.
Tears of wonderment flowed down her face as she offered him a radiant smile. "You will move closer to Hogwarts for me?"
"Yes," he breathed. "I will still want to come back here from time to time. My family has lived here for generations. I don't want to see it abandoned."
"Summers or Christmas in Caithness then," Minerva agreed as she kissed her husband heatedly.
"I better wash the dishes before your mother shows up," he said reluctantly as he eyed her shamelessly.
Minerva pulled her wand out and spelled the dishes to wash themselves, the floors to be swept then mopped and the table to be cleaned then polished. Dougal watched in fascination for a moment before Minerva cleared her throat. "How about you take care of your wife's needs?" she teased.
"With pleasure," he answered and tossed her over his shoulder and dashed up the stairs to their bedroom. Minerva's happy laughter making his soul sing.
