Christmas arrived before long and found the McGregors at the farm in Caithness. Minerva insisted on a Christmas tree which Dougal was happy to chop down for her. He still liked to work on the farm when given an opportunity and if he could snog his wife senseless in the woods then he would always be willing to do so.
Minerva straddled her husband's lap and kissed him lovingly. He chuckled at her antics and wrapped his arms around her. "Don't start something we don't have time to finish," he admonished. "We have to be at your parents in less than an hour."
"You best work quick," she teased as she apparated them into their bedroom and magically removed their clothes.
Dougal raised an eyebrow at his wife before giving in. "Challenge accepted love," he smirked then nipped at her neck. He moved his hand to her most private area and smiled at the wetness he felt there. "Seems you did require my attention," he laughed.
Minerva purred as her husband bent her leg up between them and slammed into her. He had learned how flexible she truly was and loved to experiment with it. She breathed his name over and over as he quickly found the place that made her see stars. He pivoted into her velvety channel quickly and caused her to scream out embarrassingly quick. He chuckled deeply before kissing her lovingly. "One more lover," he panted to her before she became lost in the sensations her husband was creating in her.
Isobel McGonagall smiled brightly as she saw her family surrounded around the tree. Robbie was teaching Mary how to play chess. Malcolm and his wife Ruth were settled on the couch talking quietly. Robert held their two grandsons (John and David) lovingly in his arms and told the nativity story. The 7 and 8 year olds had her husband wrapped around their fingers. However everyone in the family was aware their beloved Aunt Min would always hold their heart.
Isobel looked to the left of Robert and smiled. Minerva was draped across Dougal's lap in the high back chair and smiling happily. The woman had become vibrant and outgoing again since her marriage to Dougal. Isobel was ashamed she had missed how isolated Minerva had became. She knew Minerva had doted on the boys but she had tight smiles plastered on her face rather than the carefree ones she displayed now. She was more relaxed and had a glow about her. A glow? Isobel thought suprised. Minerva had enjoyed foods today she hadn't normally enjoyed.
Isobel drew the attention of Ruth and Minerva before heading up the stairs and into her bedroom. "Ruth would you run a diagnostic spell on Minerva," she asked with a smile.
"I feel fine Màthair," Minerva retorted.
"You have a glow about you," she whispered.
Minerva looked at her mother wide-eyed but laid down on the bed and allowed her sister-in-law to cast the spell. Ruth was a healer at St. Mungo's and cast the spell easily. A pink light settled around Minerva's midriff before fading from view. "When's the due date," Isobel asked with a smile as she gazed at the absolute shocked expression on her daughter's face.
"September 19th," Ruth answered matter-of-factly before turning towards her mother-in-law. "I am suprised you noticed it so quickly."
"She has a glow about her," Isobel answered with a shrug.
"Everything fine with the baby?" Minerva asked as she finally found her voice.
"Yes," breathed Ruth.
"I need to tell Dougal," Minerva said as she moved off the bed and rushed downstairs. She gripped Dougal's hand before apparating them without a word to anyone.
"Minerva," Dougal said suprised as they landed in their living room.
Minerva grinned at him before kissing him passionately. "I'm pregnant," she blurted out.
Dougal stared at her in disbelief for a moment or two before he dropped to his knees and pulled her waist towards him. She ran her fingers through his unruly curls as she felt him cry against her. "I love you," he sobbed as he held her near.
Minerva teared up as she watched the absolute joy creep on her husband's face. "Our daughter will be here on September 19th," she revealed. "Hopefully she will have your chocolate eyes and unruly curls!"
Dougal chuckled before standing up and picking her up bridal style. He carried her up the stairs and gently laid her on the bed. She watched mesmerized as he gently removed all of her clothes and then his own. He settled next to her on the bed and kissed her lovingly, tenderly.
The love they made was so tender, so slow, it brought tears to her eyes. Dougal showed her his appreciation, his love, so sweetly. As they laid cuddled together, he gently rubbed her belly. "I have always wanted a family," he confessed. "Thank you my love!"
Minerva kissed him lovingly before confessing, "I have wanted your child since that first kiss by the pond. I can't wait to see you with our daughter. You are going to be an amazing father!"
Dougal kissed her belly gently and cried happily. The love of his life had came back into his life after all of these decades. They were married, happily he thought, and now they had a daughter on the way. "I am grateful you are a witch," he whispered. "It is mind-boggling we are as old as we are and can still have children. Thank you dearest!"
Minerva McGonagall McGregor smiled widely at him. "Well Mr. McGregor I do believe you have your own type of magic and I hope to always feel it."
Minerva sat on the porch swing watching Dougal help her father work on his car. Minerva could have fixed it easily with magic but her father wouldn't hear of it. He insisted it was a bonding experience with his son-in-law. Isobel had laughed and dragged Minerva to the house.
Isobel wrapped a blanket around Minerva as she returned with a cup of decafe tea for her daughter. Minerva smiled, "Thanks Màthair."
"No trouble love," Isobel responded. "How did Dougal take the news?"
Minerva smiled at her mother. "He is so happy," she answered, tears gathering at the mere memory of the emotions her husband showed. "I hope she will have his eyes and hair color."
"She does," Isobel offered with a grin. "Have you thought of a name yet?"
Minerva had forgotten her mother's words about her future daughter. The spitting image of Dougal. "I like more traditional Scottish names but Dougal wants something different."
"Hermione," Isobel asked curiously.
Minerva looked at her startled. "How could you know that? Dougal just suggested that last night!"
"The future one told me her name," Isobel said. "Hermione Jean was her adopted name but her birth name was."
"Hermione Isobel," interrupted Minerva.
"Yes," Isobel answered with a grin. "I suggest you allow Dougal to win the name argument." Minerva just chuckled and nodded her head in acceptance.
