Isobel McGonagall entered Minerva's room quietly and smiled at her granddaughter. Hermione had apparated them next to Minerva. "Go get ready for bed Dougal and I shall stay here until you get back," Isobel offered. "Hermione decided you both would be here when Minerva wakes up."
Dougal nodded his head and headed off towards the master bath. "I sleep here," Hermione said as she pointed to the bed.
"Very well," Isobel conceded as she conjured a pillowed bassinet for Hermione in the middle of the bed. "You will have to sleep in the bassinet though. Your Momma is hurt and needs to rest."
"I be good," she answered with a smile.
"You are always good love," Isobel said as she helped the toddler settle in the bed. "Do you want your doll?" The girl nodded shyly. Isobel smiled and summoned the doll to the girl. "Goodnight sweetheart," she whispered and kissed Hermione on the forehead.
Isobel shifted her attention to Minerva and cast a monitoring spell to alert her when Minerva woke up. Dougal slipped into bed on Hermione's other side and scooted close to his daughter. "Thank you Isobel," he whispered.
"I cast a monitoring charm and will come when she wakes up," she informed him. "If you need me for anything, we shall be in the blue guestroom. I will see everyone out."
"Thank you," he whispered as Isobel charmed the lamp to emit a soft light so Minerva could see if she woke up and turned the overhead light off then left the room.
It was almost lunch time before Minerva woke up. Dougal and Hermione had refused to leave her. Isobel had sighed in acceptance and brought tea for Dougal and milk and fruit for Hermione to the bedroom. Minerva opened her eyes quietly as she looked for her next attacker. She gasped when she realized she was home. She turned her head and nearly wept in joy at the sight of her child and husband. "You're alright," she breathed relieved.
Dougal moved next to his wife and embraced her within his arms. "My love," he whispered as tears fell unashamedly down his face. "I thought I lost you."
"Momma," Hermione said excitedly. "I miss you."
Minerva allowed her tears to fall as she wrapped her child up in her arms and scooted back into Dougal's loving embrace. She held on tightly as her emotions overwhelmed her. "You're safe with us love," Dougal whispered as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. Her tears fell like a river.
Isobel silently crept into the bedroom and teared up at the sight her her oldest child being wrapped up in her husband's arms with their daughter clinging to her mother. Minerva's capture had affected everyone so much. She didn't fully understand what her visitor had told her. She hadn't truly understood how much Minerva encouraged and pushed others. She and Dougal were beacons of glorious light in such dark times.
Isobel shook her head and moved towards the bed. "I'm glad you're awake love," she cooed as she bent down and kissed Minerva's forehead. "Ruth and Poppy had to work on you for hours last night."
Minerva scrunched up her face in confusion and frowned. "Where my injuries so severe?" she asked her mother.
"You don't know, do you?" Isobel said suprised. Minerva looked at her mother in confusion. "You are three months pregnant. Ruth and Poppy had to carefully treat you to avoid a miscarriage."
"Pregnant," she said emotionally then turned her head to her husband.
"Twin boys," he said with a grin. "Ruth said it was a miracle they survived your captivity. Poppy suspects your magic unconsciously protected them."
Minerva didn't know what to say. Hermione wrapped her arms tightly around Minerva's neck. "I love you Momma."
"I love you my darling," she whispered emotionally as she pulled her daughter closer and allowed herself to enjoy the closeness of her family.
"I want you to write down every name that added to your suffering," Charles Potter said to Minerva. "We shall not allow the bastards to get away with it."
Minerva frowned and shook her head no. "They are pureblood fanatics," she argued. "Nothing will be done about it, you know this!"
"Charles and James has a plan," Dorea revealed. "One that uses pureblood tactics against them."
"Hear them out love," Isobel begged Minerva.
Minerva looked at her mother and then closed her eyes in frustration. She didn't want the wizarding world to know what exactly happened to her and who all was involved. She wanted to put it behind her. She looked at Dougal for his opinion. His eyes were bright with understanding yet she saw the conflicting rage behind that. "If you don't take a stand against this, how will you feel the next time the bastards decide to show someone else their displeasure with them?" he asked her.
Minerva closed her eyes, dropped her head and allowed her tears to fall. "Hand me a pen," she said quietly.
At that moment, an Owl swooped in the open window and landed in front of Minerva. The Eagle Owl dropped a package, nodded its head regally and flew out the window. She ran her wand across it briefly to make sure it was safe and then opened the box. She gasped at the contents. A dark wand, a whip and a blade were in the box along with a simple note. Never again shall I watch a mother being taken from her child. Bella has been disposed of permanently and shall never harm another.
"That's Narcissa's handwriting," Sirius said wide-eyed.
"Did she really take out her own sister?" questioned Malcolm.
"There is no greater love than a mother's love for her child," Dorea answered gently. "A loving mother will not stand aside and allow another mother to suffer needlessly when she can prevent it. Isn't Narcissa a new mother?"
"She has a son close in age to Hermione and Harry," Sirius answered. "Apparently her son is more important than her pureblood views."
"I shall invite my niece to brunch and see how we can sway her loyalties," Dorea said. "Minerva seems to pull on her heart strings and I need to use that to see if she can be swayed."
Minerva took a deep breath before writing down a list of twelve witches and wizards along with what House they belonged to before drawing a line through Bellatrix LeStrange and writting debt satisfied by House Black. She handed the list to Charles Potter who nodded his head in gratitude at her.
"I ask you to allow James to sit in as Regent of House Ravenclaw at the next session," Charles said. "In order for my plan to work, you have to appear vulnerable and House Ravenclaw needs to stand firm. Let James handle this matter for you while you heal."
"Very well," Minerva answered meekly.
