Chapter 14: The Grangers

Harry had immediately rushed over to Minerva after bidding the girl farewell. He walked up to his grandmother and poked her arm repeatedly, "Nana…Nana." he said to try to get her attention.

Minerva looked down to him, "What is it dear?" she asked slightly annoyed because she was trying to make plates for everyone.

Harry held up his book, "I think the charm Uncle Remy put on my book is broken." He said.

Remus, who had been sitting a few seats away, heard this and got up coming over, "What was that?"

Harry turned to him, "Your charm is broken." He said again, "I was reading it and this girl came up and read the actual title out loud!" he said in a worried whisper.

Remus took the book and looked it over thoroughly, he then shook his head, "No, the charm is entirely intact." He passed the book to Minerva for her to check.

The woman looking it over closely, "I agree, there is nothing wrong with this charm." She looked down to Harry, "Are you sure about what you heard dear?"

Harry nodded, "She asked me if the book had real magic in it and if I was a wizard."

Minerva immediately looked worried, "And what did you tell her?"

"I dodge the question." He said immediately, "I said 'Maybe' then asked if she was a witch."

"And how did she reply?" Minerva asked looking at Harry sternly.

"She said no," Harry assured his grandmother, "then said that her parent's were…dentists?" he said confused by that word.

"Dentists?" Remus said looking to be pondering something, "I believe Lily once told me that a dentist is a muggle doctor that works on teeth." He said to Minerva.

"So this girl…" she was thinking, "Her parents are muggles and she was able to see through a charmed designed to fool muggles…well that can only mean one thing."

Remus nodded, "She's a muggleborn."

Harry's eyes widened, "Like my mum was?"

"Yes." Remus told him.

Minerva kneeled down getting eye level with Harry, "Harry which one is she? Don't point to her it might scare her or her parents where ever they are. Just look in her direction, smile, and wave. Get her to wave back."

Harry nodded to her and looked out at the pool spotting the girl climbing out, her hair was wet now and hung off her head in clumps. When she turned his direction he smiled and started waving. The girl noticed him, smiling as well and waving back, "That's her." Harry mumbled to Minerva.

His grandmother watched as the girl turned and ran up to a woman, who Minerva assumed was her mother. The girl tugged on her mom's one piece suit a bit to get her attention then said something to her smiling then pointed to Harry. The woman looked their way and spotted them. Harry and Minerva both waved to her, the woman smiles and waves back before taking her daughters hand and walking around the pool heading in their direction. The two stop in front of them, "Hello there." The girls mother said to them, "Emma Granger." She held out her hand to Minerva.

Minerva smiled and shook it, "Minerva McGonagall." She tells her, "Pleasure."

"Like wise." Emma said, "My daughter seems to want to make friends with your boy so I was wondering if you'd like to join us at dinner tonight. We have a reservation in the resort restaurant we'd love for you to join us."

Minerva smiled, "We really would love to, however we're actually here as a family." She gestures to the table where the rest were sitting, "There are seven of us, but we also have a table there tonight we've reserved a rather large table you're welcome to join us."

"Oh that's would be lovely!" Emma said smiling, "Shall we meet you at the doors?"

"That would be perfect our reservation is for seven thirty. How many will be with you I'll update them so their prepared." Minerva says.

"Oh its just me, my husband, and my daughter. So three." The girls mother said.

"Excellent once we're done with lunch here I'll go by and let them know of the updated number for the table." Minerva told her.

"Great we'll see you tonight. Come on Hermione we have that tour at Notre Dame in an hour." Emma led her daughter off to head back into the resort.

Minerva turned back to the table and spotted Narcissa eyeing her, "What are you planning Minerva?" the blond asked her.

"Well if the girl is indeed a muggleborn witch I'm sure she's done accidental magic a time or two." Minerva began, "I'm going to subtly talk about some of Harry's accidental bouts of magic. See their reaction. Wanna help?"

Narcissa chuckled, "Alright then." Minerva took her seat and began discussing how she and Narcissa would approach this. The men at the table simply decided to let the ladies handle this and returned to the pool with the boys.

That night everyone was all dressed up and standing in front of the restaurant entrance, all of were dressed to the nines for the occasion. Minerva was wearing a emerald green dress that had a wide V-neck, and long sleeves leaving her shoulders exposed. The dress hugged the older woman's slender body and went all the way down to her ankles; her hair was in a low loose bun with a green lace net cover wrapping up the bun. Narcissa was wearing a black strapless, sleek dress that showed off her every curve, going down to just past her knees. Her blond hair had been braided toward the right side, and the long braid draped over her right shoulder.

The boys were all wearing smart black suits each with different colored ties. Sirius had a golden yellow bow tie, while his lover was wearing a simple black necktie. Severus had on an blue tie that perfectly complimented Narcissa's eyes. Draco had on a grey bow tie that matched his own eye color, while Harry was wearing a periwinkle blue tie. Minerva tucked a loose strand of Harry's long hair behind his ear and nodded. The boy had wanted to grow his hair out after his seventh birthday so he could look more like Sirius. He had started using Sleekeazy's Hair Potion, which he learned hair been created by his own grandfather on his father's side, this kept his usually unruly hair in check as it was now just barely touching his shoulders.

They were waiting for their guests to arrive when Minerva spotted Emma, her daughter, and the man they all assumed was Emma's husband, round the corner. Emma was wearing a maroon gown with straps that wrapped around her neck, the dress flowed out starting at her waist going all the way down to the very top of her feet. Young Hermione was wearing a simple periwinkle blue Sunday dress, her bushy hair from earlier had miraculously been tamed tied back in a tight braid that bounced against her shoulder blades. The man supporting Emma's arm had his hair slicked back, and like the other men, was wearing a black tux though his neck tie matched his wife's dress.

Minerva smiled to them as they stopped in front of her, "Hello, thank you for joining us to night."

"Thanks you for inviting us," the man spoke as he took Minerva's hand and gave it a gentle kiss, "Daniel Granger, pleasure to meet you." He said.

Minerva smiled, "Minerva McGonagall." She looked to the mans wife still smiling, "Emma, you didn't tell me your husband was such a charmer."

"I've taught him a thing or two." The woman replied with a smirk. She then looked to the others around Minerva and smiled, "Hello I'm Emma Granger, and this is our daughter Hermione." She pulled the girl forward from the hand she was holding directing her towards Harry and Draco.

Both boys smiled, "I'm Draco." The blond boy told the girl.

"Nice to meet you." Hermione said with her toothy smile then looking to Harry, "Hello again Harry." She said to him.

Emma smiled happy to see the boys were being nice to her. Hermione usually had such a hard time making friends. She then looked to the other adults, "Now I don't believe we got the rest of your names."

Narcissa was the first to speak up, "Narcissa Black, Draco's mother." She said shaking both the Granger's hands.

Severus shook both of their hands as well, "Severus Snape."

"He's with her," Sirius whispers pointing to Narcissa who popped his arm while Severus narrowed his eyes at him. Sirius chuckles, "Sirius Black I'm Narcissa's cousin and Harry's godfather." He said before wrapping an arm around Remus' neck, "and this fine specimen is Remus Lupin who also happens to be my partner."

"Sirius there is no need to just blurt it out to everyone we meet. Some people need to be eased into it." Remus scolded him, "Forgive my partner he has no tact in anyway."

Emma chuckled at this while Daniel looked back and forth between the two men, "So you to are a couple?" he asked.

"Yes we are." Remus said, "Going on sixteen years now."

"We met in school." Sirius added.

"Well you," Severus said looking to Sirius, "Must be doing something right to have had a sensible man like Remus by your side for so long. I don't get what he sees in you."

"Charm, wit, loyal, sometimes a bit brazen, but other than that I'm the complete package." Sirius retorted earning a giggle from Narcissa and Emma.

"Alright boys enough," Minerva told them, "We didn't invite the Granger's here for the two of you to dazzle them with your witty repartee. I for one, am famished."

"I concur." Daniel said, "These two ladies had me walking all over the city today, I'm am starved." He offered Minerva his other arm, "Shall we?"

Minerva took it gently, "You did train him well." She says to Emma with a smirk.

"He just wants to have two beautiful women on his arm." Daniel's wife said narrowing his eyes at her husband.

Minerva chuckled at this, "You are too kind, paying an old woman like myself such a compliment."

"Oh please Minnie you don't look a day over forty." Sirius said.

"Bite your tongue dog." She snapped at him.

With that they all went inside and were escorted to a large round table. Once seated they ordered their drinks and a few appetizers while everyone looked over the menus. Emma watched as Hermione explained to Harry and Draco what each dish was, since the menu was in French. Hermione had learned French when she was six after a French girl joined her elementary school. She had hoped it would make it easier for them to be friends, however the girl in question apparently hadn't been interested much to Hermione's dismay.

Finally they all placed their orders and began chatting amongst themselves. "Minerva," Emma says, "Hermione said Harry told her you were a Professor?"

"Nine years ago yes. I'm now the Headmistress." Minerva replied, "Remus and Severus are actually the Professor's amongst us. They both teach at my school."

"Really what do you two teach?" Daniel asked.

Severus looked to Minerva for a moment before saying, "Chemistry."

"I teach a very specific form of Ethics." Remus responded.

"Fascinating…" Daniel said, "What type of school is it?"

"It's a school for very gifted individuals." Minerva said.

"Gifted?" Emma said, "Maybe we should see about enrolling Hermione she's so smart."

"We would love to have her." Remus said smiling to the girl, "Harry and Draco both will be attending next year."

"They are both bright boys, but goodness did they cause us trouble when they were younger." Narcissa said looking to Minerva.

Minerva smiled, "Oh yes, I swear the strangest things would happen all the time when they were young." Remus knew then the two of them were beginning their plan, "I kid you not, Harry learned to read when he was just three and after that we could not pry him from the library at my home. One day I came in finding him reading a book I know was on the top shelf. I kept all the books he was too young for up there. Of course I took it from him and put it back, but when I turned around I heard a thump. I turned back and saw the book was back in his lap."

"I had a similar occurrence with Draco," Narcissa chimed in, "he was four and Sirius was scolding him for breaking an expensive vase in his home. I apologized and offered to pay for it we were discussing my method of payment when we hear the pieces moving around when we turned to look the vase was back to normal."

Emma and Daniel looked at each other wide eyed. Emma turned back to them, "We've had similar incidents with Hermione!"

"When she was six and going to an elementary school nearby. Some of the boys there had taken to bullying her." Daniel started explaining one instance, "They had chased her when school let out. Yet while running, she somehow ended up at the top of a very tall tree that's branches had been way too high for her to reach at her height. We had to call the fire department to get her down."

All the wizards at the table looked at each other. 'Accidental Magic' they all thought. Soon their meals arrived and they continued to chat over dinner discussing the various strange occurrences that happen around the children. Once they finished their meal they retired to a private parlor room on the first floor of the resort. The adult were all sitting with glasses of wine in each of their hands, while the children were chatting in a corner.

"Emma, Daniel." Minerva said, "I must apologize."

"What ever for Minerva dear." Emma asked.

"We haven't been entirely honest with you." Their elder told them, "You see we actually know why those strange things happened around the children."

The husband and wife looked at each other a bit surprised, "Really?" Daniel asked, "Well what is causing it?"

"Magic." Sirius said. He drew his wand from his coat and flicked it at the door which caused the lock to click, locking the door.

Emma and Daniel looked on completely shocked, "How did you do that?" Emma asked.

"I just told you…magic" Sirius said as he tapped the tip of his wand to Emma's glass and it immediately refilled on its own.

The both gasped wide eyed staring at the cup then looking to Sirius. "You see…" Minerva spoke up, "Narcissa and I are witches, and Sirius, Severus and Remus are wizards."

"Harry and Draco are wizards too." Narcissa said, "And we are fairly certain your daughter is a witch as well."

The Granger's looked at each other before looking back, "We're listening." they said together.

A/N: Oh boy this is going to be a long explanation. Luckily there is five of them to explain it thoroughly. How will they be able to explain this to two people who until moments before though magic wasn't real.

I'm glad to see so many reviews for this story and that many of you are enjoying it. I did notice two of you mention something about the laws pretaining to the Will from the earlier chapter. Once again I'm sorry if it not Lawfully correct I'm ignorant in such matters. I basically did it on the fly. But I would also like to add that this is a FICTIONAL story. Things don't have to be done EXACTLY like they are in real life.

Again thank you all for the wonderful reviews!

Up Next: Minerva and the other's give the Granger's a thorough explanation on the magical community. Then when they return Home they take the Granger's to Gringotts.
