Chapter 16: The Blood Status Test
The Grangers all looked around the busy street completely fascinated. The people walking around them looked as if they had walked straight out of a history book, witch's hats, long flowing colorful robes, owls swooping around. They were surprised to see this since Sirius and Narcissa dressed more modernly. Sirius explained the magical society was a few centuries behind the muggle community which got nods from both of the adult Grangers while Hermione was looking around in total fascination.
Sirius led them to the large white marble building on the opposite side from where they arrived. Once in the building they told the goblin receptionist they need to see the Black family account manager. The goblin looked up and immediately noticed Harry, who's hair had returned to its original color before entering the building, "Lord Black," the goblin said, "Head Account Manager Ragnok has asked us to send Heir Potter and his guardian to him should they arrive."
Sirius looked a bit concerned when he was told this, but Narcissa grabbed his arm, "Sirius I'll accompany the Granger's to Nagnok's office. You take Harry to go see Sir Nagnok's brother."
"Very well." Sirius said turning to the Granger's, "Narcissa will take care of you I seem to have another matter to attend to."
"Very well good luck." Daniel told him.
Sirius took Harry's hand and guided him down the right hall while Narcissa escorted the Granger's down the left. Sirius arrived to the door that read 'Head Account Manager Ragnok' he knocked hearing then heard the gruff voice of the goblin, "Enter."
Sirius opened the door finding the Potter Family account manager scribbling something. Sirius stepped up to his desk with Harry at his side and cleared his throat. "Sir Ragnok?"
The goblin jerked his head up spotting Sirius, "Lord Black?" he then spots Harry, "Ah Heir Potter its an honor to meet you again." The goblin waved his hand and two chairs appeared.
Sirius and Harry sat down, "I was told you wished to see Harry and his guardian, as Minerva is currently at Hogwarts Harry is in my custody may I ask what this is about?"
"Of course," The goblin said as he moved a few pieces of parchment from out in front of him, "As Heir Potter will be turning 11 next year he will officially recognized as the Heir to the Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter. As his account manager I fear many, especially the purebloods, will try to deny his claim simply because his mother was a muggleborn witch."
Sirius did have a look of concern on his face now, "You're right they may try to claim since Lily was a muggleborn her son is not a legitimate heir…" he looked to be thinking hard before looking back up to Ragnok, "I assume you have a preventive measure for this."
"Indeed," the goblin smiled, "I recommend Heir Potter take a Blood Status Test."
Sirius blinked, "Whatever for?"
The goblin smirked, "Lord Black as you are a Pureblood you never had to be subjected to our Blood Status tests but they don't just prove one is Magical." Ragnok explained, "They also show the titles the person in question is in line for and lists possible abilities the person may have inherited from their ancestors. Purebloods seem to always forget this so many of their ancestors abilities go unnoticed and left forgotten."
Sirius eyes widened, "So if Harry did this test it would provide us undeniable proof he is the Heir to House Potter."
"Indeed," Ragnok said, "Thereby preventing anyone from disputing the boys claim as Heir to House Potter."
Sirius looked to Harry, "What do you say Prongslet? Want to stick it to the morons and go ahead and do this test?"
Harry looked to his godfather, "Sure, its just a finger prick right?" the boy says.
"Exactly." Sirius said then looked back to the goblin, "Looks like he's on board we'll proceed as you have advised."
"Excellent." Ragnok turned and opened a cabinet near his desk he pulls out a black piece of parchment and a golden quill with a large red feather. He places it on the desk in front of them and holds the quill out to Harry, "Heir Potter, simply press your thumb here," he points his long claw to a small thin needle poking out near the base, "Then just hold the quill over the parchment."
Harry nodded getting up from his chair and taking the quill. He presses his thumb to the needle and felt the quill pull his blood from it. After a second or two a droplet of blood appeared on the tip of the quill and Harry held it over the black parchment. The droplet fell and landed on the parchment below causing it to begin to glow a faint crimson color. Harry removed his thumb and watch the blood remaining on the quill suddenly vanish itself he then held it out to the goblin who took it. After setting the quill to the side Ragnok picked up the still glowing parchment. The glow faded and he appeared to be reading what had shown up on the black parchment.
"Excellent!" Ragnok exclaimed as he continued reading, "Oh? Interesting." He read on and when it appeared his eyes reached the bottom of the page his eyes widened. "Oh my…" he mumbled
"What's wrong?" Harry asked.
The goblin looked up and turned the parchment before placing it back on his desk facing Harry and Sirius. Sirius picked it up and held it so Harry could read it too. They read:

Sirius looked at the parchment his eyes widening as the went down the list, "So it's true you are descended form the Peverell Line." He said surprised, "Whoa a Flame Lion that's rare!" He exclaimed, "Hmmm the metamorphmagus abilities probably won't awaken but you never know." His eyes then fell on the last ability, "Parseltongue? That's odd no Member of the Potter or Black family ever had that ability."
"What's Parseltongue?" Harry asked.
"The ability to talk to snakes." Sirius told him, "Its rare and not something anyone will expect you to have." He explained before reading on, "Wait…what the devil…" he looks up to Ragnok, "Why does this saying forty-five percent of Harry's magic is being restricted?"
"That concerned me as well Lord Black." Ragnok said, "Would you mind if we had Heir Potter looked over by our Healers? Hopefully they will be able to find something."
Sirius thought for a moment, "I agree to that but do you have a owl, a quill, and some parchment I can borrow? I need to send Minerva a letter, as she is Harry's actual legal and magical guardian we will require her permission to do anything should your healers find something."
"You're correct." Ragnok passed him a quill and a piece of parchment, "I will go alert our healers and fetch one of our fastest owls please wait here." The goblin got up walks toward the wall behind his desk then seemed to walk right through it.
Harry was looking worried, "Padfoot is their something wrong with me?" The boy asked.
"Absolutely not Prongslet!" he said kneeling down, "But something appears to be blocking a portion of your magic…we need to find out what that is and see if we can remove it. Okay?" Harry nodded to his godfather. Sirius then stood bending over the desk and penning a letter to Minerva telling her to come to Gringotts immediately. When Ragnok returned he had an owl on his arm. Sirius attached the letter and sure enough the owl was fast, as soon as the letter was attached the owl zoomed past them in a blur.
Afterward Ragnok led them to the medical ward. Once there, a team of medical goblins began surveying Harry. As this was going on an hour passed and soon Minerva McGonagall burst into the room with the most worried expression on her face, "Sirius what's going on?!" she bellows as she storms in her account manager right behind her. Daggerbold apologized to Ragnok about her behavior but the goblin dismissed it as a 'Worried grandmother's tantrum'. Sirius handed Minerva the results of the Blood Test. She looked it over her eyes widening as she read on. When she got to the bottom of the page and gasped, "Something is blocking Harry's magic!" she exclaimed.
"Yes Lady McGonagall." Ragnok said, "and we are currently investigating the cause." He directs her attention to Harry who is sitting in a chair surrounded by five goblins who were all moving their long clawed hands around the boy.
One of the goblins was now paying attention to Harry's scar. The goblin in question hands did not move from the boy's scar for sometime. Minerva saw this and immediately became worried. The medical goblins stopped what they were doing and began discussing amongst themselves for a moment then motioned Ragnok to come over to them. He did as asked and listened for a moment before exclaiming, "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!" The medical goblins all trembled by his raise voice.
Harry was now looking at his account manager a bit scared. Minerva saw this and walked closer, "Sir Ragnok, your frightening your client." She said to the goblin who glanced to Harry.
"I apologize Heir Potter." He said, "I'm not angry with you child. I just received disturbing news."
"What did they find?" Sirius asked as he walked up.
"I believe this would be best discussed with all of Heir Potter's named guardians, and perhaps we can have Heir Potter go elsewhere? This matter is not something a child should be party to."
"Narcissa and the Granger's should be waiting for us." Sirius said, "Minerva go ahead and contact Remus, Severus, Andromeda and Augusta. I'll take Harry to Narcissa and have her take the Granger's and the kids around Diagon Alley."
"Very well." She replied, "Sir goblin might I get some parchment to call the others." The goblin nodded and led her back to his office.
"Come along Harry." Sirius said taking the boys hand and leading him to the main entrance. Narcissa, Draco, and the Grangers were waiting in a waiting area when the two of them arrived. Sirius gave his cousin a brief explanation and asked her to show the Grangers and the kids Diagon Alley. She agreed and took both boys hands as she led them out of Gringotts with the Grangers in tow. Sirius then returned to Ragnok's office determined to discover what happening to his godson.
Forty-five minutes passed and finally all the guardian's named from the late Potter's will were present. Sirius then stood before Ragnok. "Everyone is here now please explain…what is wrong with Harry?"
Andromeda looked to her cousin, "What are you talking about Sirius?" Sirius sighed and handed her the results of Blood Status Test. Remus, Severus, and Augusta all looked at it with her.
"So he IS a Peverell!" Augusta said, "The Wizengamot will love this, that seat has been vacant for nearly a century."
"A Flame Lion?" Remus said, "Those have been extinct for three centuries how can Harry have that for his animagus, he'll have to completely understand the anatomy of the creature to be able to transform no wonder the awakening rate is so low."
"Parseltongue?" Severus said, "How on earth is that possible?"
They all saw the last line and gasped looking up to Sirius, "Magic Restriction?! How?" Andromeda exclaimed.
"Well we weren't sure so we had the goblin healers looked into it." Sirius said then turned back to Ragnok, "Now please tell us…what did you find?"
Ragnok looked up to the witches and wizards in the room, "I must request you all remain calm," he said, "but their appears to be a Horcrux attached to young Heir Potter."
"WHAAAAAT!!" They all exclaimed.
A/N: Of course their all baffled by this why wouldn't they be? They know how dark that kind of magic is. Will the goblins be able to help them remove it?
I've seen a few of you inquire about the invisibility cloak and Dumbledore's current whereabouts but fear not that will be clarified a few chapters later. Thank you all again for your support I'm glad your're all enjoying the story.
