Chapter 18: The Removal
Sirius and the gang got led to the a room near the medical wing. When they entered the room they looked around to see it was rather large and in the middle was a stone slab table. Above the table hanging in midair was a rather large glass flask. The room was lit with flames and standing on the left side was Minerva and the other guardians they were all talking with the goblins. Minerva noticed them entered and turned to face them, "Sirius what took so long?" she asked.
"I apologize Minerva we had an unwanted encounter, but we'll discuss that another time." He takes Harry's hand and leads the boy over to his grandmother.
Minerva kneeled, "Hello darling." She said to the boy who was looking around the room a bit nervously.
"Did they find out what was wrong with me?" Harry asked her nervously.
"There is nothing wrong with you my little cub." She said taking his face into her hands, "But there is something bad hiding inside your scar." She tells him, "The bad man who killed your parents put something there and its blocking your magic." She tells him.
The ten year old boy looks at her directly in the eyes and asks, "You mean Voldemort right?"
Minerva was a bit surprised at this but gave a sad smile, "So you've figured it out. You are indeed your mother's son. If she wanted to know about something there was nothing that could stop her from learning it."
Harry smirked a bit, "I read it is 'The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts' while in Flourish and Blotts." He tells her he then looks to the woman with a determined expression, "Will you tell me what really happened now?"
Minerva sighed, "Very well. Come have a seat. This will be a lengthy story." She said. Harry and the Grangers were led to some nearby chairs as the group of wizarding adults began to explain in vivid detail the last wizarding war and Harry's parents role in the war. They even spoke of Albus Dumbledore and how he manipulated many people including Severus and Harry's parents and friends so things went the way he wanted during the war. Finally, Minerva began to talk about the current situation and when she told them of the Horcrux and what it actually was, Harry's face paled while Emma looked horrified.
"So a piece of this Voldemort's soul is currently attached to Harry?" the muggle woman asked.
"Yes." Sirius said, "Due to that Harry's magic is being restricted from reaching its full potential."
"Is there any way to get it out?" Daniel asked, "Like an exorcism?"
"Not exactly and exorcism but the goblins have a ritual design to remove a foreign magical presence from an object. They've only used it on a living beings a few times and according to them it was painful for the host." Minerva looked from the Grangers to her grandson. She kneels in front of him looking him in the eyes, "Harry what they are proposing could hurt you a lot understand? You don't have to do this now you can wait till you're a bit older."
Harry immediately shook his head firmly tears welling up in his eyes, "No, Get it out of me now!" he exclaimed, "I don't want any part of him inside me."
Minerva exhaled, half in relief half in sorrow. Her grandson was far to mature for his age for her liking but she couldn't help but feel relieved that he wanted the Horcrux removed now. "Alright dear…we'll proceed." She stood and looked to Ragnok giving him a nod.
The goblin came over and escorted Harry to the stone slab having the boy lay down on it, "Heir Potter you have been told this procedure may cause you pain correct?"
Harry nodded nervously, "I don't care how much I cry…get him out of me Sir Ragnok." He said in a shaky voice.
Ragnok nodded admiring the ten year olds resolve, "Very well sir."
Harry then looked to his two friends then back to Ragnok, "Can Draco and Hermione hold my hand?" he asked his voice cracking a bit.
"If their parents allow it. It won't interfere with the procedure." Ragnok said.
Draco immediately walked over without even asking his mother or Sirius and took Harry's left hand, "Its okay Harry." He told his friend, "I'll be right here."
Hermione looked up to her parents, "Please? He's scared." The girl said tears in her eyes.
Daniel looked to his wife then to Ragnok, "The children won't be in the way right? And what ever you pull out won't be able to get to them."
"We will insure everyone's safety." Ragnok said, "No harm will come to anyone in this room you have my word as the next king of the goblins."
Everyone looked at Ragnok curiously but decided that was a question for another time. The Grangers then walked their daughter over towards Draco where the girl immediately clasps both hands over Draco's and Harry's. The girls parents both put a hand on their daughters shoulder giving her their support. Draco put his other hand on top of Hermione's and nodded to her firmly, she nodded back and they both look to Harry, "We got you." They said together.
Harry smiled weakly then turned his head to Minerva holding out his right hand, "Nana?" he said his voice a bit less shaky.
Minerva immediately rushed to him clasping her hands around her grandson's, "I'm here darling. I won't leave you." She said to him.
Severus, Remus, and Sirius walked up as well. Remus placed his hands on Harry's shoulders, "Were going to hold you down okay? So you don't accidently hurt yourself." Harry nodded and Remus put pressure against the boys shoulders.
Sirius and Severus each gasped one of Harry's legs and Sirius looked up to his godson, "All your uncles are here with you Harry."
"We won't let anything happen to you." Severus added. Andromeda and Augusta stood behind Minerva placing hands on her shoulders in support while Narcissa did the same for Draco.
Five goblins came out of the shadows and stood in a pentagon formation around Harry and his family, "We will begin." One of them said as they held up large wooden staves before smashing them down into the stone floor with a clack. Each let go of the staves and the magical foci stood on their own as the goblins put their long hands together and began chanting in Gobbledegook.
After just about five minutes of the goblins chanting, Harry began to whimper and squirm a bit as his scar started to sizzle as if it were being cooked in a skillet. The boy began to pant and gasp as the goblins continued their chanting. Minerva was biting her lip as tears ran down her face, "Its okay darling Nana is right here." She said to him. Harry then wailed out in pain and his scar began to swell, the skin around it started to redden as the scar itself looked ready to spew blood.
Suddenly, Harry's chest rose up and slammed back down on the stone slab. Minerva watched in horror as the boys body thrashed about. "Daniel!" Sirius shouted, "Hold down his chest for us!"
Mr. Granger walked around the table immediately. He stood beside Minerva and firmly pushed down on the boys chest to keep him from banging himself on the table again. "I got him!" the man told the others.
Harry let out another ear piercing wail, but half way through the cry turned into a snarl and Harry's head snapped up . His eyes were blood red causing everyone to gasp. "Get your hands off my vessel you damned blood traitors!" a cold sickening voice came out of Harry's mouth.
Minerva's eyes went from horror to fury, "Voldemort." She growled, "Get the hell out of my boy right now!" she barked.
Harry's head whipped in her direction and his face sneered, "Your boy? Please, your just a substitute trying to take the place of that mudblood bitch."
Minerva growled, but the next one who spoke up was none of the adults but Hermione. "You get out of Harry right now!" the girl shouted.
Harry's head whipped in her direction his now blood red eyes glaring down at her, "Ha! Another mudblood."
"Shut your mouth!" Draco barked, "Don't make Harry say those bad words."
Harry's now red eyes fell on Draco then looked to Narcissa, "I see Lucius was unable to control his wife after I left. How angry he must be to have lost his heir."
"Shut up." Narcissa said.
"Ah you have a voice now…last time we spoke you couldn't even look me in the eye."
"You leave my sister alone and get out of Harry right now!" Andromeda demanded as she let go of Minerva's shoulder and walked over towards Remus. The woman grabbed the boys head on both sides and forced it back down against the stone table.
Harry's red eyes glared at her, "If it isn't the Black Family's personal blood traitor."
Andromeda didn't speak she simply held the boys head still when Hermione spoke up again, "Stop it!" she shouted, "Stop making Harry say those nasty things!"
Harry's arm that was attached to the hand Draco and Hermione was holding tried to jerk away but Harry's friends wouldn't let go. The goblins chanting got louder as a ring of flames encircled them all. The cold voice wailed, "Damn you filthy goblins when I come back I'll eradicate your entire race!" Harry's scar began to ooze a black pus like substance and as soon as he saw this Ragnok lifted his hand and pointed a finger at the large glass flask that hung over their heads. The flask then had a tube extend from the base and lengthening until it was a few inches from Harry's scar.
The black ooze began to be pulled into the tube as even more began to leak from the scar. The cold voice faded from the boys mouth and Harry's eyes returned to their usual emerald green color as the boy wailed in his own voice once again. "IT HURTS!" Harry screamed sounding like himself again.
"Hang on Harry!" Draco and Hermione said in unison.
"We're all here Harry." Remus told the boy still holding his shoulders firmly.
"We're not going anywhere." Minerva added tears running down her face from seeing the boys pain.
Harry continued to wail as the procedure continued. Bit by bit the black ooze continued to leak from Harry's scar and continued to be sucked up by the glass tube. After twenty minutes the flask was now half full with the ooze. Harry's body suddenly went limp and it appeared he had fallen unconscious. Ragnok snapped his finger and the tube shrunk back into the flask, sealing itself closed. The flask itself shrunk down compacting the ooze until it appeared to be filled with the black substance. "We're finished." He said.
"Harry!" Minerva exclaimed as she stood and took the boys face in her hands. The boy was panting but appeared to still be unconscious. Everyone let go except Draco and Hermione who were looking at the friend worriedly.
Ragnok walked up beside Minerva pulling out a blank black piece of parchment, "Lady McGonagall," He held up the parchment, "May I?" he asked.
Minerva looked to him seeing the paper and nodded. They pulled Harry from the stone table and Minerva sat in a chair with the boy held tightly in her arms. Ragnok took the boys hand and poked one of his fingers with a needle causing the boy to twitch a bit. The Potter Family account manager held the boys finger over the parchment. The droplet of blood fell onto the parchment and Ragnok immediately clasped the finger in his hand. A soft glow appear and when he let go, Harry's finger was spotless.
The parchment glowed crimson and when it faded Ragnok read the parchment. He gave a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness."
Sirius stepped up beside him and held out his hand for the parchment. Ragnok passed it to him and Sirius looked it over reading it aloud:

"Yea the possibility of him becoming an animagus has gone up." Sirius said, "His animagus awakening went up, but only by thirty."
"I'm just glad we got rid of that." Minerva's eyes glared at the now black flask. She then looked to Ragnok, "How will you dispose of it?" she inquired.
"Well since this particular one was attached to a living vessel well have to put it inside some kind of live stock then slaughter the beast. But fear not we will give the creature a swift death." He told her.
Minerva frown a bit, "I pity the creature that will have that thing inside it." She than looked to the sleeping Harry, "But at least Harry is safe."
She wiped the sweat from the boys forehead and the boy stirred a bit. He opened his eyes lazily and looked up to his grandmother, "Is he gone?" he asked in a hoarse voice.
"Yes darling," She told him, "You're all better now."
Harry gave a weak smile of relief, "Can we go home now Nana?"
"Yes sweetie we'll go home." She then looked to Ragnok, "Do you need us for anything else?"
"No, Lady McGonagall." The goblin said, "You're free to leave. Our healers advise you make sure Heir Potter stays fully hydrated for the next few days. He may be unable to digest solid foods for a day or two and recommend he take multiple nourishment potions until he's back on his feet."
"I get those brewed right away." Severus said as he turned and headed out. Andromeda followed him to assist.
Remus leaned down, "Here I'll carry him." He said and lifted Harry from her arms, "Let get him in a comfortable bed."
Minerva stood and turned to the Grangers, "I know today may have been bit frightening for you and I apologize. This was not how we wanted to welcome you into our society. If you like, as an apology I would love for you to join us my Manor for dinner."
"It was indeed a frightful experience," Emma told her, "But it had to be done for Harry's sake right?"
"Yes that thing that used Harry to speak would have likely caused him far worse pain in the future." Narcissa said.
"Then I'm glad its out of him," Daniel said, "As far as your offer for dinner we would love to join. Hermione seems a bit worried about her new friend I doubt she sleep soundly until he wakes up and tells her to go home."
Minerva chuckled weakly, "Very well once we leave the building we'll apparate to my Manor, but brace yourselves you may experience some nausea afterwards."
With that everyone left the Gringotts and returned to McGonagall Manor with the Granger's in tow.
A/N: Goog lord! I amaze myself with my ability to make myself cry while writting this story. I had tears running down my face when I wrote the part about Harry asking his friends and Minerva to hold his hand. Good grief! I got to stop making myself cry!
Up Next: Amelia works with the goblins to collect the two Horcruxes, starting with the one at Malfoy Manor.
