A/N: This story isn't writing itself; only a few more chapters to go. I am working on them now. I've been sick with the worst sinus infection I've ever had. I am going to try to work on getting the rest of these chapters out, but I'll be 100% honest, not sure where it's going for the very end. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for all the reviews, follows, and favorites! I have a new idea milling around in my mind, but we'll see if it becomes a full-fledged story or not.
Morning came, and Sam looked over at Jack. Sam remembered the very odd dream she had last night. The dream was something she couldn't even describe. After all these years, she had occasionally dreamed about her mother, but this was so bold, so vivid it was as if it were real. Her mother was sitting in her favorite chair that had moved with them to every home they had been to. An old blue wingback chair that looked like it was made especially for her mother. She was wearing an elegant dress, something Sam had never seen her mom in before.
"Sam, sweetheart, I am so proud of you." Her mother said in the dream.
Sam looked surprised.
"I always hoped you had everything you wanted, it's been a long time coming, Sam, and I wish it weren't such a long wait for you, but it's worth it. It will all be worth it." Her mother claimed.
Sam tried to talk to her mom, but no words would come out. She was upset she couldn't say a simple hello to her mother.
"Sam, I want you to follow your heart this time; Jack is a keeper. I love you."
"I love you too." Sam was finally able to manage. As quickly as the dream came, it went, and Sam woke up slowly; a new happier, less worried Samantha Carter emerged from her sleep.
"Morning, Sam." He said. Jack had said her name a few times, but it was almost always Carter unless he was overly worried, so for him to say her name so naturally was something that made her heart flutter.
"Jack," she giggled.
"I can get used to this." He claimed, puling Sam even closer towards him.
"Hmm, me too." She smiled.
She kissed his lips, and soon enough, she was on top of him, smiling laughing as he kissed down her neck.
"Tell the guys we're staying in, and they can do whatever they want," Jack stated.
"Not going to happen," Sam claims.
Jack huffed but kissed her again.
"We have a while EPCOT doesn't open until later on, and you know Daniel will sleep until noon if we let him."
"And T?" Jack asks.
"Probably reading up on everything in EPCOT for the fourth time," Sam claims.
"You're right. You sure about this?" Jack asks as he starts pushing his hand up her side.
"Yes," Sam claims.
Jack can't believe this was happening less than 24 hours ago. He was told that Sam Carter was no longer his second in command, and it feels kind of dirty to be doing this now, but at the same time, he can't believe they've held out for so long. He thought for sure that beach trip would do him in, and he would be court marshaled. Now there is nothing to hold them back. Whatever was holding Sam back last night she had let go of and allowed Jack to pull the shirt she was wearing off of her.
Their clothes come off slowly methodically. They've both seen each other in very little if it was tight quarters or being taken hostage. Sometimes it had to do with injuries, but this was different. They never really took each other in. Jack couldn't help but grab one of her breasts when they were exposed, and Sam was shocked by his boldness. She took a deep breath in to hold back a heavy moan knowing Daniel and Teal'c weren't far away. She bit her lip as he continued touching her. She, too, was touching him all over. She had only one goal now, and that was to make sure that she and Jack had mind-blowing sex before they walked 10 miles around a park standing in line in the 80-degree weather all day.
While he's thinking about what just happened, Sam rolls off the bed with a giant smile on her face.
"I think I might need help getting cleaned up," Sam claims.
"Jack has to think about the words that are coming out of her lips, his mind still buzzing from the previous events. He quickly sits up and follows her into the bathroom.
When the 2 emerge at 8:30 am, Teal'c says nothing and doesn't even look up from the magazine that Jack had found in the gift basket when they arrived.
"Daniel Jackson still sleeps," Teal'c claimed.
"I'll get him. I need breakfast," Jack claims.
Jack wakes Daniel up, and Sam takes them to Breakfast before they head to EPCOT.
The group walks through and sees Spaceship Earth, and Sam was surprised by the size. She looks at a map, and the group had already decided to spend 2 days here would be best to get to the rides and see all the pavilions. Of course, they all decide that Mission Space is a must to do, to know how it feels. They all stand in the Orange line and wait. Jack whispers about how Meta this is, and Sam giggles. Jack smiles at her, and Daniel can't help but shake his head at the two of them. When they finally get their turn and come out, the only words spoken are from Jack.
"Well, that was underwhelming."
No one says anything as they spend more time waiting in line than actually riding anything. It's not until the afternoon when Teal'c's hat slides off, and for a moment, the symbol of Apophis is shown. Teal'c quickly puts his hat back on but not before a child runs up to him.
"WOW! Do you work at the Animal Kingdom Lodge?" The boy asks excitedly.
"Everyone looks at the boy for a second before Teal'c replies:
"No, I do not. Why do you ask?"
"You must be just as big of a fan than I am then; that mark on your forehead is that your favorite painting too?" The boy asks.
Sam looks at the child questionably.
"What do you mean?" Sam asks.
The boy looks at her like she is crazy.
"This is my first time here; I don't understand," Sam explains.
A mom comes calling for her child.
"Look, mom, this man has the symbol on his forehead just like in the painting!" The boy yelled.
"Christopher, leave that man alone." The boy's mom yells.
"But mom!" Christopher states.
"Where can we find this painting?" Daniel asks.
"At the Animal Kingdom Lodge, duh!" The boy says.
Christopher's mom is walking up, and he quickly runs back to her, leaving the group with no other information.
"Well, that's interesting," Daniel claims.
"What? That kid has no idea what he's talking about, probably only seen a glimpse." Jack stated.
"Still, I'm curious," Daniel claims.
"Of course you are, Danny," Jack stated.
"I too would like to see the painting the boy describes," Teal'c claimed.
Jack sighs in frustration.
They cut their time short in the park and drive over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Daniel draws the symbol of Apophis on the way. When they get to the front desk, the friendly cast member knows exactly what they are talking about and claims they have the largest African Art on display outside of Africa, she points them in the direction. Sure enough, there is a painting with men with symbols on their forehead. Daniel is instantly intrigued and begins gathering all the information he can, taking pictures and looking around for any other information. As they walk around, an urn with Goa'uld writing is found.
Daniel decides to see if someone can point him in the direction of how to go about looking in storage. He also decides now is the time to make a call, and fingers crossed, get Deb on a plane to Disney World of all places, to help him look through all of this.
"Of course, while we're on vacation, we find work for ourselves!" Jack complains.
Sam smiles. "You expect anything less?" Sam asks.
Jack smiles and shakes his head knowingly.
"Just talked to General Hammond says he is working on permission for storage, and Deb will be flying in tonight luckily, she was in Mexico City," Daniel claims.
Sam smiles, and with not a lot more they can do for the moment, they head back to the park, barely making their reservation to Rose and Crown Pub; they find the evening crowd thinner. They went on Soarin', which Teal c felt was very realistic, and liked the landscapes. The group ended their day with the EPCOT show before heading back to The Contemporary.
A few hours later, Deb knocks on the door, and Daniel hugs her tight, looking at her face before kissing her lightly and pulling her into the room.
"So you guys find trouble at The Happiest Place on Earth?" Deb asks.
"Apparently' Sam claims.
"Well, it looks like Daniel and I have access to storage tomorrow evening; they want us working in the evenings less staff and have given permission to take anything that may be of importance, including that Urn." Deb explains, the painting I believe photos will be good enough, it's apparently fairly recent. The artist is still alive in Morocco I'm interested to see where that goes, that is my next stop, I have until Saturday, and I'm flying to Morocco." Deb explains.
Daniel is happy to have her for as long as he does so unexpectedly.
"After my trip there baring any major discoveries, I'm back at the springs for a while backlog is a mile long, and I'll be back and forth from Colorado Springs and Groom Lake," Deb stated.
"Wait, how long is that for?" Daniel asks excitedly.
"Don't know. They said it could be a few months." Deb smiles.
"A few months!" Daniel repeats. "That's great!"
"Hmm, it is, isn't it?" Deb smiles as Daniel intertwines his arms around her.
Sam smiles at the happy couple, glad that he is happening for her best friend.
"We have much to celebrate," Teal'c claims.
"Yes, we do T!"
"Alright, campers, It's been a long day," Jack claims.
The group agrees before going to sleep for the night.
The next morning, the group decides that with everything they learned, they would go to Animal Kingdom instead, the park closing earlier than the rest and giving Daniel and Deb a full day at the park before going to the storage facility. They weren't given detail of how much material they would find but was told everything was cataloged, and they should have no trouble finding needed objects. Deb had been up before anyone else, and she had gotten a shower and got a cup of coffee ready before Sam came tiptoeing out to the living area.
"Morning," Deb claimed.
"Hey, you're up early," Sam mentioned.
"Not really can't keep a steady schedule flying time zone to time zone, so I just wake up whenever I feel unless there are time constraints.
"Daniel told me the news." Deb smiled.
"Yeah, well, it's certainly different," Sam claims.
"Good different or bad different?" Deb asks.
"Good for the most part, but I can't help feel there is something Jack's not telling me," Sam claims.
"Like what?" Deb asks.
"I don't know, something he knows I won't exactly like. This is all too easy. Something has to give, and I don't know if I'm prepared for what that is." Sam claims.
"Why don't you ask him?" Deb asks.
"Because Jack, is Jack and he will deny the issue until he has to admit there is an issue," Sam claims.
Deb smiles.
"You'll figure it out," Deb stated.
"Glad you're here. Daniel was elated to find out you'd be here," Sam claims.
"Mm, not my dream vacation, but I'm not mad." Deb laughs.
Around that time, Jack woke up and came in. He didn't hug Sam but leaned on her slightly, and she leaned back into his side.
"Morning." He claims.
Sam looks up at him, wishing every morning would be something like this. He isn't a hand holder but nor is she, so this affection is something that is comfortable for both of them.
Deb hands Jack a cup of coffee, and the three talks about her time in Mexico City before Daniel slips out, leaving Teal'c by himself.
"Hey, you're awake," Daniel claims.
"Yeah, couldn't sleep," Deb claims.
The group theorizes about what could be found in the storage, and Teal'c and Sam agree to help, then Jack finally agrees it would be too boring alone in the hotel room. They head out to Animal Kingdom.
Sam remembers one of the first things that SG-1 did when Teal'c was cleared to go out of the SGC was to take him to the Zoo. He was fascinated by the vast array of animals on earth. Through the years, he has read about animals and seen a multitude, but there were various animals at Animal Kingdom Teal'c had never seen before.
They, of course, wanted to ride the rides, but the main feature was the Animals. A Bugs Life was immersive and humorous. Although targeted at young kids, they all enjoyed their time inside the Tree of Life. They walked around trails looking at various Animals. The Giant Anteater was something to behold, and Daniel and Deb took a liking to it. They stayed to watch them eat and interact. The Macaws were randomly speaking as people walked by. The flamingo's stood taller than Teal'c expected, and he enjoyed watching them dip their heads for a meal. Sam admitted she loved Cheetahs, and they watched the group of cats lounge in the sun. A pygmy goat took to Jack and followed him around, making odd noises at the man, making the whole group laugh, and calling him goat whisperer the rest of the day. They stood in line for the Safari a few times throughout the day, taking pictures of Lions and elephants, zebras, and crocodiles. The group really enjoyed their time.
When it was nearing the end of the day, they stood in line for Dinosaur, and for some reason, the dinosaur really did catch Sam off guard, giving a perfect picture. Jack said: "they just had to take home." Sam was annoyed by it but didn't say anything.
Deb had reminded them of the time they got dinner to go and headed to the building that Deb was given direction to the night prior. The building was a large beige building, and you wouldn't know they were on Disney property; it looked a little worse for wear compared to anything you'd see in the park or hotel. Deb knocked on the door, and the man popped out, confused for a second.
"Hi, we're with the US Air Force," Deb says politely.
"Oh, I didn't know there would be so many of you. I was told it would only be 1-2 of you." The man replied.
"Change of plans." Jack simply said.
The man didn't say much but walked them through a mirage of rooms, and some were offices, some were storage, others seemed to have no purpose whatsoever, large empty rooms with lights on but nothing inside. They turned down 2 more hallways, and finally, the man came to a door, put his key card in, and opened the door.
"This is African art and artifacts that are rotated throughout the year, we store here, there is are catalogs of everything we currently have, here, and past catalogs, since the opening of the Animal Kingdom Lodge in 2001, the man claimed. Everything is clearly labeled if you need anything, let us know." The man said and walked away, leaving the group to their research.
All 5 took a book and began to look for anything useful. The books had pictures too small for the most part to see if anything was worthwhile, so Sam and Deb decided to go through the actual physical items looking for anything allowing the men to continue to see if there was anything of interest.
Teal'c had called out after 3 hours, giving Deb the self and lot number. Sure enough, it some ritual basin with an ancient dialect of Goa'uld writing. There was no danger. Teal'c thought it was just a ceremonial bowl. About an hour later, Deb found an open urn that would have housed a Goa'uld Symbiote at one time, but it had been put back together out in the field, so it had been emptied long ago. As time wore on, they found a few other things and even found more paintings by the artist that was displayed so prominently in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. They even found a painting of the Stargate itself. Well, a large ring in the background, with a DHD. Deb pulled it to take with her and found another depicting several gate symbols. The group was in awe that they had just been sitting here, but once again, they were paintings, and no one would think anything of it. After hours and they have gone through what they could. Now with more questions than answers, they back up. Deb makes a few calls, and luckily they don't think it's a pressing manner. Disney had all the items for multiple years so that a few more days wouldn't hurt anything. So she was packing the paintings up, and she would be going to Africa in a few days but had been given a few days off, so she was staying with Daniel and the rest of SG-1. Until flying out once again before heading back for a long stay in Colorado Springs.
Used to the late nights and the jet lag, they were shocked that it was already 4 am when they got back to the hotel. Although tired, they weren't exhausted. It was an interesting day and nothing they had prepared for, which was as usual as any other day. With everything that happened and being in work mode, Sam completely forgot that she and Jack were sharing a bed and jumped slightly when Jack sank down in the space next to her.
"Sorry, Sam, is everything okay?" Jack asks.
Sam stared at him for a fraction of a second, reminding herself this hadn't been a dream. She smiled widely, then frowned, remembering there still was something that Jack wasn't telling her.
"What is it?" Jack asks.
"Nothing," Sam claims.
Jack frowns but knows better than to push.
"If you want, I can take back over the other bed," Jack suggests.
"No!" Sam says quickly. Jack smiles and wraps his arm around, pulling her towards him as the 2 drift off to sleep.
