Author's Note: Now I know that this was written almost a year ago, but I thought maybe I could make a story out of it. Although, I'm exactly sure where I might go with it, but I have an idea. If you guys have any ideas let me know through a review and I might add them into the story. And yes I'll still be writing my other story. So let's continue this one! Now I know that Lenny is turning 17 this year, but I wanted to take this story after the movie ended because I don't want to change anything that happened at that time so we'll with him being 19, almost 20. This is six months after the movie.

Chapter 2: Legends...

Way before the movie started…

Frankie and Lenny were only pups when Don Lino had gotten into a war with a species known as Legends. They took the form of humans, but they all had their own special powers. They all had the ability to breathe underwater and talk to animals. They all had special powers that no one had the same. There was once a time were the Legends and the shark mafia used to be great friends. The king and queen of the legends had two children. A five-year-old son named Damien, and a four-year-old girl, whose name no one seemed to remember…

The king and queen were great friends with Don Lino, and their children were very close. One day the king and queen got into an argument with Don Lino and it was said that the war went on for a long time before all the legends had finally been slain. You see they couldn't die, so to speak. They could be killed, but they would regenerate and come back. There was only one specific way they could be slain. A shark's teeth were strong enough to pierce their skin. If a shark happened to get close enough their head was to be ripped off. The royal family was the last to die. The king and queen were brutally tortured by Don Lino before he got to the boy. He had come to the same fate…

Once he had gotten to the girl he bit down on her arm and was ready to get her head off when something from the dark yanked her away and swallowed her whole. Don Lino never saw what it was, but knew that the job had been done for him. Now all legends were gone. No one would ever try to hurt his family again…

Or so he thought…

15 and a half years later…

Lenny is now 19 and a half.

Lenny was staring at a painting in the dining hall. It was the war between his family and the legend's family. He didn't remember it because he was only a little guy when it had happened, but from the stories he'd always hear about it, it was pretty brutal. Thank goodness he wasn't a part of it. He'd wanted to know what had happened between them and his father that had caused them to go to war so suddenly. He had asked his father about it multiple times, but he refused to talk about it and when he used to ask Frankie he didn't remember much because he was also still just a pup when it happened, but there was one small detail he did remember.

The name had just stuck in his brain. There was also something else he always seemed to remember. He remembered a woman shouting, " You will wish you had never said that! I'll kill you!" And that was all he could ever manage. I hadn't asked about it in a while. It had been months, and I did have an excuse for needing to know this now. I was about to be made the don in just a month. It was terrifying, but it was a job that needed to be done. Lenny checked the time. It was nine past ten. " Oh my gosh! I totally forgot! I'm supposed to meet Oscar and Angie today!" Lenny rushed to get out of the dining hall. Quickly scooching by every shark at the line where all the food was set. " Excuse me. Sorry. Pardon me."

Once had finally gotten past all the hungry sharks he was free to escape. He was just about to go out when his father called. " Lenny where are you rushing off to?" He was swimming towards the dining hall where all the others were. He began to swims towards Lenny, his fins behind his back like always.

" Well, I was just about to go visit Oscar and Angie. It's our scheduled time to see each other." Lenny replied. He knew his father was going to tell him something he didn't want to hear by the look in his eyes.

" Look, Lenny, I get that you are great friends with them, but you realize in a month when you take over that you won't have much time with them anymore." Lino tried to explain.

" Yes, I know that. That's why I am trying to spend as much time with them as possible before I take over. This will be the last time. They only get one day a month off." Lenny was about to take off again when Lino stopped him a second time. " Lenny, you need to let them go. I think you should start thinking about dating. Pick up a girl and get a little heir, you know?" Lino was trying to be encouraging.

" Ugh. Dad. No one will want me. I mean look at me." Lenny had gotten completely distracted by the turn of the subject and had completely forgotten about the task at hand.

Lino looked him up and down and said," What? You think that because you're not as buff as the rest of us that you won't get a girl?" Lino smiled. " If you put yourself out there, maybe someone would give you a chance," Lino smirked.

" Nope. Uh uh. I am not "putting myself out there". I'll just hurt. I know how awful it was for you to lose mom because of an illness. I don't want that to happen to me." Lenny began twiddling with his fins.

Lino sighed. " You know, you always let your worries get the best of you."

Lenny looked Lino directly in his eyes. What Lino saw was a terrified little boy who desperately needed help taking control of the whole reef if he'd just give someone a chance.

" Can I go now?" Lenny begged.

" Yes. But be back by noon. We have more training to do." Lino said sternly.

" Bye, Pop. I'll see you later!" Lenny shouted as he darted out into the sea.

Lino swam towards the outside and watched him go. " Stubborn sea mule." He chuckled on his way to the dining hall.

Meanwhile at Angie's and Oscar's apartment…

It was now a quarter past nine. Lenny was late as usual lately. Neither Angie nor Oscar seemed to know why he keep showing up late to their gatherings. They were prepared to question him once he got there. If he got there at all…

They heard a loud noise coming from the front door outside. They knew that sound from anywhere. It was Lenny. He always tried to be gentle, but it never seemed to come out that way. Oscar opened the front door and said," Well, look who decided to show up."

Lenny chuckled nervously. " Sorry guys, I didn't realize the time and then my father stopped me to talk about settling down again… It was just a bit of a rush this morning."

" Oh, Lenny it's okay!" Angie gave him a quick squeeze on his nose. "We know you've been busy lately, but why have you been late every time for the past few months now. You're not usually late."

" Yeah, dude. I swear it seems like you're trying to avoid us!" Oscar swam up to Lenny and gave him a noogie on his head.

There was a reason, but it was a reason didn't want to have to tell them, but he knew he had to. " Well, you see, I'm going to become the Don next month which means I'll be spending much more time away from you guys and once I do become the Don I'll have to let you guys go and live your lives without me. It's to keep you safe. I don't want you to get hurt." Lenny said sheepishly. He felt like he was about to cry. He would miss them, but it was for their own safety.

" You mean to tell me you're gonna be like the ruler of this whole city in a month and you weren't gonna say anything?" Oscar was a bit hurt that Lenny didn't tell his best friend this particular secret.

" You're not upset that I won't get to see you as much anymore?" Lenny wiped a tear away from his cheek.

" Of course we're sad that we won't get to hang out as much, but why didn't you tell us sooner? We could've planned something special for today." Angie asked sadly.

" I guess I let my worries get the best of me. Again." Lenny answered. " But at least we have today. Or until noon at least." Lenny replied nervously.

" Only until noon? Dang! Your dad is beating you up with this training isn't he?" Oscar asked as they began swimming around past the city like they normally would any other time they'd hang out. Lenny had a weird feeling that they were being watched.

Lenny heard the question but saw something move out of the corner of his eye. He watched as something was slowly moving towards the shadows where it became almost invisible. He began to swim towards it.

" Lenny? Hey, Buddy, you okay?" Oscar hopped right onto Lenny's face, which stopped Lenny short. " Oh! Sorry! Something caught my eye for a second. Umm, yeah the training is hard, but it is helpful. My dad is pretty gracious when I make a mistake, which isn't often. He says I just need to toughen up a bit and I'll be fine." Lenny lifted Oscar off of his face so he could see. They had reached the kelp fields. He remembered he used to play hide and seek with someone when he was little, but then she disappeared one day and never came back...

" What was that?" Angie pointed towards the kelp fields. Something had darted into them. Hiding.

" Guys get behind me." I knew I couldn't fight, but I could still try to keep them from getting hurt. They did as they were told and hid behind my back, clutching my dorsal fin in case we needed to take off. " Who's there?" I shouted. Immediately a shadow darted out of the fields quicker than any other sea creature I'd seen. " Hold on guys!" I began to chase after it. Curious to see what was swimming away from us.

" Are you sure chasing something is a good idea?" Oscar asked worriedly. He wasn't planning on dying today. Actually, he was planning on something much better.

" We'll be fine. If it tries to hurt us I'll swim away. You know nothing is faster than me." Lenny had just about caught up to the thing they were chasing and once the thing had finally stopped to breathe he saw what it really was.

He gasped. " A legend?"

Author's Note: So… What did you think? I've actually had the idea of this legend species for a long time. I just thought I might share it. I hope you like it. I do plan on continuing. Please read and review! :)
