The skies grow dark, as you walk into the crypt. The smell of death and decay rains through your senses as you taste the rotting flesh, smell the decay through the air. As you stand there you hear shuffling in the rooms beyond, as you come closer to the rooms beyond you hear bones clash on the ruin tiles in the room beyond. The door shoots open as you see a figure of a robed skeleton point at you. What do you do?

"Tucker really a skeleton? We were expecting something dangerous. You forced Sam and me over here to play this game as you set up the new antivirus software. After you got a major virus." the young male who had dark hair and was wearing his usual clothes.

"Yeah Tuck, this seems rather boring, a single skeleton, we destroyed an entire legion of them before it led us to this dumb crypt. Danny is right. You dragged us from our date and locked us in this ectoproof room just to play this game." the gothic teen said as she just huffed and glared at the teen sitting across from her who was smirking.

"So be it, let this be the final battle of the evening. The skeleton figure is still pointing its finger at you, Danny make a constitution saving throw as the finger darkens and a ray of black is shot at you." the robbed teen said as he sits behind a screen smirking to himself.

"Wow a magic using skeleton, woopy do. This is gonna be cake." Danny said as he rolled a twenty sided dice and it rolled on a 5. "Crap I got a plus 5 to con, so I got a 10" she said with pride. "This may hurt but this skeleton got nothing on me"

Tucker smiled as he rolled 7 dice behind his screen to the shock of his friend who looked worried at the sound of multiple dice. A smirk appeared behind the screen. "Lothor takes 65 necrotic damage and I will need you each to roll initiative."

"What the hell? A freaking magic using skeleton has that much power?" he said, confused. "Great, I only have 50 hit points left." Danny said as he rolled his dice which rolled a 12. "Sweet I got a 17. Bring it Lothor raising his greatsword." Danny says getting excited that he can end this game.

"Since it's a skeleton it should have weak hit points, and reduced stats, so we are fine." Sam said as she rolled her dice. "I got a 15 plus 5 to my initiative bonus so I got a 20." she smugly said. "Lilith raises her daggers and prepares for battle." she said while holding Danny's hand.

Tucker smiles as he rolls his dice. He looks up and places the dice he just rolled in front of his two friends. "A natural twenty I go first" he looks at Danny. "Shavos La'ku Sha. Lothor is dropped to 0 hitpoints dead on the floor with no saving throw." he turned to his friends who stared at him with anger in their eyes.

"Tuck what the hell, was that?" Danny yelled before being hushed by Tucker who pointed at Sam.

"Lilith it is your turn." Tucker simply said while smirking.

"Lilith , turns to lothor and then turns to the skeleton and charges it. She swings both her daggers at it." she said while rolling two twenty sided dice. Two natural twenties rolled and she smirked. She then rolled the damage dice and multiplied the results. "That's 18 damage and since it's a skeleton it is toast." she said with a smile but it dropped as Tucker was laughing.

"Foolish mortals, you dare come to my lair and try to destroy me. Sam roll a constitution saving throw." Tucker said.

She rolled her dice and it rolled a natural one. "I got a 5." she said.

"Lilith, you take 24 necrotic damage at the end of your turn now it's the skeleton's turn." he said with each of his friends eyeing him. "Lilith you see the skeleton point's it's finger at you and it is glowing green.." he said while rolling 19 dice. "Lilith what is your health right now?" he stated and looked at her.

"I'm down to ninety-five right now." she said while looking at him confused.

"You take one hundred and seventeen pounds of force damage as you start to turn into dust." he looked up to his friends with a worried look on his face. "Well it looks like we had our first total party kill."

Danny growled, "Tucker what was that thing it took me out like I was nothing." he looked at his friend.

"It was a lich." he said. "It is a legal monster, I swear. I haven't homebrewed it yet." he turned to his friends who looked like they were in a daze trying to figure out what he was saying.

"Tucker, that wasn't fair, that thing was way too powerful for us." Sam questioned. "And what is a lich by the way?"

"A lich is a monster that was once human." he looked at his friends and sighed. "A lich is a necromancer that used a ritual to become a lich, the ritual isn't always labeled out there are a lot of Dm's who have their own ritual to become one. Either from performing a gruesome ritual that includes human sacrifices, cannibalism, or even disgusting laying with the dead. But they always have the same ending: drinking an elixir of unknown substance to kill their mortal self while they move their soul to an object. Just be graceful that Liches are just fantasy and not real Danny." he said while looking at his friend.

"What do you mean Tuck?" Danny asked curiously.

"Liches they control the dead and undead, remember what freakshow did with the staff to control you like a pawn, they can do that with their will. If we fought one you will be our greatest weakness." Tucker said while looking at his computer and sighing. I was looking up some occult sights for references for a campaign I am writing but I found this mysterious site labeled. 'The lich cult' I thought it looked interesting and tried to enter it. It was password protected and the only hint was a quote. 'How do you water the tree of death. I wrote in blood and it blocked me. I then tried to hack my way into it and I got a virus." he said before sighing and lowering the ectoshields allowing Danny to leave.

The two love birds were overjoyed with being able to leave. They just left and said their goodbyes and they wanted a rematch with the lich which made Tucker happy to hear.

Across the town in the cemetery

In a crypt a robed figure was chanting hoping to hear something before a being with hair of fire manifested before him and the fire haired beauty was unknowingly being watched. "So it is real." the robed figure said before reducing the image to dust. He soon sat down in the crypt as he laid out before him bread that was glazed with honey and simple milk for him to drink. He removed his hood to reveal his unkempt hair, his hair was tangled and full of knots. His face was paler than what most humans would accept in their normal society. He turned to his meal. "Soon my work will be done and I will become one with the lords of death." he soon prayed a dark prayer before eating his meal. "Soon I will control the hero who saved the world."
