"Jiji! JIJI!!"
Tobirama smiled at Naruto as he died peacefully in his arms with his body disintegrated, causing the Ring of the Lucii to fall to the ground. He picked up the ring and clenched it tightly as Izumi chuckled.
"Poor you, Naruto. If only you agree to join me, you could prevent that old fool's death."
Slowly, Naruto rose up as his hair became black with his Mangyekō Sharingan spinning furiously. He produced purple rainbow aura as black liquid-like substance covering his bare arms and legs.
"You... YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!"
"Naruto, don't!"
Ignoring Minato's warn, Naruto dashed towards Izumi who stood between Tsuchikage and Raikage. The Yondaime Raikage scoffed and swung his arm that coated with Raiton chakra but something strange happened.
The next thing he knew was he's laying in a massive crater with Tsuchikage's face buried into the ground while Izumi was shocked as she looked at her stomach and saw Naruto's arm went through it.
"DIE!!"
"!!"
Naruto immediately woke up from his sleep and shook his head. He looked at the clock on his desk and immediately get off the bed, grabbed his towel and went to the toilet to wash his face.
It's been three days since he kept dreaming Tobirama dying in his arms. He tried to ignore it but the dream keep haunting him.
'It just a dream...'
Naruto thought to himself in attempt to calm himself down. He took a deep breath and took a shower. Half an hour later, he went to the kitchen in a new attire.
A dark, form-fitting shirt with red armbands, a pair of Anbu pants with red leg warmers and dark shinobi sandals. His headband was tied around his neck with a pouch on his right hip and a dagger strapped on his back above his buttocks.
"Jiji! I'm heading now!" said Naruto to Tobirama who came out from kitchen.
"Wait. You better be careful because of that seal. I already inform your sensei to find someone other than your family to remove it." said Tobirama to Naruto who crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.
"Why can't I just learn to control it?" asked Naruto to Tobirama.
"It is very dangerous and that seal contain Izumi's DNA." replied Tobirama to Naruto. "And I don't know how she could learn that jutsu but according to what Tsunade said to me before... Orochimaru once created a jutsu to seal someone's Kekkai Genkai and Hiruko stole that jutsu and with that jutsu, he derived the Cursed Seal of Heaven and he probably taught it to Izumi."
Naruto didn't say anything but Tobirama knew he is very worry about himself. He went to the Chosen King and placed his hand on his shoulder, gently squeezed it to comfort him.
"Don't worry, your sensei will find someone to help you to remove it." said Tobirama to Naruto.
"Who else knew about it?" asked Naruto to Tobirama.
"Your sensei, Tsunade, your parents, and me." said Tobirama to Naruto who frowned.
"Hey old man, do you know anything about Sage Art?" asked Naruto to Tobirama in order to calm himself down.
Tobirama smiled when he remembered his elder brother, Hashirama, disappeared months after Uchiha Madara left the village. His sudden disappeared caused the villagers to shock and worry about his condition as he only left a note for Tobirama and Mito stating he went to a very far place to train.
Weeks later, he came back but he was in a pretty bad shape. He barely could stand and maintain his consciousness, he was covered in cuts and burnt marks, bleeding badly and low chakra.
Miraculously, he survived and refused to tell Tobirama and Marida from where he learnt the Sage Art that known as Monk True Sage.
"My elder brother learnt the Sage Art from someone and he refused to tell me who taught him and where did he trained. His Sage Art is Monk True Sage. He also learnt Ancient Dragon Sage Art but unable to master it due to Madara attacking the village, a Taki-nin tried to assassinate him and the First Great Shinobi War." said Tobirama sadly as he remembered Hashirama dying on the bed with his family and friends surrounding him. "Why?"
"I had a dream once about the first King learning Sage Art, Ancient Dragon Sage Art to defeat the Greatest Calamity and prior to the final battle, he wrote a message on indestructible stones that scattered across the world, telling something that I don't understand. From who he learnt the Sage Art is mystery but he did left clues of the location." replied Naruto to Tobirama. "Hashirama-sama didn't leave any clue about the location?"
Tobirama shook his head and said, "He explained to me that part of the deal to learn it is never tell anyone from who he learnt and the location. And you said the first King left clues?"
"Yes but it will take weeks or months to get there. Anyway, I gotta go now. Wish me luck." said Naruto to Tobirama as he waved at the retired Kage and left the house.
Arriving at the Konoha's Arena for the third phase, Naruto saw the participants who passed the second phase talking to their friends and the sensei of each team observing them at the spectator area.
He saw Team 7, Team 8, Team 9 from the previous year, Team 10, Team 11, Satsuki and Yakumo, Team Haku, Team Ryujin, Team Kurotsuchi, Kumo Team and Yami Team. He also saw Obito, Kakashi, Kurenai, Guy, Asuma, the Suna jōnin, the Hoshi jōnin, the Iwa jōnin, the Kiri jōnin, the Kumo jōnin and the Yami jōnin.
Naruto quickly went to Obito's side, earning the Uchiha's attention. He said, "Sensei, after my match, can you help me to remove that thing?"
"I can't remove it since it is very difficult for me to remove it and the person who can remove it is unavailable but I can at least suppress it." said Obito to Naruto.
"Well, that's better than waiting for whoever that person is to come here to remove it." replied Naruto as he crossed his arms. "Well, wish me luck."
Naruto jumped to the arena just in time as Minato and Hayate arrived. He walked to Satsuki and Yakumo before received a hug from them.
"Good luck Naruto!"
"This time I'm going to make you proud!"
Naruto smiled and said, "You already did but please stop hugging me, Satsuki, Yakumo... I don't really like physical contact."
Both Satsuki and Yakumo blushed before broke their hug. Minato then cleared his throat to draw everyone's attention and said,
"Good morning everyone. First of all, I am so proud of you for passing the second phase, the survival test and since the amount of the participants who passed the second phase are bigger than we expect, we decided to make the third phase as the preliminary match to reduce the number."
"Well Hokage-sama, allow me to do this." said Hayate to Minato who nodded his head, telling him to take care and don't push himself despite Tsunade healed his illness. "Good morning, my name is Gekkō Hayate and I will be your proctor for this match. Now since we have 36 participants, we have to reduce it to 16. Now, please take a look at the monitor."
Match 1 : Namikaze Uzumaki Naruto Vs Han
"Will everyone except Naruto and Han left the arena?" asked Hayate to everyone, leaving only he, Naruto and Han left in the arena as the others went to the spectator area. "Now the rule is simple, if your opponent is give up or knock out, you are the winner. No killing. I will stop it if thing goes wrong."
Both Naruto and the Iwa-nin that covered in armour nodded their heads as Hayate raised his hand and screamed hajime as he brought it down, causing both shinobi to jump away to create some distance.
Steam could be seen coming out from Han's armour, making everyone felt weird except for Kurotsuchi and her other friend, Ichi, as well as their sensei. Naruto narrowed his eyes at Han before witnessed he vanished from thin air.
Obito immediately screamed, "NARUTO! DODGE!"
Naruto dodged just in time to avoid a powerful punch that will definitely blew his head had he didn't dodge. He looked at the wall behind him and saw it was destroyed with just a single punch.
"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu."
Summoning three clones which made Naruto winced in pain as the Cursed Mark slowly taking control of him, Naruto threw several shuriken at Han who avoided it and charged at Naruto. The Iwa-nin destroyed the clones and charged towards Naruto who's in pain. He delivered rapid flurry of punches and volley of kicks that forced Naruto to avoid it.
'Use my power...'
Naruto winced in pain and received a powerful punch that stunned Naruto for a few seconds but he managed to recover just in time to avoid an axe kick. He tried to perform a jutsu but the Cursed Mark caused him to feel pain and burning, allowing Han to land a powerful hit to Naruto that sent him to the wall.
'Pathetic! Use my power and I will crush the enemy!'
'Shut up! Who the hell are you?!'
The mysterious female voice that taunting Naruto didn't say anything other than giving him a creepy laughter. Few seconds later, Naruto screamed in pain and fell to his knee, clutching his neck tightly as the Cursed Mark slowly taking over him.
'Shisui... Help me!!'
Miraculously, the Cursed Mark stop taking over him as Han rushed towards him and delivered a punch. Naruto avoided it at last minute and delivered a powerful uppercut that knocked out Han.
"Winner! Namikaze Uzumaki Naruto!!"
The Konoha-nin cheered as Naruto fell to the ground but Obito caught him and vanished with him, heading to a location to suppress the Cursed Mark.
Location : Unknown
Both Naruto and Obito arrived at a very secured location. Naruto immediately removed his clothes as Obito began to draw seal pattern all over his body. Then he wrote 絶望 (Zetsubō) that represents Despair on North, 苦しむ (Kurushimu) that represents Suffer on East, 怒り (Ikari) that represent Anger on West, and 憎しみ (Nikushimi) that represents Hatred on South.
Performing a set of hand seals, Obito shouted,
"Fūja Hōin!! (Evil Sealing Method)."
Obito slammed his palm on Naruto's neck where the seal was located, immediately Naruto screamed in agony loudly. After five minutes which seems to be an hour to Naruto, the process is done but caused Naruto to pass out.
Suddenly,
"My, my. You really refuse to hand him over to me huh?"
Obito turned around and saw Izumi standing not too far from him with a smirk. The Uchiha took a fighting stance as his Sharingan spinning furiously.
"You move and I will end your life!" said Obito to Izumi.
"End my life? Like how you tried before on that night but fail?" mocked Izumi to Obito who gritted his teeth. "Just give that boy to me, Obito... I'll promise you I won't harm that boy."
"Tch! You better stay at there Izumi!" said Obito in anger tone to Izumi. "Just because you can nullify my intangibility ability, that doesn't mean you can defeat me! I've become stronger since I left you!"
"Oh really? But you still have that weakness didn't you?" asked Izumi to Obito which made him flinched. "Give him to me and I will revive her, Obito. Not as an imperfect immortal mindless zombie but as a human. Flesh and blood."
"She's lying, Obito."
Izumi turned around and saw the Yami jōnin who Naruto saw earlier at the arena, standing not too far from Izumi with a glare at the Uchiha.
"Mikhail."
Location : Konoha's Arena
"Man, where did you think Obito-sensei go?" asked Satsuki to Yakumo who shrugged off her shoulders. "Says what do you think about Shikamaru's match?"
Yakumo replied, "To be honest, Sai should know from the beginning that Shikamaru will win. He even tricked all of us with his laziness."
"What about Kiba and that Yami-nin, Tifa?"
Yakumo rubbed her chin and said, "I pity that dog breath but that's what he get for being too arrogant. What about Shino against that Kumo-nin, Karui?"
"I am speechless how Shino drain all Karui's chakra."
"What about Ino and Sakura?"
Satsuki didn't say anything other than giving a sigh which made Yakumi giggled. Everyone agreed that Ino's match against Sakura is the worst of all since all they did were talking about their friendship, rival, chasing same crush, being bully by boys (Sakura) and gathering flowers together (Ino).
"Winner by knockout! Kagami Mirai!"
Both Satsuki and Yakumo gazing at the silver haired Yami-nin who had just beat Choji. They looked at each other and then saw the names on the monitor.
Kirishima Hayami vs Omoi
"Man, poor Choji. He was badly beaten by that girl." said Satsuki to Yakumo.
"I know but I noticed that whenever she punch Choji, her fist became slightly dark grey." replied Yakumo as both Kumo-nin and Yami-nin fought against each other. "Man, we have a lot of powerful enemies."
"I agree but let's more worry about Naruto-"
Before Satsuki could finish her sentence, Yakumo interrupted her, "You fell in love with him isn't it?"
"Wh-What?!"
Yakumo narrowed her eyes at the blushing Uchiha Princess who looked away. She leaned forward and said,
"You fell in love with him didn't you? Tell me. TELL ME! HE'S MINE!"
Angrily, Satsuki pulled the collar of Yakumo's shirt and said, "HE'S MINE! NOT YOURS!"
And so, the two girls were bickering about a certain guy while those who heard their argument were shaking their head and crying about youth becoming a true adult.
The dark haired jōnin with dark blue eyes smirked at Izumi which made the female Uchiha scoffed and looked at Obito before gave a glance to the unconscious Naruto.
Immediately, she rushed towards Obito but Mikhail stood before her, blocking her from getting Naruto.
"Obito, bring Naruto to Nidaime-sama. Now!"
Obito nodded his head and carried the unconscious Naruto before thanked Mikhail and Shushin away. The female Uchiha glared and activated her Mangyekō Sharingan.
Mikhail smirked as his body surrounded by red silhouette of a man wearing armour with the head resembles of a Japanese rhinoceros beetle.
"Kabuto : Kurokku Appu! Kabuto : Clock up!)."
Immediately, Mikhail disappeared from Izumi's sight and ran around her which made Izumi having a bit trouble to catch his movement since he's moving as fast as speed of light.
"Fainaru Arutimetto Atakku: K-K-Kabuto! (Final Ultimate Attack : K-K-Kabuto!)."
Izumi turned around and saw Mikhail delivered a flying kick to her which is so fast for her to dodge. In order to protect herself, Izumi summoned Susanoo that took the form of ribcage.
"Tch! Susanoo.."
"Not bad..." said Izumi as she jumped away and deactivated her Mangyekō Sharingan. "It is nice to have a spar against you, Mikhail. The next time we meet, I'll bring an old friend of you."
Mikhail watched Izumi disappeared from his sight, leaving him alone to wonder about this old friend. He cursed Izumi and summoned a blurry rectangle portal before entered it.
Location : Outside of Tobirama's house
Arriving at the Nidaime's house, Mikhail knocked the door and was greeted by an old man with his trademark stoically face.
"Mikhail?"
"Jiji, it's been a while."
Tobirama smiled and gestured Mikhail to enter. He then went to the kitchen and came back with a cup of tea.
"I heard that Izumi tried to take Naruto again." said Tobirama to Mikhail who nodded his head. "Where is she now?"
"She's gone. Where is Obito?" asked Mikhail to Tobirama before he saw Obito walked downstairs. "You mind if I speak with Obito in private?"
Tobirama nodded his head at the child of his old friend before went to Naruto's room, leaving both Mikhail and Obito alone.
"So, he is the Chosen King huh?"
"How did you knew that?" asked Obito to the Yami jōnin who once fought him decades ago prior leaving Izumi.
"With my Aurora Curtain, I could time travel and travel to any parallel worlds, remember? But enough for that, I am here to keep an eye on that boy." said Mikhail as he finished his tea.
"The last time you told me that, the person who you kept an eye was murdered by you." replied Obito with a serious face. "Stay away from my student if you value our friendship."
"I'm keeping my eye on him because he is not what he meant to be in the future." replied Mikhail which made Obito confused. He rose up from his seat and summoned Aurora Curtain that consumed them and transported them to the future, 20 years from now.
Arriving at a hill that overlooking a massive temple, Mikhail then said, "He wasn't meant to be the Chosen King. There was no Chosen King at the first place, it was a lie told by the Royal Kings to everyone."
Obito then saw a beast with one eye and ten tails were being chained between two moutains and behind the temple. Immediately, his eyes widened when he saw that creature.
"The Jyuubi... B-But how?! Does this mean Izumi succeeded in capturing all Bijuū in the future?"
"Yes. A great war happened in the future where a lot of people died and those people including you, your another two students, his friends and his wife and daughter. His rage allowed Izumi to manipulate his heart to rule the world alongside her."
"Did he launch..."
Mikhail grimly nodded his head and said, "Yes. He launched the Mugen Tsukuyomi after wiping out half of humanity and half of those who trapped by the Genjutsu was brainwashed to worship him and Izumi as Gods."
Then, Mikhail continued, "Ever since that happened, Naruto sat on the throne and spent his time on having a fantasy where everyone that he loves are alive and live happily with him. A cruel final fantasy."
Location : Ohma Naruto's throne
Future Naruto could be seen sitting on the throne with his head resting on his fist. A single tear fell from his right eye as he whispered in his normal voice,
"Mizuki."
He then opened his eyes and noticed two figures that overlooking him from cliff which made him rose up from his throne and teleported to their location.
"Shit!"
Mikhail quickly summoned the Aurora Curtain but Future Naruto destroyed it with a single punch as he radiating intense killer intent.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Obito stepped forward and said, "Naruto."
"Obito-sensei..."
