Prologue- (Angela's P.O.V.)

I sighed as I walked towards my dad's house to pick up my children, Once again... I had another argument with my mother. "Crazy bitch.", I whispered under my breath as I then knocked on the door. It took a few seconds, but my dad soon opened the door. "Angela!", My Dad said with a smile on his face.

"Hi, Dad.", I said with a small smile on my face. Dad chuckled, "Ready to pick up the rascals?".

"Yes...how are they doing?", I asked as I walked inside his house. "Very well behaved...I thought your kids would be a bit more trouble making..", Dad chuckled.

"They are very mature for their age.", I said with a smile on my face. Ashley and Alex are my joy and pride in this world, and the duo are now 14 years old. Dad glanced at me, "No matter what, the kids always cheer you up. Even if you had a fight with your mother again...

I grimaced lightly, "That obvious?". Dad sighed softly, "You always have a glint of annoyance when it comes to your mother.". I crossed my arms as I sighed...

Let me start from the beginning. My name is Angela Walker, and I am 26 years old. I was born to a middle-class set of parents. Dad is the best father I am happy ever to have. He was very understanding when the incident happened, through I don't call it a incident. It was rather circumstances that brought me to be a teenage mom with twins.

But for Mom, well, she somehow seems to hate being a mother, always seeking time to work or socialize with her girlfriends, and there was the fact that she actually said that word at my face when I told them that I was pregnant...Even Dad was upset when he heard her say that as he truly cares for kids, being a awesome school teacher.

A...ab..abortion... was the word she willingly said to my face...Can you believe that? Oh, there was small snippets about doing chores and stuff before, nothing big, but after my twins came, the fights with her became more intense...Why, I couldn't go for a week without a fight or two, and it's damn exhausting!

My children were not born from a one night stand...at the age of 14...I was raped. My older brother had taken me to the park so I could play on the playground. Being a big kid, my choices were either swinging or the jungle gym. Luckily, there was a teenage sized jungle gym next to the small kid jungle gym. I was focused on breaking my record of rope monkey bar workouts when it happened.

A group of 4 men arrived to the playground, and my brother, Josh tried to get me to safety...but two of the men kept him in a tight hold. I remember how I tried to run, and how much I was screaming and crying for one of the men to let me go.

Josh was shouting my name and I barely noticed that he was furious and horrified as I tried so hard to kick or hit the man away from me. But I couldn't do anything..as the man..had raped me.

After that had happened...I saw Josh tackle the man away from m,e and he had ordered me to run and get the police. I could still remember his last words to me. "GO, ANGELA! Get out of here!", Josh shouted at me. "NO, I won't leave you!", I screamed with tears in my eyes.

"Just go, Angela! And always know that I love you with all my heart..little sister.", Josh said with a sad smile on his face. I then started to run and I could hear Josh's screams of pain...

I sighed again as I opened my eyes, looking at Dad in the present, and I shrugged lightly, "I never regretted giving birth to the twins through it was a hard one. Josh would have been so proud...right?".

Dad patted my shoulder with a small smile, "Angela, he saved you. There's no way he could refuse from being the best uncle for the kiddos. Heck, there are moments I almost could imagine him teaching Alex some basketball tricks, and have a dance night with Ashley. He would appreciate the fact that you did Alex's middle name in honor of him. Alex Joshua Walker...He would have laughed the moment when he heard my pick for Ashley's middle name; Ashley Hudson Walker for Josh's love of Hudson cars.".

I smiled sadly. "Mom!" I turned to see my children run up to me and hug me. "Hello, my little rascals...What did you do today with your grandpa?", I asked curiously.

Alex grinned brightly, "Grandpa made us grilled cheese after we got here from school!". Ashley giggled softly, "And he helped me with my math homework before he said yes to me and Alex playing video games.".

Alex nodded in agreement, "And Grandpa even tried one lap with my controller. (Shrugs) He got into third place which is good for the old man!". Dad raised an eyebrow, "Oh, old man? Wait until I beat you the next time!".

Alex and Ashley chuckled with grins adorning their faces. "Now you two show some respect to your grandfather.", I said in a stern tone. Alex and Ashley nod their heads in understanding.

"Thank you for looking after them, dad.", I said with a smile on my face. "No problem.", Dad said with a smile on his face.

"Mom...Is uncle Chris going to come over today?", Alex asked. I smiled softly, "Chris will be coming in for dinner, so I expect you two to help me with setting the table and cooking the sides while I do the main course, you hear?".

"Yes, Mom!", Alex and Ashley said at the same time. "Well, let's go.", I smiled. "Say goodbye to grandpa.", I said. "Bye, Grandpa!" Alex and Ashley said as they waved goodbye.

Dad waved back as we exited the house, "Bye, kiddos, and Angela, take care!". I waved back. Then we got inside the car, and I started to drive back to my house.

"Mom...is Grandma going to come over again?", Alex asked, a bit worried. My children never loved mother, and my mother didn't love them either. I shook my head lightly, "Nope, she isn't. She will go shopping or something...(Under my breath) Had enough fighting for one day.".

"That's a relief.", Ashley said. "Mom...is it true that Uncle Chris broke up with his boyfriend?", Alex asked.

I sighed softly, "Apparently, Mark, that idiot, he was drinking again, and Chris waited for him the whole night, and well, it was enough to break the camel's back.". "I feel bad for Uncle Chris." Ashley said with a frown.

"Both you and him can't find anyone to love you back.", Alex said with a sigh of agreement. That's one thing that Chris and I had in common. Chris has been my best friend since I was 16 years old.

Why, he often babysat the twins when I had working days which is why the kids call him Uncle. Oh, Chris loves the twins as they grew up over the years, teaching Alex the few stuff I couldn't do, and often helping Ashley out with film class.

Chris is gay and only likes men. I still haven't been able to find myself a boyfriend, which is much more difficult to do when they find out that I am a single mom. Apparently, a single mom with twins scares the men away which is absolutely ridiculous. Chris often comforted me when I ranted about that sort of thing, and he knew about the attributes I want in a man. Loyal, strong, friendly, humble, and family-orientated.

The twins have long wanted a father figure in their life. "We're home.", I said with a fond smile. "Which movie are we going to watch, Mom?", Ashley asked.

I chuckled softly, "Why don't you go pick a movie with action, and flip a coin about it? Movies with love will make Chris upset, understand? It's still fresh in his mind.". Alex and Ashley nod their heads with wide smiles. We all got out of the car and walked towards the house.

We got in, dropping our stuff off in the mudroom, and I chuckled softly as I saw the twins head to the living room, opening up the sideboard of movies inside, and I hummed softly as I made my way to the kitchen, thinking of what to make for dinner. I glanced into the pantry, and smiled brightly as I saw the box of garlic bread, and pulled it out, heading to the refrigerator to grab a frozen box of family size lasagna to cook inside the oven.

The doorbell then rang, and I went over to open the door. On the mat, holding up a super bottle of root beer soda, is Chris Jenkins, grinning at me with those mischievous blue eyes, his shaggy strawberry blonde hair tied back in a low ponytail. Chris laughed, "How's it hanging around, girlfriend?".

"It's going great!", I laughed as I hugged Chris. "Where are the kids?", Chris asked with a grin.

I smiled widely, "They're picking out a movie for tonight.". "Which movie are we watching?", Chris asked with a hum.

Alex suddenly came out of nowhere, joining me, "A Bug's Life!". Chris blinked softly before chuckling, "Shoulda known. You sure like Pixar when they work together with Disney. A Bug's Life sounds good to me. But first, what's cooking?".

I smiled warmly, "Lasagna with garlic bread. I am still waiting for the twins to do the sides.", glancing at Alex with a raised eyebrow. Alex nodded, "Yes, mom!", running off from my side, calling out to his sister, "Ash, we gotta choose a side to cook or make! I will do the corn!", faintly hearing my daughter's response, "Fine! I will make Dilled Egg Salad since we still have some hard-boiled eggs leftover from yesterday!".

"Those two kids are growing up fast.", Chris said with a grin. "They sure are." I said with a smile on my face.

A while later after a satisfying dinner, the four of us headed to the living room, and Ashley grabbed the remote with a grin, "Ready, family?". "Ready!", Everyone said with smiles on their faces.

Ashley clicked play, and the movie started. I smiled lightly as I watched the expressions of Atta and Dot. They sure are good for each other as sisters, almost like my twins on a level. Then came the scene with my favorite character..Hopper.

"Why is Hopper your favorite character, mom?", Alex asked curiously. I grinned softly, "Let's say I have a feeling that he is misguided in the heart. He's thinking that being the one in charge is better than being bullied, or should I say, being eaten, you know?".

Ashley nodded, "I guess that makes sense, and he deeply cares for Molt in his funny, angry way as well.". "I always wished that Hopper would have seen the error of his ways...instead of being eaten by that bird at the end of the movie., I said with a frown on my face.

Alex whistled lowly, "Even I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy in school. Being eaten by a bird is nasty.". Chris nodded, "Yeah, and you know, Francis isn't bad-looking either...He's so good with Dot and the other girls.", and I grinned softly. Francis is his favorite character, and he likes to think that Francis is gay.

We all continued watching the movie. We laughed at the funny parts, cheered at the good parts, scoffed or winced at the painful parts.
