"Flik, we are not about to fight grasshoppers, ok?", Rosie said with a frown. "You'll be gone before the grasshoppers ever arrive.", Flik explained with a smug smile.
Ashley whimpered softly, "But Flik bought you guys here. We want Momma back.", giving the big eyes, "Pretty please, with a seed on top?". I tsked softly, "Now you've done it. You upset Ashley.", secretly proud that she's pulling out the famous trick.
The Circus bugs found it very hard to resist... "Okay...we'll do it!", Francis said with a resigned groan, giving in. I smiled wryly. "So what's the plan?", Manny asked curiously, and Flik went to work, explaining his idea and the plan from it.
I patiently listened to Flik's plan while wondering about Angela once more. I hope she is keeping the boys away while staying out of trouble...especially Hopper...Maybe she is actually changing his ways like she promised to do...
Like in the movie..The ants and circus bugs were helping in building the bird. I grew close to Francis, and I couldn't tell if he was starting to have a crush on me. Alex and Ashley loved the Circus bugs as they saw them as family.
Francis acted as another uncle, which is really nice. Rosie is a aunt while Gypsy and Manny is like a set of grandparents. Dim is seen as a little 'big' brother because one time, the twins told me that Dim reminded them of a 5 year old Tarzan with the tendency to speak in third person. And for the pill bug brothers, they act as cousins. Heimlich is like the hungry family friend while Slim is like the neat godfather.
I smiled as I saw the twins play with Dot and the Blueberries. "Those two are little angels.", Gyspy said. "I know.", I said with a grin. "It's so hard to believe that their grandmother doesn't love them from being born from a...you know what.", Francis said with a raised eyebrow at me.
I nodded silently, and I chuckled lightly, "Even if they know that their grandmother hates them, it doesn't keep them down. They love their mother no matter what.".
"Also, trust me, they don't like their grandmother either...one time when she and Angela were fighting...The twins pranked her.", I chuckled wryly. "What did they do?", Slim asked curiously.
I smirked lightly, "You ever seen a whoopee cushion?". The Circus bugs nod their heads as I tell them the story.
(Angela's P.O.V.)
How long has it been since I have seen my children? Or Chris? It sure has felt long...I saw a full moon pass recently, so I must have been here for a month at least. I wonder how they are doing? I wonder if the Circus bugs have already arrived to Ant island? Also, having been here has indeed caused some changes to Hopper...
Like the day after I told the story of my twins and my brother, I didn't have any close calls with any of the grasshoppers, and when I took careful time to notice, they were frightened of Hopper when he was around. When I was upstairs, I was able to ask Hopper privately, and oh, I was so surprised when he told me that he said that he made a rule of no threatening myself or taking advantage of myself, shouting at the boys the morning before I woke up for breakfast.
I was so happy and relieved that I actually hugged Hopper, thanking him gratefully, and I think I swore I saw a blush momentarily on his face when he said that it was no problem, excusing himself politely.
I sighed as I stared at the stars.
Then I started to sing...singing always helps me feel better.
I still don't know what I was looking for
And my time was running wild
A million dead-end streets
Every time I thought I'd got it made
It seemed the taste was not so sweet
So I turned myself to face me.
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the stranger)
Ch-ch-Changes
Don't want to be a richer one
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the stranger)
Ch-ch-Changes
Just gonna have to be a different one
Time may change me
But I can't trace time
I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
So the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you look down on
As they try to change their worlds
Their immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're going through
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the stranger)
Ch-ch-Changes
Don't tell them to grow up and out of it
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the stranger)
Ch-ch-Changes
Where's your shame
You've left us up to our necks in it
Time may change me
But you can't trace time
Strange fascination, fascinating me
Changes are taking the pace I'm going through
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the stranger)
Ch-ch-Changes
Oh, look out you rock 'n rollers
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the stranger)
Ch-ch-Changes
Pretty soon you're gonna get a little older
Time may change me
But I can't trace time
I said that time may change me
But I can't trace time
I then stopped singing, hearing a soft clap before it got louder, and I turned around to see Hopper standing in the open doorway. He smiled softly, "You sing really beautiful.", and I blushed softly, giggling quietly, "Thank you, Hopper. Isn't often I hear a compliment like that.".
Hopper gasped, "That can't be right! You should be complimented more. I mean...", and I smiled softly as he struggled to speak on. I blushed at his words. "So how are you feeling?", Hopper asked warmly.
"To be honest...I really miss my kids.", I said with a sigh and a frown. Hopper blinked softly in surprise, "Oh...You're worried about them, ain't ya?".
"Yes..every day I think about them...I know they have their uncle Chris with them...but I just can't help it...", I said with a weak sheepish smile. Hopper looked to be in deep thought... Hopper nodded quietly, "I see...Anyway, I came here to ask you if you're heading down for dinner...".
"I'll be down there in a minute...I just need a moment to myself.", I said with a smile. Hopper nods his head as he leaves my room. I then stared at the stars as i prayed to them...
I took a deep breath, and said reverently, "Please look after my children, and lend them protection when they need it. Give them good dreams until the day I return home to them, and have them in my arms again.". Then I walked away, and I started to head down for dinner with the other grasshoppers.

I was with Francis as we talked about our lives. Francis scoffed, "That idiot was stupid for drinking. I couldn't do such a thing to a handsome bug like ya! I mean, being best friends with a mother grasshopper, watching over those cute twins, being great pals with this colony...".
I blushed at Francis' words. "So...you haven't been able to...date anyone else?", Francis asked anxiously. I shook my head, "You couldn't believe how many girls come up to me when they see my wings and eyes, but when I tell their boyfriends who's with them that I'm gay, I get weird looks...", sighing heavily, "And besides, dating is hard when most of the guys are tall or having too many legs, you know? I prefer unique guys with spunk and a sense of humor.", smiling with a glance at Francis.
Francis blushed as he turned away. "Francis?", I asked softly. Francis flicked his antennae lightly before he looked at me, "Uhh, Chris? Do ya want to give it a try again? I mean, with me...You're handsome and you're really awesome with kids...".
Did I just heard what I think he said...Is Francis...the Francis...Is asking me to be his boyfriend?! I blushed red.
I then grabbed Francis hands, and I smiled at him brightly. He smiled softly, "So, is that a yes?", and I nodded, "Yes, I wanna date you, Francis!".
Francis and I then shared a hug. We then heard clapping behind us...and we turned to see Alex and Ashley clapping at us.
"About time, Uncle!", Alex said with joy in his voice. Ashley cheered happily, "I am so excited for you guys!", and I smiled softly, glad that the twins are approving of me and Francis.
"We should tell the others tomorrow!", Alex said with a laugh of joy. "Yeah, since tomorrow, we are going to finish building the bird!", Ashley said with a whoop. I chuckled as I and Francis held hands.
Francis smiled lightly, "That's fair, but tonight, I wanna eat some dinner with my new boyfriend.". "But first, let's get the kids to bed.", I said with a grin.
"Aww..but we are not tired yet!", Ashley pouted. "Sorry...but you two should be in bed by now.", I said with a raised eyebrow.
Alex nudged her lightly, "Come on, you know what Mom usually says.". Ashley nodded, "If you have a good night's sleep, you can seize the day however you want!", giggling, "Mom is always right.".
I smiled wryly, "So, go on to bed, you rascals.". Alex and Ashley nodded, "Yes, Uncle Chris!", leaving us to their tunnel bedroom.

I was in my room after having dinner, staring at the stars again..when Hopper walked into my room. "What is it, Hopper?", I asked softly. Hopper exhaled, about to say something, before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, and then opened them, looked at me, "I'm taking you home to your kids.".
My eyes went wide. "Y-you mean it!?", I asked with tears in my eyes. Hopper nods firmly, looking at me straight on.. I sobbed happily as I ran to hug Hopper.
Hopper nearly falls from the force of the hug, but stands steadily as he held me in his arms as I thanked him, "Oh, Hopper, thank you! You have no idea what this means to me!", and Hopper gave me a small smile, "Oh, I have a inkling of it. We leave tonight so we can be there in the afternoon.".
I nod my head excitedly. "Thank you so much!", I then kissed Hopper's cheek. Hopper blushed red as he placed his hand on his cheek. I smiled softly before I blinked, "Wait, you're saying 'we', as in the two of us, no gang?".
"Yes..I don't want to cause a scene..so it will only be the two of us.", Hopper said with a chuckle. I smiled, and then I helped Hopper up. "I can't wait to see my babies.", I said with a little skip in my step.
Hopper grins, "Come on, then. Let's not waste another moment. We can catch some sleep when our wings wind down in the middle of the night. I...I'm sorry I kept you here, Angela.". My eyes went wide...Did Hopper just apologize? I was quiet for a few moments. "Do you mean...it?", I asked softly.
Hopper nodded softly, "Your kids are innocent in all of this. I feel stupid now about making that deal with you, but that day, I was intrigued about you, and I was admittedly curious, wanting to know the reason why a grasshopper, let alone a lovely one like you, staying with those ants..Heck, you sassed me out!".
I giggled softly, and then I hugged Hopper. I felt Hopper wrap his arms around me. Oh, I can't wait to see my children again.
(Chris' P.O.V.)
We were all helping the ants prepare for the big celebration party. Francis and I had just told the others that we were now boyfriends.
