Worry appeared in Reverend Howell's eyes. They were wide the minute Volcana released fire from a palm and knocked Supergirl down.
He ran to Supergirl and was gentle as he held her. Glowering, he viewed Volcana turning and running. Amos helped Supergirl stand. He thought she tensed.
''I could have used heat vision or struck Volcana.''
''You'll defeat her.''
''I don't know about that,'' Supergirl muttered.
Reverend Howell and Supergirl eventually smiled with one another when they ate lunch instead of shopping.
