A/N: So the stairwell scene we got was $% # as far as I'm concerned! Way tooooo short. So here's one of my own. We are leaving the land of PG for this chapter :) Enjoy!
Before Charles got into bed he noticed a small piece of paper tucked under this pillow. He pulled it out and smiled. He'd given Liza several gift vouchers a few weeks ago and when she wanted to redeem one, she had to place it under his pillow and he'd arrange it's redemption in the next few days. He wouldn't tell her when it would happen and she was looking forward to it being a surprise. He placed the paper in his nightstand drawer and as he slept he dreamt of ways he could satisfy her request.
Two days later…
Charles informed his staff at their morning meeting that it was time once again for their annual evacuation drill. He could hear groans and knew this was their least favorite activity. Due to the nature of the world they were living in they had to practice once a year taking the stairs down to the lobby.
"This year I have made Diana our fire warden. She will be in charge of the drill today. Also Liza will act as our sweeper. She will make sure the floor is clear as Diana leads us down." He had to bite this cheek to keep from laughing. He could see the desperate looks on the faces of the staff. Diana took her job VERY seriously. In her words, no one would be left behind. He had told her the day before of her title and she told him she'd draft an entire evacuation plan.
"Thank you Charles, now when the drill begins I expect everyone to form an orderly single file line into the staircase. I of course will be in the front of the line leading the way. I will however be stopping every five flights to do a headcount."
Daggers were being thrown Charles' way but in order to accomplish his plan Diana had to be the fire warden. Anyone else would have the staff down the 40 something flights of stairs in record timing. After the meeting the staff begrudgingly filed out of the conference room lamenting over the horrible fate that awaited them after lunch.
Liza was grabbing coffee when Charles walked over to get himself a cup. She smiled when he walked over.
"Pretty sure you just became enemy number one around here," she said as she stirred her coffee.
"Couldn't be helped, I'm afraid. Besides, they'll get over it. By tomorrow they will have forgotten all about it, no?"
"Uh I'm not so sure. Do you remember what happened when she led the shelter in place drill 6 months ago?"
Charles cringed at the memory. How could he have forgotten? What should have been a 5 minute drill to satisfy their insurance company had turned into an hours long ordeal. In the end the only person he cared about upsetting with this drill was Liza and he knew that wouldn't be an issue.
As 1pm approached, a general silence fell over the usually noisy office. Everyone wincing at the thought of today's drill. At exactly 1pm Diana set off a rather shrill alarm on her phone yelling for everyone to start lining up. 10 minutes later she opened the stairwell doors and everyone began their descent. That's when Liza began her job of sweeper checking every office, bathroom, etc to make sure no staff remained. She saw the door to Charles' office was closed and thought he surely must have begun his descent but she checked anyway and to her surprise he hadn't, he was still sitting at his desk.
"Didn't you hear our fire warden's obnoxious alarm alerting us to begin our evacuation?"
"Huh?" he asked, pretending to be confused.
"The drill started. The staff is already on their way down."
"Oh, my apologies, I must have gotten distracted. Let's go."
Charles opened the stairwell door letting Liza pass through first. As soon as the door closed behind him, he reached out and grabbed Liza's hand, spinning her around to face him.
"Charles what are you.." before she could finish her sentence he had crushed his mouth to hers backing her up against the stairwell wall.
"They have a drill, you have this," he reached into his pocket pulling out the voucher he'd given her for a stairwell rendezvous. Her eyes got wide and her face was suddenly flushed.
"But they'll be back up soon," she stuttered. She'd been looking forward to this but now she was suddenly nervous.
"Why do you think I made Diana fire warden? With her stopping every five flights to take a headcount it will be at least 40 minutes before anyone makes it back up here. Plus with you as the sweeper she won't expect you to be in the headcount and as your minutes behind everyone else. As for me I'm the boss if I don't answer she won't question it," he said with a smirk.
Liza smiled, her earlier nervousness dissipating.
"Well in that case," she said, kissing him again.
He continued his assault on her mouth as he undid the buttons of her blouse. She was wearing a silk blouse and a matching pleated silk skirt. He moved his kisses from her mouth to the side of her neck and Liza was rapidly losing the ability to stand. His kisses were leaving fires in their wake that were contrasting with the cold cinder blocks against her back. The dueling sensations were driving her mad.
Somehow she was coherent enough to be able to remove his jacket and pull his shirt from his pants running her hands up and down his back. When Charles moved his mouth to the hollow at the base of her throat and began his downward descent, all rational thought left her body. She couldn't even tell you her name if her life depended on it. The only thing keeping her upright was Charles' hands on her hips pinning her to the wall.
Charles' lips and tongue were blazing a trail down the middle of her body. He stopped when he reached the waistband of her skirt. She looked down and he smiled up at her with a devilish grin on his face.
Good Lord she thought. Was there ever a sexier sight to behold?
He stood up and a gentle sigh of disappointment escaped her lips. This however was short lived as reached behind her to unzip her skirt letting it pool at her feet.
"Now how would Diana feel if she knew you skipped her little drill? I think she'd feel some disciplinary action would be in order."
With the smouldering look he was giving her she could only swallow hard. In deep recess of her brain she realized he was overdressed and she reached to undo his belt and her hand snaked into the waistband of his pants. She could swear his eyes turned black and he gasped loudly as he fused his mouth to hers again. He made quick work of the last barriers between them as he took her hard and fast watching her the entire time. She went to close her eyes but he ordered to keep them open. He wanted to watch her come undone and wanted her to see him do the same.
"Liza, look at me. Look at what you do to me."
Without a doubt this was one of the most erotic experinces of Liza's life. She could swear his eyes were boring holes into her soul.
She was close and Charles could sense it. He told her to let go.
"Let go, I've got you."
His words sent her over the edge and he quickly followed. They took a few minutes to get their breaths and heart rates under control before redressing.
"Charles that was…" Liza still couldn't form a coherent sentence.
Charles laughed, understanding her predicament.
"Ah with you my darling it always is."
She smiled and he kissed her one more time before exiting the stairwell.
Charles went back to his office and Liza went to the bathroom. Charles said she would text her when he noticed people returning.
Liza looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. Wow! That was incredible! She got a text from Charles that the staff had just started to return. As she exited the bathroom, she sent Charles a quick text.
"Was that voucher a one time use kind of thing?"
She could swear she heard laughter emanating from his office.
She sat down at her desk as everyone returned to their respective office.
Charles walked by to congratulate Diana on a successful drill but not before whispering in Liza's ear.
"You only have to show me how bad you really want it." With that said he gave her a quick wink before walking over to Diana.
Liza was left speechless as visions of their earlier rendezvous flashed through her mind. Two minutes later Diana approached her desk.
"Liza, are you ok? Your face looks flushed. Surely that drill didn't knock the wind out of you? It was only 45 flights of stairs and we were going down."
"Uh yeah well I guess I'm not in as good of shape as I thought. Time to renew my gym membership I suppose."
Diana seemed satisfied with her answer and returned to her office.
Liza turned back to her computer wondering how she was going to get through the rest of the day.
Damn that man! She smiled as she caught up on some emails.
