Level 9?
It was unsettling to see all of those cars on parking level 9, but we made it up the ramp and to level 10, there's no roofing above it so you can see the night sky from that floor. I really, really hope we can park somewhere and head down to the anime convention. But after that, I'm not sure if I'm in the mood to be having fun for the remainder of the night…
But once again, to my utter surprise, there was something wrong with the 10th floor as well! At first glance it looked exactly as floor 9 did with the same black cars! I was frozen with fear.
Ana: What is WRONG with these 2 floors!? Why is it all the same?!
Cody: Wait, look! There's tire skids all over the floor!
"Not only that, look at the walls. There's some black stains dripping from the ceiling!" My heart was pounding.
Ana: Are those scratches on the walls too?!
Parking was full all the way down, but I was shocked at how long it took me to realize the most important thing. There was still a roof above us, and the sign on the wall said "LEVEL 9".
"Uh, hey guys? I drove UP the ramp, right? Why are we still on the 9th floor?..." I asked.
Cody: Yeah we drove up the ramp but what the HELL is going on here!? We're not on drugs right now are we?!
Ana: This is insane! We should've been on the rooftop, this should've been the 10th floor!
My hands were starting to shake on the steering wheel, I couldn't even think straight anymore, this wasn't normal. I wanna believe that I just went in a circle on the 9th floor, but I didn't, I drove all the way to the end where the lights were dead or flickering off and on.
Cody: Oh man, what should we do? Keep going? Or turn back?
"I guess I'll keep going… We gotta be on the 10th floor if I go up this ramp…" I pushed the pedal into drive, cautiously approaching the upward ramp. Cody and Ana said nothing.
Without warning, we heard a loud noise from behind us, we all turned around.
I have never seen something so inhuman in my life. The thing that made the noise was some "creature"? It looked like a human with hair all over its body, but it wasn't a costume at all. It busted open a car door and was crawling out, saliva dripping from it's fanged mouth and it was so skinny we could see it's ribcage. That thing growled as it turned its head and looked at us, starting to run on all fours towards our vehicle.
"OH SHIT!" I screamed and hit the gas to drive up the ramp. But there was another one of those creatures running down prompting me to slam the brakes. It bashed itself into my car, cracking the glass window, partially but not entirely. And I could even see the 10th floor and the sky above it, we were so close! We were all screaming for our lives as I reversed the car.
Cody: WHAT ARE THESE THINGS? I SAID I LIKED CAT GIRLS BUT NOT LIKE THIS!
Ana: CAN WE JUST LEAVE INSTEAD? I WANNA GO HOME!
"OKAY I'M GONNA TRY TO FIND A WAY OUT OF HERE HANG ON TIGHT!" I saw that were were at least 5 of these humanoid cat monsters, some wearing ripped and bloodstained maid outfits or dresses. Others just naked, with patches of their fur ripped off by what appears to be the claws of their own kind. What are these things?!
I swallowed my fear and slammed the gas, in a reckless attempt to run them over. I ran one over, hearing the crackling of it's bones and seeing it's blood splatter from under the car, and hit another that flung onto one of the black cars, it's neck snapped upon impact. But the rest were so fast they ran or jumped out of the way, their crawling movement was similar to that of a spider. I saw one crawl underneath a car, I don't know where the other two went.
Cody: Damn! I didn't know you were such a BADASS!
Ana: Hang on, didn't one of them jump on the ceiling?... *Ana looked out the window from inside trying to find it*
It wasn't long before the one that jumped onto the ceiling had jumped back down onto our car, this time completely shattering the front glass window! The cat thing was hanging down from the hood on the car and those claws will do more damage than the glass shards that fell on us. I unlocked the car doors and unbuckled my seatbelt as Cody and Ana were just panicking.
"C'mon! Run for the elevator! It's our only chance!" I got out of the car first, then Ana, then Cody. We ran for our lives as the adrenaline rushed through our veins.
Since I had a head start at running, I was the nearest to the elevator. I heard Cody shrieking as one of those cat things roared and pounced. I didn't wanna look back and risk it catching me as well, I felt bad doing this but I had no other choice! If anyone survived this night, they'd have to tell the story in order to prevent anyone from parking on Level 9!
Ana screamed behind me but I kept running, I can only hope the creatures just dragged them away after catching them because I didn't hear Cody screaming anymore. It was too late to look back now. I was finally at the elevator and had pushed the button but the elevator had to come up to the 9th floor for me to get in! The number of the floor was displayed digitally on the small screen at the top of the elevator, it was on the 1st floor coming up. This was gonna take forever!
"Hurry up, dammit!" I slammed my fists on the wall in frustration, and the 3 remaining cat people were closing in on me. Not running but just crawling towards me like lions about to pounce on their prey…
I heard the elevator dinging each time the cart went up a floor, it was rather fast luckily, but I'm not sure if it'll make it in time… One of those monsters leapt forward at me, I summoned all my reflexes to dodge it by moving to the side! The next one pounced towards me and it's claws scraped my arm but I ducked underneath it barely in time. Then I grabbed the metal trash bin next to the elevator and held it as a shield in front of me, saving myself from the third of those creatures.
The elevator finally opened and I got in while the 2nd and 3rd ones were still stunned, the 1st one got up and ran towards the closing elevator door. I was lightheaded from fear but hopped up on adrenaline and somehow managed to kick it's head, pushing it onto the others and the elevator door closed shut! I was finally safe from those things. I hit the button to take me to the first floor, and backed myself into the elevator corner and slumped down onto the floor. From above I heard the noises from those creatures trying to get in as the elevator descended. I'm so sorry Cody and Ana, you're my two most favorite friends and you're both probably dead right now. It's all my fault for trying to cut corners by parking here instead of just waiting for a stall at the anime convention…
While still dressed in my cosplay, now scratched and bloodied a little, I touched my arm that the creature had scratched, it hurt, but at least this is a hospital…
I was relieved when the elevator speaker announced "LEVEL 1" and the door opened to the bottom of the parking structure. My heart sank to realize that there was another cat person right outside the sliding doors and it immediately jumped on me causing my head to hit the metal elevator walls, knocking me out. The world faded to empty blackness…
