"So, we're exploring this island today?" Venti said unsurely while looking at the land in front of him.
Seirai Island really gave off an unfriendly vibe with all of those thunders coming down from the dark sky. Not to mention the fact that there were multiple strange phenomena, such as floating rocks and electric water.
"Yes… Because the traveler needs amakumo fruit and… Primogems."
"They're still going after that thing huh?" Yanfei shook her head in distress. She pitied the traveler for being so obsessed with it.
"Let's just do our job, shall we?" As Zhongli lead the way, his other team members were trailing him from behind.
They began to do a lot of stuff. They were activating teleport waypoints, opening some chests, and collecting Inazuma specialties. But, of course, not everything played out smoothly. They encountered some monsters, and a new one on top of that. They were called Spectres.
They thought it would've been easy to defeat them. Turns out, it proved to be the opposite. No matter how many attacks they had released, the Spectres would just heal themselves again and again. Tired from that repetitive event, they decided to just ignore them for the rest of the day.
"This is bad… we need more amakumo fruit," Qiqi said after checking over how much they had collected, which is very little.
"Hmm, according to the map, we can find more of them in the center part of the island."
"Then what are we waiting for!" Venti exclaimed and dashed away with no hesitation. He slowed down when he felt like he just went through some kind of an electric veil.
The Anemo Archon was confused and needed some time to think. Unfortunately, the circumstance prevented him from doing so.
Lightning struck down regularly, surprising Venti each time. Which leads to him running around aimlessly for his dear life. He panic even more when he realized his HP was slowly draining out. He concluded that he must've been in a Balethunder area. Suddenly, a force pulled him back to the 'safe zone'.
"I owe you do this time, Morax."
"You always do." Venti was about to express how offended he was until Qiqi decided to speak.
"Maybe, we should try again. I'll heal this time." Yanfei shrugged, showing her willingness. The two gods didn't have any objection as well.
"Alright, come close to me." The others did as Zhongli said and after that, he activated his shield. They walked hesitantly into the veil. They even went in and out a few times out of fear.
"We can't keep doing this," Zhongli said tiredly when his shield disappeared for the umpteenth time, due to not be used at all.
An hour had passed and they were still staying at the same spot they were before. It was all mostly because of Venti. I mean, how could someone blame him? The poor boy was traumatized.
"Fine, fine! We'll go in right now." Venti gave up. He knew he couldn't run forever, so he took a deep breath and started leading the team into the Balethunder area.
It wouldn't be that bad, right?
"I'm alive! Again!" Yanfei threw her hands to the sky out of joy.
They were at the Statue of the Seven in Seirai Island, resurrecting Yanfei and Qiqi. It also restored ahugeamount of Zhongli and Venti HP in the process, which they gladly accept. By looking at this, it was very clear to say that their journey was an utter failure.
"Those annoying mechanical ruin arrays! I swear I'll have my revenge one day!" Yanfei yelled out, blowing off some steam. She was pretty angry to be the first one who died.
"Qiqi too!" The small girl chimed in while lying on the ground.
"Aghhh, let's just go home." Venti started to walk away but then got pulled back by Yanfei.
"Can we at least try one more time?" She begged. Venti closed his eyes with his hands and squeezed his cheeks a little in the process. He was very tired but there seemed to be no opportunity for him to rest.
He finally gave her a nod that made Yanfei smiled brightly. Zhongli could only chuckle when looking at their silly behavior.
"So, again?"
"Yeah."
And so they tried again.
Again.
Andagain.
Sadly, they didn't succeed at all.
"You little piece of- agh! Why did you create this island!" Venti shouted angrily and aimed his bow at the statue. He even shot some of his arrows at it.
"Maybe I should drop some meteors to this place," Zhongli whispered to himself while sitting on the ground, cross-legged. He was pondering quietly with both of his hands in front of his face, fingertips touching each other. That didn't hide his creepy smile enough though.
"Chill guys, there is a child here, geez." Yanfei stared at them worriedly with her hands covering Qiqi's ears. She was baffled by how mad they were being.
"How are you still so fuck- oh sorry Qiqi, calm?!" Venti asked in disbelief, which made Yanfei let out an awkward laugh.
"Um because I'm too tired to be angry?" He groaned, unsatisfied with her answer. Yanfei immediately added, "Besides, we can just stop you know? We can do the world quest first instead of keep mindlessly charging into that place."
"Where is the fun in that?"
The pink-haired girl shot a glare at him, wondering if he had lost his sanity. Well, that wouldn't be too surprising, considering how many times the lightning struck him.
Zhongli smacked his friend's head before Yanfei could do anything. It's good to know someone shared her point of view.
"Hey! I was just kidding!"
"Sorry, I could not find any difference."
Right at this moment,Venti had lost it.
He threw punches absent-mindedly to Zhongli, which he dodged smoothly. He even had the chance to tease him in the middle of it all, like making him trip for example. It did make him look childish but he was satisfied nevertheless.
The fight got even worse afterward. Yanfei didn't know what to do. If she had intervened, she would've gotten hurt in the process. That would only complicate the matter.
"You guys… are acting stupid," Qiqi said out of nowhere with her arms crossed across her chest. Embarrassed, the gods stopped fighting.
"Sorry, Qiqi." That was all they managed to say. They were bowing their heads and stood rigidly. But that didn't stay long, because Qiqi accepted their apologies and then held their hands.
"Let's go home." They walked away together, hand in hand. It was like nothing ever happened in the first place.
Yanfei smiled at that scene. Her team sure tended to be a bittoochaotic at times, but that didn't change the fact that she loved them dearly.
