The Weasley family struggled with the results of Ginny's first year.

How exactly is a family supposed to accept the fact that their youngest was possessed by the memory of the most evil wizard of all time?

Molly tried to ignore her feelings, hiding them in her cooking and her cleaning. The Burrow had never been so spotless, nor the Weasley's so well fed.

Arthur spent more time in his shed, tinkering with his muggle toys and playing with his collection of electrical plugs.

Percy delved into his studies, already doing practice exams for his N.E.W.T.S.

Fred and George concocted potions for their joke shop, they spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to turn people into canaries.

They all of course spent more time around Ginny, never truly leaving her alone. Suffocating her with their constant attention, their over protective need to make sure she is well, she isn't upset and that she hasn't been possessed by another dark wizard again. Surprisingly Ginny's respite from the smothering presence of her family came from Ron.

Ron had always been there for Ginny when she was growing up, and even at school for the last year he was always there for her. He would drop everything to play with her, babysit her, help her with her homework, tell her outlandish stories about another girl with red hair who helped save the world. Ginny's first word was her brother's name. Yet Ron didn't suffocate her, he didn't treat her as fragile, he didn't constantly watch her as if she might break. He just treated her as normal.

Ginny spent a lot of time with Ron that summer, and several times even fell asleep in his room. It was nice, like back before they went to Hogwarts. Still she could do without his shouts as he wakes from weird dreams.

"Was that the Lotus Blade!' Ron screamed, bolting upright in his bed and waking Ginny up. He looked around the room for two seconds before a snore escaped his mouth and his head crashed onto the pillow, asleep once more.

Hermione just didn't get her friends sometimes. Which isn't that surprising, they're boys after all. Though Hermione was extra confused at the moment. She had most of the holidays to think it over and she was not entirely sure what she believed.

According to Ron and Harry it was Ron that saved the day. She could believe this, his sister was in danger and he could be quite heroic at times it's just the way they say he saved the day. According to both of her friends Ron had grabbed the ghost of Voldemort by the throat, decapitated him with a sword pulled from the Sorting Hat and then proceeded to punch the 60ft basilisk to death.

There was so many things wrong with this story. Voldemort was a ghost, how could Ron even touch him? How could a sword cut and kill a ghost? Why was the Sorting Hat there? Did the Sorting Hat always have a sword in it? How did Ron, scrawny Ron Weasley, punch a basilisk to death? A troll couldn't have done that!

Whenever Hermione asked the boys Ron would always just look confused and then give a sheepish shrug, as if embarrassed that he doesn't know the answer. Harry on the other hand would stare off into the distance, mutter something about monkeys and then change the topic.

If it was anyone else Hermione would insist that they were lying, or that they were crazy but it was Harry and Ron. They weren't the type to lie about something like this. However what they were saying was impossible.

It was not an overly fun summer for Hermione. What made it worse was that the boys were unaffected by the questions that were screaming in her head. Harry was his same old, quiet self and dealing with the fact that apparently Sirius Black wanted him dead. Ron was screaming his head off, as a cat clawed at said head, and in his running around had lost his pants, tripped over 3 different people and managed to start a new sport that used brooms as skates.

Yes her two best friends were completely normal.

Ron always found the Hogwarts Express to be a somewhat depressing experience. It reminded him too much of traveling with Kim, stuck in a small area for extended lengths of time, off on their next adventure. Ron had never really enjoyed that part of being Kim's sidekick, it was just a necessity of the job but it wasn't bad either. Speaking of Kim, he could never truly get her out of his mind thanks to his new family, the Weasleys, their famous red hair was just so similar to her own.

Ron missed Kim so much, her, Rufus, Felix, Monique, Wade, Drakken, Shego, Hana, even Barkin at times. He missed them all so much, this new life, this new world just felt empty at times. What he wouldn't give to hear a 'What's the sitch Wade' or a 'You think you're all that but you're not' or a 'Stoppable Detention!' he would kill for a Naco too, not even an exaggeration he would kill for one. Though that wasn't going to happen Shego had destroyed all Bueno Naco's when she took over the world.

...

...

...

Wait when had Shego taken over the world? Bueno Naco was never destroyed, sure there was that moment when Drakken did his whole Diablo plot, but they still bounced back from that.

Had the train stopped? Surely they couldn't be there already and why was it so dark and cold? The cabin was actually starting to remind Ron of his cabin at Camp Wannaweep. Gil and monkeys and bugs and Gil and everyone being mutated, he missed the cheer squad, it was fu.. Barkin and Bonnie blamed him for that for the rest of the year, never letting it go, always blaming him every time they experienced so much as a rash, it was a mutation and all his fault. It was a shame what happened to the, to everyone. Ron tried his best, he really did Warlorda and Warmonga were too strong, they broke Kim, killed Shego, Drakken was squashed, all of Middleton burning down around him, screams filling his ears he tried to save them, he tried but without Kim without Wade, without anyone he was useless. The Mystical Monkey Powers hadn't come to him in his time of need. He had failed Master Sensei, watched as Yori gave her life for him, as Hana, Mom and Dad died, as everything and everyone he lost was gone, it would be best if he just allowed it to end to take the Lotus Blade and just, "RON!" a voice screamed, high pitched. Was that Kim, no no she was dead, her body over there, staring at him accusingly with her empty eyes. Shego then, no she was dead too, burnt from the inside out, must have been Drakken, the pitch was right but no Drakken didn't know his name, he could never remember it. What was Ron doing again? Oh right the Lotus Blade, he was going to - Ron felt something smack into him, knocking the Lotus Blade out of his hand and sending him to the floor.

Everything went dark.

Hermione was a lot more willing to believe her friends' story now.

Dementors had boarded the Hogwarts Express, looking for Black and everything had gone dark, and cold and so depressing. Hermione was certain that the troll from first year was going to come through the door, that her friends weren't going to save them in time but when the door opened it was worse.

The creature, the Demento, looked like the Grim Reaper minus the scythe. It filled Hermione with so much fear, and out of all of her friends in the carriage she was the best off.

Neville was in the corner whimpering to himself, eyes unseeing as tears streamed down his face.

Ginny was pale, arms wrapped around her legs, rocking herself and muttering, 'Please Tom no. Please'

Harry was perhaps the luckiest as he had passed out on the floor.

Then there was Ron.

Ron was as unseeing as Neville, tears running down his face, 'Kim. Shego. Hana. Rufus. Felix. Monique. Wade. Drakken. Yori. Master Sensei. Mr Barkin. I'm sorry,' he whispered. The names meant nothing to Hermione, and she probably wouldn't have remembered any of it if a sword hadn't flown through the wall of the train, found it's self in Ron's hands and turned into a knife.

'Ron!' Hermione screamed, weakly trying to pull herself up. She couldn't do it though, she knew she couldn't do it. She couldn't get up and save her friend, Ron would die in front of her, they all would die and there was nothing she could do, it would be all her fault, she would be alone forever and her friends would be dea - a bright light shot out of the new professor's wand, crashing into the Dementor, pushing it out of the cabin, out of the hallway and out of the train.

The momentary respite from the dementor allowed Hermione just enough energy to tackle Ron, slapping the knife out of his hand before he could do the unthinkable.

It was over.

Her friends were safe.

As Professor Lupin told her to eat some chocolate Hermione couldn't help but wonder, what had happened to Ron for him to have such a reaction and who were those names he called out.

Welp that's Chapter 2

sorry it's so short and so dark.

Originally I planned 1 chapter per year with a few snippets.

Then I got an idea, exactly how would Stoppable react to Dementors. I originally wasn't entirely sure, his life as far as the TV show is rather okay, sure he does dangerous and scary stuff all the time but there are no real consequences to it. Even the worst things that happen to him are not permanent. So I figured he might be fine.

Then I remembered the first episode of season 4, where he keeps calling Kim, waking her up, to ask if any of his nightmares about their first kiss were real. And I figured if Dementors are truly, awe inspiringly depressing then it would make sense if they could use your imagination against you.

That's where Ron's scene came from.

While I admit I will eventually mess with Kim Possible canon, the series did not end in such a dramatic way. Ron would not be the character we loved if it was like that.

It was all in his imagination because of the dementors.

Also sorry it got so dark, I guess I like dark internal thinking. Has happened before.
