Dreams feel so distant

until you are living them.

Pain feels so unbearable

until you are glimpsing it

beyond yourself.

Or maybe that isn't so,

but he'd never found

that living life:

so human & so vulnerable

was a terrible choice.

Perhaps ostracization was the proper response

to 'rebellion' so simply put,

but even the wrath or the anger or the worry

couldn't draw his heart away from the people here.

And to think,

he'd gotten to meet four incredible people,

ones that the Dragons above

valued and honored so much

that they were willing to give gifts,

physical abilities and talents to.

And sometimes, Hiryuu's sure

that he didn't love humanity near enough,

or at least not as much as the other dragons,

because he couldn't leave a gift in his stead,

he longed too much to be among them,

and yet it is here that he feels truly blessed,

because it is here

that he came to meet Zeno, Shuten, Guen, and Abi,

and so many others,

and that is a gift that he'll never take for granted.
