Christian is a fighter!

...

.

The first thing that Ana felt was something very heavy on top of her. Out of fear and shock, she didn't open her eyes after a few seconds though. As her eyes fluttered open, she was able to see not what but WHO that something was on top of her!

Oh nooooo. It was Christian!

She struggled to get on her knees, and when she finally did, Ana felt a sharp pain go through her heart.

Christian... Christian was bleeding out!

As a loud sob escaped her lips, she grabbed her phone and frantically called for an ambulance.

They were on their way, they told her.

And right after she hung up on 911, she called Taylor with trembling fingers. Tears rolled down her cheeks, her hands shaking, as she watched Christian.

"God, please. Please don't take him from me! Please!" Ana begged, on her knees, her pretty green dress now covered with his blood...

As her fingers carefully trailed his cheek, Ana looked at the features of his face. No…

"Christian, Christian...you will not leave me, OK! You hear me? You will not leave me behind!" she sobbed, and carefully cupped his face." I can't live without… please, listen to me. You will not leave me… I … I need you… I care so much about you… I…"

But no matter what she said, he did not react. Ana's heart pounded inside her chest, while tears streamed down her face.

She searched and did feel that he had a pulse. However, it was so weak.

"Christian, don't leave me alone" she whispered, her sight blurry, 'cause of the tears." I … think I… I think I love you. Don't you dare leave me"

As those words left her lips, a gnawing pain shot through her heart and soul. Never in her life did she feel such a gut wrenching pain. How can she go on without him? Ana wasn't the kind of person who gave up so easily, but as the seconds past, she felt that Christian was literally slipping through her fingers. Why him?!

It probably didn't take very long, but to Ana it seemed like ages when the ambulance finally arrived.

"Here!" she exclaimed, while wiping away her tears, her mascara and eyeliner smudged.

"Ana?"

It was Taylor.

She was still on her knees, lovingly cupping Christian's face, so Taylor gently grabbed her by the shoulders and helped her on her feet." Ana... let the paramedics do their job"

However, she wanted to stay right by his side...

"Hey, Ana... look at me, please." Taylor said, but she couldn't tear her eyes away from Christian.

In response, Taylor stood in front of her and made eye contact." Ana, give the paramedics room to work... they're here to save his life"

She shook her head furiously and said." Will he be OK, Taylor? I cannot let go of him."

In response, Taylor hugged her, as her tears kept flowing non-stop." He will be OK, Ana... Christian is a fighter!" he told her, the words so convincing." He will make it. He definitely WILL be OK."

... Approximately two hours later...

.

.

Ana sat motionless in one of the chairs in the waiting room, while Christian was already in surgery.

She was an utter mess, her hair had fallen loose from its hair pin, her dark chestnut-colored locks jumping in all directions, her mascara was smudged and she was shivering all over.

All she could think of right now was Christian. It was not fair!

Christian couldn't leave this world yet. This world still needed him so much! His mom, his sister, Taylor, the company, all those defenseless people in the City who he helped regularly...

"And me" was what she whispered, her face pale." I need you too, Christian..."

As her eyes landed on her hands that were resting on her lap, it dawned on her that she had dried blood on them.

Oh my God!

Her dress, her beautiful dark green dress had Christian's blood on it too! All of a sudden, it became too much for her heart to take.

Ana couldn't take it anymore, and fled from the waiting room. While running away though, she bumped into Mia and Grace in the hall.

"Hey, Ana? Where are you going?" Mia asked, her eyes red from crying.

"I… I have to go." Ana replied, her eyes still teary.

"You OK, sweetie?" Grace asked, seeing the spooked look in her eyes." Won't you be waiting with us? Please?"

"I... I'm so sorry, Mrs. Grey. I've gotta go" Ana replied, and started walking away.

Mia noticed the panic in her eyes, and whispered." She needs time to process it"

"I think so too" her mom uttered, while wiping away her own tears.

.

.

.

Ana hurriedly stormed out the hospital, her heart aching tremendously.

She just couldn't stay. While sitting in the waiting room, Ana felt like an invisible force was trying to strangle her, and her only option was to run.

Run Ana, run! Run!

And just like that, she had hailed a cab, her whole body trembling, her heart thumping so hard against her chest, as if it wanted to jump out of it.

The second she stepped inside of her apartment, she closed her eyes and leaned against the door. As Ana sank onto the floor, she suddenly felt so fucking guilty.

That voice in her head blamed her.' It's your fault that Christian's dying! He was protecting you. He was purposely standing in front of you, shielding you from those bullets! It's your fault, Ana... if he DIES!'

As those words echoed in her head, she desperately tried to hold on. She tried, but it hurt too much! So as those words kept plaguing her, Ana let her tears flow once more.

Her tears were never ending. Her loud sobs echoed in her room, her whole body shaking violently. At one point, Ana heard a ringing sound. Was it her phone? Or was it her alarm clock? She wasn't sure and tried to get up from the floor. However, her legs weren't cooperating... at all.

So as she kept hearing that ringing sound, Ana decided to give into the sleep she needed so much. The exhaustion, guilt and fear for Christian's life became too much, so at one point she let slumber take over her whole being…

.

It had been more than three weeks, since Christian was injured. Three long weeks, Ana had been sitting next to his hospital bed. After her initial shock and the guilt, she didn't want to go to the hospital. But the need to be close to him was stronger than her guilt and fear. The first few nights, she didn't even want to go home to sleep or shower. She wanted, no needed to be there when he woke up. She wanted him to see her first, when he opened his eyes.

Taylor and Mia, and even Grace practically had to force Ana to go home so she could have some proper rest. She finally did go home for a few hours though, because Grace had promised her to stay with Christian till she got back. But even after a warm shower, and a few hours sleep in her own bed, she felt the emptiness in her heart.

Ana felt empty and lonely... and the only cure for it was for Christian to wake up. That's all she asked of him. He just had to do that one thing for her; then everything would be okay... Just that one thing, and her whole world could start turning again.

In the meantime, Taylor and Mia tried to distract her with fun things to do. However, Ana shook her head stubbornly and sat quietly near Christian's hospital bed. They attempted different things to help her get her mind off of Christian for just even a little while, but they failed miserably every single time, because Ana kept refusing them.

Her only focus was Christian's recovery... it was that simple.

Christian, Christian... the only man who was capable of completely consuming her mind, AND heart.

.

.

.

The next morning, it was quite early, Taylor drove Ana to the hospital. The doctors had given all of them hope, saying that Christian had a very good chance of healing completely; he just needed time.

Taylor was talking to her, but Ana wasn't listening to him at all, her mind occupied with Christian of course. ( The man who she cared with all her heart)

"Ana?" she heard him say at one point, taking her out of her thoughts.

"Wh-what?" she answered, her attention finally on Taylor." Sorry, what did you just say?"

"You know what you should do right?" he said, and raised an eyebrow.

She shook her head in response." Do what? What are you talking about?"

He smiled and said. "When he wakes up, you should tell him how you feel."

As those words reached her ears, Ana was dumbfounded by his forwardness, speechless for a few moments, and then shook her head. "I don't know what you are talking about, Taylor," she lied, while her cheeks turned a shade of pink.

"So you are going to sit there, and tell me that you don't have any feelings for the guy? Really?" Taylor remarked, and shook his head." You don't have any feelings whatsoever for our boss, Christian Grey?"

Ana's eyes fluttered shut for a few moments, and then let out a breathy sigh." I don't know how to call it, okay? Or what this thing even is." she pointed out, while her lips trembled a bit" And I really don't want to talk about it. Not with you anyway… but now that we're talking about it, he and I are just friends. OK? Our feelings are platonic. Well, his feelings for me are platonic. Nothing going on between us, Taylor"

There she goes again, babbling like usual... She really had to control her urge to babble.

Taylor huffed in response." Oh, come on. I noticed how you two acted, and looked at each other at the masquerade ball. If you call that platonic, than my name is Richard Marx" He countered, while giving Ana a 'look'.

It was then, when they've arrived at the hospital, the vehicle halting, so Ana took the opportunity to jump out of it, and mumbled a thank you to Taylor without even looking back at him.

CRAP! She was so busted!

It was then, when Ana wondered who else noticed that she had feelings for her boss. If Taylor noticed it, maybe Christian's mother did too?

Double crap!

As Taylor watched how Ana hastily walked into the hospital, he shook his head and said." I really don't know what to do with those two."

He then started the car and drove away. In his opinion, it was very obvious Christian and Ana were so into each other, but he had a feeling that it wasn't going to be easy for either one of them to confess anything...
