She is family
Chapter 4
...
.
And just as their lips were about to collide, both Christian and Ana's phone rang loudly...
"Let it ring." he whispered, while his long fingers glided teasingly over the curve of her hips, massaging the skin in the process.
She gave him a pleading look in response.
"Ana," he whispered in her ear, and nibbled softly on her ear lobe.
She couldn't think clearly, his touches and caresses distracting her brilliant mind, but miraculously she was able to form some words in her head.
"Christian," she moaned, as he gave her love bites on her neck. "As much as I want to throw our phones out the window right now… I cant believe I'm saying this… As much as I wanna destroy those damned phones, I think we should pick up. Cause it must be very important, if both our phones are ringing at the same time." She whispered, locking her eyes on his.
As those words tumbled from her lips, Ana instantly regretted saying them, wanting to clobber herself... Damn, voice of reason!
However, it was too late to take them back. Christian nodded in agreement, and reluctantly let go of her, his fingers lingering till she pulled away. He had trained himself for years to have control of steel, but this remarkable, incredible, brilliant woman was able to make him melt with just one glance. And even though Christian wanted to just grab her, and kiss her senseless, he did the opposite 'cause she was right.
It was that simple...
But before grabbing his phone, he smiled and kissed her on the tip of her nose. In response, Ana naturally turned crimson red, while grabbing her phone.
"Hello." he said into the phone.
"Hello." Ana said.

Christian and Ana were on their way to the Police Station, both extremely worried about the news that they were about to hear. Officer Matteo had called Ana, and at the same time, Mia was the one who had called Christian to tell them to meet them at the Precinct.
During the twenty minute drive, he had taken Ana's hand in his. However, Christian didn't realize what he was doing right then, 'cause he was in deep thought.
But at a certain point, Ana had to let him know that he was hurting her by squeezing her hand so tightly.
"Ouch." She whispered.
It was then, when Christian finally realized what he had been doing this whole time, and instantly loosened his grip on her hand." Sorry, Ana," He said, but kept gripping her hand.
Not a hair on his head thought of letting go of her.
"It's OK, Christian"
"We've arrived at our destination, sir" they heard the driver say,"
"Thank you, Erik" Ana said politely, and they both stepped out the limo.
As they entered the Police Station, Mia ran towards Christian. She was sobbing uncontrollably, while he gently held her in his arms. Ana really felt for the two siblings...
"Hey, Ana... How are you?" Officer Matteo asked, and gave her a small smile.
She shook her head in response." Not so good. And you know why."
"Let's talk." Matteo said.
In response, Ana nodded and sat next to her." What do we know?" She questioned, her eyes full of concern.
"Well, Grace, Mia and Taylor were on their way to have lunch, when they were ambushed. They left Mia , but abducted Taylor and Mrs. Grey." Matteo explained.
Christian had walked over to them at this point, and asked." Officer Matteo, have they made contact yet? Do they have a ransom demand?"
She was just about to answer, when someone cleared their throat." Mr. Grey, I am detective Sawyer, and I'll be handling this case." he announced, his head held up high." Everything will have to go through me from now on"
Christian looked at the man, and nodded. "Okay, can we talk somewhere private, sir?"
"Of course Mr. Grey, this way." Detective Sawyer replied.
Christian followed the man, grabbing Ana's hand, as he went. She got up, and followed the two men.
Meanwhile, Officer Matteo was talking to Mia, attempting to calm her, but she was inconsolable.
When they reached the office, detective Sawyer furrowed his brows." I'm only going to talk to you, Mr. Grey." he said, and glanced at Ana, then looked right back at Christian." This case is very sensitive, and we don't know who is involved OR who to trust. I'll only speak to you... she has to go."
Detective Sawyer was dead serious.
"We can trust her." Christian simply said.
"Uhumm, you know I can wait outside the office, in the hall. It's OK, Christian," Ana told him, because detective Sawyer wasn't backing down.
She even attempted to unlock her fingers from Christian's, but he refused to let her go.
"No, its really OK, detective. I trust Ana with my life." he insisted, meaning every word.
In the past year, he, Taylor and Ana had been doing side jobs to clean up their City, helping the Police catch criminals. And with her help, he had escaped dangerous and life-threatening situations, more than a dozen times. So, yes... Christian trusted Ana with his life!
"She has to go" Sawyer repeated, his voice stern.
"I insist that she must stay"
At this point, it looked like detective Sawyer was losing his patience with Christian." No. Only family, Mr. Grey."
However, Christian wasn't backing down either. The next thing he said, made Ana's eyes water." She IS family, detective... MY family."
Well, what could Sawyer do with that information." Fine, she can hear what I have to say"
The moment Sawyer had closed the door, Christian looked at him." Is there a ransom demand, detective? What do they want? Who are they? Do you think they took her, because of what happened at the clinic?" he fired those questions at Sawyer.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Grey. But we have nothing. They left your sister and grabbed your mom and her bodyguard." Sawyer told them." Why? We don't know. They haven't contacted us or your sister. Have they tried to contact you?"
Christian shook his head in response." No, they haven't. I don't get it, why would they take her and Taylor?" he questioned, and gripped Ana's hand tightly." Taylor though? What could they possibly want from him?"
"At the moment we are looking into some suspects, people who would want revenge for what happened at the clinic." Detective Sawyer said in a careful manner.
"Do you have footage of the kidnapping, detective?" Christian asked, his brows furrowed." The crime was committed in broad daylight; do you know what the perpetrators look like?"
Sawyer shook his head in response. "No, we don't have any. They're professionals, that much I know, Mr. Grey" he informed them." Because from their seat in the hummer, one of them shot and destroyed the traffic cam in one hit... and believe me, that is not a simple shot to make."
Christian clenched his jaw, while clenching his hands into fists." I cannot believe this! How come you don't have ANYTHING?! You don't know shit!" he barked at Sawyer." And I suppose you're gonna tell me to wait and sit around for that call? What if they're already dead? Instead of sitting here, shouldn't you go investigate?!"
Christian was pissed as fuck, and got up.
"Mr. Grey, I'm not gonna sit here, and let you tell me how to do my job! Watch your words," Sawyer shouted, and also got up.
Ana wanted to prevent things from escalating, so she also got up. "Christian... he may be right. Let's uhmm, let's take a breather and wait. OK?"
He was about to protest, but she placed a hand on his arm to calm him." Let's go to... uhmm... let's go 'home'... wait there till we get more news from detective Sawyer, OK?"
Christian frowned in response, but then realized what she meant by 'home'. He nodded, glad that Ana had her own genius ways to find out certain things.
He sighed deeply and looked at Sawyer. "OK, detective. You're absolutely right." he said." I apologize; I will wait for the perpetrators to contact me. And I'll let you know, the second they do."
"Good... I'll walk you two out." detective Sawyer said.
.
.
.
Never before, did Christian drive so fast to their 'secret command center'.
He and Ana walked with huge strides into the 'basement'. As he punched the code, she waited impatiently. As the door opened with a whooshing sound, Ana practically ran towards her main computer.
Christian was right behind her.
"What are you gonna do?" he asked, his brows furrowed.
She was typing away at her computer, and shushed him, because she was concentrating, attempting to access the CCTV from where Grace and Taylor were abducted. After a few moments, she said." I'm gonna try to see, if the traffic cam is the only camera there. Maybe we can find footage of the kidnapping from another camera in the same area."
Christian stood next to her and nodded." God, you're brilliant!" He replied, and kissed her on the top of her head.
"Don't thank me yet, cause I haven't found anything." she pointed out, her beautiful, blue eyes fixed on the computer, while she typed really fast.
In response, he placed a hand on her shoulder." You will, you'll find it. You always do. I have complete faith in you, Ana."
As those words reached her ears, a slight blush crept up on her cheeks. She absolutely LOVED it, when he complimented her on her work.
After 10 long minutes, she finally found something." Yes!" Ana exclaimed, and smiled triumphantly.
"Can you get in?" he asked, while gripping the chair.
She nodded." Yes. I'm just gonna hack in their main computer to look at the footage from this morning."
"OK, let us see, if we can find out some things about these lowlifes." Christian growled.
As he watched the footage, his hands began to tremble heavily.
Ana noticed right away that something was wrong... did he recognize one of the abductors?!
"Christian, what's wrong? Christian?!" she questioned with a worried look on her face." Do you recognize one of them?"
He took a few steps back in response, while shaking his head. Ana got up from her chair, and carefully closed the gap between them. "Christian… you're scaring the HELL out of me. Who is it?!"
Instead of answering her, he placed his hands on his head, his face pale. In his eyes, Ana saw disbelief...
"I don't understand. Why?" he whispered.
At one point, he sank down to the floor, his eyes welling up. Ana sat in front of him, and grabbed his face with both hands. As their eyes locked, she gave him a questioning look." Christian, who is it? Who did you see on the footage?"
As his eyes fluttered shut, his hands still trembling, Ana decided to let it go for now. She knew that he wasn't gonna budge now. She had to give him some space... for NOW. So, instead of interrogating him some more, Ana pulled him in a loving embrace." Don't worry... we'll get your mom and Taylor back" she whispered, and held him tightly.
.
.
.
Approximately two hours later, Christian was in Mia's bedroom, insisting that she'd take some rest. Of course she protested, but he demanded it from her at some point. She was so scared, and asked him to leave the lights on.
"You are safe here, Mia. You're safe." he told her, very determined." And don't worry about mom. I will bring her back. I promise you."
As a sigh escaped his lips, he closed her bedroom door." I guess the team of three will have to work as a duo now" he whispered, referring to Taylor's absence. It was now just Ana and him...
As Christian walked into his bedroom, he was worried about Ana. Right now, she was at her apartment to get herself some clothes. Then, she would be joining him here at his home.
"She'll be fine," he told himself.
Ana was with one of the Police officers that detective Sawyer had sent to protect them.
And just as he was about to enter the bathroom, Christian noticed that something wasn't right. It was then, when he saw her!
He immediately took his stance." Why are you doing this?"
The young woman looked him dead in the eyes." Christian Grey… and the man who has been fighting crime for a whole year. Who would have thought that you two are one and the same?" She hissed, while giving him a venomous look.
In response, Christian leaped at her." I will hurt you, if you don't tell me right this instant WHY you are doing this!" he barked at her." Tell me! Where are my mom and Taylor?!"
They stood face to face, his eyes filled with anger. In her eyes though, he saw pure and utter hatred— like she despised him from the inside out.
The woman glared at him. "If you touch me, you will NEVER find out where your mommy is. So don't you dare!" She threatened.
"What the FUCK do you want?!" he hissed, while clenching his hands into fists.
"What I want? It's simple really..." She replied, the venom in her voice evident, eyes glaring." I want you to SUFFER. That's what I want Christian Grey... I want you to suffer for letting her die!"
He clenched his jaw in response, head shaking." That wasn't my fault."
"It was... you promised to save her, but you FAILED!"
Christian kept his composure and asked." How can I get my mom and Taylor back?"
The young woman laughed sadistically." My partner and I, we have planted three bombs in three different cities in the world." she said in an unemotional manner. She even smiled." One of them is in Seattle. HE, I mean my partner, wants you to disarm them. If you don't, well... let's say— a hundred or more people will die, Christian Grey"
"What?!" Christian said, eyes wide." You did WHAT?"
The young woman brought her lips to his ear in response. "You'll get your clues soon, Christian... Just wait for it. And don't be late" she whispered, making his skin crawl." If you let those bombs blow up, your mommy and Mr. Taylor will surely die. But then again, you fight crime every single day. And you can do anything, right? Even disarm a little bomb? That won't be too difficult for ya, I'm sure"
"You're insane…" he growled, while tears of anger pooled in his gray eyes.
"Good of you to notice. And by the way, those bombs won't be too difficult for you to handle... Especially with the help of a certain, dark brown-haired IT- girl." She said, and disappeared by jumping out of Christian's bedroom window, wearing a harness and using black ropes.
Christian stared speechless, and motionless after the young woman, hands shaking.
And then it dawned on him... it took him exactly 2 seconds to realize what she meant by those last words." Oh, God... Ana!"
