The Louvre Museum
Chapter 9

"That woman is such a tricky BITCH," he spat, feeling so defeated, almost wanting to give up right then.
Christian was looking for the bomb at the wrong location." Fuck!"
"Ana, where is Mcneal?"
"When I told him that the bomb is in the Louvre Museum, he immediately took action. He's planning to warn the employees and the others who are still inside. He also is going to make sure the evacuation happens." She replied, still sniffling.
Christian sighed deeply in response. "OK, I have to go to the Louvre Museum right away,"
"OK, I'll guide you."
"Ana, you're still with me?" he questioned, and all of a sudden felt the pain in his chest again. However, he ignored it for the SECOND time...
"Always. I'll always be here for you." She simply said." Don't you forget,"
"I won't," he replied, and swiftly got out of the Tower, his body purely running on adrenaline at the moment.

Christian successfully walked out of the Eiffel Tower, and luckily found a cab right away.
"Ana, which route must the cabbie take? Same one?" he asked over the speakers.
"No, tell him… tell him to take the Voie Georges Pompidou route." Ana advised.
After he had told the cabbie, he nodded and drove away.
"It'll take you guys 10 minutes to reach the Louvre Museum. It's a distance of 3.8 kilometers, uhhh… I mean 2.28 miles to be exact." Ana stated.
"Is the Louvre Museum closed?" Christian asked.
"Yes. On Fridays they close at 9:45 PM. " she responded.
"OK, I'm on my way. And one very important thing though, Ana..."
"Yes?" She asked.
"You have to get out of there now!" he told her.
The hotel where she currently was staying, was practically right next door to the Louvre Museum. And of course, Christian needed her far away from the bomb.
"But what if y…" She began, but he cut her off.
"Anastasia, I'm not planning on discussing this. Do you hear me?" he said." You will grab your bags, computers and get the hell out of there. Promise me?"
While those words reached her ears, Ana clenched her hands into fists... planning on refusing his requests/ orders.
But then Christian said." I need you to be safe. I can't do what I have to and ALSO worry about you, sweetie. Go look for a safe place to stay, far away from the Louvre Museum and when you're settled, make contact with me. Please? Do this for me?"
As a tear rolled down her cheek, Ana nodded. "OK, I'll get Mcneal and we'll look for a safe place, Christian."
"OK, thank you Ana..." he softly said." See you soon,"
"Please, be careful." she whispered.
"I will, always." Christian replied.

~ After a while ~
The second Christian stepped out of the cab, a chill went up and down his spine. He wasn't late, was he? He shook that thought off and decided to focus on the task at hand. He saw people being evacuated from the building, and knew that Mcneal had done his part to warn them. That leaves the big question: How will he get inside the Museum? He decided to take a chance and just tell the security guard that he was a visitor and had left something very important inside. Christian was just about to walk towards the guards, when he heard that oh so familiar voice.
"OK, have you found a way in yet?"
Christian furrowed his brows in response. "Ana? What are you doing? Where are you? Are you breaking the promise you just made to me?!"
Ana shook her head in response, even though she knew he couldn't see her." I can't believe you think that low of me. No, Christian... I'm not breaking any promises to you," she told him, a bit hurt by his accusation." The whole morning, while you and I were brainstorming about where the bomb was planted, Mcneal here thought it'd be a good idea to rent a Ferrari. So, at this very moment we're kilometers… uhum, I mean miles away from the Louvre Museum. We're here at a very small and cozy Bed and Breakfast. We've set up my laptops and the rest of my equipment in the room,"
As he heard her explanation, he felt a bit guilty towards Ana." I'm sorry, sweetie... for accusing you,"
She cleared her throat in response." It's fine, Christian" she said." Do you want to get inside the Louvre and beat Leila at her own, filthy game?"
He let out a deep breath in response." Yes, Ana... I am ready to beat that bitch," he replied with determination in his voice.
"OK, follow my lead. I will get you inside where The Mona Lisa is." She told him, and tapped away at her computer.
Ana hacked into the security system of the Louvre Museum without hesitating. She desperately wanted to beat Leila and help Christian to defuse the bomb. The moment he was inside, Christian immediately changed into his all-black outfit.
At this point he was so tense that every, little thing got on his nerves.
"You have to reach the Denon Wing, Christian. The painting is in there. It's on the first floor."
"OK, Ana," He said and groaned softly.
The chest pain that he had, since before they arrived in Paris, had gotten worse by the hour. However, Christian has been keeping it to himself the whole time. He didn't even go to see a doctor.
"Christian? Are you alright?" Ana questioned with a worried tone in her voice.
He wished that she hadn't noticed it, but Ana was always focused and on full alert during missions. So of course she noticed.
"Yeah, I'm fine, sweetie."
But she saw right through him of course. As it dawned on her that he was lying, she got very angry." Christian Grey, how dare you lie to ME?!"
"Ana, it's nothing... really. I just need a new bandage that's all," he continued with lying, and then changed the subject." OK, I'm about to enter the Denon Wing right now."
She huffed aloud, but decided to let him off the hook. For NOW...
"OK, wait one moment. I'll take care of the cameras right away. OK, go now, Christian."
As he stepped inside the wing, he was in awe of all the masterpieces. However, Christian was focused solely on Ana's instructions. As he stood in front of 'the Mona Lisa', his heart pounded against his rib cage, beating faster and faster with each passing moment.
"Do you see it?" she asked.
"Yes, I do and she is absolutely breathtaking! BEAUTIFUL," he replied, mouth slightly open, eyes fixed on the painting. (the Mona Lisa)
"OK, Mr. Grey... Look around. Do you see the bomb anywhere?" Mcneal asked then.
Christian searched frantically, but he couldn't find anything suspicious.
"I don't get it. Where is it? Where's the bomb?!" he asked, while clenching his jaw out of annoyance.
"Ana?" he said, feeling beyond tense.
"I didn't find anything either, Christian... I don't understand." She replied, both hands on her head." I just don't get it. Usually, my programs are very accurate"
"Damn it! Where is it?!" he shouted, and hit the museum wall with his fist.
It was then, when his phone rang.
"Now, now. Don't be so pissed off. Aren't you having fun, Chris?" he heard Leila say through the phone in such a mocking manner.
"Leila, I swear. When I see you next time, you'll regret all of this. You'll regret it. Mark my words." Christian threatened, his left hand clenched into fists.
"Oh, come on. It's just a fun, little game that you and I are playing. Don't act like such a sore loser, Chris." Leila mocked.
"Don't call me that,"
"What? Chris? We all used to call you that, when we were younger." Leila taunted him." You didn't have any problem with it, when my older sister called you Chris... or have you forgotten all about her?"
Christian only huffed in response, but didn't say anything back. He knew he had to keep a clear head, and not get distracted by Leila's provocations.
"Well, you only have to do as I say and you get your mommy back." She pointed out, and laughed wickedly.
"Stop... Playing... Games! Where is the bomb?" he barked at her, having the urge to throw his phone against the wall.
"Tell that brunette girlfriend of yours to turn off the lights, and then YOU should grab your UV light. Aim it above the 'Mona Lisa' and you'll find your 5th clue. Don't worry; it will be the last one." Leila instructed, and hung up the phone.
At this point Christian was beyond furious! He did as that crazy bitch instructed and asked Ana to turn off the lights.
And then, he grabbed his UV light and aimed it above the painting. ( the Mona Lisa) As his eyes landed on the words that were written above the painting, Christian literally went berserk!
This was the first time ever that Ana had heard him use excessive curse words like this, even wishing awful things to happen to Leila!
"That FUCKING BITCH! When I get my hands on her, she will REGRET crossing paths with me! That FUCKING BITCH WILL GET HERS! I'll make fucking sure of THAT!"
Ana swallowed hard, and tried calming him down. "Christian, Christian. What's the matter? What happened? What did she say?" she asked in a calm manner.
She was very worried, especially cause she didn't know what just occurred. Ana got up from her seat, but felt how shaky her knees were.
"Christian! Christian... you there? I need you to talk to me. Please?" She pleaded at one point.
After a few moments though, she finally heard him move around.
"Ana. You're right. Leila is one insane woman and when I see her the next time, it is not going to look pretty for her." he vowed, while gritting his teeth.
"What happened? Where's the bomb? Did you find it?"
"She gave me the last clue, Ana... It's not here. The bomb is NOT in the Louvre Museum,"
"Christian, you're kidding me," she answered, mouth slightly open, eyes wide." Leila cannot be that evil... can she?"
Those last two words Ana said in a whisper.
"The bomb is indeed INSIDE the Eiffel Tower on the 3rd level. Just like we thought, Ana" he told her, sounding so defeated.
As those words reached her ears, Ana got so fucking pissed! "I am SO gonna hack into her bank account and empty it all! That BITCH! What are you gonna do now, Christian?"
"I have to go back. I've to go back to the Eiffel Tower." He replied, and felt the pain once more. However, he didn't make a sound, so she didn't know that he was in any pain.
Right now Ana felt so powerless, on the verge of breaking down. But just as she was about to sob, she heard a skin crawling sound.
It was Christian!
It sounded like he had fallen down?
"Christian? What's the matter? Christian?!" Ana shouted, her voice shaky.
He groaned and whispered." I uhum, I think I'm in a tiny bit of trouble. I'm bleeding… a lot. But don't worry…" he began, but got cut off by a voice.
A man was shouting in French and sounded very angry.
"Christian?" Ana said, as her eyes fluttered shut, her whole body trembling.
Was he caught by security from the Louvre Museum?! NOO...
"Ana, I uhumm… correction... I think I'm in BIG trouble here." she heard Christian whisper, but then it went silent...
"Christian?" she uttered, while tears streamed down her face." Talk to me... please?"
However, he didn't reply, because he was not able.
As the pain worsened for him, Christian's hand landed on his chest, while tears spilled from his eyes, lying motionless on the cold, hard museum floor.
He couldn't move...
"Mcneal! We have to do something! Mcneal, where are you?!" Christian heard Ana shout through his earbud, while he attempted to get up.
However, he did all of it in vain, because he was unable to move an inch. And it was then when three, very angry security guards walked his way.
Just as they were about to reach him, Christian's eyes fluttered shut, waiting for the inevitable.
Was he really busted? Man, he could not believe this was happening to him.
In Seattle, Christian was able to slip away every single time, but not in France…
He was caught in Paris... FUCK!
Note: Oh, no. Christian is bleeding out and he got caught by security! Crap! :(
In the next chapters we will find out what happened in the past between Christian, Leila and her older sister.
Backstory coming right up, all. ;)
