The First Pokemon Choice

Summary : Feeling different than their kind. Two pokemon seek out help. But doing so, will the help change their life forever. But also turn them into different Pokémon where their no longer part of mother Mew's creations. But another.

Pokemon is owned by its creators, not me. I just own this story. That said this story will be within the pokemon universe, yet it will be my AU, meaning it wont be the same path as the current pokemon show is going. That means no unnecessary flames from pokemon fan nuts who wants me doing my story like the show (or manga). Cause that's not happening. After all this story (and others link to it) is for my enjoyment. If you hate it, than just don't read it.

Moving on, this story is link to my unfinished story 'I'll be Here Waiting' as well others in the work as prequels. That leads to a bigger story i'm working on, called 'Aurora'.

Now that's all said. A couple more things and i'll be done.

Chapter 2: The new two Pokemon

Continuing with their journey together. They meet other enemies. But with each having the other's back. The two made it through. However, due to this, a quick friendship that started after meeting. Has developed into something more. That's why as they reach their destination the two's tails were entwined behind them.

Coming to the last spot they were shown by the bird gods. The rodents found themselves approaching a thick forest. Trees stretching to the sky. Unfortunately soon going further into the forest. A misty fog took over the area, causing it hard to see anything and smell their way around. Leading to Bolt becoming upset.

"Great, we came all this way just to get lost in a fog. Now how we are going to find the lake?"

"Simple Bolty. It's dim, but I can still smell the water nearby." Here Bolt tried to smell for water again but felt as if his nose was stuffed up.

"How? I can't smell nothing, I feel blind. So how can you smell water, and I can't?"

"Easy." Aqua starts, "I been around water nearly all my life. So, my nose knows the scent even if it's a tiny bit in the air." Sniffing the air, she shifted her neck to the right of them. "It's this way," Trusting Aqua knows what she's saying. Bolt followed her, keeping close so not to get lost in the fog.

Letting her nose lead them. It wasn't long until Bolt himself started smelling water in the air, while the fog begun breaking up in front of them. Though as Bolt looked behind them, the fog was still thick as ever.

Eventually Aqua stopped to face a widespread lake. Although the fog was hovering in the air it wasn't bad enough for the rodents not to see the lake went on for miles.

Finally reached the lake they been told Aurora would be. Bolt and Aqua settle themselves upon a bank by the lake.

Both the bird gods informed them, they needed to just wait, and she will appear. Not questioning the birds. The two kept stilled in movement and sound.

Maybe an hour went by. But as the time the rodents were about to fall asleep. Something stuck its head out of the water surface. By now the fog that been hovering, was surrounding the area and lake but nothing within the area, including the lake. Giving Bolt and Aqua clear view of the creature slowly appearing from the lake.

And what the two saw, was a human surfacing from the water. Despite day was fading into night. Bolt could see the human face clear as day, causing the mouse to jump to his feet to flee.

"Let's get out of here, Aqua!" He shouted. However Aqua didn't move, just stare out to the being appearing from the water, moving in their direction. "Aqua come on!" Bolt said, rushing back to drag the other mouse if he must. "If we don't, it's to see us- "

"Bolty, look again. It's not a human."

And sure, enough Aqua was right. It wasn't human per-say. Yes, it had a human similar face feature, from the eyes, nose and mouth and long flowing hair and human upper part from neck to waist. But with it closer than before. Bolt notice a few things with its features. Its hair color was abnormal to be human. The base color was orange, then followed with yellowish gold and red at edges of the hair (yellow highlights and red lowlights). Its eyes were strong bluish green that seem to be glowing. And between its hair was unhuman ears. As it reached the bank they were at, using its arms to pull itself out of the lake, revealed its lower part wasn't human legs, but a greenish- blue fish tail, with a glowing yellow pattern at end of the tail, but not the fin. The fin was blue with red tips. Another of the same color fin was on its lower spine back, looking like a non-element animal called a shark had on their back, not to mention its fin tail looked like a shark's main tail too.

Despite the fish scales, that are greenish blue like the tail, on its arms, upper part of its shoulders. There were red writing symbols covering her arms like a second skin. And even if the writing might be normal. Neither Bolt and Aqua knew how to read –or write- so either had no clue what the symbols meant. And around her neck was a pearl rope (necklace) of many color beads. There was another smaller one on her wrist. She rose upward the best she could, letting her long locks conceal her chest and lower belly. But even if Bolt could see this part better. He couldn't compare if it was human or not, since the mouse never saw this part of a female human. Regardless of it had some human features. Bolt admitted the being was a breathtaking sight.

Suddenly, without warning, a wind appeared in the area, and swirled around the being, rising it from it spot on the bank. Instantly with the swirling becoming faster forming a bright shining light to blind the mouse. Bolt and Aqua shield their eyes. Luckily, the light died down as soon after it appeared. Following behind, the wind released the being, before taking to the sky, disappearing.

However, the being before wasn't there anymore. But instead, an entirely different one.

A bluish green four-legged form with features between a beast and dragon. But different altogether too. Red dragon skin plates covered the underside and the front part of the neck. Fin scales, in blue with yellow lines, ran down the back of its long spine neck in sharp looking ridge pattern. A blue shark-like fin at the tip of the tail, seem to be the second fish feature as the fin scales. Its four claw feet resemble a dragon one, however the two front feet had five claw toes, with the back feet only had three. Yellow fur covered outta side of the tail. While yellow feathers adored the backside of its front legs and feet. Tan, orange dragon scales from the top of its front legs, feet and the bottom of its back feet. Despite feathers and fur on its body. The orange manes upon its head, with a set of slightly loop ears sticking out from it on either side, is like its former form's hair color and look, even the same length at reaching its shoulders. Making it manes look more human than creature to Bolt. It's eyes though different than before a little. The greenish blue pupils and glowing effect were the same. But it couldn't be said for the tan, orange base of the eyes and the black center between the other two made the pupils not look as if they were floating within the base of the eyes like the former had. Its bluish green snout was so simply as any beast animal (element or not). But again, also different from any kind too. To end its form were massive white bird wings, nothing he and (and he's sure) Aqua seen before. In short terms. It seems to be an honor seeing such a mystical creature. And its other form had already been breathtaking to see.

You seem more at ease with this form, than the other, Bolt.

There are many questions he wanted to ask. Although hearing a soft, almost melody voice within his head, calling him by his name. Seem to be the front seat to the rest. And despite the being's mouth never moved. Bolt knew it's voice he heard.

"How you know my name?" Asked Bolt, while to his side. Aqua kept staring in admires at the being. Again, the voice spoke in both rodents' head.

I know about you and Aqua here, for a while. -

"You have? But how?" Cut in Bolt. Making Aqua nearly roll her eyes at the other rodent.

"You thick head!" she starts, after shifting her head in his direction. "This is Aurora!" At Bolt dropping his mouth in shock. Aqua had to halt from falling over at how dense he can be.

"What really?"

"Of course!" She couldn't stop from bringing a front paw to her face, sighing. "It's a good thing you're cute, Bolty."

"Yep." Bolt agreed, just only a second later realize what she meant. "Hey!" Instantly as the two rodents face off, glaring. A cheerful laugh run through their heads, causing Bolt and Aqua halt in glaring to look to the being. Who, no longer on all four, was standing on her back feet. Similar pose as any human Bolt seen before.

As Aqua said. I am Aurora. However, Aqua I did not predict you two will be here. I was told by the Beginning Tree. Through its tree children, it watched you two through the years of your training with both Spikey and Icey.

Unlike most humans. All Pokemon and animals, know of the Beginning Tree. So, both rodents were familiar with its name being said. But what the two didn't get, was why such a wonderful thing like the Beginning Tree wasted its time watching them.

"But why?" Bolt begun. "I mean are me and Aqua really that special to notice." Despite his words. Aqua felt the same. 'Why focus on them?'

Stepping up to the two, Aurora smiles warmly down at the puzzle rodents. But you two are special. You are the only of my grandchildren who's not afraid to step out of their kind. And, enduring two of my children's training, took the journey to seek me out. Aurora pauses as Bolt's tummy growl at that moment. Having a sweat drop appear on the side of Aqua's head. Bolt could only rise its hind legs, using its paw to rub aside his head.

"Sorry, um. I've not had anything since we got here."

That's fine. There's fruits and nuts back in my hut. I can finish explaining there.

Though she's happy she could handle her hunger better than Bolt. Aqua didn't lag as Aurora leads the way through fog to her hut. However, Bolt wasn't lagging either. Just like the female rodent. He was nearly neck and neck in walking with Aqua.

Although that could be due to the fog had been nonexistent in the direction Aurora was heading. Nonetheless seeming as if they didn't leave the lake that long ago. Bolt and Aqua found themselves facing a leaf and hard dirt made hut soon later. Able to still smell water in the air, Aqua was sure they didn't go too far from the lake.

Weren't long after feasting on the fresh fruits and nuts. Aurora laid in on explaining. Turns out with both Bolt and Aqua showing promising early for being different than their kind. The two bird gods were told to train them to endure the element they wanted to be, by the Beginning Tree. Who's been watching the whole time. And as soon as they pass their training. The Beginning tree, asked Aurora, if they reached her, to gift them with the element they worked hard to obtain.

"You mean you can do it?" Bolt jumped in at Aurora speaking.

Why yes, I can. But we must wait until tomorrow. For this to happen, I will need my oldest children of this world. Spikey and Ziz for you Bolt. And Icey and Leviatha for you Aqua. But I must warn you two. You will change from the form you are. And with you becoming one of my children afterwards, none of either of your family packs will remember you. So, are you two still want to go through with this?

All this sinking in. Bolt and Aqua were silent. Deep down the two were aware sacrifices might be made. But could they really say goodbye to their family packs. Right than as if the other needed the answer. The two turned to the other, exchanging looks. And suddenly they knew the answer. Locking their tails together as they stared, determined eyes, in Aurora's direction.

"We understand. But having been different from our kind, even our own family pack." Bolt returns a reassure smile toward Aqua before going on. "The truth is, we believe we'll be happy after, then now. So, we accept our family and friends will no longer remember us. But fine with it." Aqua nodded, agreeing to everything Bolt said.

Very well. We'll start in the morning. But there's still a few things we still need to go over until we sleep. Starting with after you two are changed. I will need to rest to restore my energy soon after. And you two, will be made to guard over me, until I awake….

For a few more hours Aurora went over all more about Bolt and Aqua's near future. And with their wishes coming true by Aurora. The rodents felt they owed the being or Queen of all pokemon and animals, Aurora. Everything. So, protecting her while she rests was the lease they could do.

…

Early next day

As Aurora returned them to the lake the next day. Bolt wasn't sure they slept long by how sleepy he still was and noticing the nearly mid night scenery of the lake made him believe maybe it was still night and Aurora woke them up too early.

Without warning Aurora's laughter played through Bolt's mind.

Oh Bolt. I assure you it's the next day. But to handle and make sure your new form is done right. I'm having both Spikey and Ziz create a heavy lightning storm before we start.

Heard what Aurora said to Bolt through her own mind, Aqua spoke. "So, Bolt's going first?" She wasn't upset simply curious, which Aurora sense.

Yes, Bolt will be first, due to morning light will be needed to complete his form, and since I need the lakes' properties to make your form, which will be between when the sun's light touches the lake's surface.

Meanwhile as Aurora's speaking with Aqua. And despite he can hear them both within his head. Bolt's attention has been on the black clouds as he was feeling the lightening god bird within them. That's why with his sight on the starting rumbling clouds. Bolt nearly jumps out of his skin when Aurora steps up, gently placing an unexpected paw on his shoulder, saying, It's time. Race through his mind.

Earning a tiny giggle from the being and a bit louder one from Aqua from his nervous state, thereafter. However, Bolt had no time to fall into his embarrassment before Aurora gathers him into her front paws and standing on her back feet as her wings spread out on either side of her, takes to the sky like any bird creature Aqua ever seen.

"Be safe, Bolty." Aqua whispers to the already deafened raging storm above her as she watches Aurora vanish within the rumbling, black clouds.

…

At the start of the flight, Bolt feels wind rushing by him within Aurora's grasp, making the rodent having troubling keeping his eyes open. But the lightening and flashes dancing around them. Had him feeling at peace. However, as Aurora flew higher and higher. Bolt starts getting a heavy pull surrounding him at the time he hears, brace yourself, we're leaving the earth's line.

Then like more weight has been placed on him. Bolt was trying to raise his head at the same moment Aurora withdrawals him within her paws, outward from her body. Unable to lift even one eye at her, Bolt kept his eyes shut though he's looking toward her. That's why he didn't see the 'I'm sorry' look grace Aurora's face, before she releases her grip on him.

Right away Bolt knew he's falling, and fast. But at the speed he's going. His voice couldn't work up a scream to release. Fortunately, the early heavy weight left making him lighter. But it seems this just causes him to fall faster.

Nonetheless of this and petrified of 'free-falling'. Able to open his eyes again, Bolt does only to see, not only was he in the center of the storm clouds, but he sees the lightening god bird fly toward him on his right side and unknown green serpent-dragon flying at him on his left.

Not a chance to think what's happening. And unseen force halts his falling nearly a second before he's hit on either side with a lightening attack from the yellow bird and the green legless dragon.

Instantly shot by the two lightening, quickly Bolt's experiencing such agony he's never felt before. Realizing, as the strong blend lightening powers rotate around, with him within the middle of them. That the god bird had been holding back during his training. And he's now just feeling what it's true power is, along with the other's power too.

In discomfort as lightening rips through and within his body as if trying to split him in two. A scream of pain nearly shoots his lips.

Bolt don't fight it. Center yourself or the power alone will kill you.

Unsure how he could hear Aurora's warning tone of voice within all the aches and stinging coursing in his body. But able to, and not wanting to give out after coming this far. Bolt muster up the will to endure each pain as his mind calms.

Though not an easy task, Bolts learns. He's able to ball himself up in a ball while his mind focuses on his heart beats. Where taken this route, not only help him stay center but also, unknown to him, strengthening his entire body against the lightening.

Which was what Aurora patiently been waiting for still hovering above the earth, but able to see and watch the progress below her of Bolt's entire self not just getting use to the intense power of lightening, but able to breath with it at its strongest level. Meaning both her sons have been releasing their most powerful attack on Bolt. A risky path, yes. But an unavoidable one if Bolt's ever going to handle the next step.

Bracing her own self of what's going to happen next. Aurora removes a clear blue stone-like 'bead' from her rainbow necklace and drops it above where she had been watching Bolt. You're doing great, Bolt. Aurora sent to Bolt while seeing the 'bead' descending toward the still rotate lightening that's long since encase Bolt within it.

But instead of the bead entering the continue rotate lightening. It halts an inch above the circling power before breaking up one minute and melting and coating the lightening and, Bolt a second later. Resulting Aurora staring down at a now floating green round ball holding Bolt and the rotate lightening within it.

…

Like a flash across his mind enough to hear Aurora's almost motherly voice reach him. Bolt didn't get time to enjoy the warmth that came with her voice before an extreme pain assault him from all sides, making him believe his body is being stretch and twisted, while his soul itself was suffering the affect 10 folds worsts than the outta part of him.

No longer can withstand what he's going through, mostly as it seems all the lightening was engulfing him, making it hard to breathe let alone think. Almost desperately Bolt fights the encase feeling suffocating him. Until, unable to hold anymore, a shout reaches his hearing, while unknown he shouted, the green ball shattered from not only his yell, but from a strong yellow lightening leaving his body.

PIKACHU! Rang across the sky for miles. Unfortunately, with his 'body' beyond exhausted Bolt only realize he was falling again, just a second later to pass out.

Only to be caught in mid-fall by none other than Aurora, smiling down at the new form within her arms. You did it my little Bolt.

…

Once thanked both her sons and them taking off soon after. Aurora started the short flight back for her lake. In no time she spots Aqua rushing toward her as she gracefully lands a foot from the female rodent. Right away she notices Aqua's shock expression to Bolt's new form. But quickly replaces with concern at his out-cold state.

Nonetheless, Aurora didn't calm Aqua down until she laid Bolt upon a makeshift bed within her hut once returning to it. Where Aqua stayed within her sight the whole time. And though it took a bit to reassure Aqua that Bolt was fine and just needs to rest a little. Aurora was able to convince the female rodent to follow her back to the lake for her turn. But unlike Bolt. Aurora will be able to hold Aqua throughout the progress. Which she explained all this with Aqua before they disappeared inside the lake.

…

Next morning at sunrise

Slowly opening his eyes, expecting to still be in pain. Bolt was taken back when he feels not one drop of pain as he risen to his feet. Immediately catching something strange about his body during getting to his feet. However, before he could grasp this. His sight fell upon an unknown blue/white creature sleeping aside him.

Nearly startle at the new being near him. Bolt almost growl at it. That's if he didn't catch its scent. It was mostly what he usually smells on water element creatures but smelling the familiar natural scent that he's only smelled from his Aqua. Bolt knew this was his mate and best friend.

Bolt sinking this in, observes Aqua's new form. Her size wasn't nearly bigger than her former one. But everything else was another story. Starting with her nearly blue spherical shape with a yellow underside, and round -cute- ears with white insides. Where her prior form had four long legs. Her new form's arms and feet are short and have no visible digits. And as for her tail it's now a zig zagging black tail with a yellow, bubble-like ball on the end of it.

Her form is nothing Bolt ever seen before; not to mention the small yellow lightning bolt shape above her small bead eyes. But he couldn't deny he thought this form, suit Aqua. But she looks cuter than her first form. Her natural scent just seems like a bonus to him.

With those thoughts Bolt settle back aside his sleeping mate, affectionately licking her. Whereas he's doing this, he still wasn't aware of his new form or a certain green-blue eyes been watching him since he awoke.
