Chat is feeling a bit replaced by Rena Rouge and Ladybug finds him talking to Plagg on the Eiffel Tower one night. Plagg is there to snap him out of it. He is not transformed, but Ladybug doesn't peek. This is LB, after all. (One-shot)
I, unfortunately, do not own Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir and therefore cannot save the originals from the sad plotline where they are oblivious, gullible dummies.
Chat Noir practically collapsed on the Eiffel Tower, feeling utterly and completely useless. Rena Rouge had helped defeat the Akuma again, and while he was glad they had gotten the help they needed, he couldn't help but feel…not unwanted, just… unneeded. They hadn't even needed him to use Cataclysm and Rena had handled most of the fight.
Then the two girls had rushed in the same direction, giggling.
Honestly, he'd begun to think Rena knew LBs identity. Now he knew she did. Rena hadn't been reprimanded for staying with Ladybug when she left to transform back. She obviously knew something he didn't.
"Claws in."
After everything she had said about keeping it a secret for their safety, would she really go and tell Rena her secret?
"Oh be honest," he thought, "it's obvious she's close to Rena in her personal life. Of course, she'd trust her with her identity."
Really, he couldn't be mad. Hurt, sure. But mad? No. It had been clear that his lady had been under a lot of stress after becoming the guardian. He'd done his best to be there for her, but he knew that your best wasn't always enough.
Adrien was just glad she had someone to talk about it to, even if it wasn't him.
Suddenly realizing that Plagg had been uncharacteristically silent, he looked up to see the tiny being of destruction watching him with quiet concern. "Plagg?" The small cat shook his head, floating towards his chosen knee.
He opened his mouth, seemed to think better, and closed it again. Finally, he sighed. "Kit… I just…I want you to know that the bugs often tend to tell the foxes first. It's not that they don't trust their cats, but they always choose people that they're close to.
"So then when they break-and yes, they almost always break- they tell a close friend. Sometimes it's the turtle, but normally the fox. Try not to take it personally."
Adrien stared at him for a minute, taking in all that his constant companion had said. "Always?" He whispered.
Plagg shook his head, a slight smile on his face. "No, just most of the time. But Kitten, the ones of mine who find out first…never end up being happy. They push too much, move too fast. And the bugs just… push them away faster. I would know. I've had… well, a really long time to think about things. I'm still figuring out just how slow to take it."
"What do you mean? Are you worried about indigestion?"
"Huh? Oh, no, you oblivious moron! I love more than just cheese! Oh, but cheese is un-brie-lievably delicious, don't you think?" Plagg seized the chance to pull his Kit out of his strange mood quickly.
"I am feta-p with your horrible cheese puns. Do you want me to leave you to be forever prov-alone?"
"If looks curd kill…"
"You're up to no gouda, aren't you?"
"You're getting cheddar at this! I camembert the last time I was this proud of one of my Kits!"
"That's grate. We should probably get home." Adrien stood, stretching slightly. "Oh, and Plagg?"
"Hmmm?" The kwami hummed in way of answering.
"Thanks."
"For?"
"You know what."
"Do I?"
"Claws out."
"Ahhh, ok ok ok I'm sor-" Plagg tried as Adrien transformed. Chat Noir hummed a small amused sound, full of affection for the kwami. Turning towards his house, he wasted no time in shooting up into the night and off towards his prison. He never noticed a red and black spotted ravenette watching him as he passed.
Ladybug pushed off the wall she'd been flushed up again as her eyes followed her partner until they couldn't anymore.
Though he had never said any of his thoughts aloud, she knew exactly why he had shown up to sit in the silence of the city. It amazed her how easily he joked even when in one of those moods. And everything Plagg had said about reveals… almost scared her. She'd been feeling so guilty about telling Alya first and Alya had tried to comfort her but knew that this was something her dark-haired friend would have to figure out on her own.
Marinette landed softly on her bed, her transformation wearing off. Tikki looked at her for a minute before floating off to her plate of cookies.
"Tikki…" her chosen said slowly as if coming to a conclusion.
"Yeah?"
"I think…" she stopped for a moment before…
"IthinkImlovewithChatNoir"
I know I'm evil! I'm ending it here. This was a one-shot addressing how I think Adrien should feel when he figures out (or finds out) Rena knows LB's identity. And I jump back and forth between if I prefer Adrienette or Ladynoir, so I just went with the latter for this one. THERE WILL NOT BE AN ADDITION. I might do another one with similar stuff and make it a series but this won't be anything more. Imagine the rest for me.
