Battle at Turffield Stadium!

A/N: This Fan Fiction is based on the Galar region and games (Sword/Shield) featuring CanonXOC

Anani stood waiting in the breezeway. Gently tapping her toe on the rubbering of the floor as she straightened her Gym Challenger's Uniform. Hop and Marnie pushed their way through the crowd to their seats, ready and waiting to see Anani's first Gym Battle First Hand.

"You think she'll be all right?" Marnie asked.

"For sure." said Hop, "I'm certain she can win this one, she's my rival after all!"

"Hmm." Marnie chuckled, "You have a great deal of support in each other..." she smiled, "It's nice."

"Shh!" Hop said, "She's about to step out."

The crowd's roar could be heard as Anani stepped foot onto Turffield. She couldn't tell if they were cheering for her victory or her defeat. Milo entered on opposite end of the field. A Jolly well built farmer bod with a Kind smile. He grinned as he waved to the audience and faced Anani,

"My Gym is the first one Challengers face." said Milo, "But that doesn't make it an easy fight." he stated, "You seem to understand Poke'mon well." he said, "Seems like it will be a doozy of a battle!" he beamed.

"Up on field we have Challenger Anani versus Leader Milo!" said the ref," Milo's expertise is on Grass Types!" he went on, "This will be a two on two battle..." he said, "BEGIN!"

The crowd went wild as Milo threw his first Poke'mon.

"Let's Go! Gossifluer!" he said and out popped a singing small flower type.

"Right!" said Anani,"Swiper! I choose you!" She threw out Nikit who was raring to go.

"Now Gossifluer" said Milo, "Use Round!"

"Skreaaakeke!" Nikit screeched as the Gossofluer's song rang out its ears. After taking some damage Swiper shook its head and charged at Gossifluer.

"Go Swiper! Use Quick attack!"

Nikit's speed increased and it weaved as Gossifluer shot Magical Leaf at it, and it landed a headstrong head shot.

"Flueeerrr!" Gossifluer cried.

"Hang in there Gossifluer!" said Milo, "Use Magical leaf one more time!" This time the move landed.

"Oh no, Nikit!" said Marnie.

"Don't give up just yet!" said Hop, "The match isn't over!" He clenched his fists tight internally cheering with the roar of the crowd that surrounded them.

"Well if she doesn't do something soon her Gym Challenge will be over before it even begins!" said Marnie.

"Shake it off, Swiper!" said Anani.

"Now Gossifluer use Round!" said Milo.

"Counter it with Snarl, Swiper!" said Anani. Both Poke'mon let out their battle cries, each one taking damage from the other's hit.

"Now Swiper! Use Beat Up!"

"KeKeKe~" Nikit growled and went full throttle on Gossifluer, with 5 consecutive hits landing the Plant type Poke'mon was down for the count.

"Yes all right!" said Hop, along with the cheering audience that only got louder as a light took to Nikit's body and he began to grow.

"Wow, Lookit!" Hop beamed.

"Her Nikit!" said Marnie,"It's evolving!"

"Thivraaaaaaah~" Swiper howled.

"Wicked!" Marnie beamed, "It's a Thieval!"

"Round one Complete!" said the Ref, "The winner is Challenger Anani her new Thieval!"

The crowd went wild.

"Woo...a doozy indeed!" Milo chuckled as he scratched his cheek modestly, "I'm gonna have to Dynamax if I hope to win!" he smirked, "Go! Eldegoss!"

Dynamax...

she thought to herself and gently cupped her hand over her Dynamax Band.

I suppose if I'm gonna use it for the first time...

This Gym battle is as good a time as any!

She shot a determined leer at Milo and her hot pink eyes flared up a flash of heat.

"Thieval...return!" she said as she called back her newly evolved Poke'mon, "I'm gonna leave it all up to you...Fuukuu!" She called out.

"Say what? Fuukuu?" Marnie blinked.

"Wicked..." said Hop, "She's gonna use Kubfu!"

"Kubfu?" Marnie blinked curiously, "What's a Kubfu?"

"It's a fighting type Poke'mon that was gifted to Anani from a Dojo we trained at just before the Opening Ceremonies.

"A Dojo?" she blinked, "That is wicked!" she said,"But I can't say if a Fighting Type might be much help against a Grass Type."

"We'll just see!" Hop smirked.

"Very well then...if you've made your choice~ Activate Dynamax!" he said, calling back the dandylion puff. After a few gentle pats on his massively grown Poke'ball he tossed it back behind him and from it emerged Eldegoss once more, in massive size.

"So that's how it works..." Anani nodded, "Fuukuu!" She called for Kubfu and held her fist forward to him, "Activate Dynamax!" She declared.

"Bear Bearma bear!" said Kubfu as it lunged itself forward into a fist bump with Anani. The ball grew in massive size and she tossed it back behind her. Re-emerging from it was Kubfu, a right titan of its own, letting out a battle cry.

"Now, Eldegoss!" said Milo," MAX OVERGROWTH!"

In an instant the ground began to shake, and a Forest of Wonderland took growth all around Kubfu's feet. After being pummeled by mushrooms the giant cub stumbled back before letting out a earth shaking cry.

"That's right Don't give up yet, Fuukuu!" she called out, "MAX AIR STREAM!"

"Ahh!" Marnie and Hop cried out with the rest of the audience as strong winds flew through the field. The giant Eldegoss fell and a red lighted explosion blew off as it hit surface out cold.

"I-I don't believe it!" Marnie gasped, "She won!"

"Round two complete!" said the Ref, "The Winner of this Gym battle is Challenger Anani and Kubfu!"

The crowd went wild as Kubfu went down to normal zise and let loose a cry of victory rushing Anani with a fist bump of triumph.

"Yes, all right I knew you could do it ANANIIIIIIII!" Hop screamed his cheer with the Audience. It was clear now who the cheers were for and it filled Anani with a feeling she couldn't even begin to explain.

"Heh Heh...And so the grass has wilted..." Milo chuckled as he approached Anani who, lost in the glory missed a step and stumbled forward to meet him.

"Proper job, Challenger Anani." he grinned, "And to show you have triumphed in your first Gym Challenge, I grant you with this~" he beamed, "The Grass Badge!"

"Thank you~!" She beamed happily and clasped hands with him in a firm shake.

Anani hummed a tune of triumph as she wandered outside of the Gym, polishing up her reflection in her shining new badge. Out of nowhere, a wild Hop came and threw himself around her.

"You did it Anani! You won!" he beamed.

"But of course I did~" she grinned, "You didn't think I was going to let you stay ahead of me for long, did you?"

"You may have caught up for now~" said Marnie, "But don't think you can keep up that pace forever!"

"We'll just see about that!" Anani snickered.

"Well I say, with one Gym Badge a piece, we ought to keep this party going!" Hop beamed, "Next up is to take on Nessa in Hulbury!"

"Well the only way we're gonna get to Hulbury is by cutting through straight on Route 5." said Marnie, "I'll race you there!"

"You're on!" said Hop, "You may have gotten first swing on the Gym in Turffield, but you're definitely not gonna make it first to Hulbury!"

"Says who!?" Marnie smirked.

Hop grinned as he locked hands with Anani and charged ahead.

"Says Me, Myself and Anani!"

"Hey, leave me out of this!" said Anani forcibly dragged away in playful abundance to their next destination.
