Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Wolf and Reaper. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum, and Rooster Teeth do.

Ruby had made sure that Azul wouldn't be harmed by Grimm, the pain of the poison working itself out of his body would draw more the beasts from him.

It was something that angered Ruby more, which didn't help in keeping Grimm away. She was helping the others look for a far more impressive beast.

"That's its name? Nuckelavee?" Jaune asked, keeping his hand near the hilt of his sheathed blade which he carried in his shield.

"Yes." Ren's tone gave away how angry the Grimm made him, how disgusted he was to hear the words pass through Jaune's lips.

So, this monster and Ren did have history after all. she looked at Nora, she felt just as much anger from hearing about the hulking beast as well.

"And you don't think it died? The Mistral Airforce has been busy burning down anything they think has Grimm in it… they've already burned Shion." Ruby heard and hummed with annoyance.

Shion was where the airship they had hitched a ride aboard was headed. The village no longer standing implied the pilot was either saved… or his life was ended by the cascade of Fire Dust melting through everything in its way.

That just confirmed Cinder was busy destroying Mistral if it wasn't her plan to do so? She was taking out all her vengeance on being denied her prize in another kingdom.

"It's survived worse. Huntsmen and Huntresses all over have tried to kill it, and none of them are still alive." Ren put in as his hands crept towards Stormflower.

Ruby was reminded the world had been burned by Cinder's selfish intentions. Her plans would destroy all the peace that had come after decades of fighting and war… and she didn't care, because all she wanted was power, even if the world had to burn for her to get it.

Ruby looked at Azul, he whimpered and then a footstep caused the trees to shake, and for Grimm to shriek and retreat.

Whatever the 'Nuckelavee' was? It was the king of the Grimm here, just as the Wyvern was with Vale.

"It's ancient," Ren said simply, he hummed and looked at Ruby who was busy looking at the ground.

She was busy thinking. Did Cinder put a Grimm meant to control the other Grimm in each kingdom? it seemed like that, they had to have Cinder as their master… that bodes poorly if Cinder had planned an invasion of all of Remnant.

"She keeps going into thought like that a lot," Jaune whispered, unaware that Ruby noticed.

She planned on hunting down this Grimm and destroying it, maybe that would draw Cinder's attention, she knew Cinder was powerful… but she was going to keep fighting until she died.

"I can hear you, Ren." Ruby checked the magazine of Crescent Rose before standing up.

The Grimm was loud enough to be heard, meaning she could easily track it…. killing it would be another story, but she had fought a massive Nevermore, she could kill something like this.

"You're not going anywhere." Ren stood up to block the reaper, although he knew it was fruitless to think she couldn't just maneuver around him.

Ren had the pain of loss in his eyes, and it was clear to Ruby he had decided that nobody else would die.

"I am… it's a threat to Mistral, to Haven..." Ruby stated, pointing towards the direction the monster had departed to.

Ren stared into Ruby's eyes; he had the very real sting of someone who had lost a lot more than she appeared to. Her eyes darted to Azul constantly. She acted as the second she didn't check and see he was still resting and safe a Grimm would feast on his body like a fresh corpse.

She didn't want to kill the Alpha Class Grimm just to save Azul, or to protect Mistral. Ruby was trying to redeem herself for Beacon.

Beacon cut at them all, it stung, to see friends and innocent people dying in the streets, to see Grimm and White Fang raining down in the city, cutting down anyone in their path.

"Ruby…" The Rose Reaper turned away from him, already having her mindset for her.

Ruby gathered her weapon and looked at the trio before departing. Azul grunted in pain.

"No… Don't chase the Grimm… NO!" Azul screeched; his claws extended in a bid to rip through something.

"This is Cinder's fault… and she's going to pay for it." Ruby walked away, the last of her innocent nature ripped and thrown into the wind.

If Cinder wanted war? Ruby would give her one not even she could handle with all her powers and minions.

Little did either of them know that Ruby was the key figure to defeat the Fall Maiden for good.

Little did they also know what else was coming.

Phew, another chapter is done! I want to point out the chapters will be longer soon as a fight scene is coming up soon. The next chapter will end up being in a week on Sunday and will show Ruby's rampage towards the Alpha Grimm, until then, Lighting Wolf out!
