Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Wolf and Reaper. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum, and Rooster Teeth do.
(Mistral.)
Azul didn't know what to think of Leonardo 'Leo' Lionheart. He was surprised at the headmaster being a Faunus, however.
"I have a feeling Cinder is still going to strike at Haven sooner or later," Azul stated while pulling off his cape and humming.
Azul had changed into his pajamas. He was surprised the others had decided to roam around Haven.
Then again? Azul had been unconscious for several days. He wasn't sure what had happened before he woke up.
"Yep," Ruby responded while Azul hummed and nodded. Ruby watched the pajama-clad; barefoot Faunus look at her. "Cinder is going to strike at Haven next. Lionheart told Qrow Cinder's been busy looking around the edges of the school." Ruby stated while looking at her feet and stretching.
Azul could still see anger in Ruby's eyes. It didn't take trying to talk to the others to know Ruby was mad at him.
To be fair? Azul took the hit to fight off Tyrian. There was also the fact that Azul knew Tyrian was more than a match for her.
"I'm not going to apologize for trying to fight off Tyrian," Azul said as he brushed off his shirt. "I told you that Crescent Rose wasn't a good weapon for that fight," Azul added while he took a deep breath.
"You know Crescent Rose needs room to swing." Azul continued while Ruby hummed. "Tyrian's arm blades meant only swords like Violet Shadow and Qrow's Harbinger was the only weapons going to work," Azul added in, Ruby said nothing and rolled her eyes.
"He poisoned you," Ruby stated, there was enough poison in her tone to equal Tyrian's. "You spent DAYS almost dead," Ruby added while Azul shrugged and looked around.
"I'm trying to be a Huntsmen, Rubes," Azul said and turned back to Ruby. "You're supposed to be willing to give up your life for the greater good. I wasn't trying to beat Tyrian; I was trying to help Qrow." Azul stated before he started scraping his claws. He was glad that they could be used as weapons as well. It gave him a sort of way to defend himself if he lost his weapon.
"And you didn't think to back off?" Ruby asked Azul while Azul raises an eyebrow at her.
Ruby sighed and looked away. She knew Azul was going to ask why she didn't stay out of the fight, so she didn't get hurt. Azul was far too damn caring.
"Don't say it," Ruby stated, Azul said nothing and hummed, letting out a nod.
"What do you want me to say to be fair?" Azul asked Ruby while patting down his pajamas. "That I'm sorry you're not dead? That I should have told you to jump in? Let Tyrian batter you to the ground, and take off with you?" Azul questioned with a raised eyebrow and then sat up from his bed.
"I'D RATHER YOU HAVE NOT TRIED TO BE THE HERO!" Ruby yelled, Azul clutched at his ears in pain and looked at her. "You had to jump in there, get me worried… And for what? You knew Tyrian was far too powerful for you to defeat. You knew he wasn't going to lose to you. My father had to do most of the fighting." Ruby added as Azul looked at her and crossed his arms.
"I just told you for what, Rubes," Azul stated while leaning on her bed. "I also told you I'm not going to apologize for worrying about you. Tyrian went after YOU and me. If I lowered my guard for even a moment? Tyrian would have killed you." Azul stated before cracking his knuckles.
Ruby said nothing. Azul turned and walked to the door. He turned to look at Ruby.
"I'll be glad when Tyrian is locked up or dead," Azul said before cracking his neck. "I hope you're ok, Rubes. Qrow said you went on a warpath after I passed out… I'm not worth dying over." Azul stated as he exited the room.
Ruby's eyes widened and sighed before she got up. Azul didn't know what he was doing… Now he was willing to die if it meant saving Remnant. Ruby was ready to scream, but that wasn't going to help anything.
"Azul…" Ruby muttered to herself while she got up and walked to the door. She couldn't see Azul, and this was just driving her back up a wall.
Ruby walked around Haven, wanting to make sure Azul and the others were settling in. Azul was going to get himself killed if he continued down this road.
Ruby wasn't going to let her boyfriend, or her friends throw their lives away fighting Cinder. She would stop Cinder, and she would save Remnant, no matter how hard it was.
