"I won, Hop! I won!" Anani beamed as she leapt into the open arms of her dear mate in the Kiss and Cry.
"I know, mate! I saw!" he grinned, spinning her around in his embrace before her feet hit the ground again.
"That match was Wicked!" said Marnie with a grin.
"I know!" said Anani, "And my Drizzile evolved too-BEDE-Did you see-" She stopped herself there, only being reminded by her friends's confused expressions that bede wasn't there...
"I...I'm sorry mate..." Marnie said softly placing a hand on her shoulder, "But...bede isn't with us this time...remember?"
"I...yeah...yeah." Anani sighed, chuckling awkwardly as her cheeks flushed, "I guess I just got so used to having him around...and just...showing up randomly as he has been that I thought..." she chuckled and shrugged, "I guess I just forgot for a moment there..."
"Come along, mate." said Hop, placing a gentle palm to the small of Anani's back and smiled, "Let's rest your partners up after a match like that...they must be absolutely knackered."
"Yes...you're right." Anani smiled softly, "I'll be back then..."
"Hurry soon!" said Marnie, "Because MY match is next! and after watching yours, Anani, I'm all fired up!"
Anani stifled a chuckle with a nod as she hurried to restore her Poke'mon to full capacity once again. Hop sighed as he watched her wander off and folded his arms, huffing a slight bit in annoyance.
"That wally." Hop huffed, "Even when he's not around Bede manages to upset her-"
"You've got it wrong, mate." said Marnie.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Hop blinked as marnie chuckled awkwardly.
"I think she is upset...BECAUSE bede is not around..."
Hop sighed.
"...I know." he muttered softly. Though, he hated admitting to that. It upset him to think that Anani thought about Bede...that they got along...that they seemed to even have...some sort of connection that...he wouldn't be able to come close to if he tried... He didn't understand it...but it hurt him.
"Say...there's still some time until Bea's next match, yeah?" asked Anani as she returned, dressed in her regular clothes and her Poke'mon refreshed.
"Aye." said Hop, "After a beating like that I'm sure even Bea needs to rest for a bit." he chuckled, "Why do you ask?"
"I thought perhaps maybe we might be able to grab a proper lunch before Marnie goes off."
"Now that sounds like a right proper idea~!" Hop grinned, "What say you, Marnie?"
"I say, why not?" she chuckled.

"Huh...so Anani won her match against Bea, did she?" Bede mumbled to himself as he awaited in the hall for Oleana, "...Heh." he chuckled, "Well how do you like that..." a small grin curled up his lips.
The woman calls me here to meet and she can't even meet her own deadline...
He huffed to himself as time only continued to pass more slowly.
I had to miss actually BEING at Anani's match over this...
He twirled his badge ring with his index finger, the fighting badge already locked within it. He had a registration far earlier that morning so that he could meet with Oleana.
"What's that you're watching, Bede?" the devil herself spoke and he quickly slipped away his Rotom Phone.
"Nothing." he shrugged, "So what's up?" he asked, "Why did you want me to meet you here?"
"Right, sorry it took me so long." said Oleana, "The Chairman keeps me busy you see." she smirked. It rubbed Bede the wrong way...as though she were constantly challenging him for Chairman Rose's attention.
"But then...wasn't there something you wanted to ask of me, Bede?" asked Oleana.
"Oh...right." he said with a side glance, "I...had been thinking about everything you went over with me over the phone this morning..." he said to her, "So I was wondering if...maybe I could borrow the Chairman's Poke'mon for a spell...?"
"Hm?" Oleana blinked.
This was an interesting request indeed...

"Ahhh~ Now THAT was scrummy!" Hop said with a grin and his arms out stretched.
"It sure was." marnie nodded with agreement.
"After a good meal like that, surely you must be chock full of energy by now to face Bea yourself, right Marnie?"
"Mm!" the girl nodded.
"Well then...we better make our way back to the stadium so we can get ready for Marnie's match." said Anani, "And yours too, soon after Hop."
"Right you are, mate!" Hop grinned, "Go on then, lead the way!"
The three headed back towards the gym together, though right at the gate they were greeted by an all too familiar Yamper.
"Oi. it's Sonia!" Hop beamed with a waving arm.
"Oh, Hop!" called Sonia, "Are you and Anani preparing for your next gym battle?' she asked.
"Been there done that, mate." said Hop, "Anani already won hers." he stated,
"My battle is next." said Marnie.
"And mine is after her." said Hop, "Say, Sonia, did you come to watch."
"Not exactly..." said Sonia as she twirled a strand of her ginger hair around her finger, "There's actually a mural here in Stow-On-Side that's said to tell the story of the hero in Galar." she stated with sigh, "Though what's actually there today is a replika of the Ancient Art that used to be there..."
"Oh no kidding." Hop blinked while the ginger nodded.
"The two of you seem to have remarkably sharp insight from time to time." said Sonia, "Especially Anani more times than not, so I thought I might come by and gather what you guys may think when you see the ruins-"
KA-BOOM!
Sonia's sentence was interrupted by a startling loud rumbling.
"Wh-What in the world was that!?" asked a startled Hop.
"I'm not sure-" said Sonia, "But it sounded like it came from the ruins!"
"We should go check it out-" said Hop.
"But Hop, the Gym Challenge." said Anani.
"Right, Marnie, you should go on."
"What? Are you sure?" she asked.
"Your Gym Challenge is about to start." said Hop, "You shouldn't miss it. I still have some time for mine, We'll be back by then."
"...All right." Marnie nodded, "But...be careful."
"We will." Hop flashed her a grin, "and good luck!" From there they split off into opposite directions. Marnie dashed in to prepare for her registered match, meaning Hop and Anani alongside Sonia, quickly made their way up toward the ruins which was a little ways back behind the Gym. It seemed someone was attacking them... and shock and awe welled up inside the friends as a familiar body came into view.
"I-it can't be...!" said Hop, "I-is that...!?"
"...Bede...!" Anani gasped.
