"Anani!" Bede called out for her, breathless and panting, "Anani let's stop for a moment-" byt the girl didn't seem to notice. She was wide eyed and desparate.
"ANANI!" Bede huffed and gave her arm a tug to halt her to which she responded with a small yelp and some heavy panting from running for...who knows how long...it was already so dark...
"Are you MAD!?" Bede huffed swiping his arm away, "What on earth has gotten into you so suddenly!?"
"I...I don't know..." the girl said softly, "...I just, panicked..."
"...Really?" Bede blinked, "You panicked?" His lips curled into a tiny smile and he tried to stifle his own giggling as he rested his back against a tree.
"...This is bloody brilliant..." he chuckled.
"I'm sorry Bede-"
"Not you." he said to her, "...Me." he chuckled and gently pulled her hand down to have a seat next to him, "I'm the one who should be sorry...a right mess I made here, yeah?" he chuckled and shook his head, "A mess that got me disqualified to boot..." he sighed, "And you-" he scoffed, "You just buggered off with a disqualified contestant! You do know they might have your band as well for that mess!?"
"Heh...hehe..." Anani chuckled softly, "Well...they will have to catch me first I suppose."
"...They'll have to catch you first, huh?" he snorted, "Anani...you're wild..." he laughed leaning back with a sigh, "And now...we're lost." he blinked, "Like a couple of Babs in the woods..." he sighed.
"Yeah...sorry again" she sighed softly, "I guess I really wasn't thinking, huh?" she huffed and rested her head against her knees which she had pulled to her chest.
"Clearly you weren't." Bede scoffed, and a silence between them followed.
Well this is awkward...
He thought to himself, blushing.
"...Hey." Bede called to her softly placing a hand on her shoulder, "For whatever your reasoning may be...You're only thought was to help me, yeah?" he asked her, "So...Thanks for that I guess...I mean...atleast your intentions were good...I think." he blinked.
"Heh...yeah." she sighed.
This was awkward now. She really had no initial thought or reasoning for doing what she did. It was a fight or flight reflex. She couldn't help herself...
A lingering...heavy...foreboding feeling took over her as Oleana approached Bede to take his Wishing Stars...
These... feelings she was getting from Oleana... in that moment...
It didn't settle right with Anani... sat all.
All she could think of was to remove him and run. ..She didn't know why...
...She just did.
Bede sighed as he fiddled with the wishing stars in his hands.
"These Wishing Stars..." he spoke softly, "I should return them."
"But why?" Anani wondered, "You're the one who found them...those are your Wishing Stars..."
"Aye...I found them..." Bede chuckled, "But I was initially collecting them for The Chairman." he stated, "the least I can do...is return them."
Anani wasn't sure about this...but she knew Bede felt strongly for Chairman Rose...a man who saved him from lonliness...as Hop did for her...she sighed.
"...If that's what you think you should do..." she blinked, "...But...you should give them directly to the Chairman yourself...don't give them to Oleana."
That woman really rubbed her the wrong way...and this wasn't the first time either...
"A Brilliant idea!" Bede beamed, "Perhaps if I give them to The Chairman directly myself- he will reconsider my disqualification-"
"I'd wait a bit first." said Anani.
Bede looked to her with a raised brow.
"That was a pretty heated and intense moment." she stated, "Perhaps you're better giving him a little space and time to cool down before you rush in like that..."
Bede pouted... He was already irritated with this whole situation-
But-
He also knew that she was right.
"Very well..." he sighed, "I supposed that is the wiser option...after all...we should really figure out where we are...before we decide upon where we're going." he blinked and pulled out his Rotom Phone, beginning to tap through the screen while trying to ping their location.
As he did this...
Anani was already lost in her own little world...
That feeling...
She thought to herself.
It felt all to familiar...but...WHY?
"Eureka!" Hop beamed as he threw his arms around her, without much though, as he was merely attempting to show her his phone screen but it wound up being something completely different...
There was a small blush here, but he didn't mind it, he figured if he kept her distracted, she wouldn't take notice.
"According to the map, we are in Glimwood Tangle!" he stated," And as such to our exact coordinants...it seems we are much closer to Ballonlea." he blinked, "So I guess we'd be better off just going there...that's where you need to be anyway." he said, "After all...that's also where the next gym is."
"The next Gym?" she questioned, "Then...we should wait, for Hop and Marnie." she stated.
Bede let out a heavy sigh and slowly released his embrace of her from behind to turn her around to face him, "Listen to me, Anani." he blinked, "I get that you're mates and what not...but they are Gym Challengers too." he stated, "this means that they are also your rivals!" his hands gripped a little tighter on her shoulders, "This is a Challenge, a Competition...there aren't many more challengers left...and there's not a whole lot of time left either." he stated, "...They know this too, and they know where they need to be...They will catch up." he blinked, "What's important now...is getting you to where you need to be...and that's to Ballonlea...earning your 5th Gym Badge!" he flashed her a grin.
With Magenta eyes widened behind black half rimmed frames that slid down her nose, she felt her cheeks flush as she gulped.
"R-Right..." she said softly with a nod.
"Heh...good." he smirked while sliding her frames slowly back in place with his index finger, "...Let's go then."
This would be the first time really traveling far without Hop in tow...it was a strange feeling...
But whatever this weird squiggling of her insides was...or the reason for the heat rising to her cheeks...She didn't know much about...
But...
What she DID know was that...She didn't hate it.
