09/25/21: I rewrote the chapter, I didn't like the last one so read this chapter before continuing with chapter 2. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto and My Hero Academia.
Author Note: This is my first time writing anything plus English isn't my first language, so if there are any mistakes I would appreciate it if you pointed them out. I write this story in my free time so the update might be inconsistent, and I just couldn't get this out of my head so I decided to give it a try, so I wouldn't recommend you taking this story seriously and use it to read to pass the time or something. And with that enjoy the story.
On a war-torn battlefield, laid a man who was motionless, defeated, his dream shattered. To those who had participated in the fourth shinobi war, they would have pissed their pants from fear.
As the man was none other than Madara Uchiha, The Ghost of Uchiha, the self-proclaimed savior of the world. The man who wanted world peace but believed that the world and humanity were incapable of changing and would be stuck in a cycle of battle.
And so he began to plot his plan toward the ideal 'peace' that would replace the worthless reality that they are living in. The world of dreams of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, a powerful Genjutsu that would be placed on all of humanity. In it, they would experience the ideal 'world' in their dream and all conflict would cease to exist.
"I have failed... I couldn't change the world… peace was just an illusion..."
But, He was betrayed. The goal that he has meticulously planned for decades and countless sacrifices proved to be nothing more than an illusion created by Black Zetsu. He realized that he was nothing more than a pawn from the beginning.
"My dream is unfulfilled… I couldn't bring peace to the world…"
He could feel his strength leaving his body, as his time drew near. After being extracted from the Ten-Tails, he was exhausted even with his enhanced vitality from Hashirama's cell.
As he lay there motionless on the ground to reflect on his choices in the past. Depressed about his failure in fulfilling his dream. He heard footsteps closing in on him and eventually crouched next to him.
Although he could recognize the chakra, he still proceeded to ask.
"...Is that you… Hashirama?"
"Hmm." Hashirama looked sadly at his dying friend. Despite the conflict they just had, Hashirama still deeply considers Madara as his best friend.
Madara gathered what little strength he had left to speak with his friend, "I guess... neither you nor I… could achieve…what he wanted... in the end."
"It was never that easy!" Hashirama berated his friend for his pessimism and continued, "Our job is to do all we can while we are alive, and leave the rest for the future generation."
"So simplistic… as usual… heh heh…" Madara mustered all the strength he could to laugh at his best friend's naivety. But there was no contempt except there was only amusement.
"You were always...optimistic… but… perhaps… that was the… right way… My dream… was squashed… But... yours… still live on." Madara admitted the superiority of Hashirama's method for achieving peace.
"We were both too hasty... he didn't need to fulfill our dreams ourselves," Hashirama admitted and continued, "It was more important to nurture those who would come after us."
"Which means… I would have failed… anyway." Madara said and continued, "Since… I always… hated… having someone… standing behind me…"
Having lived a life full of conflicts and pains, led him to embrace his clan's curse of hatred. Black Zetsu took advantage of this to manipulate Madara.
Hashirama gave his friend a sad smile as he told his friend of their memories together to reconcile their bonds. "When we were kids… you once said 'we're shinobi, we never know when he might die. And for neither side to die, we both have to reveal our true intentions and pour each other drinks to toast like brothers." Hashirama smiled at his best friend and continued,
"But we're both about to die. Right now, we can drink as war buddies."
"..." Madara was at a loss for words at his best friend's words.
"War buddies… huh… well… I… guess… that's… okay… by…" He felt his strength leaving him before he could finish.
"You're right Hashirama, maybe if I have another chance I would have done it differently and try to believe in others more." he thought to himself before succumbing to the cold embrace of death.
The setting sun painted the sky in a beautiful red and orange.
In a bustling metropolitan, in a quiet and unremarkable alleyway, a boy was laying down on his back facing the sky. The boy was sleeping seemingly oblivious to his current location.
Suddenly the boy began to stir, and not long after his eyes opened, confusion was evident on his young face. "Where is this?... "
He could see towering buildings on both sides, casting a shadow over him and the bright orange sky in between.
"Didn't I die from exhaustion?"
He was sure that he was about to die from being extracted from the Juubi.
"An Edo Tensei...?" He thought of the reanimation technique but quickly crossed it out. He could feel his heart beating and blood flowing in his veins.
"I'm alive… but who would heal me?" he wondered as he didn't think there were many people that would want him alive.
He sat up and flexed his hands, "I feel like I just woke up from a long sleep but I'm extremely energized."
"Hmm?" He noticed that his hand is smaller and skinnier than before.
He stood up and saw that he was shorter too, "What happened?" he said as he examined this body.
He was still shirtless and only had his pants, bandaged shins and sandals. But that wasn't what caught his attention, his eyes were drawn to his left breast, "Where did it go?"
The face of Hashirama isn't there anymore. Although he could still feel the enormous chakra boost that it gave, all he could see was a normal breast.
He noticed a puddle next to him and went to look at this reflection, "I have gotten… younger?" He muttered out loud at the discovery, he found it a little hard to believe.
Instead of the face of a scary man that would make kids cry he found the face of a young boy in his mid-teens, a face that he could never forget.
It was his face when he was a teen, with shoulder chin-length spiky black hair that parted to frame the side of his creases under his eyes have become less pronounced, and his hair is shorter as it only reaches his neck now.
"A Genjutsu? Kai!" He released a burst of chakra but nothing changed. He frowned and began to survey his surroundings.
He could see that he was in an alleyway and could hear strange noises mixed with conversations coming from the street, which evidenced signs of activities. But strangely he couldn't feel any chakra at all although he could feel their presence.
"In any case, I need to find out if I could still use my Kekkei Genkais..." he said, still gazing into the puddle.
His black eyes suddenly turned red with a black pinwheel-like pattern appearing on the iris then turned completely purple with concentric circles.
"I still have access to the RInnegans, which is strange." As without Hashirama's cell, the Rinngan wouldn't be formed.
The Rinnegan required the chakra of both, the Uchiha and Senju, to combine. And the way that he obtained it was to transplant a piece of Hashirama's flesh that he bit off during their battle in the valley of the end, onto his left breast.
"Wood Release: Wood Clone Jutsu," he said as a wooden clone sprouted from his body.
He examined the clones and dismissed them after he was done. "The only way that could explain where it went to is that the flesh has merged with my body completely instead of being a surgical modification."
He turned to look at the top of the building and jumped up to the top. He walked to take a better view of where he was but was stunted.
"What are those strange contraptions moving around? I sense no chakra coming from them, so they are pure machines?" He saw metallic machines with wheels moving and thought, "Quite an impressive speed for civilians but nothing to a shinobi."
"Kekkei Genkais and so many?" He saw the busy street below filled with strange characteristics. They were walking out in broad daylight not afraid of being captured and being experimented on.
His eyebrows knit together, "How strange… I can't feel any chakra from them at all, even if they are civilians, but not having any spec of chakra is very strange…"
He closed his eyes and tried to sense natural chakra, he could feel it and tried to enter sage mode. It took him about 5 minutes to enter sage mode, red marking appeared on his face, one that looked exactly like Hashirama had when he entered sage mode.
He opened his eyes and expanded his senses in all directions to the limit.
"Not even a single spec of chakra in these people…" he said and exited sage mode, making the marking on his face disappear.
"Just what is this place? What brought me here?" Madara pondered as he sat down and watched the bustling street below him.
Then he saw a group of thugs enter the alleyway he had previously before and waited for something, he snuck up to eavesdrop on their conversations.
"Get ready boys, we only have 10 minutes to do this before a hero arrives." The one who said that was a tall muscular man, whom Madra presumed to be the leader.
"Got it, boss, I'll shoot everyone inside once we're in, grab everything, and make a run for it." The one who had long tubs on his fingers said with a mad smile.
"The truck is ready to go, you just need to give the signal." The fat one said in a confident tone.
"Hahaha! Once we're done with this, we'll be rich in a while!" They laughed thinking about their future.
Madara quietly stared at them and looked at the store they were eyeing, "A jewelry store… so robber huh," he figured out their intention and smiled darkly.
"This will save some time on gathering information." He thought and approached them silently.
He jumped down and landed soundlessly and began walking towards them. He could just sneak up on them and knock them unconscious but they wanted to see what the people of this world are capable of.
"Huh? Who's that kid?" They finally noticed him and the confusion on their face turned stern.
."Hey, did you hear what we just said?!" the boss asked in a threatening tone.
He couldn't let their plan be busted now, it would be a pain to get another opportunity like this.
"Yes, I know that you all are about to rob that jewelry store." Madara kept walking toward them with no hesitation.
"Well, that ain't good, you could have kept your life if you just minded your business kid." The boss said and signaled to his underlings, "Instead you tried to be a hero, Get him!"
Three underlings began walking toward him and activated their quirks.
"Eight in total, I should hold back somewhat," if he defeated them too early then it would defeat the purpose of him showing himself as he wanted to see what they could do.
"All right kid, you shouldn't come to play in these kind places." The thug in the middle said, long and sharp bone spikes extended from the tip of his fingers.
The other one on his left has two horns pointed upward that have sparks of electricity flashing between them.
The right one has rock-like skins and a bulk figure.
"Bone extending, lightning, and rock skin Kekkei Genkai?" Madara was disappointed, he was expecting something more extraordinary.
After they were in front of him the one with the horns suddenly sent a bolt of electricity at him, which Madara dodged with ease.
This surprised them as they weren't expecting him to dodge that attack, suddenly they got serious and attacked him all at once.
The horns one started charging leaving the other two to rush him in close range. The one with the bones swiped at him, intending to slice him but Madara ducked under him. Seeing this the rock one slammed his fist at Madara, to which Madara just moved his body to avoid making a small crater on the ground as the first landed.
After he stood back up he was greeted with a bolt of electricity aimed at his face, he just tilted his head to avoid it. This continued for a bit and Madara got bored.
"How disappointing. They lacked the skills necessary to wield their abilities, they probably couldn't even beat a team of genins." As Madara thought this, the boss finally got impatient and called out to the other thugs,
"What the hell are you doing?! We are running out of time! Go finish him!"
The other thugs rushed in and tried to attack Madara, but unfortunately, their efforts were in vain as they couldn't even touch him.
"Time to wrap this up, this fight is bound to attract attention." Madara began attacking them, and soon after there were bodies of unconscious thugs all around him.
The boss's eyes widened at this as he saw all of what happened, "What the hell is that kid?! He dodged all of their attacks and when he attacked, all of them were taken down in one hit!" He thought fearfully at the boy in front of him.
"I need to run away fast!" But before he could even turn his body around he suddenly saw a palm appearing in front of his face and grabbed onto his face, He suddenly couldn't move his body.
"Wha-what happened?! Why is this kid so fast?! Why can't I move my body?!"
"Time to know where this place is." Madara said as his Rinnegans were glowing in an ominous purple light.
Madara pulled out an ethereal-looking form from the man's face and once he was done, the man's body fell to the ground with a quiet thud. He used one of the six paths abilities of the Rinnegan, the human path, to read the man's mind.
But the process requires ripping the soul of the victim from their body, making it an instant kill ability. But Madara didn't bat an eye to killing the man.
Madara closed his eyes to process the large amount of information.
After he opened his eyes, and he muttered, "So, I'm in another world…" he showed no emotion on his face but he felt conflicted on the inside.
One part of him wanted to go back to the elemental nations but the other part of him chose to believe in Hashirama's words and leave it to the next generation to achieve peace for them.
He stood silently for a while, he finally made up his mind and took a deep breath, "I shall believe in Hashirama's word and believe in Naruto and Sasuke."
"Now then, I shall need more information to prepare to live in this new world." He said darkly and turned to the other unconscious bodies.
Shortly later he was done and swiftly left the area. After he left for a few minutes police cars stopped at both entrances of the alley.
After he got far away enough from the alley, He decided to stop at a rooftop and sat down at the edge.
"What brought me here? How did I get younger?" He questioned but didn't receive an answer.
He looked at the city, lights were shining and its beauty was comparable to that of the stars in the night sky.
"And for what purpose?..." He questioned and again, received no answer.
He pushed those questions to the back of his mind and decided to focus on the world he was in right now. He found out a lot of interesting and useful information.
"First off, this world doesn't have shinobi and chakra but they have heroes and quirks instead," although some are quite useless in combat, there are those who caught his attention.
"This 'All Might' sounds interesting." Madara said with a dark smile.
"This world has no ongoing conflict between nations and they don't allow child soldiers, which shows how much this world's more peaceful than the elemental nations..." Of course, this world wasn't completely peaceful as there are villains running around causing terror and chaos.
But since this 'All Might' came around, the crime rate dropped drastically. Which earned him the title of 'The Symbol of Peace', he had become a deterrent to most villains.
"Hmm?" The corner of his eyes caught something when he was lost in thought.
He saw a convenience store being cornered by a group of people, they were wrecking the store and were about to escape.
He stared at them for a bit then looked away but not long after,
"Tch, fine." against his own pessimism about human nature, he decided to help the girl. Although Madara appears to be a cold, ruthless person, he shows no mercy even to his own clansmen in order to complete his plan.
Deep down he has a kind heart, he just was corrupted from the overwhelming pain of his brother's death which ended up leading him to pursue the 'peace' he desired for the world, a world free of pain and conflict.
But as he decided to leave the elemental nations to the next generation, and as he was in another world he could try to change somewhat.
"I'll use this chance to make up for my past actions… " He stood up and vanished.
He arrived and stood in their way, blocking their van.
"Why don't you just surrender and I might let off with no lasting damages." Madara crossed his arms and looked at them with his black orbs.
"Like I said, my name is Madara Uchiha." Madara said to the police officer in front of him who looked at him in frustration.
"Look kid, I need you to tell me the truth, there is no such name in our database." The officer in front of him looked like he was about to blow up.
"Of Course, there aren't." Madara thought and didn't reply.
"If they keep wasting my time, I need to consider breaking out, even if it gets me on the wanted list." he was annoyed as he was kept here for two hours now.
"Can't they just let me off, I stopped robbers from robbing a store for crying out loud." he was annoyed inwardly but he showed no emotion on his face.
"This is what I get for helping others out…" Madara was annoyed, he helped out the store owner to stop the robbers. But now all he got was getting sent to the police station.
The officer saw his nonchalant and was about to shout at him but another person grabbed on his shoulder.
"How about I take it from here." he was a tall man with short, black hair and somewhat rectangular black eyes.
"Ah!, then I'll leave him in your hands." The officer said as he walked out of the room.
The man sat down in front of Madara and took out a notebook, "Hello there, My name is Naomasa Tsukauchi, I'm a detective."
"Madara Uchiha." Madara said bluntly and stared at the man in front of him.
Naomasa began writing something in his notebook, "How old are you?"
"...I don't know." This made Naomasa look at him in confusion.
"Can you explain?"
"I was kept in a dark cavern for a long time…I only found myself waking up in an alley this evening." Madara told him the truth mixed with lies to make it look convincing.
Naomasa put down his pen and looked at Madara with a serious face, "So do you remember any family so we could contact them?"
"I'm the only one who's alive from my family…" Naomasa eyes widen and asked,
"...Can you remember who put you there and what they did to you?"
"No I don't remember who it was but I remember what they did to me... They performed surgery on me and everything blacked out..." Madara said his improvised version of the story.
"..." Naomasa was silent after he heard this, "An illegal experimentation? But why would they just leave him in an alley afterward?" he thought but,
"This needs a more serious investigation, but I need to figure what to do with the kid first…"
"Alright enough about that for now, what about your quirks?" Naomasa tried to change the subject.
"I remembered that I could control a type of energy in my body to create different effects." Madara gave a very simplified explanation of Chakra. The thing that every shinobi in his world knows about, he wanted to gain their trust so they wouldn't press too hard on him.
"Can you show me a demonstration?" Right after he asked the question, Suddenly there were knocks coming from the door, "Come in." Naomasa answered.
The door opened revealing a woman, she wore tight and thin clothes which show off her voluptuous figure. She has long spiky purple hair with a red mask outlining her sky blue eyes.
"What are you doing here, Ms. Midnight?" Naomasa questioned the hero.
Madara recognized her as the hero that arrived shortly after he defeated those villains. The reason he let himself be taken to the police station was that he didn't want to be considered a wanted vigilante, but now he was seriously considering breaking out of here.
"I'm here to check on the boy." She said as her eyes fell on Madara and continued, "What kept him here for so long? It shouldn't take that long to write a report."
"Well, things have turned a bit problematic... " Naomasa said with a bitter smile.
"Ohh? Care to tell?" she said in a flirtatious voice.
"The thing is, we couldn't find anything on him. It's as if he just popped into existence." he continued, "Plus he could be a runaway guinea pig from an illegal experiment. He also doesn't know how long he was held captive too."
He turned to see that Madara gave no reaction to their conversation whatsoever.
Midnight's eyes widened and asked, "Do you think he's lying?"
Naomasa shook his head, "I don't think he is lying, I'm quite confident in my ability to detect lies and if he did lie then he would be extremely good at it. Plus he's just a kid, I don't think he has the necessary skills to do it."
"Hmph, what kind of shinobi would allow others to tell if they're lying." His shinobi side was a bit offended by that.
"Then what do you plan to do with him? As he doesn't have guardians for him to be taken to." Midnight asked, looking a bit worried about the boy's future.
"I would have sent him off with a light scolding but, now that there's a possibility that he has some connection to a dangerous villain," he paused, causing Midnight to now really worried about the boy future but Naomasa continued,
"He will be placed under house arrest until he is deemed to be safe to go back into society." he turned his eyes to Midnight, "But we can't place him in an ordinary orphanage, I'm planning to place him in a juvenile facility."
Madara heard this and almost let his chakra lose and knocked everyone out and escaped, "Damnit, so this is how I get rewarded!" Madara was about to put his thought into action but he wasn't showing anysigns of it outwardly.
Midnight's eyes were shot wide open, "But he saved a store and stopped a bunch of villains. He can't be that bad if he's willing to help others and agrees to come to the police station, despite his situation!"
"But we can't have him around ordinary civilians and risk the villains to come and cause more damage if they wanted to get him," Naomasa said calmly.
Midnight was conflicted, "This boy was heroic enough to step up and help people, despite being held captive by villains for who knows how long, and he didn't resist the police which made him as someone who could be reasoned with, with some guiding he could become a hero too!"
Just as Madara was about to knead his chakra, Midnight said abruptly, "If all you need to do is get him a guardian who doesn't need to worry about a hero attack, then I'll take him with me."
This caused Naomasa eyes to widen and Madara raised an eyebrow,
"Are you sure you know what you're saying?" Naomasa asked in surprise.
"Yes, although I admit that I'm not the best role model out there, I couldn't just leave the boy to suffer when he saved people and has the quality to be a hero! Plus those villains weren't wounded too badly too, they only had some broken bones." Midnight with determination in her eyes.
Madara widened his eyes at her, "Aren't she making her decision too suddenly?... Could it be a trap?"
Naomasa was quiet for a while before sighing, "Fine, but you have to get the paperwork done by next week."
Midnight smiled at that and looked at Madara, "You heard him handsome, you're going to be staying at my place… aren't your teenage body excited?" she said in a very flirtatious voice causing Naomasa to shout at her,
"Midnight!" causing her to laugh at him. Madra just stared incredulously at her.
Midnight walked to the door and turned back to Madara, "Well, what are you waiting for? Come on!"
"..." Madara just stared at her before sighing and walked with her to the exit.
By the time Madara left the station, it was already quite late. After a while of walking later, they arrived at her apartment. After getting inside, He could see that it was quite big.
"Welcome to my home Madara! You can take the other empty room next to mine and I know that youths are full of energy but try not to snoop around too much." she said in a seductive tone.
"Do you live alone here?" But Madara didn't fall for it and asked, He saw that it was quiet and had some dust in some places.
"I'm busy with my duties with both as a hero and as a teacher, so I really get to come back home." She nodded and continued, "That means you could have a lot of time alone to enjoy yourself."
Again, Madara just ignored her tone and scanned the apartment every nook and cranny.
"My, you're such a quiet one but that's fine, I like your type as well." She licked her lips.
"I feel like I just landed myself with someone troublesome…" he sighed.
"By the way, when I'm not in my hero duty call me Nemuri and likewise call me Midnight when I'm on duty." to which Madara replied, "Hmnn."
After having dinner they retired to their bedrooms and rested for the day.
"What will I do now?" with that thought he slept for the night.
The next morning, he woke up early and saw that Nemuri was still sleeping, so he decided to make breakfast with whatever was in the fridge.
After it was finished he went to wake her up, "Oh? You made breakfast too, how nice of you.'' She gave him a thumbs up and smiled.
After they finished, he asked her, "Hey Nemuri, can you teach me about the world? I've never gone to school so I want to learn."
Nemuri wasn't surprised by his lack of knowledge but was surprised at his sudden request.
"Are you sure? Don't you want to rest first after all that you have been through?"
"No, I'm fine and I'd rather spend my time doing something beneficial and try not to leech off you too much."
"How thoughtful of you to care about that stuff, I don't have time to teach you myself, and you can't go to a regular school yet, so you have to be homeschooled."
Then suddenly there was breaking news on the T.V about a group of people being found dead in an alleyway. Madara heard this but ignored it as if it didn't have anything to do with it.
-x-
Ten months later.
"Are you ready? Let's go!" Midnight in her hero costume shouted from the door.
"What's with the hurry? If you want to, you can go by yourself first." Madara walked out of his room.
"We're going to the same place anyway, stop complaining and get a move one!" Midnight shot back.
"What a pain…" Madara muttered and soon they were on the road.
Madara was going to U.A. to take the entrance exam, in the ten months since he arrived he had learned many things and was accustomed to living in this world. His relationship with Nemuri has gotten better after all the time they spent living together.
After a while, they arrived at the school. Midnight turned to Madara and said,
"This is where we part ways, I'm sure you will do well in the exam but I'm still gonna say it," she paused and continued,
"Do your best! I'll be cheering you on."
"Thanks for the encouragement." he simply replied and crossed the gate of the school.
She watched his figure moving away and thought, "Although you may appear cold and sometimes pessimistic, deep down you're actually a good person."
"It took a while before you could open up, we got close enough for me to consider you a little brother." She smiled.
"I believe you can become a splendid hero, Madara." She paused and began to laugh, "I still remember the time that I needed to teach you how to use electronic devices and explain to you what the internet is, and you are a teenager!"
She shook her head and head inside too.
