Dinner Date

As the acting Grandmaster, she was always too busy for her own good. Between all the paperwork that Lisa would not help her with, and the matter of the defence of Mondstadt, she was kept forever running around. While she loved her work, the city, and everyone within, it was never ending, and certainly took a toll on her mentally. Even so, she surprised even herself when she accepted his first invitation to dine.

That initial dinner, at his family estate, had been a beautiful break; and before she knew it, she had gone back thrice. Almost like clockwork, he started to invite her to dine every week, something she secretly began to look forward to with mild anticipation. To the point that today, she had taken care to dress up for the occasion. Instead of her usual clothes, which made it easy to move around during her duties as the acting Grandmaster, she chose a more feminine, pale blue dress that complemented a more flowing hairstyle.

As she hopped off the carriage that took her to the Ragnvindr estate, she suddenly grew incredibly self conscious. Why did she think it was a good idea to ask Barbara for help with this? The swishing of the dress really messed with her walking, and it was only after twenty minutes of aimlessly wandering the front gardens that she finally felt comfortable enough to approach the main doors.

Even before she reached the entrance, the head housemaid, Adelinde, opened them as if expecting her. Immediately, Jean knew that they must have all seen her stalking around the grounds attempting to practice walking in these unfamiliar clothes. Head held high, and her eyes fixed decidedly away from the head maid, she ignored the smirk of the older girl and walked into the estate; she just hoped that Diluc did not see her practising.

Almost as if answering her question, Adelinde greeted her. "Good evening, acting Grandmaster, Masture Diluc has been watching you for the past half an hour."

Normally Jean was on very friendly terms with Adelinde, but today, she could only narrow her eyes at the latter. Just as quickly though, her stress faded as she was once again surrounded by the comfortable setting of the winery. Since she had become a regular visitor, the well-maintained halls of the manor had become almost like a second home, where Diluc and her would often stroll around aimlessly after supper, and discuss the most minute or grandiose ideas. With an apologetic smile, she slowly made her way way along the familiar path to the dining room.

Upon entering the room, she found the owner himself standing right inside the door, with a small box open in his hand on which lay the most beautiful crystal pendant.

"S... sir?"

Diluc merely looked at her, his eyes feeling like they were piercing into her very soul. "I am not your superior anymore, and you know very well what I mean, Jean. You work so hard to take care of everyone, for every single being in Mondstadt. So -" His usually cool smile slowly melted into a tender one reserved only for her as the soft hues of the fireplace reflected off his face,

"So please, let me take care of you."
