Chapter 11: Erik Sacks

Erik Sacks smiled as he examined the creature in front of him.

It was such a beauty, an example of what modern science and alien substances could do. He had just arrived on behalf of Agent Bishop, who looked much better than the turtle did.

"Put up a fight, didn't he?"

The android just glared as he sat down. Erik Sacks turned around and watched as the lab workers took their initial samples of blood and tissue. He licked his lips anxiously, fighting the wolfish grin that tried to work his way onto his countenance. Sacks could see the future spread out before him like a golden road, and he could see all the possibilities. All the opportunities.

All the riches that could come about this.

"Didn't expect the Hamatos to fight so hard." Bishop said through his half-destroyed voice box.

"Looks like they did." Sacks examined the android with a raised eyebrow. "Let me guess: it was the hot-headed brother, the one with the oversized salad tongs that did that to you?"

"Indeed."

Sacks couldn't help but laugh. "Those children were too much for you? They're nothing but kids playing hero."

"'Those kids playing hero' were trained by the best martial artists money and prestige could get. And since they fought for that thing," he gestured to the turtle that was on the table with disgust, "you can bet that they'll be looking for it hard and if they come for you, you'd better be prepared."

"Then maybe we need to get out of the city. As a precaution. If that will soothe your motherboard."

Sacks could barely hold back the laugh that bubbled up underneath his strong countenance, turning his attention towards the specimen that was being moved into a large glass box. He was put in restraints, quickly secured with cuffs around his ankles and wrists. After a second thought, Sacks ordered a muzzle to be placed over the mutant's mouth.

He glanced at his watch. "We're running behind schedule. I want all of this moved to the transport and out of New York by nightfall. We need to stay one step ahead of the Hamatos."

"Yes sir."

"You coming Bishop?"

The android shook his head. "No. I'll see you off but then I'm going to hunker down somewhere."

"Well, good luck with that." Sacks said, and for the first time in a long time, he genuinely meant it. The android nodded in thanks before standing, making his way towards the door. Sacks watched him go, turning around when he disappeared behind a corner. He turned back around to the work being done.

"Let's go!"

The workers moved faster.

AN: Sorry this wasn't as strong. It's been kinda hectic around here.
