Chapter 3 – Pump up the Bassline
-:-:-:-:-:-
The next day, Willie took them to the arcade as promised, and while Luke loved the lights and sounds and cheesiness of it all, he knew Reggie was a bit skittish from all the noise, though thankfully there wasn't a huge afterschool rush since it was only Tuesday. Still, Reggie was tense, so Luke kept an arm wrapped around the bassist's waist when he could, holding him close because Reggie like him when it came to physical affection. As in, the more the better.
Willie continued to prove to be the coolest person Luke knew by not giving a damn about it. If anything, he seemed to find the entire exchange endearing, and had waved Luke off the one time he'd tried to explain it when the two of them were waiting for Reggie to exit the bathroom.
"Dude, it's cool, I get it," Willie soothed, ruffling Luke's messy hair. "He's your bro and you care for him a lot."
"I do," Luke said, a warm feeling building in his chest. "It's just- his parents are kind of shitty, and he deserves a lot better. So, you know – family of choice and all that."
"It's… that's great," Willie said, and there was something in his eyes, something that reminded Luke of Alex actually, but it was there and gone in an instant, and almost immediately forgotten by the time Reggie returned to them.
"He really doesn't mind?" Reggie asked the one time they sat back and watched Willie bust out some surprisingly awesome basketball skills at the hoop shooting game or whatever it was. "I mean, I'm not too uh- clingy?"
There was a fine line between speaking over the din of arcade games and still being quiet enough to keep their conversation private, so it was no surprise that Willie paused his efforts to shoot Reggie a wink. "You're just the right amount of clingy, cutie pie."
"Wilbert," Luke groaned, but he wasn't actually upset, not when he made Reggie's face go all flushed like that, the bassist turning to hide his face in the shelter of Luke's shoulder.
As if the afternoon was not already good enough, Willie got both of them little Lego keychains with the tickets he won, and Luke insisted on buying them film strips from the photo booth to commemorate the occasion even though they all had perfectly good phones.
"Just pretend it's like the nineties," Luke informed a cackling Willie, and Luke would admit, it was nice to have something physical to hold onto, something he could put into his autobiography when they were huge rockstars.
They dined on mediocre pizza from the café in yet another corner booth before Willie dropped them off at home, the skater ravishing Luke's mouth before leaning over and pressing a kiss against Reggie's cheek, something that made the bassist release a small squeak.
"Tease," Luke laughed, but he kissed Willie again anyway, so he couldn't complain all that much.
Reggie stayed over again that night, and to make it up to his mother, they actually joined Luke's parents for dinner and took care of the dishes before tackling their homework in the living room, and Luke's mom was so pleased by his open productivity that she didn't complain about Reggie staying over once more.
The next day, Willie was kind enough to drive them near Reggie's house so they could do a quick stealth mission and pick up more of the bassist's clothing. When he didn't ask them about it, or Reggie's parents, or the slightly rundown state of his house, Luke leaned over the console to drag Willie into a few deep kisses, because even if their relationship wasn't serious at all, he was proving to be a pretty standup guy.
That afternoon, they ended up chilling at the skatepark – Willie showing off his tricks while Luke and Reggie commandeered one of the picnic tables, the two of them working on songs between showering Willie with rounds of applause when he pulled off a hard stunt.
"Look," Luke began halfway through their efforts. "I wouldn't be too worried about tomorrow. Bobby's been taking this time to readjust so he can do this the right way. He's just getting in the right mental space."
Reggie, who'd been in the middle of jotting something down, aimed a confused glance Luke's way. "Um- what?"
"Bobby," Luke reminded him, and he got that it was sort of a non sequitur because they'd been making efforts not to talk about the rest of their band for the past few days. "Tomorrow, when we have rehearsal. Don't be nervous."
Reggie considered this with a pinched expression, his lips pressed together tight. "Luke, I uh- I'll be honest, I don't think he's going to be over you in three days."
"Don't be crazy, Reg, I'm not that good at kissing," Luke said, giving the bassist's shoulder a light nudge.
Maybe Bobby wasn't the most outgoing person in the world, but he wasn't socially awkward enough that he wouldn't be able to adjust to life without Luke as his fake boyfriend. Now that Luke had time to think about it, they really had been crutches for each other, a place of safety. Neither one of them had to worry about romance because they had each other, and yeah, it was a little daunting to be without that, but Luke had practically served Reggie up to Bobby on a silver platter.
If Bobby was still dragging his feet on Thursday… well, there wasn't much Luke could do about it except hope Julie would give the rhythm guitarist a wakeup call. Luke would normally do it himself, but if he was the one causing issues in the first place, maybe it would be more effective to hear it from someone else.
"I uh- wouldn't know," Reggie said, letting out a strained, nervous laugh. "But I think he'll need more time."
"Well, when he is ready, I wouldn't sweat it," Luke said, deciding to compromise.
Their Thursday rehearsal was a bit more strained than usual, but they got through it, reviewing their stuff enough times to iron out the rough spots. They were late-night gig ready, at least – nothing to wow anyone from a record label but good enough to get them paid. They'd start working on new songs next week, after they'd gotten their groove back.
One thing was for sure though, it seemed like Reggie was right about Bobby still needing time to adjust. He was obviously taking the loss of his romantic crutch a lot harder than Luke had anticipated, but he tried not to judge. Like, Luke had moved on, but he'd also moved onto a relationship that was admittedly just for laughs. When Bobby moved on it would be for real, and that was probably intimidating. It made Luke ache to think that he couldn't just cuddle the rhythm guitarist better, but they both had to be strong, both had to stand on their own two feet.
Oh, hey, that was a good song idea. He made a note to revisit it later.
Luke turned his attention to Reggie as they packed up their stuff, Alex lingering behind for once, taking his time instead of sprinting out the door like he usually did.
"So," Luke said, catching Reggie's attention. "You wanna stay here, or do you want to come to the skatepark with me?"
Reggie paused, clearly not expecting the offer, and Luke passed over his phone, the device lit up with the text from Willie that already confirmed the skater was cool with Luke bringing Reggie with him whenever he wanted to.
"I… I'll go with you," Reggie decided, not catching the way Bobby tensed from where he was straightening up the couch.
Ah, so he did have romantic aspirations. But they still needed to take root.
Well, it wasn't like Reggie was going anywhere. They had time.
"Cool," Luke said, clapping him on the shoulder before they walked out to meet Willie, who was already waiting for them at the curb.
"Rebound," Willie greeted Luke, leaning over to trade an obnoxious kiss. "Stud," he offered Reggie when he climbed into the backseat.
"Flirt," Luke laughed, knocking Willie's shoulder before immediately fiddling with his radio station. The guy always had it on polka for some reason, and Luke was beginning to suspect that it was entirely to annoy Luke.
"For you two? Sure," Willie hummed, and then they were out on the road, heading to pick up street dogs and chill at the park before Luke would take Reggie home with him.
It was the perfect ending to a solid day, and Luke tried not to get complacent, but he was grateful for it. For all if it. He had a rebound and his band and his best bro safe, and that was more than enough for him.
-:-:-:-:-:-
Their Friday night gig was electric, but that was mostly because Luke made a habit of abandoning any and all personal issues when he performed. The moment he hit the stage it was all about the music, about performing and taking the crowd on a journey, riding the rush of their cheers and applause. He didn't share the mic with Bobby as much as he used to, but Reggie seemed more than happy to make up for it, bouncing around and embracing the high of their performance until they were finally done for the night. It probably helped that he hadn't been home all week, the bassist more or less living in Luke's bedroom.
Luke's mom would have probably started making noises about it were it not for the way Luke had tried to mitigate her anger by actually being timely with his chores and shit, doing his homework and washing dishes and at least pretending to listen to his dad when he started talking about colleges. Luke didn't actually have to care, he could just fake it, and for Reggie, he was more than happy to do so.
"Oh man, that was awesome," Reggie gushed as they finished loading the back of Bobby's van, all of them still hyped up on adrenaline. "What's the plan?"
"I think The Phantoms are crashing over at Julie's place," Luke said. He'd checked Flynn's feed before they'd left the greenroom. Julie's band had a gig across town, and Luke had tried to promote it as much as possible, always happy to support their fellow musicians. "They probably wouldn't mind if we dropped by."
"You don't have plans with your rebound?" Bobby asked somewhat grumpily, not really looking at them while he settled the amps into place.
Weird tone, but whatever, he was probably just tired. He seemed to be getting steadily under the weather.
"Not tonight," Luke said, realizing that he hadn't really thought about Willie that day beyond their usual fun text exchanges. He'd been too focused on their show.
"I'm surprised he didn't come," Alex murmured, and it seemed more like… a hint, maybe? Like he was fishing for information, but it was Alex, so he wasn't that good at it.
Luke decided not to dwell on it.
"He's not that type of rebound," Luke said lazily, waving them off. To be honest, Luke hadn't even thought about inviting Willie to the gig. It felt- he didn't know, embarrassing? Maybe showboat-y. It just didn't seem like they were in that place yet. "Do you guys want to go back to the studio?" He turned to Alex. "Or do you need to-"
"I um- should probably go home," Alex said, hands twisting in the hem of his sweatshirt.
"I don't think I'm up for hanging out," Bobby said, his tone still weird.
Luke really needed to talk to Julie. Someone needed to figure out where Bobby's head was at.
"That's fine, you guys rest up," Luke said, since neither one of them looked great. "Reg?"
He held his hand out to the bassist, who, after a beat, took it with a small flush. "I can- would it be okay if I spent the night again?"
"We should be fine," Luke said, giving his fingers a squeeze while he messaged Willie to let him know their gig was over.
They were just about to load into the van when he got another message.
"Hold up, change of plans," Luke said, tugging Reggie back towards the front of the club. "You guys go on without us."
"Luke, it's late," Alex said, his voice tight with worry. "You guys shouldn't be walking anywhere."
"We've got a ride!" Luke assured the blond. "I'll text you when we're safe, okay?"
He didn't wait for a response before moving onward, smiling when he caught sight of Willie's car around the front of the club.
"Wilbert, my love," Luke greeted, coaxing Reggie into the passenger's seat because it only made sense for them to take turns. He didn't like the idea of Reggie being left alone in the back all the time. It was okay, though, it allowed Luke to lean forward into the front so he could trade obnoxious kisses with Willie. "What did you have in mind?"
"Lucas, my heart," Willie hummed, grinning into the kiss before he pressed his lips against Reggie's knuckles. "Stud," he greeted with a wink. "I was thinking we could go back to my place for movies and pizza."
"You really know how to show a guy a good time," Luke hummed, ruffling Reggie's hair before he settled into the backseat with a grin.
He texted Alex when they got to Willie's place as promised, then tried not to gape because Willie's place was nice. Like, California mansion nice.
"Please tell me you live here and we aren't breaking and entering," Luke said as he stared at the property with wide eyes. "People with this much money could make us go to Juvie for a long time."
Willie laughed at him. "Relax, care bear, this space is more mine than anyone else's since my dad's hardly here."
"Baby," Luke said, abandoning his investigation to drag Willie into a tight hug the skater hadn't been expecting. He came with a squawk, but Luke ignored that, hugging Willie close. "I'm so sorry, man. Bobby's parents are like that too – it fucking sucks."
It was why Bobby more or less lived with his grandparents – Gran and Pops acting as guardians in all but name.
Willie tensed for a moment before hesitantly relaxing into Luke's hold. "This the same Bobby you're gonna set Reggie up with?"
"One day," Luke said, taking the change of subject as it was. He was probably crossing 'fun fling' boundaries, so he pulled away, throwing an arm around Reggie's shoulders. "When he wraps his head around the concept of romance."
Reggie sighed. "It's really not going to happen," he informed Willie. "Bobby's hung up on Luke."
"He is not," Luke sighed. "If anything, he's hung up on the comfort our routine produced. He's being all Alex-y right now – taking change way too hard."
"Wait, I want to hear more about this," Willie said as he waved them inside his obnoxiously large kitchen. "What routine did you have with Bobby?"
"They used to date," Reggie informed him.
"Fake date," Luke corrected. "We pretend dated for the sake of his grandparents, but we had fun so we just kept doing it."
"Until recently?" Willie hazarded, raising a brow as he pulled open what seemed to be one of a couple fridges, motioning for the guys to take what they wanted from a shelf full of bottled sodas while he messed with his phone, likely ordering pizza.
"Yep," Luke said, grabbing a Cherry Coke for Reggie and a Ginger Ale for himself.
"If you were both having a good time, why'd you break up?" Willie asked, grinning as he watched Luke point to each of the different sodas, finally nodding when he got to an orange Fanta that Luke grabbed up for him.
"Because it was time for real romance," Luke said. "For him. For me, it was time for messy, messy rebounds."
"Sounds like I got to win that exchange," Willie hummed, still fiddling with his phone while he nodded them deeper into the house.
"At this rate, everyone but Bobby is winning," Luke sighed. "I kind of just want to grab him by his shoulders and shake him, but he's pissed at me for throwing off his funky fresh flow or whatever, so we're just in a weird holding pattern until he comes to term with things."
"What if he doesn't?" Reggie asked when Willie led them into some sort of fancy den.
Luke paused at the tightness in his voice, realizing that this was something Reggie had likely been worried about all week.
They couldn't make Bobby be ready for real romance, couldn't make him trust himself to allow a shot at the real thing. In the end, if Bobby wasn't prepared for that kind of commitment, Reggie was still on the outs by himself, which totally sucked. He deserved way more. Luke had meant what he said about Reggie being amazing – the entire band was amazing; they just didn't seem to understand that.
He felt kind of crummy for not thinking of his possibility, but once again, Willie swooped in and saved the day with an easy shrug.
"Then you can just date us," Willie said, motioning them over towards a big, squishy couch. "We've pretty much got that nailed down anyway. It'll just throw in the added benefit of kissing."
"Can three guys date?" Luke asked, because he was pretty sure that wasn't a thing.
Willie gave another shrug. "They can if they're all cool with it," Willie decided. "I mean – why not? We're already weirdos."
"That is admittedly true," Luke mused, pressing his lips together in thought. "Dude, that's a great idea!" He turned to face Reggie, barely keeping his excitement in check. "I mean- do you- would you be okay with that?"
"I- yeah," Reggie said, blinking in surprise. "But you um- you don't have to-"
Luke interrupted him by dragging him into a hug, taking the opportunity to press a kiss against his cheek before dropping another one against his shoulder.
"Of course we want to, boo," Luke hummed, nuzzling Reggie's shoulder. "The three of us can have fun dating times, and if Bobby ever gets his head out of his ass- great, but if not, we can still have fun." Luke pulled back, shooting Reggie a wink. "That work for you?"
"Very much," Reggie said, his voice tight for some reason.
It was enough to have Luke urging the bassist to break into his drink. It was important to be hydrated, even if like, they should be drinking water or Gatorade or something healthier than soda.
They settled down on the couch, Luke and Willie deciding to keep Reggie in the middle since he was the newest addition to their relationship. The couch was squishy enough that he could wrap an arm around Reggie's waist without making either of them uncomfortable, and Willie wrapped an easy arm around Reggie's shoulders, the three of them cuddling close.
"This good?" Willie asked, carding a hand through Reggie's hair.
"Y-Yeah," Reggie said, his cheeks dusted in a cute flush that obviously Luke had to kiss. It was like, required.
They killed time scrolling through Netflix and Disney+ while they waited for the pizza to arrive, and settled on re-watching the animated Clone Wars series (or in Willie's case, watching it for the first time) while they ate. It was easy and fun, sort of exactly how things would have gone if they'd ended up crashing at the studio, except with slightly more nuzzling.
It was nice. Alex had been getting a little touchy about personal space recently, and Luke missed cuddling with him. Missed camping out in Bobby's lap and demanding kisses from him, but with Reggie and Willie, things were simple. Luke could run his hand down Reggie's side or give his thigh a few comforting pets, could crane his neck and trade kisses with Willie when Reggie was getting a drink of soda. He could pinch Willie's hip and exchange winks and rest his chin on Reggie's shoulder, murmuring quiet commentary that supported the theories he knew Reggie had.
"So," Luke hummed when the food and sodas were all done, turning to look at Reggie properly, his chin still resting on the bassist's shoulder, bringing their faces close like when they were sharing the mic. "You down for another episode, or-"
Reggie surged forward, interrupting Luke's question with a fumbled kiss. It was a little awkward and Reggie seemed to get that, if the tension in his body was any indication, but once Luke got past the shock of it all, he gladly melted into the contact, bracing a hand against Reggie's jaw so he could deepen the kiss properly.
Oh man, they should have thought of this forever ago. Reggie was a great kisser. Once he let himself get into it he seemed sweet and eager, whining into Luke's mouth, which probably gave his ego way too big a boost but Luke could keep it in check for Reggie's sake.
"Aw, baby," Luke said when Reggie pulled back, the singer sharing a grin with Willie before he dragged Reggie into his lap, allowing the bassist to straddle his thighs, the two of them facing each other. "You should have just said you wanted kisses."
Reggie shuddered, Luke's words seeming to wash over him like a physical thing. "I um- I want kisses."
"Then you'll get them, sweet cheeks," Willie hummed, sliding in close and bracing a hand against Reggie's jaw. "That is, if you want them? I realize we don't know each other that well."
"N-No, I-" Reggie flushed. "We can-"
Willie silenced him with a kiss Reggie sighed into, something that had Luke rubbing a hand up Reggie's side, feeling a small thrill at the way Reggie trembled. Yeah, this was- it was very good. The picture the two of them presented was just- Bobby was missing out, was Luke's point. The thought made him a little sad, so he shoved it away, focusing instead on pressing kisses to the curve or Reggie's neck, licking and sucking at the sensitive point under his jaw that used to drive Bobby crazy.
Reggie broke apart from Willie with a gasp. "Luke."
"Yes, baby?" Luke asked, letting the hand he had settled on Reggie's waist slide down to cup his butt, because maybe he'd always wondered how it might feel, and yeah, that was a nice handful.
Reggie's head fell back with a moan, his flush darkening when Willie started doting on the other side of his neck.
"Is this okay?" Luke asked when Reggie continued to whine. "Do we need to slow down?"
"N-No." Reggie shook his head. "But um- I…"
His hips gave a small shake, dropping Luke's gaze between his legs where a new problem made itself known, a distinct bulge pressing against the fly of Reggie's pants.
Oh, that was- yeah, Luke was definitely feeling warm now.
"Want me to take care of that?" Luke asked, his pulse beginning to thunder in his ears. He'd never really gotten past rutting with Bobby. Luke had offered once, but Bobby had seemed too embarrassed, so Luke hadn't mentioned it again. He figured the rhythm guitarist could bring it up if he ever wanted to, but apparently he never had. Which made sense, since they hadn't really dated.
Except Bobby had thought they were, so maybe- well, who knew.
Reggie let out a small noise Luke could only classify as needy.
"Please?" Reggie asked, his tone hopeful, breathless.
Yeah, that was going straight to Luke's dick. That was- Reggie was like, sex incarnate, which Luke was not at all surprised by.
"Okay," Luke said, checking in with Willie. The skater gave him a thoughtful look, then repositioned himself, turning to press his back against the arm of the couch. He opened his legs, and motioned for Luke to pass Reggie over.
Between the two of them, they got Reggie settled between his legs, the bassist's back to Willie's chest.
"This okay?" Willie asked, wrapping an arm around Reggie's waist, his mouth brushing against the curve of Reggie's neck.
"Y-Yeah," Reggie gasped. "But um, what is uh- Luke going to do?"
"I'm sort of playing this by ear," Luke replied honestly, and then he was settling himself between their legs, drawing closer to Reggie's groin.
He rucked the bassist's shirt up his trembling abdomen and paused to press kisses to his flat stomach, things that made Reggie's breath hitch. He whimpered when Luke started undoing his belt, when his pants were undone and dragged low enough to reveal his length stretching against his boxer briefs.
"Still good?" Luke asked, taking his time to tease circles against Reggie's inner thighs the way he'd always wanted to with Bobby. This was still a nice picture, seeing Reggie all flushed and eager, getting to make him feel good.
"Yes," Reggie breathed, shuddering because one of Willie's hands was tucked up under his shirt, feeling up his chest while the skater sucked new marks against his collar. "Guys, it's- it's so good."
"Good," Willie echoed, sounding pleased. "That's exactly what we want."
"Yeah," Luke murmured before he turned his attention back to Reggie, his heart pounding in his chest.
It was now or never.
Before he could psyche himself out, he hooked his finger into the waist of Reggie's underwear and dragged them low, revealing the bassist's dick in all its glory and it was- well, that was a winner right there, Luke was pretty sure. All flushed and wet and wavering against Reggie's stomach.
"Luke," Reggie moaned, seeming bashful because Luke wouldn't stop staring.
"You're really pretty, baby," Willie murmured into Reggie's ear. "He's just trying to take it all in."
"Yeah," Luke agreed, and then he was leaning forward, considering the warm flesh before licked a tentative stripe against the underside.
"Ah!" Reggie twitched, his length pulsing new beads of warmth. "Oh fuck."
"So responsive, sweetheart," Willie hummed. "Holy shit, can I go down on you next?"
Reggie's only response was to let out a whine that shifted into a low croon when Luke wrapped his mouth around the head of his length properly. It felt good, to be this connected to Reggie, good to get those kind of responses from him, the bassist starting to babble nonsense the moment Luke started swirling his tongue against the sensitive skin.
"Luke, Luke, Luke, Willie, I can't- I'm in his mouth," Reggie whined, hips shaking because Luke was teasing what he couldn't get in his mouth with his free hand, and having that intimacy with Reggie was entirely overwhelming. "Luke's mouth is on my- oh shit, I'm totally gonna come. Luke, I- Luke!"
Luke felt him tense the moment before he fell to pieces, and Luke tried to um- swallow, the way he heard you were supposed to, but there was a lot and it was sudden and bitter so he ended up gagging a little bit, fumbling back and getting hit in the face with some of Reggie's release. Some might have gotten in his hair, too, and he felt like a loser but then Willie moved in to distract Reggie, pumping the bassist through it all until he could do nothing but helplessly shudder.
"Oh wow," Reggie gasped, letting his head roll against Willie's shoulder. "I- I'm so- Luke-"
"It's okay," Luke soothed, giving Reggie's thighs a few pets. "Just uh- bathroom?"
"Down the hall, first door on the right," Willie informed him, passing Luke some tissues from a nearby box. "Want me to come with?"
"Nah, I got this," Luke said, readjusting himself in his pants before he went to make himself look slightly more presentable.
Holy fuck, had that been hot. They should do that all the damn time, in Luke's opinion.
Willie seemed to be of the same mind as him because when he got back to the den the skater was now settled between Reggie's legs, Reggie's hand curled into Willie's hair while the skater did his damnedest to get as much of Reggie's dick in his mouth as possible.
"Willie," Reggie crooned. "Oh fuck, I'm not gonna- Willie, it's so much, you're so much-"
He came with Luke's hands tucked under his shirt, the singer tweaking his nipples while Willie sucked him down, and if Reggie's release had felt good from between his legs, it felt amazing having him arch back into Luke's chest with a broken cry.
"N-No fair," Reggie gasped when it was over, the two of them working together to clean him up. "You guys tagged teamed me."
"You're our newest cutie, we were obligated to," Willie hummed, settling Reggie on the far side of the couch. "Want to watch us jerk off together to make up for it?"
Reggie flushed, but bashfully nodded. "Yes, please."
"Well, since you said please," Luke giggled, and then he was treated to his own whirlwind trip of sensations because Willie's dick was rubbing against his own, the skater's hand firmly pumping them together and it felt so bizarrely intimate Luke felt both embarrassed and overwhelmed. "Willie," he whimpered into the skater's mouth. "I-"
"I know," Willie gasped, and he seemed to mean it, seemed to get it. And Luke might have fallen apart first but his hand was well-practiced so he got Willie there shortly thereafter, the two of them making a small mess of their clothes.
They spent a moment just trying to recover, Luke's pleasure ringing in his ears.
"So," Willie laughed, his voice full of fondness. "Who's up for a shower and bed?"
"That sounds fucking awesome," Luke admitted, happily sagging into his perfect rebound. "Reggie?"
"Yeah," Reggie said, his smile fond and full of a deeper emotion Luke couldn't quite place. "That sounds good."
"Then we shall do it," Willie declared, and it really was that easy, apparently.
-:-:-:-:-:-
There wasn't really a graceful way to exit the den, so they didn't try to. The important thing was for them to maintain a point of contact with each other at all times, which they thankfully did – holding hands and trading kisses until Willie led them up a set of stairs and down a different hallway, leading them into a large suite that apparently acted as his bedroom.
"I can um- lend you guys some clothes," Willie breathed against the curve of Reggie's neck, because they had the bassist between them again. It wasn't their fault – Reggie was super cute, really responsive, and he made the best sounds, so stripping him out of his clothes under the guise of being helpful really was the only solution.
"That'd be um- awesome," Luke murmured, marking up Reggie's shoulder and taking his time to undo his slighter boyfriend's belt. "Do you really need clothes though, Reggie? You're so cute without them."
"Guys," Reggie moaned, that pretty motley of blushes spreading down his heaving chest. Luke didn't have to glance down to know he was worked up again, it was all in his voice.
"Maybe we'll save that for the third date," Willie laughed, stepping back to strip out of his own shirt with a wink, giving Reggie a slight reprieve.
"If we must," Luke pretended to sigh, more content with helping Reggie the rest of the way out of his outfit.
Willie's shower was big enough for all of them – with multiple shower heads and a built-in bench, though they didn't end up using it. They were mostly focused on cleaning each other up, or maybe just cleaning Reggie, who took their attention with writhing moans.
"Oh fuck, oh shit, oh fucking-" Reggie gasped when Willie pumped his dick with expert fingers. "It's so good, Willie."
"Glad to be of service," Willie seemed to purr before jerking his hand in a brutal motion that had Reggie falling apart with a crow.
They waited until the bassist was settled on the stone bench before Luke turned on Willie with a predatory grin.
"That was some good work, sugar lips," Luke hummed, lathering up his wash cloth. "I think you've earned a helping hand of your own."
"Oh, have I?" Willie countered with a smirk, and then they proceeded to feel each other up, each of them trying to get the other off first.
It was an utterly bizarre game but Luke loved it, and he may have cheated just a little so he could be the one to box Willie against the wall, the skater desperately rutting his hips into Luke's waiting hand while he mumbled incoherent curses.
"You are definitely too proud of yourself," Willie mumbled when it was all said and done, but that didn't stop Luke from preening, the singer happy to help his boos dry off and change into some of Willie's comfortable lounging clothes. "Will um- your parents mind you staying the night?"
"I'm usually out after gigs anyway," Luke said, having long ago established a system of lying about exactly when their gigs were. Luke usually sold them as earlier in the evening, then waved away his absence by saying he would spend the night at Bobby's afterwards, which was true, but that was because some of their gigs when they'd first gotten started were at like, two or three in the morning instead of eight or nine o'clock at night.
But what Luke's parents didn't know wouldn't kill them.
"Cool," Willie said through a yawn, leading them over to a huge bed. Like, obnoxiously huge. Luke was pretty sure it was bigger than a king.
"Party much?" Luke laughed, gently tugging Reggie along after him, the bassist seeming a bit nervous about this endeavor.
It took a second for Willie to understand what he was referencing, and then surprisingly enough, his cheeks were claimed in a light flush. "I didn't pick it," he muttered, throwing back the covers and motioning them in. "It's like, a status thing or whatever. I don't know. I've learned not to argue with interior designers."
"I'll make a note to avoid them in the future," Luke chuckled, coaxing Reggie onto the bed first. He settled in the middle, figuring the bassist would prefer it, and smiled when Willie slid in after him, the skater reaching for a remote that could apparently dim the lights like the fancy pants human he was.
He tugged Reggie close to him as a sort of silent communication, and smiled when the bassist turned to rest his head against Luke's chest, curling around him tentatively. It was only then that Luke took the time to actually examine the room – which seemed mostly impersonal in a fancy person way, only-
"Dude," Luke said, pointing over to what was definitely a large, framed poster of the Sunset Curve logo. And like, it had to be homemade, because they didn't even sell posters. "You should have told me you're a fan! I can't believe I haven't seen you at our shows."
"I- um-" Willie flushed, slowly sliding down so that the comforter was up to his chin. "Maybe I saw your videos online, okay? And I liked them." A pretty flush spread across the bridge of his nose. "They were good."
"I would hope they're better than good," Luke scoffed, but that seemed to have the desired effect of making Willie relax some. "Want me and Reggie to sign it?"
"Oh my god," Willie groaned, turning away from them with a huff.
"Seriously, we could write 'to our biggest fan'."
"I regret everything."
"No, but really, where did you get the poster?"
"I made it, okay?" Willie said, sounding all embarrassed. "I didn't think I'd ever actually meet you. Or, you know, date you."
Oh, ho, ho, that meant-
"Wilbert," Luke whispered, gently tugging on Willie's shoulder until he shifted onto his back with a sigh. "You knew who I was before we met?"
"…maybe," Willie muttered.
"You are the cutest patootie," Luke declared, making Willie groan. "No, hey- I'll hear no objections. Sorry, Reg, but you're gonna have to share your title of cutest for the evening."
"I'm cool with that," Reggie said, seeming pleased. At least, he was smiling and his cheeks were all flushed. "I'm glad we have a fan as cool as you are, but um- I'm uh- more glad that we have a boyfriend as cool as you."
Right, right – look at Reggie, always sticking to the priorities.
"Exactly," Luke said, giving Willie a wink. "And that's not just because you live in a rich person house and buy us food. It's because you're a weirdo. A cute weirdo."
"You say the sweetest things," Willie muttered, but when Luke held his arm out the skater still cuddled in close, tentatively sharing Luke with Reggie, and maybe it wasn't conventional but it definitely worked, at least for them.
Ultimately, that was what Luke cared about.

Endnotes:
I'm sure everyone is entirely surprised that I found a way to shove Reggie, my unabashed favorite, into the mix, lol ;D
Until next time :)
