Luz's pov

Luz was sitting in the vet clinic her mom worked at in the Dominican Republic. Luz was born in the U.S but moved to the Dominican when she was a baby with her mom, aunt Eda, her partner Raine.

( the first few notes of it roars plays)

"I'm 14 living in Paradise with cats and dogs and stuff" Luz sang. " but I'm 14 and it's not enough. I mean there's mom, Eda, Raine, and the animal we take care of! But frankly they're on all my last never!"

She got up and walked around the room.

"Nobody in the republic understands!" She sang. " not even my closest friends even have hands!"

She stands up on a chair and continues to sing. " I've got dreams exciting me!

Like, a fire igniting me!"

She goes to pick up the dog king. "I try to confine in king" the dog bites her arm. "but he keeps biting me.

"Do you ever get feeling!" She sang. Everybody else has friends! And they're better friends then yours"

"It's a very recent feeling but it's tuning through my body and it roars! It roars!" Luz sang louder.

Suddenly her mom comes in with Eda and Raine.

"Luz we lost are funding and have to go back to the U.S" her mother explained.

"It's going to be difficult kid. You're going to have to go to a real school." Eda said.

"Guys I would love that, it's time for something new!" Luz sang.

Adventure is what we do!

I've got no time to cry!

I've got new things to try!

Like, high school, and skateboard and rapping! And Starbucks venti chi!

Luz ran out side " Did you ever get a feeling

That a whole new world is waiting

Bringing happiness and friends

To the brave girl who explores

Luz and her family move back to the U.S and before she knows it she's wandering the halls of hexside that is filled with students. She tried waving to a couple but they ignored her.

"Okay, maybe they didn't see me" Luz sang.

"Staring at their little screens

Plus, it's crowded

With all those teens

Hi, teens!" She waved at a girl.

Luz continued to sing.

"they're tough, challenge accepted

I'm trying to break into a pack

Like dogs!,it's natural they attack

I got to fight for the right to belong, to fit in"

"Somebody doesn't fit in." She students around her sang.

"They want to be included, like me

So eventually, I'll win" Luz sang.

" new kid, ignore her!" The students sang.

"I'll win!!" Luz sang louder.

"Just ignore her!" The other students sang again.

Do you ever get a feeling?

Everybody wants connection

"Yes, I know they have their friends, but what is one friend more!" She approached a group of kids

"No!" They sang back.

"Cause I know they know this feeling"

"We know this feeling" the other students sang

So I brush off their rejection at our core

"Just ignore her"

"You can't ignore!" Luz sang

"Just ignore her!"

"The roar! Roar!" Luz belted.

"Welcome to hexside!" To students, a boy and girl popped up in front of her.

"Ahhh!" Luz screamed.

"Sorry we didn't mean to scare you." The girl said. Luz got a better look at her. She had round glasses and short hair. The boy had dark skin and short hair."

Oh it's no problem!" Luz said. "I'm Luz Noceda!"

"Nice to meet you! I'm Willow and this is Gus." The girl said.

"Are you new?" Gus asked. " I've never seen you before"

"I just moved back after living in the Dominican Republic." Luz explained.

"Cool!" Gus said. "What to have lunch with us?"

"Sure!" Luz smiled.
