A/N: So glad you guys like it!
All mistakes are my own.
Tears.
Ana was in tears.
She'd been married to Christian for two years and he was more vulnerable to her in an email than he'd been their entire marriage. She was so happy that Christian was able to speak his truth, and tell his parents. She could already see how much he was healing just from their initial conversation. Christian was also right in thinking she would be pleased with him paying her off. She shouldn't have even been given money, but she does understand that he wants no backlash. Ana wanted Christian to really make Elena pay. And she would think of something to make sure she got the message that none of this was okay. Still, she was proud of her husband.
Ana found it funny how Christian was still threatening to find her. To others, it may have looked ominous, but in her heart she knew that he wasn't being too harsh. Besides, she was able to finally break through. Some may scoff at her methods, but in the end, Ana didn't regret her choice to leave. She knew her husband. And one thing Christian responded to well was shock therapy.
Ana had already spoken with her father earlier. She let him know that she was okay and that she was just taking a mini-solo vacation. Of course her father knew there was more to it than that, but he respected her wishes to keep it light. More than anything Ray was just glad that she was okay. When she hung up, she took a shower, and got into bed comforted by the clean soft sheets and the warm breeze filtering in her room from the ocean. She inhaled the crisp air and let it lull her to sleep.
Now it was morning.
She was exhausted already. Her husband's words were touching, but she didn't realize how keyed up she was until she heard from him, and his honest thoughts. She was glad that they were starting to be on the same page. She knew it would be only a matter of time before her husband found her, but she knew that she could give chase for the next couple of weeks at most. It was starting to amuse and excite her. And she knew Christian would find it humorous, even if it were a little inconvenient.
Ana had already brought a laptop with a top of the line VPN while in Russia. She wanted to make sure everything was properly programmed and downloaded before she used it. She didn't want Christian to be able to track her that way. She wanted to see how well her husband knew her. Throwing off the covers, she quickly cleaned herself up, and put on a dress before sitting at the table which faced the sea. She was hungry, and Ana wanted to make sure baby Grey was getting enough nourishment.
But first, she had to write. Taking a deep breath, Ana opened her email, and began.
Christian,
You don't know how good it makes me feel to know that you ended it with that sick woman. I am glad that you know I am not pleased with how you did it, but I do understand that you have to handle this in the way you know how. I'm sure your therapist even agrees that people handle grief differently, and this time is no different. (Even though I do want blood)
I'm so glad to hear that you want our baby. And Christian, I have to agree with Carrick. You will make a lovely father. Your protectiveness, and care will ensure our son or daughter have the best life afforded to them. There was never any doubt when I met you how good of a father you would be.
As for us, Christian, I love you. And I cannot see myself with another. But I need to know that you will tell me things. That we won't withhold anything from each other. And it's not just your fault. I could've told you about my health struggles with birth control pills and the side effects. But I was afraid you would see it as an excuse. That you would try to offer an alternative, or even lessen the amount of times we have sex. I didn't want to take that away. While I know you love me, I've never felt more close to you, than when we make love. Even when you give me all of you, I can still see that you hid some part away. I am glad that you have gotten rid of that. And not just for me, but for yourself. You probably didn't realize how frozen in time you were. I hope that you can move forward, and I would like us to move together in that direction. Only if you're honest with me. That brings me to a question. And I want your honest answer.
Do you like BDSM? Are there some things you want to incorporate into our sex life? I know of it, but of course we've never really done any of those things. I am open to them if you are. But only if they have positive memories. Because it would suck to have all this personal growth only to fall back into old habits. As for your goal to find me, I hope you are able to. I am good at playing games. Something you probably never knew, but are quickly finding out now.
Good luck on finding us and Baby Grey.
This desire to govern a woman—it lies very deep, and men and women must fight it together...Let yourself go. Pull out from the depths those thoughts that you do not understand, and spread them out in the sunlight and know the meaning of them.
-Yours.
P.S. You should try the sandwiches in Amsterdam. They have the best beef I've ever tasted.
Ana hit send and left her hotel room before she could think of anything else to say. She wanted that out of the way.
Ana took the elevator to the lobby and when she walked into the hotel restaurant she saw Leila waiting for her. Today she was dressed in yellow with a large brimmed hat to match.
"Anastasia!" she said, waving her over. Ana smiled before walking in her direction. She took a seat across from her and laughed a bit.
"Did you sleep here last night, Leila?"
The woman giggled.
"No, of course not! I cannot go to sleep unless I am in my Egyptian cotton. I came here because I forgot to get your number and I figured I would see if I could spot you. I wanted to ask if you wanted to go shopping?"
Ana raised a brow.
"Your husband still isn't back yet?"
Leila sighed.
"No. He is still out pretending to be lost with our son in the woods. I promise when they return, the first thing I'm going to do, after I hose them both down, is to remind him that I do not like being left alone for long periods of time."
Ana giggled.
"He'll probably suggest that you come with them both next time."
"Only if he'll buy me a RV. Now, do you like Armani, Versace, or Bottega?"
Ana blushed before shrugging. Leila rolled her eyes before standing.
"Quick. Grab something small. We have some walking to do."
It wasn't until noon that Christian checked his email. He smiled broadly before he began to laugh, and Taylor saw it, eyebrows raised.
"Sir?"
"Ana wrote me back."
"Do you want me to send the emails to our IT guy?"
Christian was about to say yes, but then he paused. Ana knew he would use his typical methods to get what he wanted, but it wouldn't be the same. Ana wanted him to search for her. As if he didn't have an army of IT men. And he could sense it in her words. He knew it in the last paragraph of her letter. She's telling him where she is, without actually saying it.
"Sir?" Taylor repeated. The man smiled.
"No. I will do this on my own," he said, smiling ruefully.
"Sir?" He said again. Christian sighed, before standing.
"Ana and I have an agreement. I will see it through this way. The last three sentences I know are from a book. I just need to figure out which one, and then work from there. But for now, I am going to grab some lunch. Can you take me to a place where they have beef sandwiches?"
Taylor was stunned. He had never seen Christian this relaxed. He cleared his throat before giving a slight nod.
"Give me a few minutes."
When Taylor left, Christian's phone rang and he rolled his eyes at who was calling.
"Yes?"
"I heard your wife left you for greener pastures," Elliott said gleefully.
"I hate you, Elliott." The man cackled.
"Honestly, I thought she was too good for you. You and your brooding I knew would run off poor Ana. You brood more than that Stefan guy on The Vampire Diaries?"
"What?"
"A television show? Kate made me binge watch the first three seasons with her, and honestly, although he broods, I still think Elena should be with Damon. Damon is kick-ass."
Christian ran his hand over his face.
"Please get to the point," Christian said in exasperation.
"Look," Elliott said, pausing when he burped, "I think you weren't putting it down. You've got to grab her and tell her how it is. You can't be so stand-offish."
"And that works for you and Kate?"
"Yeah man! She knows who runs this house. Now, you need to-"
"Elliot. Thank you so much for your unhelpful advice. But I can fix my own situation."
"Grovel man. Grovel, and promise her anything. Give her money. Chocolate. Girls like that stuff. Then make sure to take your clothes off the floor, and wipe the sink. Girls will flip on you if the sink counter is messy."
"Goodbye, Elliott."
"Hey, wait!"
"What?"
"I love you bro. And I don't know what you said to mom and dad to make them so happy. But I'm glad. And maybe our family can heal again," he said honestly. Christian closed his eyes.
"Elliott-"
"No. I don't need to know. The people who need to know already do, and honestly, that's enough for Mia, and me. Even she can tell that something is different. Just try not to be so much of a dick in the future. Alright?"
"I can do that."
"Good. Now, I've got to get back to work. Some of us don't have time to play cat and mouse all across Europe. I promise you and Ana have too much time on your hands. You both need some kids. Then you can have arguments like normal married couples, in your bedroom, or bathroom hissing at one another, but not loud enough to wake your nosy kids."
"Bye, Elliott."
Christian hung up before shaking his head.
"Sir? I found a place," Taylor said. Christian's head snapped up toward Taylor who was waiting by the door.
"Okay. Let's head out."
Christian figured that he could send his wife a very detailed email while on the way to the restaurant.
Let the games begin, then.
I'm gonna agree with Elliott. Christian and Ana w/rich people problems LOL. Leave me a review it makes my day!
