Chapter 3: Mercury Rising
It was just a normal day when school ended. A real normal day, not a day where Ludo showed up wanting the wand or the enemy attacking.
Star and Marco left school. When they did.
"Hey! See you at home." Said Marco.
"What?" asked Star.
"I was invited to that afterschool program remember." Said Marco.
"Oh right… I forgot." Mumbled Star, "I don't get it, why do you get invited?"
"Because I'm a straight A Student and they don't have school in Mewni." answered Marco.
"Oh yeah…" said Star, "Good luck with your after school program!"
"Thanks!" said Marco who left.
That night, Luna snuck into computer store. She approached the computer. She turned on of the computers.
"Luna here.' Said Luna.
"Verify identity." Said a voice on the computer.
"The rabbit pounds rice cakes on the moon." Said Luna.
"Indemnity verified." Said the voice, "Tell me how are things going with Star?"
Luna sighed.
"She's reckless.' Sighed Luna, "Not to mention everything going on with Ludo."
"I am aware of her situation." Said the voice.
"Not to mention all the possible damage she can do with her wand…" muttered Luna, "I know she's going to cause so much damage.. .it doesn't help the reason she's on earth is because she set fire to her kingdom."
"She what?" asked the voice.
"It was an accident." Sighed Luna.
"All right then…" said the voice, "Anyways there's someone I want you to investigate."
The picture of a girl with short blue hair and dark skin appeared.
"her name is Amaya Aqua. She is apparently a foreign exchange student from Peru." Said the voice, "However there is an unknown energy coming from her."
"I understand." Said Luna.
The next day at Echo Creek Academy, Marco yawned.
"You okay?" asked Star.
"I don't know, it's like yesterday was exhausting." Said Marco, "I don't know why, it wasn't like I did anything… I was just at a computer all day."
"Okay then." Said Star with a shrug.
That was when they noticed a large group of students.
"Oh let's go see what it is!" said Star.
She dragged Marco to the spot where a girl was in the center. The same girl that Luna was forced to watch over, Amaya Aqua.
"I don't have one as a pet, but I do have an uncle who's an alpaca farmer." Said Amaya with a slight accent.
"What's an alpaca?" asked one of the other students.
"Oh come on! They're like llamas but cuter and fluffier." Said another student.
Amaya giggled.
"Who's that?" asked Star.
"Amaya Aqua. Another forgiven exchange student." Said a voice.
They noticed Janna, one of their classmates.
"She's studying with my family." Explained Janna, "Some genius girl all the way from Peru. Rumor is that's the world's smartest person."
"Oh wow! That's amazing!" said Star with her eyes sparkling.
"She's probably making it up." Said Marco with a yawn.
"Sure don't believe me… don't say I didn't warn you when she starts beating your test scores." Said Janna with a smirk.
"Hey! I'm in the Crystal Academy Afterschool Program." Said Marco.
"You're in a for a surprise this afternoon." Laughed Janna.
Marco glared at Janna as she walked away.
"I wonder what that was about." Said Star.
"I don't care." Muttered Marco.
"By way… is there anyone else from our school?" asked Star, "I mean it would be too bad if you were alone."
"No Sabrina's also attending." Said Marco.
He pointed to an equally exhausted Sabrina.
"Really?" asked Star.
"Yeah, apparently with all of her injuries she studies a lot and gets really good grades." said Marco.
"I guess that make sense." Said Star.
Later that day, Star was skipping down the street humming when she noticed Amaya walking down the street. Then she noticed Luna watching her, then she pounced her causing Amaya to yelp.
Star ran over, "Luna! Bad kitty!" scolded Star running over.
"Oh is she your cat?" asked Amaya.
Star gabbed Luna.
"Yep!" said Star.
"I thought when she jump out like that that she might be angel." Said Amaya who then started to blush.
"You're funny." Laughed Star, "I'm Star Butterfly by the way!"
"Amaya Aqua." Said Amaya, "Janna told me you're the one who turned Miss Skullnick into a troll."
"Oh yeah…" said Star, "It was an accident… I meant to just have her find true love."
"How did you do that?" asked Amaya.
"Oh I'm a magic princess from another dimension." Said Star creating a rainbow with her wand that gave off a flash of light.
"What was that light?" asked Amaya.
"Oh… I'm still having a hard time creating rainbow. I'm getting better! They're not starting fires anymore." Said Star.
"Okay." Said Amaya unsure how to react to that information, But how did you get here?"
"Oh I can show you!" said Star.
"Really?" asked Amaya.
Star took out her dimensional scissors and cut a hole in the air creating a portal.
"Come on! Let's go!" called out Star and took Amaya and they jumped though the portal.
They ended up in a crystalline cavern, where many square people were playing video games.
"Welcome to Amethyst Arcade!" said Star.
"Um…" said Amaya, "I've never been to an arcade."
"Really! Then it's a first time for everything!" said Star.
Luna sighed as Star began to show Amaya around the arcade.
They got to a game called Sailor Jump Jump Star didn't get far in the game.
"Would you like to try?" asked Star.
"I don't know if I'm going to be any good." Said Amaya.
"It's not about being good! It's about having fun!" said Star.
"Oh snap! Who's the winner! I'm the winner!" yelled one of the Square people.
Star laughed nervously.
Amaya began to play the game.
As she did Luna nudged her.
"What is it?" asked Star.
"I believe that Amaya is an enemy." Said Luna.
"Seriously?" asked Star.
"I'm sure!" said Luna, "There's a mysterious energy about her."
"That's you're reason." Said Star.
"No! Way! I've never seen a score that high!" yelled one of the square people.
Star went to see what was going on as it turned out Amaya was getting a very high score.
"I'm sure that's the record!" yelled one of the score people.
Amaya smiled as the people gathered around and soon enough she beat the game.
"That was amazing!" said Star, "Hugs!"
She hugged Amaya causing her to blush.
"Hey you okay?" asked Star.
"It's just that no one ever hugged me like." Said Amaya, "Well outside of my family."
"Oh… sorry." Said Star breaking the hug.
"It's fine." Said Amaya.
Then she noticed her watched.
"Oh no! I'm late!" she said.
She ran though the crowed of Square People, she ended up tripping n them spilling the contents of her backpack.
Star helped her pick up her stuff.
"What are you late for?" asked Star.
"I forgot to tell you but I attend Crystal Academy." Said Amaya.
"Oh that invite only after school program." Said Star.
"Sorry I should have told you." Said Amaya.
"No… it's fine." Said Star, "I should have asked to bring you here."
"It's okay I had fun." Said Amaya, "We should do this again once I have more time."
"Awesome!" said Star.
After making sure had had everything in her bag, Star opened up a portal to the after school program, and she waved good-bye to Amaya.
"I still don't trust her." Said Luna.
"She's not the enemy." Said Star.
Star was about to close the portal when one of the square people went through it.
"Hello." Said the Square person, "Your friend dropped this."
He gave it to star and it was a CD of some kind. On the case was the Crystal Academy symbol.
The square person went through the portal and Star closed it.
"Star I'm getting a bad feeling from that disk." Said Luna.
"Seriously?" asked Star, "Fine, I'll go check it out for enemy activity."
"Please take this seriously." Muttered Luna.
"Fine." Muttered Star.
Meanwhile inside the Crystal Academy Marco was about to start their program that they made them do.
"Why am I so tired." He muttered and then joked to himself, "Maybe it's draining my energy."
Then he realized, as they all arrived all of them were exhausted. He looked around and made sure that the teacher wasn't watching.
He began to check the data of the program they used that was when the computer began to emit a noise.
"You are to give your energy to our great ruler! You are to give all your intellect to our great ruler!" Said a creepy voice from the computer.
Marco immediately shut down the computer.
"Okay… that's never a good sign." Sighed Marco.
"Excuse me Mr. Diaz." Said the teacher, "Is everything all right?"
"Just having some computer problems." Said Marco.
"I see… get back to work then." Said the teacher.
"Of course." Said Marco.
That was when he noticed that the student next to him had finally arrived as she was late.
"(Oh dear.)" she said in Spanish, "(I lost the disk.)"
Marco he pushed back a little and saw the student was Amaya.
"(Hey, it's fine.)" said Marco deciding that Spanish would be a great way to warn her with out altering the teacher, "(There's something very wrong with the program. It's probably better to not use it.)"
"(Okay… thanks…)" replied Amaya in Spanish.
Marco breathed a sigh of relief knowing that he saved one other student from energy draining.
He check it cell phone and then remembered that he had no way to get in contact with Star.
"Great." Muttered Marco, "I have to wait until I can home to warn her."
Back at the Diaz house, Luna was using a laptop to discover what was up with the program.
"Aw," cooed Star.
"Can you please stop that." Said Luna.
"But you're so cute using that computer." Said Star.
That was when Luna did the same thing as Marco and checked the program's data.
The noise and same message played, "You are to give your energy to our great ruler! You are to give all your intellect to our great ruler!"
Luna immediately it shit it down.
"I told you she was the enemy." Said Luna.
"Please! Marco has the same disk because he's in the same after school program!" said Star, "Oh no! Marco's in trouble! That's why he was exhausted!"
They left to go to the Crystal Academy. They noticed guards standing outside.
"Seriously?" asked Star, "How are we supposed to get in."
"I have something that will do it." Said Luna.
She performed a back flip and produced a pink pen with a red gem on top.
"A pen! How is a pen going to help?" asked Star, "Wait! Will this let me forge my way in?"
"No it's a special disguise pen." Said Luna, "It will let you disguise as anyone."
"My wand lets e do that too!" said Star.
"But this one will completely mask your tin deity… as long as they don't know you're Sailor Moon." Said Luna, "Which mean Marco and your mother will be able to see through it but no one else."
"So cool!" said Star with her eyes sparkling.
"Say Moon Power then the disguise you want." Said Luna.
"Okay! I have an idea!" said Star, "Moon Power! Turn me into a Police Officer!"
She transformed into a police officer. She went to the door and told the guards that she was instigating report. They let her through with a shrug.
When she got to the level, she kicked down the door and held out her gun.
"Freeze! Everyone put your hands up!" yelled Star.
Luna just watched from the doorway and groaned.
"Can you please explain what's going on?" asked Amaya standing up.
"Star?" asked a baffled Marco as he stood up.
However the teach grabbed both of them from them from behind.
"So you're the one who's been stopping our plans." Said the teach who transformed into a monster.
"Told you so Luna." Said Star with a smirk.
"Now's not the time! Transform!" said Luna.
"Oh right!" said Star, "Moon Prism Power! Make-Up!"
She transformed into Sailor Moon.
"I'm the pretty guardian Sailor Moon, Guardian of Love and Justice! And in the name of the Moon! I'm going to kick your monster butt!"
"Now my students! Go attack her!" ordered the monster.
The other students who were branched all got up.
"Uh-oh." Said Sailor Moon.
The branched students all began to attack Sailor Moon. Pinning her down making sure she couldn't move.
"Now you to." Said the teacher.
She slammed both of them into the computer screens but it weren't working.
"What!" yelled the monster.
"I guess you could say I'm Sailor Moon's sidekick." Said Marco, "I figured out earlier what you doing." Said Marco.
The monster flung Marco away but then noticed on Amaya's forehead was the symbol of Mercury.
"What is this!" yelled the monster lifting her up.
"No way!" said Luna, "That's the energy that I was feeling."
She flipped into the air and produced a blue and gold wand with the same symbol that appeared on Amaya's forehead.
"What is going on!" yelled the monster.
However Marco managed to kick the monster causing her drop Amaya.
"Amaya!" called out Luna tossing the wand to her.
"You can talk?" asked Amaya.
"Yes." Answered Luna, "Now called out Mercury Power! Make-Up!"
Amaya looked at the monster.
"Mercury Power! Make-up!" she called out.
In a flash of light and water, Amaya found her self in the same outfit as Sailor Moon, however her colors were different. Her main color was a lighter shade of blue, her ribbons were sky blue and the gem on her tiara, the piping on her gloves and her boots matched her main color instead of her ribbon color.
"What!" yelled the monster in shock.
"You're Sailor Mercury! One of the Sailor Guardians." Said Luna.
"Okay." Said Amaya or rather Sailor Mercury.
"And I'm not going to hear the end of this." Muttered
"Moonlight Radiant Sleep Ray!" called out Sailor Moon.
All of the brainwashed students fell asleep.
"Finally!" muttered Sailor Moon, "I'm free!"
The monster glared at three of them.
Then she turned her hand into an axe.
"Bubble Spray!" called out Sailor Mercury almost on instinct.
She sent out bubbles, which turned into a very cold fog.
"What's going on?" asked the monster started to shiver, "Why is it so cold?"
"Starlight Moonlight Boomerang Blaster!" called out Sailor Moon.
She shot out a bunch of moon and star shaped boomerangs from her wand hot the monster while she was distracted.
The fog started to clear and Sailor Moon smirked.
"All right time to finish you off!" said Sailor Moon, "Moon Tiara Action!"
She flung her tiara at the monster and the monster turned to dust.
"Yes!" cheered Sailor Moon.
She grabbed both Marco and Sailor Mercury and cheered, "Hugs!"
Luna sighed.
Sometime later, they were walking together explaining the situation to Amaya.
"So that's what going on." Said Amaya, "I believe I understand."
"I'm so glad you're a Sailor Guardian!" cheered Star.
"So how do you know Marco?" asked Amaya.
"She couldn't keep it a secret for more than a minute." Said Luna.
"Don't tell that to everyone." Muttered Star.
"It's true." Said Star.
That was when they were surrounded by monsters… Ludo's monster this time.
"Get the wand!" yelled Ludo who was a small kappa wearing a cow's skull.
"Are they?" asked Amaya.
"No a different set of monsters." Said Marco.
A giant frogman tried to attack Marco, however he kicked him away.
"Shooting star explosion!" called out Star shooting a bunch of stars at them.
Amaya stood to the side. As she could fight.
"You don't know how to fight do you?" asked Star, "Cupcake Blast!"
"No sorry!" said Amaya.
That was when Star got an idea she pointed her wand at Amaya, "Permanent Water Bow!"
A blue bow (as in the weapon) appeared in front of Amaya.
"Try it out!" said Star.
Amaya grabbed the bow, and pulled on the string when she did a arrow made of water appeared, she shot it at a large giraffe like monster hitting him.
"Oh, thank you!" said Amaya blushing.
"If you're going to be on this team! You also have to know to how to handle Ludo!" said Star, "Rainbow Blast!"
She shot the bow again, she didn't know why but she thought about ice and this time she shot an ice arrow as a two-headed monster freezing him.
"Whoa! Okay! That is an awesome weapon!" said Marco.
Okay! Seriously! You had karate boy and now you have a girl who shoots water from a bow! Which might I add you latterly just gave her." Said Ludo, "No fair!"
"Mega Narwhal Blast!" called out Star.
She sent out a giant Narwhal that crushed Ludo.
"You still going to complain?" asked Star.
"No I'm fine!" said Ludo.
The monster got the narwhal off him.
"All right! Time to retreat… we have to come up with new plans." Said Ludo as he created a portal with his scissors.
The monster retreated and Amaya looked at her bow.
"Thank you." Said Amaya.
"Like I said, you're part of the team now. And if you're part of the team you have to help with Ludo." Said Star, "And like I said, it's permanent. So don't worry about it disappear."
"Okay." Said Amaya.
When Amaya came to America she really didn't expect to befriended a princess from another dimension or be a Sailor Guardian. Back home she really didn't' have any friends because she studied a lot. She knew that while she was in America at least… it was going to be an adventure.
Next Time: After an accident, Marco break's his arm... which Star accidently replaces with a tentacle arm. However the arm is extremely evil... and Jadeite senses its evil and wants to figure out a way to separate it from Marco. What will happen? Find out next time!
A/N: All right! So here's the thing about the inner Senshi/guardians. Each one will be not only from a different country, but from what I call the four corners of the world (IE: the quarters of the globes that created by dividing the hemispheres). Amaya/Ami represent the Southwest Corner. You can guess what countries will be the representative, but I have already deicide... expect for the Northeast corner as I'm saying it now whoever is from that corner is from Japan (for obvious reasons). I won't say who yet, but either way it's going to be fun. Also if they're from an English speaking country I'm using the dub name for a first name with a last name of my own creation... so yeah...
Also Amaya is the only Star gives a weapon. As she is the only one who doesn't seem to be able to fight as a civilian.
And yes, sometimes there will be chapters that be an adaptation of a Star episode with twists or the events will be important to the chapter but not the main focus.
