Day 2, Part 2: Doll Device and Innocent Heart
"Where have you been Shinji? You've missed the first half of the school day and your face is all red...are you ill?" Hikari asked out of concern as Shinji caught his breath. After his fun little encounter with Asuka, she decided it would be best if she went home "sick" while Shinji went back to class to cover their tracks. Shinji immediately shook his hands, putting a nervous smile as he made eye contact with her.
"It's nothing like that, I just didn't wake up for a long time. Misato had already left the apartment you see and well my alarm died out in the middle of the night I think so..." Shinji groaned in his mind as he lied through his teeth, trying to cover the tracks that he and Asuka had clearly stomped through the mud. Hikari simply smiled and shook her head, placing the classwork from the first part of the day on his desk.
"It's OK, you don't have to explain Shinji, I'm just glad you're here now and you're OK," Hikari gave a nod of her head with a big ol' smile before leaving to go back to her desk. Slumping back in his chair, his hand brushed against his sides, one of his hands picking up on the something in his pocket that Rei had given him earlier that day. Remembering what Rei had told him earlier, he turned to gaze at her, which caught her glance that was aimed for the front of the class. She let her cheeks grow warm as she looked over at him before shying her eyes away with a snap of her head to face forward.
Shinji began to ponder her strange actions, but was interrupted by the teacher as he came in and grabbed everyone's attention. Hikari played her role of class rep with utter perfection, just as she always had before everyone sat back down. The class math lesson seemed to have its volume turned down to mute in Shinji's mind as he ran his fingers over the strange device in his pocket. Curious as to what Rei had said that morning, he waited until Rei was forced to answer an equations, though he couldn't comprehend why he thought that was the right time.
"Ayanami, would you please come up here to answer this equation?" the teacher asked. Without hesitation Rei rose up from her seat, her eyes darting to Shinji's before facing back to the front. Grabbing a piece of chalk, she began to start writing out an answer. Shinji couldn't tell if the contraption in his pocket was facing up or facing down.
"I guess I should try what Rei told me to do..." Shinji said to himself as he decided to press on the what he thought was up triangle. Shinji watched as Rei's legs suddenly tightened up, slowly moving together as she continued writing. Curiously, Shinji instead held the button this time. As Ayanami was about to solve the equation, her whole body acted as if it had been shocked by electricity, her hand zipping to the right on the chalk board, the chalk scraping to the point of snapping in two. She then fell to her knees, holding her arms tightly as she began to tremble uncontrollably. Shinji grew pale, immediately pushing the button that faced the other direction. Slowly, her shivering subsided to a bare minimum with the teach now full of concern.
"Ayanami, are you alright?" the teacher asked, snooping down to a knee. Ayanami's face was beat red, sweat lightly forming from her brow with a face that had a slight of agony in it. The teacher helped her back onto her feet, holding his arm out for support.
"Whose job is it this week to escort people through the hall?" the teacher's words caused Shinji's ears to perk up, snapping him from his scared daze long enough to think up something to say.
"It's my job this week," Shinji spoke out. He wasn't sure if it truly was or not, but seeing how Rei was, he was far too curious to find out what had happened to her and how the device played a part.
"Please escort Ayanami to the infirmary immediately, don't worry about hurrying back, just take it at the pace that she can handle, understood?" the teacher's words were like a mission briefing, to which Shinji hastily replied with a nod. Shinji's heart raced as he jumped to his feet, his first step clipping the edge of his chair which caused him to hop on one foot to regain his balance. He struggled to keep his anxiousness in check; it was if he already knew what was going to happen. Rei grasped onto Shinji's arm as they left the room, her legs giving out once the door had shut.
"Rei, are you alright? What the heck does this control thing do to you?!" Shinji's concern shot through the roof as Rei weakly smiled at him, her face still flushed from the sensation that she was hiding.
"...it's a pleasure device...I...use it when I think of you..." Rei said meekly, Shinji's face staring in disbelief. Rei then rose back onto her firm footing, taking Shinji by the arm and leading him towards the girl's restroom that was just around the corner from the classroom.
"W-What are you doing? I can't go in there!" Shinji fought, Rei's eyes then looking into his, pleading for her to continue leading. Rei immediately locked the door behind them, now dragging her feet until she slipped and fell into his chest. "I'm sorry for being so forward with you Ikari...I'm sure deep down you think I'm just a harlot with how I approached you...how I must be easy...but I want you to know it's...well...it's because I didn't know how to approach you...I know that you and Asuka are...rather close so I was afraid that she already had your heart...so I did what I thought was necessary to possibly steal you from her...I'm pretty terrible person, aren't I...?" Rei said, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. Shinji sighed contently, pulling her close to him as he possibly could, allowing her to rest the side of his head on his shoulder.
"Rei...I never knew your feelings for me were THIS strong. I...I must be honest with you, me and Asuka, well...we've kind of done it before. So I guess you were kind of in the right. I don't blame you for being as forward as you were, I figured there had to be a reason for it. Are you sure you would want to be with me, knowing that I've done something like this with Asuka before?" Shinji asked, the weight of the world lifting off of his shoulders as he let his honesty fly off his tongue. To his surprise, Rei shook her grasping onto him as well as he felt tears graze his neck.
"I-I don't care that you've done things with her...I don't care if you still had feelings for her...I don't care if you've...done it with a lot of different people...all that matters is that you are right here with me now...and hearing you say 'I love you too' makes all of those bad people go away in my heart. As long as...I'm sorry this sounds strange...as long as I'm the only one you say I love you too, I can make it through anything...thank you for loving me, Ikari" Rei said, removing her head from his shoulder to smile in his eyes.
"I hope I'm not considered too indecent, but judging by what just happened, I think you like it," Rei said with a small giggle as she slowly raised herself off of him. Shinji's seed drizzled from her crevice and onto his manhood as she removed herself, grabbing a small bit of toilet paper to then clean it off. Although this reality was crafted by Shinji, he hadn't any idea how had been perceived up until now, how he was crafted into the reality so to speak. Hikari then balled her fists and took a deep breath, steadying her nerves as a serious, determined expression formed upon her face.
"If that's the kind of thing Shinji is into, that I'll just have to win him over by doing it all better! Granted I don't know too much about that kinda thing, but heck, as my mama and papa always said, 'If its something you really want, work as hard as you can to get it'. Hikari said.
She then blushed heavily, realizing that if she was going to do it with him, she would have to outdo the fact that he had just banged Rei in a bathroom, which is a rather bold action. Covering her face with her hands in intense embarrassment, she thought long and hard about what she would have to do to pull him away from Rei's wild, slutty clutches that she had just clawed him in with. Suddenly, a sly smile graced her lips as an idea finally hit her like a baseball bat, her face bright red as she stood and grabbed the lunches.
"I know exactly what to do now," Hikari giggled, an aura of determination gracing her frame. Rei decided to head back towards class, now that her urges were satisfied, there was no need for the little contraption that had helped her get there; in other words, just was now happy as can be. Shinji managed to stumble out of the girl's bathroom without being detected, his body drenched with sweat from not just one, but two intense sensual experiences today. Staring at the ground, he noticed that a shadow appeared before him that seemed to tower over him. Looking up, he winced in surprise and panic as Hikari looked down at him.
"OH UH HIKARI! I UH...UH...YOU SEE I MISSED CLASS BECAUSE..." Shinji yelps, trying to think of anything to explain why he missed the rest of class that wasn't having sex with Rei. As shock caused his heart to skip and his face growing pale from near terror, he looked as if he were going to be ill at any moment. Hikari shrugged then bopped him on the head with the back of her hand, returning his attention to her.
"You missed class because you decided to have a long bathroom break," Hikari said with a scowl, causing Shinji to stare up at her with fear.
"Oh shit, I think I'm figured out!" Shinji cried to himself as Hikari placed the top of her hand on top of his head, shifting it side to side to snap him out of his panic attack.
"I uh...you see..." Shinji fumbled, yet again trying to figure out what to say to not land himself in hot water. Hikari simply rolled her eyes, now reaching down to help him up instead of berating him further. Shinji looked up at her, a playful shrug on her face prompting him to grab her hand.
"You don't have to say anything Shinji, it's fine. I just came to see if you wanted to have lunch with me, is that a problem?" Hikari smirked, playing dumb to the whole situation that had just taken place. Shinji tried to take a quiet gulp to calm his nerves but failed to keep it mute. Looking up at her, he realized he had no other options.
"Not a problem at all, I'd like to eat lunch with you. Sorry for being a bit of a mess today," Shinji said with a slight smile, taking her hand and rising to his feet.
"We all have our crap days Shinji, its fine. But I will say you look awfully red in the face, I hope you ain't getting sick too," Hikari said with a smirk as she began walking down the hall, Shinji now at her side.
"Does she know what happened between me and Rei?" Shinji kept reciting in his head. Over and over again, he pondered this, almost following her on autopilot as she attempted to talk to him. He occasionally answered with a yes or no, but nothing that was too close to what sort of answer he should've given. After snapping out of his deep thoughts, he then realized that he and Hikari were now on top of the school.
The soft, warm breeze of the day made for a pleasant step into the open air; the sun in the sky was slowly being covered up by fluffy white clouds, cooling off the searing hot roof that they were about to partake upon. Shinji took in a deep breath of air, which was exactly what he needed after everything that had gone on today.
"Wow it's beautiful out here!" Shinji said, taking in the oddly magnificent scenery. He had been on this very roof hundreds of times but it never felt this nice or enchanting before. Walking over to the railing facing the front yard of the school, Shinji leaned over to catch another gust of warm air across his face. All Hikari could do was watch and smile; it was if he had reverted back to the person she had always liked instead of having the feeling of being a perverse boy like she felt earlier.
"Um...Shinji, are you hungry? I packed a lunch for you too because I noticed you didn't have one when you came to school," Hikari said, her words flowing with the breeze that caressed across Shinji's ears. He turned and smiled, giving her a nod before approaching her. Hikari laid down both lunch bentos on the ground, plopping her rear between them then shifting into a comfortable position. Shinji followed suit, moving down in front of her and sitting before her.
"So, what's for lunch?" Shinji asked. Hikari blushed lightly as she handed Shinji his container of food, praying to whatever God there may be that he would like it. Popping it open, Shinji analyzed the contents carefully, coming to realize that it was more along the line of cuisine than simply a lunch. Inside was rice, a few balls of takoyaki and very thin sliced slivers of roast duck. He looked up at her then back down at the food then back at her.
"You did all this for me?! This must've taken hours," Shinji replied, causing a big smile to curl upon Hikari's lips. She opened up her own lunch, which was rather ordinary by comparison and began to slowly eat as she kept her eyes on him.
"It did take some time, but I made it for someone special so the time didn't matter," Hikari's face reddened again, taking in a large chopstick full of white rice into her mouth. Shinji immediately went for the slices of duck, every bite of them tingling his taste buds with the greatest of ease. Silence fell between them as they ate, both them eyeing each other from time to time with words being spoken through eye contact. Shinji found it unusually blissful, which he could tell from Hikari's expression that it was what she was hoping for. After 15 minutes, they both finished, Shinji laying back to stretch out as far as his limbs could go.
"That was incredible! Thanks you so much Hikari!" Shinji announced. When Hikari didn't reply, he turned his eyes from the sky back towards where they sat, with Hikari moving to sit down beside him.
"Is everything alright Hikari? You're being awfully quiet," Shinjij inquired as Hikari sat next to him.
"I...uh...Shinji, do you...have a girlfriend or anything?" Hikari asked, her heart aching as her memories dove back to what she had heard earlier. Shinji turned his head to look over at her as he sat up, bracing his body with his arms holding him up.
"I wouldn't exactly say a girlfriend...more like a friend with a few girl's I like?" Shinji tried to put his honesty forward the best he could without stripping away the sensitivity on the matter.
"I see...what is Rei to you? I...heard you two in the bathroom..." Hikari averted her eyes from his, melancholy filling them as the horrible memory flared back up. Shinji simply stared at her as pale as a ghost, his chills slowly being warmed by the wonderful breeze. Shinji sighed heavily, calming his nerves instead of trying to make up a half-ass'd excuse that she'd clearly be able to see through.
"It all happened so fast...one moment I'm helping her to the infirmary, the next thing I know she drags me into the bathroom and presents me with a temptation that no man could really resist...I know that's not a good answer, but it's the best way I can put it..." Shinji said, scowling from shame for a moment as Hikari continued to prod further.
"It's alright...I know how guys are...I just...darn it, I don't know how to word this any better...Shinji I...think I'm in love with you," Hikari's face went red as Shinji's expression changed from shameful to flat out surprised. He knew that she had ALWAYS had a thing for Touji, but then he remembered how this world was made. Thinking about it, he definitely thought of Hikari the least out of everyone he knew, but right here, right now, she was suddenly confessing her love to him.
"How come? I didn't think I ever really showed you all that much attention or anything. I'm not saying I don't like the thought of you liking me, I'm just, well, surprised," Shinji replied, taking time to carefully pick his words. Hikari wrapped her arms beneath her legs, pressing the side of her head to her knees as she gazed over him.
"Well, at first I didn't really know myself. I thought I was just being dumb and not knowin' anything about boys. But as I got to know you, I felt that you were a really good person, but very sad, as if no one had really loved you growin' up. I wouldn't call it pity at all, but rather, I felt compelled by it. I admired that you fought through that issue and still made something of yourself every day, and that is what I admired the most about you," Hikari said with a faint smile, her eyes still looking into his as her face heated up again. Shinji just stared dumbfounded at how pure Hikari really was.
Everyone else that he knew in this world was either incredibly straight forward or literally just jumping him for the chance of mating, but Hikari was different.
