A/N: LOL
"Hello, Grace."
Ana didn't know how the woman could look so graceful behind bars, but she did. Not a hair was out of place, and she sat in her corner looking serene. Her demeanor must've scared the other women because they were on the other side of the room staring at her. The guard opened the door and she thanked the man, patting his cheek as he passed. He was young and seemed to blush before he cleared his throat.
"You're welcome?" he said completely unable to answer the woman in such a predicament, as he was the one who arrested her.
Kate snorted and hugged Grace when she came close. She turned to Ana and beamed.
"My other daughter has come back home!" Ana didn't know what it was about Grace's hug. But as she returned it, she felt tears welling in her eyes. When she pulled back Grace chuckled.
"Oh, don't cry Ana. I was perfectly safe. I was waiting for Kate to come and get me. There was no need to worry you," she said as they walked out into the cool sunny air. Ana took a deep breath and shook her head.
"No, I'm sorry, it's just the hormones pumping inside of me."
Grace froze and turned to look at Kate who gave a knowing look. She gripped Ana's hands tightly.
"Are you pregnant?" She whispered. Ana nodded and Grace squealed before hugging her close.
"Oh, I'm so thrilled! Have you told anyone yet?"
Ana shook her head before a big smile came across your face. Just you and Kate know. Christian and I were waiting for the next family dinner next weekend. My parents were going to join since they haven't seen me since I returned."
Grace nodded.
"Of course. I will let our cook know to expect two more. Oh!, this is just so exciting. How is Christian taking it?"
"Good. He is happy. He wants to come with me to my next appointment and see the baby himself. I'm sure after that he will be even more invested. He already started talking about making one of the rooms a nursery."
Kate opened the back door for Grace before she rounded the car. Once they were all settled inside, Kate looked at Grace in the rear-view mirror.
"Okay, Grace. Now, what are we going to do about your husband?"
Grace bit her lip.
"Well, the second officer who arrested me asked if I had a lawyer. I instantly blurted out Carrick's name. I know he is going to be pissed."
Ana sighed.
"Well, Christian was already pissed at me."
Grace turned her head to Ana who was sitting in the front passenger seat. She scooted to the middle and placed her hand on her shoulder. "Why?"
Ana fiddled with her ring finger.
"I may or may not have paid Elena a visit earlier today threatening her to leave town. I have proof on her husband, and I said that I would release it if she wasn't gone within two weeks. Since her husband is already living in New York, maybe they could get a head start. Christian of course found out that I wasn't where I said I was and when he found out it was Elena, I thought he was going to have a heart attack."
"Who took you?" Kate asked as she maneuvered through traffic.
"Sawyer. But we stopped and got some Wendy's before I went home. I ate my burger while he was screaming at me, and I drank some of my chocolate frosty but it's been melted."
Grace hummed in sympathy. Kate gasped.
"I know! Let's go get some chocolate frosty's together! Then we will drop cell block tango here over at her place. You think they know already?" Kate asked. Both Grace and Ana said at the same time, "Yes."
What. The. Fuck.
Christian had no idea where to start. His wife was going around like she was Gotti's wife threatening Elena with hell if she ever came back to Seattle, and now his mother. His precious, gentle, pediatrician of a mother was bailed out by Kate of all people because she went to Elena's house, and trashed the inside of her house along with her prized Porsche. Christian couldn't believe it himself. But, he saw the proof on camera with his father and brother. Carrick had set up security camera's on their property, which was direct across the street from Elena's home. All three saw in explicit detail Grace grab a bat out of her trunk, chase Elena into the house before she trashed the car, and then went inside. They couldn't see what was going on on the inside, but they could hear faint screams, and things being cracked. They also heard the sirens before Grace was arrested, and she calmly got into the car, saying nothing. When the screen went black, Christian groaned. He noticed Sawyer and Taylor behind him trying not to laugh. Christian turned his gaze to his pained-looking father. Elliott however went through half of his bowl of popcorn.
"This is brilliant. I'm going to need copies of this to show my kids why we shouldn't mess with grandma."
"Elliott!" both Carrick and Christian shouted. Elliott rolled his eyes.
"Like you weren't thinking it."
Carrick sighed, before running his hands through his hair.
"This is incriminating evidence. If Elena presses charges Grace could face some jail time, possibly a fine. We've got to keep this out of the media."
Christian nodded.
Before Carrick could come up with a plan, he received a phone call. His eyes widened before he spoke.
"Okay. Thank you for calling. Goodbye."
When he ended the call Elliott asked who it was.
"That was Elena's lawyer. She said in lieu of the entire situation, she will not be pressing charges. She is leaving Seattle tonight as her husband needs her in New York." Sawyer choked a bit on that before he cleared his throat. Elliot's brow rose.
"I don't know what mom did, but it must've been traumatic. I love it!"
Elliott could hear his kids screaming in the living room and sighed. Christian turned to him.
"When did you bring your kids?"
"They've been here overnight. Mom and Dad were watching them. I had a project on-site and Kate had a story that she had to drive out to investigate. Mom said that Dad was working from home so it would be no problem."
Carrick nodded.
"Yes. They've been with me all morning and afternoon. I went to grab some juice for everyone when your mother called me, and then I called you. I didn't hear any police sirens because we were in the movie room."
Christian nodded.
"Let me go check on the brats," Elliott said before standing and walking out the room. When it was just Carrick and Christian, the older man chuckled. Christian looked over at his dad in surprise.
"Dad. Why are you laughing?"
Carrick grinned.
"Oh, it's just funny to me. How much your mother loves you."
Christian opened his mouth but no words were able to come out. Carrick continued to speak.
"Son, let this be a lesson. Do not ever underestimate your mother, or what she is willing to do for you or your siblings."
Christian nodded.
"I honestly thought Elena would press charges. After all, Ana just paid her a visit as well."
Carrick's eyes widened.
"What happened?"
Christian sighed before he quickly explained what happened. By the time he was finished Elliott had snuck back into the room and he gave a low whistle.
"Man. I knew I loved my sister-in-law. She is badass," Elliott said eating a lollipop.
"Be that as it may, Ana can't go around threatening people," Christian stated. Elliot's brow rose.
"She can't?"
"Really?"
Both Carrick and Elliot glanced at Christian who threw up his hands.
"She could get herself in trouble. Besides, she is pregnant now and-"
"Woah! Ana is preggers! Congrats man! For a while, I thought you couldn't produce sperm for her or something!"
Carrick leaned over and hit Elliott's head, a move Elliott was so used to he hardly flinched. The older man shook his head before walking over and hugging him.
"Congrats, son. I'm so happy to have another grandchild. I have Elliott's kids all the time and I know Mia isn't remotely interested in having a baby now so that left you and Ana. Is she resting properly?"
Christian rolled his eyes.
"When she's not playing a hitwoman."
Carrick chuckled before patting his back.
"Son. I've realized in all my years of dealing with women, that we don't really know them. And that they can do whatever they want, and we are powerless to stop them. Just get used to it," he said before opening the security door.
"Now, gentlemen. Join me for a celebratory drink. I'm sure your mother will be home soon, as will both of your wives so we might as well enjoy the reprieve.
"I forgot how good a chocolate frosty was!" Grace said.
"Mm-hmm," Kate added.
Ana had another order of large fries and she sighed at the greasy texture on her tongue.
"This is good," Ana remarked leaning back in the chair. The three women were huddled in the back of the restaurant eating and sighing at finally being away from the police station.
"Where do you think Carrick is now?" Grace asked. Kate giggled.
"Definitely home. Probably trying to get you a lower prison sentence. Or at least get you sent to the same one Felicity Huffman went to. Or Martha Stewart. Which one do you think is better?" she asked Grace. Ana rolled her eyes.
"Really Kate?" Ana asked. Kate smirked.
"I'm sorry I had to.
"I guess if I had to be sent somewhere, I would prefer the one Martha Stewart went to. That was more of a dormitory-style, and I enjoyed being in the dorms while in college," Grace said lightly. The women all glanced at one another before breaking off into loud laughter. Ana giggled, shaking her head at Grace.
"Why I never knew my mother-in-law was so funny."
Grace winked.
"I have to be. I am a kid's doctor after all. Where do you think Elliott gets his humor from?"
Kate grinned.
"Well, maybe Ana can share the room with you."
"But I didn't vandalize her house. I only verbally threatened her. And had blackmail pictures."
Grace giggled.
"You go Ana. I love my daughters," she said before sighing. "I know Carrick will make sure I don't wind up in prison. He'll make sure that none of us do. I'm not opposed to community service either."
"I think Elena will keep her mouth shut if she knows what's best for her. She better be lucky she isn't going to jail."
Ana and Kate both agreed with Grace. They finished their drinks and food in silence before Grace stood.
"Well, ladies. I think it's time we go and face our men. Kate, I know my grandbabies are at my house so you might as well stay for dinner. You to Ana."
They both agreed before they left the restaurant and piled back into Kate's car.
Next up, we've got Ana and Christian talking, and who knows! LOL leave me a review it makes my day.
