About a month had passed since Langa's race against Adam and things had calmed down for everyone. The group had also begun to meet up more outside of "S"

It was Saturday and the boys didn't have school so all three had met up and made their way to Sia la luce.

When they got there, they got off their boards and walked in to see Kojiro and Kaoru in the middle of their usual bickering.

"Come on, Kaoru! You haven't put a foot on that board for weeks!

-Don't tell me that you're scared, four-eyes!"

"What do you take me for you dimwitted gorilla.

-Why would I be scared?!"

"Then show me that you can get back onto that damn robot of yours and skate like you always have!"

"When will you learn that her name is Carla?!"

Reki was about to back out of the resturant but Langa grabbed his arm to stop him as Miya cleared his throat to get the adults' attention.

"Oh, hi boys, said Kojiro"

"What is it this time, Miya asked"

"I'm trying to convince this stubborn guy to try skating again since his injuries are fully healed and he's allowed to do sports again"

"I told you that I don't need to prove that I can stand on a skateboard again!"

"Come on Che..."

Reki stopped himself from finishing the word since he remembered what happened last time he'd called the pink-haired man by that name outside "S" and he didn't wanna get smacked by Kaoru's fan again.

"You're acting like a child"

Everyone turned their eyes to Miya who ust stood there with his hands behind his head.

"Just get on the board.

-Adam hasn't been around in a while and we're not gonna do anything to hurt you like he did"

Kaoru sighed and took off his glasses to pinch the bridge of his nose.

"Fine!

-I'll do it if you all stop nagging"

The boys all smiled before walking towards the door.

"See you two at the skatepark in an hour then, said Reki"

With that, the trio were out the door and skating down the street.

"I can't believe the brat tricked me into that"

Kojiro couldn't help but laugh.

"What's so funny, damn gorilla?!"

"Nothing.

-I just didn't expect you to take Miya's bait that easily"

"He said I was acting like a child!"

"Which he was kinda right about since you're being stubborn"

He then looked at Kaoru, arms crossed.

"Now, I have to clean up a bit here and you should probably go home and change into something better to skate in"

Kojiro was right that a yukata was probably not the best clothing to wear for skateboarding so Kaoru got up and went home.

He had to dig through his closet a little to find something that wasn't a yukata or his "S" outfit.

In the end, he managed to find a pair of jeans, a shirt and jacket.

"When was the last time I wore something like this?"

Getting changed, Kaoru could slightly feel his anxiety creep up on him.

Had getting attacked by Adam really left fear in him about getting up on a board again?

Kaoru shook his head to try and get rid of those thoughts before putting his hair up in the high ponytail he always wore it in during "S"

He then grabbed his board and walked out of his home to find Kojiro waiting for him.

"Let's go, Kaoru.

-Can't let the boys wait for too long"

"I know that!"

The two then got onto their boards and made their way to the skatepark where they found the trio go up and down the ramps as well as across railings.

The two men watched them for a while and saw Langa pull off a trick from the railing.

"Can you believe that's the same kid who taped his own feet to a skateboard just a few months ago, said Kojiro"

"He has improved a lot"

Reki then noticed them standing there.

"There you are.

-We were starting to wonder if you'd show up"

"Well we had a few things to do first, said Kojiro

-You'll understand when you're our age"

"You make us sound older than we are, said Kaoru"

"Well, you're older than we are so..."

Before Reki could finish, Langa crashed into him and both ended up on the ground.

"Ow.

-Langa, watch where you're going!"

"Sorry.

-I went faster than I wanted and didn't have time to warn you"

"Try yelling my name next time at least"

The two stood up and turned to Miya who was sitting at the top of a ramp, laughing.

"What's so funny?"

"You two slimes crashing into each other like that"

"Why you little...!"

"Reki, that's enough, said Kojiro"

The red-haired teen sighed.

"Fine.

-So are you guys gonna give it a go?"

"Of course"

"Miya get down from there so we don't hit you, said Kaoru"

"Okay... mom"

"I'm not your mom!"

The boy got onto his board and went down the ramp, stopping next to everyone.

"All yours"

Kojiro placed his board on the ground before looking at the ramp.

He then pushed himself forward until he reached the speed he needed to get up the ramp and do a spin before going down to get to the other.

"Awesome Joe, said Reki"

After a few more trips up and down the ramps, Kojiro stopped.

"Your turn, Kaoru

-And no help from the robot"

Kaoru looked at him with a glare before he put his board down.

"Carla, assistance off"

"Yes master"

As the board stopped glowing, Kaoru put his left foot on it and looked at the ramp.

"I can do this.

-I'll show them I'm not scared to skate again"

He was about to push the board forward when images from his race with Adam flashed through his mind and he felt his anxiety come back.

"Stop it! He's not here and I won't let what happened that night stop me"

He heard footstep and looked up at Kojiro.

"You okay?"

"Yes.

-Just give me a moment"

Kojiro nodded and went back to the boys as Kaoru took a deep breath and with a strong kick, pushed his board forward.

He went up the ramp and got high into the air where he did a trick before going down.

A big grin spread over Kojiro's face when he saw the slight smile on Kaoru's face as he went down the second ramp.

"That's the Kaoru I know"

Next to him, the three younger all cheered as Kaoru came over to them.

"That was awesome, said Langa"

"First time seeing you skate outside of "S" and I'm not disappointed, said Miya"

"So, doesn't it feel great to back on a board, Reki asked"

Kaoru looked at them and then down at his board, nodding.

"It does"

He then turned to his best friend.

"How about we show them the place we used to skate at back in the day?"

"Why not"

The two saw how Reki's eyes lit up with excitement.

"A secret skating place?

-Awesome!"

"I wouldn't call it secret but it's where we always went when we were your age, said Kojiro"

"Could we wait a few minutes before we go, Langa asked"

"Shadow texted not that long ago and said he has finished working, said Miya

-He'll be here soon"

"Okay, let's wait for him then, said Kojiro"

"Hopefully he doesn't have that make up on, said Kaoru"

"He probably won't since we're outside of "S" right now and it's the middle of the day, said Reki"

"He did put it on though back on Miyakojima, said Langa"

"That was during the night though and no one would see us"

The others laughed a little before they began to skate around as they waited.

Hiromi showed up a few minutes later, thankfully without the make up on and the group followed Kojiro and Kaoru to the place they'd talked about.

They skated together until Kojiro had to get back to Sia la luce and everyone else decided to head home as well since it was getting late.

Kaoru took a less busy path home to guarantee that people wouldn't see him because how would it look to see a famous calligrapher on a skateboard.

"Well, next time we go to "S"..."

He ollied over a crack in the pavement with a slight grin.

"Cherry Blossom will be back"

Getting back home, he changed back into his yukata and put his hair down before sitting down with his laptop to look over a few commissions he had to do now when his arm was fully healed.

When he was done, it was the time he would usually got to Sia la luce so he closed the laptop and went outside.

The sun was setting, painting the sky orange as Kaoru walked down the streets, shops getting ready to close around him.

When he reached the resturant, Kojiro had already placed a wine glass on his usual spot at the counter along with a bottle.

"A bit later than usual today"

"I had work to get done now when I'm healed.

-I couldn't do it earlier since we were gone all afternoon"

Kojiro chuckled as Kaoru sat down and poured some wine into his glass.

"So?"

"So what?"

"Didn't feel so bad to get back on a board"

Seeing the grin on the other's face made Kaoru let out a slight sigh before he took a sip of his drink.

Putting the glass down, he looked up at Kojiro.

"It felt good"

"This means Cherry Blossom is back in action"

"Yes.

-And how about we have a race when we go the next time?"

"It has been a while since we challenged each other"

"Shall I take that as a yes, you muscle brained gorilla?"

"Of course, four-eyes"

A few days later the whole group went to "S". Reki, Miya, Langa and Hiromi going with Kaoru while Kojiro took his motorcycle.

"Let's do this, said Reki"

"Everyone is gonna be glad to see you back on your board, Cherry, said Miya"

"And your first race back is against Joe, said Hiromi"

"The gorilla has no chance against me, said Kaoru"

"What was that, said Kojiro.

-I've actually been racing while you have recovered so if anything, you have no chance against me"

"We'll see about that"

Kaoru pulled his mask up to his nose as everyone placed their boards on the ground.

"Ready, Kojiro asked"

"You got it, said Langa"

"Let's go then, said Hiromi"

Everyone made their way down the path to the main area and people cheered when they saw them.

"Lord Cherry is back, they heard one of his fans shout"

"Welcome back, someone else shouted"

The group then stopped their boards and Kaoru looked at Kojiro.

"Shall we then, muscle brained gorilla?"

"You're on, pinky"

The people around them began to cheer louder.

"A race between Joe and Cherry!"

"This is awesome!"

The two friends went to the starting line and at the sound of the siren, the both kicked off and started to go down the track.

The others cheered for both, not really caring who won and for the two of them, it was just fun to be able to race against each other again.
