(Mantle.)
Ruddy looked up at the snow which made him uneasy. He wanted to go and check on Penny. However? Ruddy knew that Penny was needed by Ironwood for something at the moment.
"There's way too much snow…" Ruddy muttered as he sealed his helmet. "We're going to freeze to death within an hour." Ruddy stated and cursed as a snowflake settled in his hand.
"We're stop it." Pietro put in which caused Ruddy to sigh and look to the side.
Ruddy couldn't stop fussing over this. People wouldn't be safe. He wanted to be out on the streets, keeping the Grimm out of Mantle.
Still? He would wait for a chance to go into the streets, he didn't want to stop trying to protect people. Ruddy didn't even much care that people were scared of him and Penny.
He knew why they were scared… But he didn't want to try and hang back while they were danger. Ruddy cared more about protecting Mantle then public opinion at the moment. He was a soldier.
"Hmm…" Ruddy stated while pacing back and forth. "We should be out there, not messing around with the council." Ruddy muttered while looking back up at the sky.
His finger constantly traced over the trigger of Fusillade. The cyborg was becoming twitchy and restless. He wanted to march out into the snow, gun down any Grimm between him and Mantle's safety. Ruddy was a soldier, soldiers didn't run from fights… But they didn't rush into combat dangerously.
"Ruddy…" Pietro started to say before the being. "Don't panic because of what's happening." Pietro stated which caused Ruddy to turn to her.
"That's not what's stirring him up." Martha said while Ruddy turned to him. "He's getting riled because of your daughter. He's worried sick over what's going to happen to her." Martha added which caused Ruddy to nod.
"Penny will be alright…" Pietro said, ruddy didn't turn to look at him.
He knew the man was talking more to himself then anyone else. Ruddy still worried about the girl. Not because of Jacques, the man couldn't do a single thing to Penny. It was the people of Mantle that worried Ruddy.
"Things will get worse before they get better." Maria added and turned to Ruddy. "She will be fine, boy. She's strong, but it is good that you care about each other. Partners don't survive on the battlefield if they don't care enough to train together." Maria stated and watched Ruddy turn to look at her.
"You had a partner?" Ruddy questioned and crossed his arms. He was much more curious about this then his voice convoyed.
"I wish I did…" Maria did which caused Ruddy to hum and look to the side. "But considering how you look ready to storm into the council's office? I don't have to guess to know you care a lot about her." Maria added which caused Ruddy to hum.
"More then you could possibly imagine…" Ruddy stated in a whispered hush. He sighed and hummed to himself.
Ruddy was cut off from his own thoughts by the screech of a beast as he turned and saw a Teryx screech before spreading its wings and flew past them.
"No…" Ruddy said before they heard a trumpet which caused the trio to turn to the streets.
Ruddy saw the clouds of ice kicked up before he saw them… It made him wish this was a nightmare.
There was a group of Megoliaths rushing them. Ruddy watched the herd of Grimm continue to stampede through the snow and ice and into a hole in the wall.
"NO…." Ruddy cursed and turned to Pietro and Maria.
"Tell someone to evacuate Mantle!" Ruddy hissed as he looked at the group of Grimm.
"Ruddy… You cant take them all on." Pietro said as Ruddy drew Fusillade from its holster.
"I'm not letting them consume Mantle…" Ruddy stated and then leapt down the slide of the building.
He slammed into the ground with a thud that shook the street. Maria and Pietro watched stone and brick fly from the crater before they heard the sound of footsteps.
Ruddy rose from the dust and ice before shooting a charging Beowolf. The Grimm slumped to the ground before Ruddy cycled the next bullet into the chamber.
He slowly advanced into the chaos. Ruddy cursed and started to look into the smoke and ash. Ruddy sealed his helmet around his head.
Another Grimm emerged towards him. Ruddy sighed and shot the Sabyr which slumped to the ground as Ruddy ground it's skull under his armored foot. He stepped over the disintegrating corpse and hummed.
He looked out into the whipping winds and hummed. This was the war for Mantle….
And it was time to fight or die. Ruddy raised his weapon and cycled the next bullet into the chamber.
"I really hope she shows up." Ruddy muttered to himself.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that while this chapter is not as long as next chapter? Next chapter will end up being 1500 words or so. Next chapter will be in 2-10 weeks and will show Out in the Open. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
