It was the insane laughter that tipped off Ruddy before Tyrian flung himself at him. Ruddy threw himself backwards and drew his weapon from his belt.

"Remember me?!" Tyrian yelled as he went after Penny with his blades extended.

Ruddy cursed as he held up his hands at him. He tried to move Penny to the side. He hadn't seen this coming; he had failed right out of the gate. It was then something happened which shocked him.

A wave of blue energy threw Tyrian back. Tyrian blinked and then tried to stab at the wave of aura only to be thrown backwards.

"Wah…?" Ruddy questioned and looked at his hands in shock. He looked at Tyrian who growled in anger and retreated.

"We need to stop them." Penny stated as Ruddy blinked and looked at his hands shocked. "Ruddy!" Penny yelled while Ruddy slowly nodded.

"I… Ok…" Ruddy said before lowering his hands which glowed with the same blue energy.

Penny flew after Tyrian who giggled and opened fire only for Penny to summon 4 out of the 12 swords in Floating Array. She spun them and deflected every bullet into the air.

Ruddy looked at his hands before rushing forward as Tyrian grinned and swung himself off the roof. Ruddy shifted his weapon into its sword form. Ruddy blocked the strike and then sidestepped a stab at his ribs.

Ruddy was caught off guard by a slug fired at his leg as Penny slammed into Tyrian, toppling him from the roof. His aura flashed purple. Ruddy felt the bullet ping off his aura enhanced armor while he looked around.

He spotted a green haired woman with dark crimson eyes like him. One of her revolvers smoked as she continued to fire.

Ruddy rolled behind cover and turned to look at the woman. He shifted his weapon back into its revolver form.

He fired at the girl who leapt behind a chimney as his bullet punched through stone and metal. Ruddy hummed and cycled the next bullet into the chamber.

(With Penny)

Penny moved her swords to block a downwards strike from Tyrian. Sparks flew from their weapons as he flipped backwards. Penny looked at Tyrian as she changed several of her weapons into their rifle form and fired at Tyrian. The Faunus grinned as he started to move back and forth.

Penny hummed as she turned to Ruddy who was engaging in a gunfight with the girl with mint green hair. Penny fired her thrusters which lifted her a few meters into the air once more.

(With Ruddy)

Ruddy rolled out of cover as the girl leapt down and unslung the blades under her revolvers. Ruddy rolled to the side as the blades cracked into the pavement.

Ruddy turned and fired a gravity aura bullet at Tyrian. He continued to fight off the girl who was trying to cut open his neck.

Tyrian grinned and turned to try and cut the bullet in half only to be levitated into the air. Ruddy turned back to the girl as she started to swing the blades faster and faster.

"I was expecting Cinder…" Ruddy said and tilted his head to the side while one of the blades flashed past his head.

Ruddy held up his hand instinctively as the other blade wrapped around his armored hand. He yanked the blade forward which sent the girl flying towards him. He slammed the girl into the ground which made her aura flash bright green and cracked the pavement under her.

"She's told me to get her." Emerald said as she flicked a switch on her weapons.

"Your going through me for that." Ruddy said and clicked the hammer of his weapon.

"Ruddy, behind you!" Penny yelled as he turned only to be greeted by Tyrian.

Ruddy backed off as he dodged a strike aimed at his chin, moving his other arm to parry a stab that would have cut open his chin.

"I would have thought that you'd be hiding now that your wanted in Atlas." Ruddy stated as he hummed and looked at Tyrian while continuing to backpedal.

He fired just as Tyrian lunged forward with his tail. The bullet exploded out of the weapon. Tyrian was sent backwards as the bullet exploded against his weapons. Ruddy was about to walk forward to engage the scorpion Faunus.

That was before a gust of wind blew him backwards. Ruddy dug his armored heels into the ground as tiles and asphalt flew in every direction.

Penny's eyes flashed green as Ruddy paused and looked at her. Ruddy hummed and cycled the next bullet into his weapon.

Ruddy watched as Penny floated next to him. Ruddy brushed his armor off. Ruddy turned to Penny and took a moment to reload his weapon as Emerald reattached the blades to her weapons

"You weren't in Vale according to General Ironwood's statements on the battle of Vale." Ruddy stated and cracked his neck.

"I don't serve the wannabe queen she claims to be." Tyrian said while he rolled his eyes and turned to Emerald. "I'm only here to kill the maiden. It's all make it a bit easier to burn this city down. You huntsmen and huntresses are making it too hard to cause some chaos." Tyrian stated while scrapping his blades together.

"You will not destroy Mantle." Penny said and clenched her hands.

Ruddy could see the fires dancing in her eyes as Tyrian grinned and clenched his fists around his weapons. He could see she had the maiden's power… Just not the training to match it.

"This will be fun." Tyrian said and sprung at them only for the gust of wind to send him backwards.

Ruddy turned to see that Penny's arms were shifted forward. Ruddy hummed as Emerald's eyes flashed and the duo blinked.

There was suddenly a dozen Tyrians and Emeralds who raised their weapons. Ruddy cursed before Penny branched several of her weapons which cut through several of the images.

Tyrian rushed at them as Penny shifted her swords to fire at him, sending him skidding backwards. Emerald opened fire of them as Ruddy rolled behind a parked car which the bullets pierced into the car. Ruddy could see the dozens of Tyrians and Emeralds seem to multiply, advancing from every angle before suddenly? They dropped off into the void surrounding them.

Ruddy looked up only to see that Tyrian and Emerald had vanished into thin air. Penny turned to Ruddy as he straightened up and hummed.

"They almost killed us." Ruddy said while he cracked his fingers and put his weapon back on his hip. "Why did they back off? They didn't seem like they were trying to kill us." Ruddy stated while he sighed and opened his visor.

"They weren't trying to." Penny said as Ruddy turned to see her glowing green eyes. "Tyrian knows how to get around our defenses if he wanted to easily… That was a test." Penny added while Ruddy hummed.

Ruddy couldn't tell if Penny was acting through her own power or the maiden inside her was acting on its own. But if it was enough to show him that a maiden wasn't someone who was taken lightly.

"They're be back…" Ruddy said and rubbed at his eyes which burned. "Was that her semblance? I saw hundreds of them, I couldn't pick out which one was the real one." Ruddy said while Penny rubbed at her own eyes.

She was stumped about how things would go next time they encountered the duo would go. She knew for a fact that Cinder would send them again, the power of the Maiden would be a prize that she couldn't ignore.

Still? It made things much harder down the road. They had held back to try and test them… Or perhaps because Penny suspected Tyrian wanted to draw the fight out so he could enjoy it more.

"We should go see my father to see if he has a solution… And the upgrades were completed yet." Penny said as she activated her thrusters and flew down towards the pharmacy.

Ruddy sighed and slowly followed after Penny. He was still curious about why there was a sudden wave of energy from his hands. It felt like aura, but it wasn't something that had manifested before. It felt like something that he had known all his life, however.

He needed answers, and if Penny was still learning how her new abilities had manifested? Then she'd have to learn how to control them to begin with.

"I hate when she flies off like that." Ruddy muttered and lowered the visor over his face once more.

This would be the last time he wore the 'mark 1' version of this armor, according to Pietro. His new weapon and armor would be ready by the time he got back to the pharmacy, hopefully.

And both he and Penny's upgrades would only take a day or so to create… According to him? He was always making new upgrades. Ruddy was curious if they'd be ready for Cinder.

'Tyrian might be unpredictable and that girl might have a crazy semblance… But they don't have the power that Cinder has if I'm right…' Ruddy thought to himself while he continued to follow after Penny.

He was curious when their next fight would be. Tyrian wouldn't surrender until he was killed or captured. Plus, there was the fact that Cinder wanted them bad enough to put entire groups of innocent people in danger… And she had to know neither Penny or Ruddy would allow them to be put in trouble once more.

"This is going to be a very long day, I think." Ruddy muttered to himself as he slowly walked after them.

Ruddy sighed and cracked his mechanical fingers which hummed with power as their servos recalibrated.

"Oy…." Ruddy said while he cracked his neck and looked to the sky.

He hummed once more and continued his walk towards the pharmacy. This was going to be a very long day when he returned to the pharmacy in question. He couldn't wait to lay his head down on a pillow and enjoy sleep for the day.

He had no idea how much he and Penny's bond would change after a few days.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that the Cinder, Neo, and Emerald vs Penny, Maria, and Ruddy fight will be 3000 words and the next Tyrian fight will be longer and such. Next chapter will be in 2-10 weeks and will show Penny and Ruddy getting upgrades, their bond growing and learning about Ruddy and Penny's semblances as well as Penny training her maiden powers. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
