Boards were finally over. They were finished, and complete, and now they just awaited their results. He needed to find Meredith. They'd arranged to meet in the lobby of the hotel. One more goodbye before they spent a whole two weeks together.

He could see her up ahead, sat on a couch in the lobby bent over with her head in her hands. He frowned, hoping she was just tired, hoping that nothing bad had happened. He quickly made his way over, sitting beside her and wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

"Hey, what's wrong?" he breathed, his free hand brushing her hair back as he kissed the side of her head.

"Just… it's over, it's finally over," she turned to look at him, exhaustion plain on her face.

"Yeah," he chuckled softly, meeting her lips with his own.

She hummed softly, sitting up as she returned his kiss before murmuring, "How did it go?"

"I think it went well, but we'll find out later," he sighed, cupping her cheek, "What about you?"

"Pretty much the same," she laughed softly, "But you know, expectations."

"Stop thinking about expectations," his nose brushed hers slightly, catching her lips again for a short moment.

"I wish you could just come back to Seattle with me now," she murmured with a slight whine.

"Me too, you should wear outfits like this more often," he smirked slightly, moving his hand to her waist, "and I hate to say this, but you should blame your mother for that one."

"You in this suit just makes me… I hate that woman sometimes," she groaned softly, lowering her head against his shoulder, "How long until you have to go?"

"About ten minutes, I brought my bag with me when I came to find you."

"Damn it," she frowned, and he pressed a kiss to her forehead to try and smooth out the frown, which always worked.

"You'll see me again tomorrow, before you know it," he murmured, gently pulling her closer by the waist, almost sitting her in his lap.

"You know we're in public right?" She quirked an eyebrow at him.

"That's the only reason you're not naked right now," he smirked, kissing her quickly again.

She laughed softly, burying her face against his neck as she moved her arms around his middle. Her lips pressed against his collarbone.

"You always know just how to cheer me up."

"Can't have you being sad now, can I?" He said, kissing the top of her head, "It's not even twenty-four hours and then I'll be in Seattle with you, and we can spend the whole time in bed before we leave for our flight."

"I know," she sighed softly, closing her eyes.

"I was saying that more for my benefit," he laughed as he poked her in the side gently.

"Don't do that!" She squealed playfully, poking him back, "Anyway, I have something for you."

"Wait, we're doing presents?" He asked, a frown on his face as she pulled away and went into her own bag that sat beside her on the couch.

"I'm giving you a present," she shrugged taking out a small gift bag, "I saw it and I couldn't resist."

"You should really tell me when you're going to do this so I can get you a gift too," he shook his head with a smile, taking the bag from her, kissing her forehead, "Thank you, baby."

"You're welcome," she grinned softly, a slight blush on her cheeks, "Now open it!"

He sighed, opening up the small gift bag and reaching inside, lifting out a small piece of fabric. He studied the ferry ships that decorated it, sailing along waves of water. A grin broke out on his face as she realised exactly what it was. A ferry boat scrub cap. He looked up at Meredith again who was watching his reaction expectantly.

"Meredith, it's perfect," he said, still grinning as he pulled her into a hug, "I love it, thank you so much."

"I'm so glad you like it," she laughed as she returned the hug, "I just… you have a weird thing for ferry boats, so I thought I was perfect."

"It is, absolutely perfect," he said, kissing her softly, "I love you so much."

"I love you too," she murmured, returning his kiss.

I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you,
I don't wanna think of anything else now that I thought of you
