"Do you think it will be like them?" Monkey asked as he hung upside down in the top bunk looking at Imp who was doing his best to ignore him as he folded his clothes neatly into drawers.

After a while Monkey sighed and sat up "well?"

"Apparently … it's a crap shoot. Might or might not. Might come out like us."

Monkey considered this as he laid back and stared at the ceiling "So… could be like us, with them as parents. Cool. I mean… I love Papa but… he's a bit mad… ya know?"

Imp stopped folding the laundry he had received … a badly folded mess in the clothes basket his Dad was handing in to the room. No daub dropped on the stairs and not wanting to tell Tad. No worries, Imp liked folding things. He stared at Monkey then agreed "We can't pick our parents but seem to have got good matches to us. After all… your Papa would be a terrible choice for me but is great for your…. Adventuring nature."

"Yeah, your Tad would have drowned me in the bathtub I reckon" Monkey agreed happily "I am far to bloody mad for him."

"And when you think about it, no wonder we are fiends. You and I are opposites so together we make sense." Imp said as he now refolded the socks Dad clearly tried to do as well. Did Tad even know Dad got to the dryer first?

"So, it really doesn't matter… one of us or one of them… Ton and Angel will be such great parents. Their baby will be so kissed and squished it will have to be a patient one, waiting while it gets a hat tied to its noggin if there is a hint of snow" Monkey snorted "Ton really does that to Hawk right? Remember the time we had to cut it off with scissors because it was on wrong?"

"Ton is thorough, that's for sure" Imp agreed "and he is a good big brother, he will be a good dad."

"Of course he will… he is here. I think anything is possible here. You can be anything here… you know.. I feel really sorry for the rest of the world out there in Normalton. How boring. I bet there are kids out there that don't even know the best way to milk a cow … or ride a goat… or have lots of parentals that love you so here is always a cuddle when you need it" Monkey shook his head "Hard to imagine that. "

Imp smiled at his weird friend and agreed … some things are just weird.

And this family embraces them.
