Hey guys, CL here! Sooo just a quick introduction to this fic. My friends and I love Genshin Impact, so much so that we like to write short snippets of our self-inserts/OCs interacting with our waifus and husbandos. It got me thinking: why not spread the fun to fanfiction? I talked to my friend and Beta Reader about it - call them B for short - and they said it's a fun idea that could give me practice writing different personalities. We talked about the best way this could be done, and eventually settled on the idea of an interdimensional cafe!

So here's how this fic will work. You guys can submit 'requests', either through reviews or DMs. The requests should have the following:

1. Your character, either a self-insert/OC or a character from another series.

2. A short description of their physical appearance if they're a self-insert/OC, or a link to art of the character. There's this site called Picrew which is really useful for creating OCs if you can't draw, like me!

3. A few paragraphs describing the character's personality.

4. The Genshin Impact character you wish to interact with, and if you want, how the interaction could go.

There are a few limits, most important of which being I can't write anything that's not safe for work (NSFW). Each request has a limit of up to two requested characters This is in case some of you guys have a friend who wants to come along, but also to make sure everyone gets a fair chance, and so myself and B don't have to write, like, 10 different characters per request. Also, I can't write your requested characters into a ship with a Genshin Impact character, because the cafe is a self-contained universe with all the characters who might be shipped together already.

Ultimately myself and B will have final say, but this should allow for a lot of freedom. Remember to have fun guys!

~Curious Life

Because CL is too nice to say it, please try not to submit a generic, pessimistic teen as an OC. It might be interesting for a chapter or two, but there's not many ways we can spin a story around such a character in this format. -B(eta)

Wish Come True!

Requester: Curious Life & B(eta)

1. Character(s): Jane Park, Zhihong (志红)

2. Jane Park - Imgur . com (slash)GA0LFXq

Zhihong - Imgur . com (slash)o1tcd8j

3. Jane Park - An simple girl with two goals in life: to be happy, and to make others happy. Jane is at her happiest when surrounded by friends, talking about the things they love, and generally having a good time. She loves a good book, and has recently gotten into writing with the help of her friend, Zhihong.

Zhihong -Zhihong likes the simple things in life. Nice music, sweet treats, and spending time with his friends, albeit at the side with a smile rather than participating in the chit chat. He can be passionate when he wants to, but he claims he's too tired to be any more energetic. Oh well, Jane more than makes up for him.

4. Venti

"Whoah!"

Jane flew threw the portal with her arms outstretched, immediately regretting her decision to jump through the inter-dimensional rift. It was just her luck to trip on a rock, and now she was going to hit the ground face first! She closed her eyes and braced herself for a painful landing.

A hand reached out from the portal and grabbed her hoodie, stopping her descent and leaving her hanging in the air at a 45 degree angle.

"I told you to be careful," said Zhihong as he stepped through behind her with a teasing smile. "As exciting as this is, neither of us will be able to enjoy it if you hurt yourself tripping into the fantasy."

Jane rubbed the back of her neck with an embarrassed giggle. "Sorry. This is just so surreal, y'know?"

"We're personifications of this world's creators thrown in here as an example for an audience," Zhihong deadpanned, "Surreal doesn't even come close to describing it."

Jane rolled her eyes. "You're just annoyed you don't get to meet your favourite characters this time because our creators are using this chapter for exposition."

"That, and I'm imagining the readers getting annoyed at the blatant breaking of the fourth wall."

"It's just for this chapter, Zhihong." Jane slapped her friend's arm playfully. "The ones that come after us won't be as aware as we are."

"I'm sure some will wish for it, and they'll be displeased when our creators deny them."

"Oh come on, I'm sure they'll understand it's for the sake of the story- oh! Look, there it is!"

Jane and Zhihong stopped before a stone path. On the left of the path was a strange habitat comprised of grasslands, a pond, and a hill. Numerous creatures of Teyvat mingled in harmony, including a few hilichurls, abyss mages, and even... was that Dvalin in the back? On the right of the path was a forest with a mountain in the background, which looked rather out of place in the otherwise serene setting.

"It looks like it was modelled after a shoddily constructed serenitea-pot." Zhihong commented before his eyes narrowed. "Wait, isn't this-?"

"Nevermind that, look ahead!"

The reason for Jane's excitement was obvious. At the end of the stone path stood a homely looking building. complete with flowerbeds, frosted glass windows depicting a cup of coffee, and a sign labelled 'Wish Come True! Interdimensional Cafe'. At the entrance stood a familiar figure, donned in an apron and an inviting smile upon his face.

"Venti!" Jane rushed ahead, completely forgetting about being careful at the sight of the bard. She threw her arms around Venti, who returned the hug with a laugh. The archon smelled of dandelions and pleasant winds, which seemed to make Jane forget about all her troubles and relax.

"Heya Jane, it's nice to see you again. Oh, and you brought Zhihong too!"

Zhihong waved in greeting. "Hey. Mind if we come in?"

Venti laughed before with a wave of his hand, opened the doors to the cafe. Inside, the cafe looked to be modelled after Angel's Share, albeit with a larger space instead of a second floor. The bar had a display counter on the side with cakes, pies, and even fresh fruits that made Jane's mouth water. One of the corners had been transformed into a reading space with bean bags and bookshelves stocked with all kinds of books. Soothing music played in the background, creating an atmosphere that anyone could sink into without effort.

"Welcome to Wish Come True, the interdimensional cafe where all of Teyvat awaits!" Venti bowed dramatically with one palm to his chest. "It's just me today, but the others will come along soon."

Jane clapped her hands excitedly. "This is so cool!" she looked towards Zhihong as she gestured to the cafe. "What do you think? Will the people like this?"

"I'm sure they'll love it." her friend chuckled. "So Venti, you and the others know how this works, right?"

The bard hummed. "We'll meet a bunch of otherworldly travellers who witnessed the events of our world through the eyes of Lumine and Aether. For them, it will be like their favourite characters have come to life. To us though, we're just living a normal life in this peaceful little realm that was created."

Zhihong shrugged. "Pretty much. Our creators just want, as the community puts it, a fluffy story with zero drama. We'd appreciate it if you guys just played along. It would be... messy," he grimaced, "if the travellers coming here are aware of the break in dimensions. As far as everyone else is concerned, this is a normal cafe, and you guys are serving normal customers."

Jane nodded. "It's a story being told by chapter, not a interactive game or a choose your own adventure."

"Of course, everyone knows what to do." Venti winked. "I even made sure the old blockhead won't mess things up the way he usually does."

"Thanks."

"Hey, with that settled, what do you guys say about a round of drinks?"

Jane was already sat at a table before they could blink. "I'll have a caramel frappucino with extra caramel sauce at the top!"

Zhihong shook his head with an exasperated smile. "Honey green tea with pearls?"

"You sure you don't want wine?"

"Not yet, Venti. Maybe in a few more chapters."

"Ehe~"
