JAKENstein: Yes and no. You've touched on something i've wanted to explain for a while. This story is a prequel to the main story which will be called Mobile Suit Black Gundam which will span the entire One-Year War, and will include works such as 08th MS Team, MS-IGLOO, Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket, and - of course - Gundam Thunderbolt. I'll also include characters such as Johnny Ridden, Shin Matsunaga, and others. In short, MSBG is probably going to pull from almost every corner of the Universal Century. Even smaller works such as Advance of Zeta are going to play a role in later works.

Which is why, of course, I emphasize visiting the fandom wiki for all viewers. Early on it's not so important, but you're definitely going to want to read some of the biographies and things.

Blazer: Thanks for the encouragement!

March 15th, UC 0076

'Back from break and already i'm back in the fire.' Adrian thought mirthlessly, Cadets with varying expressions of nervousness surrounded him. Samuel fidgeted with his gun, Aina looked around at the others. Another Cadet named Anavel Gato was looking out the small slit next to him at the chaos ahead.

A mock artillery shell filled with paint burst right next to them, creating the sound of an explosion as paint splattered against Adrian's APC. Aina yelped as Adrian stood and turned to the Cadets,

"Alright. Listen up, we're going to dump the APC on the left side of the bunker, only Tories and Falco will remain in the Carrier to advance on the bunker and provide covering fire. While the Feddies are distracted, we'll hit the bunker from the sides in coordination with Char's team. Got it?" Adrian explained, he poked his head through a slit in the APC.

The cadets nodded. "We're here! Go!" A technical student named Oliver May hissed from the drivers seat quickly, and the cadets scrambled out. The APC charged forward firing at the bunker as Adrian led the team of cadets through the rocks.

Char came from the other side, and signaled the clear. Adrian did the same, "Alright. Char say's we're good. Go!"

Simultaneously, the Cadets surrounded the bunker and opened fire on the Federation forces, Samuel proceeded to throw a grenade upon a Type 61 who was just noticing what was happening.

Adrian shot down a soldier who tried to go for his gun, then proceeded to throw a grenade into the bunker. Splattering paint everywhere and eliminating everyone inside.

"Point 4 has been taken!" A Federation officer said in surprise, causing the Advisor to spit out his coffee.

"I'm sorry what?! By who?!"

"This is Zenna Mia! Squads 1 and 2 have taken P4! Now providing spotting!"

'Those two...Char and Ryan...they really did it.' Garma smiled, "Alright! Fire for effect! Fire!" The mortars sounded off, firing two shells in the direction of the bunker line.

"Overshot! Adjust 50 degrees!"

"Roger!" Garma signalled to the other mortar teams, and they adjusted. "Fire!" This time, they fired off, five shells, each hitting a single bunker, eliminating it's crew and supporting vehicles. This repeated itself many more times as the Cadets streamed in through the breach created by the capture of P4 and used it to outflank the rest of the bunkers.

"Listen up! The purpose of today's exercise was to determine the level of proficiency of the third year cadets! And I rate your performance as acceptable over all! Keep this up and you will successfully complete training and receive your postings! But this is only the beginning! As you may have heard, criminal militants calling themselves the Riah Liberation Front have been growing bolder in their attempts to alienate the Colonies from the Federation! However, you must not be swayed by their lies-"

"Question!" Char raised his hand, much to the surprise of several cadets.

"Not the time, but I'll bite. What is it Cadet?" The advisor asked.

"In that case, I'll ask two. One: If this was meant to mimic a real mission, what kind of enemy will we be fighting at a firepower disadvantage? Two: You stated you wouldn't tolerate alienation between the Federation and the colonies. If so, doesn't this mean that this inferior Spacenoid defense force is a sham who's only purpose is to drive home how weak the Colonies are?

Aina whimpered nervously, 'Oh. Shit.' Adrian thought. As the advisor stepped towards Char, his eye twitching dangerously.

"Cadet." The Advisor began, "I made an exception for questions. Not insubordination! Name and unit Cadet!"

"Char Aznable. Chief of the Third Student Corps."

"What are those things on your face?! Take them off now!"

"I can't sir. I have a retinal opsin defect. In conditions that gamma rays exceed a certain level I'm allowed to have vis-" He was brutally cut off by the Advisor backhanding him across the face, knocking his visors off.

All was silent for a moment as the Advisor realized the weight of what he'd done. Then Aina shouted, "Char did nothing wrong!"

The advisor looked at her, and she looked down quickly, "W-Well nothing Char said or did was against regs, was it?"

"That's right!" Lino yelled, "Char did nothing wrong! It wasn't against regs!"

"He's right!"

"It wasn't against regulations!"

"Apologize bastard!"

The advisor stepped back, "Pick it up!" Lino shouted, and the cry was quickly picked up by the rest of the second-years. "Pick it up!"

"Pick it up! Pick it up!" They chanted, the advisor turned to his compatriots for support, but found none.

Garma stepped forward, and the Cadets fell silent, to the relief of the advisor. "Sir!" Garma began, "Nothing Char said or did was against school regulations! Pick up his visor and admit your wrongdoing!" Garma inhaled, "This is an order!" He bellowed,

The advisor retreated for a moment, clearly realizing he was in a corner. He turned towards the cadets, who were glaring at him with murderous intent. If he didn't apologize, he'd find himself fired, or worse. He began to sweat intensely as he approached the visor, his hand shaking he clasped one of it's temples.

"I-I made a mistake Cadet Char Aznable. I-I sincerely a-apologize." The defeated man stammered.

The bell rang, signaling their final period. As he approached the class, Garma fell in beside him, "I heard we have a substitute for history."

Adrian kept walking, and Garma continued, "Don't know who it is though."

Adrian approached the class, and opened the door, as usual, Garma and himself were the first ones there.

"Greetings Cadets." A red-haired woman walked up to them. "I'm Captain Monique Cadiliac, a political officer for the Zeon Party, I'll be substituting your class today." She extended her hand

Adrian looked up at her, 'Monique Cadaliac? She was the political officer who observed our class some two or so years ago.'

Adrian took her hand, "Ryan Sahalin, Chief of the Second Student Corps, and our representative needs no introduction."

"Ah, Garma Zabi, it's an honor." She took his hand enthusiastically, Garma turned a deep shade of red in his cheeks.

"P-please the p-pleasure is m-mine Ms. Cadillac."

"Take your seats then gentlemen." Monique gestured to the empty desks. Garma and Adrian sat down right as the rest of the class began to arrive.

"If we're all here, we can start. I'm Monique Cadillac, a political officer for the Republic of Zeon. And as suspected, I'll be substituting your History class." She pulled out a tablet and proceeded to pull up a picture of the African Conflicts.

"What do you see here?" Monique asked, only to be met with confused whispers,

"Ms. Cadillac...we've finished the African Conflicts unit. We're on Development of Later Sides."

Monique glared at him, "Mr…"

"Samuel, ma'am. Samuel Gozen."

"Mr. Gozen, who's teaching the class right now?"

"You are." Samuel shrunk in his seat, realizing where this is going,

"Exactly. So unless you've been commissioned by the party to teach tykes such as yourself, please keep your mouth shut!"

A girl in the back giggled and said, "Burnt!"

Without looking up, Monique said, "Jenny Seinfield! Detention!"

The girl's mouth dropped, "But I didn't-"

"Bu-But I didn't." Monique mocked her, "News flash princess, this is a military academy. Detention!"

The girl huffed, but said nothing.

Garma frowned, clearly about to say something but Adrian pulled him down, "You won't win. This isn't some meek Feddie."

"But-"

"You two!" Monique shouted, "Apart! Now!"

"Yes ma'am!" Garma separated, and Adrian complied.

"Other boy." Monique stared at Adrian, "What's the proper procedure?"

Adrian still said nothing, much to the ire of Monique, she walked over to him. "Hello? Are you mute?"

"No, I just have nothing to say." The words fell out of his mouth before he could stop them, in that moment, he earned the respect of his classmates and the ire of Monique.

"Ah, a smart mouth. Detention!"

Garma stood, "Ma'am! Ryan Sahalin has followed your orders, refusing to speak is not an offense!"

'Ah great. He's got leader fever.' Adrian rolled his eyes,

Monique stared at Garma, Garma stared back, finally she retreated. "If you say so." She backed away and continued teaching,

"Now that that's dealt with…"
