Nijmegen, March 25th, UC 0077

"Wow...it really is nice." Rosary said in amazement. The Federation Academy had the look and feel of a resort rather than a Military complex. In fact, everyone seemed rather laid back, the students were in simple high school uniforms, only differentiated to be military cadets by badges on their breasts.

"Excuse me?" A girl tapped her on the shoulder, causing her to startle and trip backwards over her bags.

"Oh!" She backed off, "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's okay…" Rosary nodded,

"Here, let me help you up." The glasses wearing girl helped her up, "I'm Arleen Nazon, a second year technical student here."

"Oh, I'm Rose Sahalin, I just transferred from Side 3's Banchi Academy as a Cadet."

"Side 3? You mean Zeon?"

"Yeah, the one and only."

"I've never met someone from Side 3. What's it like there?"

"It's not all bad." Rosary shrugged, "It's just like any other colony."

"Really? Everyone says the Zabis are like dictators there, and that they have an entire secret police and everything-"

"Well...the Zabi Family isn't the best. But I've never encountered a secret police."

"Hm. Anyway, you should have an orientation sheet right? It has your schedule, map, and everything."

Rosary nodded, "Right here,"

"Great, let me see…" Arleen took the sheet, "Oh cool! You're my roommate!"

"Really? Where does it say that?"

"Right here, D1R11, that's my room too. Do you have your own ID Card yet?"

"Mhm," Rosary nodded,

"Great, follow me."

Rosary followed her too a luxurious room, worthy of a luxury hotel.

"Definite increase in quality." Rosary nodded,

"Eh, it's one of the lower end rooms. You should see what the rich kids get." Arleen said,

"Wow...and we're going to living like this?"

"Yep!" Arleen nodded,

Rosary flopped on the open bed, "I could get used to this."

The next day

'Let me see...my first class is...history?' She looked to the class at her side, 'Oh, it's right here.' She entered the room to find she was the first one in it.

"You must be our...new migrant student." The teacher said,

Rosary wanted nothing more than to ask what he meant by 'migrant' but she didn't want to seem overly fussy.

She sat down, and soon enough the other students were inside.

"That's my seat." A shadow darkened Rosary, and she looked up to see a tall muscular boy looming over her.

Rosary raised her hand, "Excuse me! Do we have assigned seats?"

The teacher turned back around, "Er...no?" He shrugged.

Rosary looked back towards the boy, "First come, first serve. Shove off now please."

The boy growled, and shoved Rosary's things off the desk. "Move." He growled again.

'So much aggression…' Rosary looked towards the teacher, but he seemed intent on ignoring the situation.

'Well...try to ignore this!' Without warning, Rosary grabbed the Cadet by the collar and threw her into a table before siting back down.

If you looked at Rosary, she was hardly the type who could do that. She was a bit on the shorter side, and - while she was beautiful - hardly looked like a fighter.

But a year in the harshest time at Banchi toughened her up, alot.

"Y-you bitch!" He yelled, by now, the students had long stopped paying attention to the teacher.

"Now Mr. Jacobsen. No need to get worked up over a seat-"

"That's my seat. She needs to leave!"

"It's just a seat dude. There's plenty of others." Rosary shrugged, suddenly, her stomach dropped a floor as the room suddenly went dark for her. Looking towards the boy, a shadow rose up from behind him, a shadow that seemed to be constructed of entitlement and hatred for this upstart who dared challenge him and the world he'd so carefully crafted around himself.

Then it descended on her, and her world went black.

'What...was that?' Rosary wondered as her eyes fluttered open. She was greeted by a plain white ceiling.

"Are you awake?" Arleen waved her hand over her face.

"Why...do you have two left hands?"

Arleen shrugged, "Your vision will clear in a bit. I came to check on you."

Rosary leaned up, "Jesus Christ...my head…"

"You just passed out of nowhere." Arleen said, "Do you have some kind of condition?"

"Did you see it?" Rosary asked,

"See what?"

"That...thing. It was some kind of unnatural shadow."

"Uh. The closest thing to unnatural I feel around Harris Jacobsen is a feeling like I'm nauseous. But now that you say that, I feel more so than usual."

"I likely passed out before I saw it and didn't know it." Rosary shook her head, "It's nothing."

"Well, if you're fine now. Class is over and I think we need to get you some new clothes."

However, Rosary had a feeling this would prove to be a very interesting next few years. And her encounters with Jacobsen were far from over.

A/N: So...I originally planned an entire two Arc where the 01st M.A.T goes to Riah and kicks ass during the (planned) Riah Civil War while Rosary deals with her rivalry with Harris. But for several reasons, including but not limited to an unhealthy speedrun of Gundam SEED, poor planning, and generally just becoming bored with Origin. I'm turning the 01st MAT into a test team, and Rosary probably won't be seen again until she returns as the protagonist of Golden Gundam. Speaking of Golden Gundam, now that I've skipped the Riah and Nijimegen Arcs, the only 'arc' (and I use the term loosely, as it's probably going to be a chapter, two at most) is Mare Smythii and then it's the declaration of independence and war by Zeon the Origin will be finally be over, and we'll be on to the real meat, Mobile Suit Golden Gundam!
