After all the nights you asked me for a dance

-A miraculous one-shot-

o.0.o

Ladybug never thought she'd be here.

Like, ever.

She never expected feelings like this to develop. She thought it would be him all along, but it wasn't.

There she was, about to tell her best friend she's in love with him.

After pining after Adrien for so long, it all just got weird. And with all that's had happened lately, ladybug and Chat Noir had been distant from each other. Doing the patrols they had together separate, not joking around on missions.

It hurt, a lot.

She realized just how important the silly cat was to her, and she blamed herself for everything that happened.

A few months ago, she would be confident that she wouldn't be rejected, but now, she doesn't know how he feels about her.

Ladybug couldnt imagine what it was like for him to be put down by her all those times, now that she's more in touch with her feelings.

She felt terrible, and she needed to talk to him.

"Hey Chat," she said jumping from the ledge of the building they were doing patrol from.

He looked up at her shortly, his green eyes blank, then looked back at the sleeping city. "Ladybug."

The girl took a deep breath, and walked closer to her partner.

"Look," she said. "I know things have been weird between us, and I know that's my fault."

This caught Chats attention. While he was upset with her, ladybug was still his closest friend. Or at least, she was at one point. And he loved her, even though-

"...I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry. For everything."

The two stare at each other for a moment silently, so ladybug is startled when Chat Noir gets up from where he was sitting on the ledge of the tall building.

City lights.

He walked up to her, and hesitantly grabbed her hand.

The tension hurt.

"Ladybug, you're under a lot of pressure. It just happened, and that's okay."

He looked up at her, and Ladybug wanted to smack herself.

"I think it was for the better"

Oof.

Ladybug's breathing went uneven, and she gently pulled her hand out of his.

"Wha-"

Chat noir sighed, like he was dreading this conversation. Does he not love her anymore? Is he giving up his miraculous?

"It helped me open my eyes to what was in-front of me. I was blind and oblivious, but time away from you really helped."

Ladybug linked her fingers together. This conversation was not going how she had expected, and she just wanted to go home and cry.

"Anyways, pining after you when you were never going to return my feelings was sort of pathetic," he said with a chuckle.

It wasn't funny to either of them.

"What are you trying to say?"

Chat noir squeezed her hand, before letting go. Ladybug tried to find his eyes, until he said-

"Theres someone else."

Green on blue.

"Th-thats great."

It was great. It was great for Chat, and she was happy for him. But that didn't mean her heart wasn't breaking and her eyes weren't pooling up.

The boy looked at her worriedly, noticing her downfall. Her hands balled up, as if she was fighting something.

"Are you o-"

"Yes, yes, I'm fine."

But her faltering voice said otherwise.

She couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe she was stupid enough to get herself in this situation. Stupid, stupid, stupid-

"M'lady?"

Silence.

Ladybug looked up.

"I love you."

Chat noir's eyes widened, like he never expected her to say that to him, and ladybug regretted those words immediately.

But she couldn't back down now.

"I mean- in a romantic way. Like, bow-chicka-wow-wow."

What the hell-

Chat didn't crack a smile, he just stood there, dumbfounded.

Ladybug recoiled herself from her embarrassing word choice, and inched closer to him. "And I know it'll never work, and I now know you don't feel the same. But, I can't loose you. I just can't."

The boy smiles sadly, and reached out for her hand. "You aren't going to loose me, ladybug. I'll always be here."

She sniffled, and squeezed his hand. "Okay, okay. Good."

After a few moments of silence, they laughed.

"This is pathetic," ladybug said.

"Totally."

"We're pathetic."

"Couldn't agree more."

The two still had a lot to uncover, and their relationship was anything but perfect. But their stories not over yet. Intact, it just began.
